As announced in early March 2021, BWA Yachting has completed the acquisition of the yacht agency, technical, and provisioning business of A1 Group, and the BWA Yachting tribe would like to wholeheartedly welcome the very experienced team from Greece into its world.
Adding 60 full-time team members to its staff, BWA Yachting will start operating in Greece for the 2022 Mediterranean yachting season, as well as offering our services as usual across all of the offices based on the most popular summer yachting destinations in Greece.
Although joining us to lead the transition seven months ago, George Petsos , the managing director of the Greek agency is otherwise a new face to both the company and the industry, having a professional background comprised of highly demanding roles in other industries. “I am very excited to be leading such a vibrant business with such a skilled team of professionals. I am fully committed to continuing to serve our customers cruising the beautiful Greek waters,” commented Petsos. “To be an integral part of helping BWA Yachting realize their ambitions, fostering our strategic alliances and partnerships, and enabling our employees to ensure BWA Yachting Greece’s success; honouring the past, but with our eyes firmly set on the future.”

- High service level continuity across the group
- Assurance: BWA Yachting is globally audited, controlling and operating all of its offices with company policies and proven procedures
- Privacy: clients’ privacy is given the utmost attention and we are NDA ready

The A1 yacht agency, technical and provisioning networks in Greece will be integrated under the BWA Yachting banner in 2022.
Monaco, March 9, 2021 – In what must be one of the friendliest of acquisitions this century, BWA Yachting and A1 Group have recently signed a memorandum of understanding for the A1 yacht agency, its technical and provisioning networks throughout Greece to integrate them under the BWA Yachting banner by year-end. Together they will strengthen each other creating a world-beating dynamic.
With efficiency and evolution at the forefront of the business, this next step in the integration of A1 agency with BWA Yachting was all but inevitable. And why now? Confidence is high, the BWA Yachting management team set ambitious targets during the 2019 season, culminating in a record year and even with the restrictions Covid-19 presented, strengthened the business confirming the position as market leader in their segment for 2020. And why for the A1 Group? For some time, A1 Group has been increasingly involved in some new and very exciting projects, mainly concerned with infrastructure in Greece. With the ever-increasing demands of these new ventures as well as the other services A1 Group offers, it was necessary to change the direction of the company to ensure that all departments were able to continue to flourish.
The 2021 season will be an interim season. 2022 will see a fully integrated Greek presence in the BWA Yachting panoply. During this year, all services will be offered as usual with improvements being scheduled as always. The A1 Group will continue to thrive and will work with BWA Yachting to ensure that they both singly and together they continue to offer ever-improving services to their clients.
BWA Yachting CEO Paschalis Patsiokas is excited about the future, but also very proud of achievements so far, “Time will be our judge, for while some countries are drawing their borders in, we are attempting to broaden our horizons, improve our service to our clients and make international yachting a more logical operation with smoother transition of yachts from country to country. By bringing the beautiful cruising grounds of Greece under our BWA Yachting banner we can further this ambition, integrating our services will benefit our customers and our supply chain and is key to our development in the future. This next step hasn’t been taken lightly, but has been made possible by involving the passionate, integrated team with the common goal of exceeding the expectations of our clients and customers, something that I am very proud of.” BWA Yachting and the A1 Group have long enjoyed the best of relationships, working together as affiliates and sharing knowledge between the two, so natural progression has almost dictated the move. Indeed, BWA Yachting may not have existed at all, had it not been for then A1 Yacht Trade Consortium being one of the co-founders and major shareholders along with the Italian Luise Group. As A1 Group’s Makis Pavlatos remarks, “Having created what was at the time, a first-of –its-kind agency in Greece but always looking for ways to offer service to our customers cruising further afield, the concept of BWA Yachting was a vehicle to grow the agency more internationally. It is very gratifying today to see BWA and A1 combine in this way, bringing things full circle.” Ultimately you, our clients are the central focus, so planning is underway for 2022 as BWA Yachting Greece, a staggering 50 or so more office locations will be seamlessly integrated into the BWA Yachting Mediterranean offer. Adding this wonderful cruising ground gives you an even wider choice of destinations in which BWA Yachting can assist you.

