The star of the show in sailing yachts since the mid 1960s, Nautor Swan is set to debut their newest power yacht, Arrow, at the Cannes Yachting Festival , September 10-15, 2024. Launched August 28, 2024 at the Sanlorenzo La Spezia shipyard, this elegant, sporty, functional sister cygnet is destined to mature at light speed after her global reveal.

Designed by Nautor Swan power division designer Jarkko Jamsén, with interiors by Ioanna Marinopoulou and Axel de Beaufort, Arrow features a contemporary design with wide open spaces that invite longer, more leisurely cruise experiences. Initially intended to be categorized as a chase boat, Arrow proved her prowess as a stand alone day boat in part due to a rapidly increasing fan base.

The first ever Nautor Swan powerboat launched was the Swan Shadow, followed by an inboard version, the Swan OverShadow, which debuted at Cannes in 2023. As Nautor Group President Leonardo Ferragamo noted, "When it was launched the result was overwhelming as it became a boat of its own, creating its specific niche in our waters and becoming a great day boat." That passion exhibited by the team and shared by the market led to the Swan Arrow, a 75-foot motor yacht displaying the totemic Swan DNA.

Arrow By The Numbers

The Nautor Swan Arrow is built in advanced composites using a mix infused with GRP and carbon. The walkaround design emulates that of a superyacht, but in a more nimble, highly usable format, using less fuel in a more intimate atmosphere. Focused on interaction with the sea, side opening platforms creates a 548 square foot (50 square meter) beach area that floats just above sea level. Convenient fold-down steps take guests right down to the water.

Designed for comfort, Arrow is versatile in helping guests to enjoy time on board regardless of weather.

Her displacement hull measures 76 feet (23.20 meters) with a 22 foot (6.90 meter) beam and a 6 foot 3 inch (1.90 meter) draft. Her maximum speed is 30 knots in the standard arrangement using two Volvo 1350 D13 Penta IPS engines, or 40 knots with the optional arrangement employing three of the same.

Arrow accommodates six to eight guests and two crew. Descending the stairs, guests looking to port find a dedicated galley that serves the aft master cabin. Reaching across the full beam, the master cabin space boasts a walk-in closet, ensuite bath, and stylish materials typical of Nautor Swan heritage.

Amidships, a VIP cabin and twin cabin, both en suite, deliver private guest spaces. An alternative layout offers two large double cabins with a lounge embracing a starboard salon, L-shaped sofa, and dining area. Away from guest areas, crew space for two is located further forward.

Roy Capasso, Motoryacht Commercial Director and Regional Director SEMEA and Americas, summarized, "When starting the Swan Arrow project we began with attentively listening to our clients and a detailed analysis of the market. The results, together with the creativity of our designer and the expertise of a qualified team have allowed us to introduce a new concept with some features missing in motoryachts of this size, answering the needs of their owners."

On The Horizon

Founded in 1966, Nautor Swan is universally recognized for its performance Maxi yachts and Club Swan Racing yachts, as well as leisure sailing yachts, all built with an elegant, high quality style emphasizing innovation, reliability, and performance. The addition of a power division at Nautor Swan embellishes the brand with a broad appeal, bridging the gap that once separated power versus sail preferences with one brand.

An agreement between Sanlorenzo and Swan for the acquisition of Nautor Swan Group was announced August 1, 2024, but the continuity of the brand is assured through the leadership of Nautor Swan, helmed by Leonardo Ferragamo, retaining the office of President, Massimo Perotti as CEO, and Giovanni Pomati as co-CEO.

The Arrow is not the only Swan with a scheduled debut at the Cannes Show. The Swan Maxi 88 sailing yacht will make her debut, along with the Club Swan 43 . The Swan 88, designed by Germàn Frers with interiors by Misa Poggi, is expected to earn as many admiring looks as the Arrow. The Club Swan 43, designed by Juan Kouyoumdjian, is intended to serve as a racing and cruising crossover enhanced by top of industry technology for competitive one-design sailing and a comfortable cruising environment.

The Costa Smeralda provides a stunning setting and a variety of challenging conditions for the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, one of the highlights of the Mediterranean yachting season. The first Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup (known then as the Maxi World championship) was held in Sardinia in 1980. The brainchild of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and its president, the Aga Khan, the regatta is now an eagerly anticipated annual event attracting a sizeable fleet of majestic maxi yachts to Porto Cervo each September.

Shipyards: Delphia buys Maxi Yachts

Delphia, the largest Polish series manufacturer, is thus expanding its portfolio with a renowned brand name that stands for quality and sportiness. It is not yet known which of the existing Maxi models Delphia will continue to build and whether the two-handed racer announced a year ago will now be realised. In any case, the shipyard wants to be able to guarantee the production of maxi yachts to the highest standard thanks to its state-of-the-art production facilities and its many years of experience in building sailing and motor yachts, according to a statement. By its own admission, the company has been able to develop strongly in recent years and "build up a dynamic international dealer network in parallel", according to the Poles.

Maxi 1200 boat test

Swedish style from a Polish yard – this