Discover Rhodes, the island of the god Sun, of god Apollo, the island of the Colossus and the Knights, an island with a history of centuries, a crossroads of people and culture, home of Olympians and philosophers...
An emerald island with incomparable natural beauty, wonderful sunlight and unique hospitality, Rhodes is the ultimate luxurious charter destination offering everything your heart desires. Brimming with mythological and historical stories to tell, Rhodes is widely accepted as one of the most stunning island hotspots and jewel of the Med. With a hospitable local community of residents, Rhodes invites travellers from far and wide to meet, feel and experience the natural beauty, the cultural identity and the unique hospitality of this Dodecanese island.
Cultural History Rhodes, an island with a history of 4000 years. Throughout the centuries Rhodes has been inhabited by various people: Telchines, Carians, Phoenicians, Minoans and Dorians, having built the three major cities: Lindos, Kamiros and Ialyssos, who in 408 BC, created the city of Rhodes. The island has been a centre of economic and cultural exchange between people throughout the ages. Its strategic position brought great wealth to the island and made the city of Rhodes one of the prominent cities of Ancient Greece. Famous works of art include the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the seven wonders of the world, built in 282 BC by the Lindian sculptor Haris, until 226 BC when a strong earthquake hit Rhodes and the statue of the Colossus collapsed. At the crossroads of three continents, Rhodes experienced many civilizations who each left their own imprint on the island, including the Romans, the Byzantines, the Knights of St. John, the Ottomans and the Italians until its unification in 1948 with Greece.
Medieval Artefacts Rhodes' Medieval City is one of the most beautiful Old Towns in the Mediterranean, making its protected status as UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988 no surprise. A mosaic of myriad historical periods, dominated by the Knights Templar and the Ottoman Empire. The Knights of St. John of Jerusalem arrived in Rhodes in 1310 AD. Upon their arrival, the Medieval City was enriched with Gothic and Renaissance elements. Palaces, towers, churches, arches and cobbled streets await to charm visitors and paint Rhodes' unique cultural identity today. The Palace of the Grand Master (Castello) is a magnificent monument during the Knights of St. John’s era. Its halls, houses and important exhibitions are a must-see on any tour of the island. Similarly, the Archaeological Museum is located in the Gothic building of the great hospital of the Knights and houses masterpieces of Rhodes art, where visitors will find artefacts from ancient Ialyssos and Kamiros, and mosaic floors from the city of Rhodes. A walk down Knights Street, the imposing road that leads to the Palace of the Grand Master, will transport visitors back to an ancient time where the accommodations of the "languages" of the Knights Order can still be seen.
The Medieval City of Rhodes is one of the few functional medieval cities in the world, which continues to be inhabited and alive while retaining much of its ancient glory. It is worth visiting the Castle of the Virgin, the Virgin of Burgos, the Clock, the Synagogue and the mosques of Suleiman and Recep Pasha.
Modern Metropolis Past meets present in seamless harmony in Rhodes' bustling city centre. Only here will you find castles, neoclassical buildings and Italian architecture all along the same street. Imposing Italian buildings dominate the seafront of Rhodes, a modern cosmopolitan city. In the historic centre stands Rοdon hotel, the buildings of Italian architecture where nowadays are housed in the City Hall, the Region and the Post Office, the church of the Annunciation, the National Theater and of course the small fawn statues, a notable trademark of Rhodes. Enjoy a walk in the picturesque marina of Mandraki, where yachts set against the backdrop of the castle walls make for an unforgettable image. For any wishing to venture out to the so-called Marasia, the settlements and neighborhoods just outside the city centre are well worth a trip. Following the coastal line you will find the Aquarium of Rhodes, the most important scientific center for the study of marine life in Greece. You can also browse the Municipal Gallery, the second largest gallery in Greece after that of Athens and the Gallery of Modern Greek Art, the Nestorideio Melathro in Ekato Chourmadies.
Lindos Lindos is one of the most impressive villages of Rhodes and one of the most popular tourist destinations worldwide. Instantly recognisable for its collection of chalk white houses set against an imposing backdrop, Lindos is a traditional village with a rich history and naval tradition. It is also the birthplace of Kleovoulos one of the seven sages of antiquity and Charis, the sculptor, who created the statue of the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the world’s seven wonders of the world. Lindos, a village with unique beauty with the Acropolis of Lindos, dominates the top of the rock where the settlement is built amphitheatrically. Sights such as the temple of Lindia Athena built in the 4th century BC, the headquarters of the Knights, the church of Agios Ioannis, the port of Agios Pavlos will impress you. Visit the great Captain Houses with the courtyards with pebble mosaics, the wooden painted ceilings and the Lindian dishes on the walls. The village is brimming with souvenir shops, a wonderful labyrinth of cobbled streets, restaurants and bars that make Lindos so full of life both during the day and well into the night.
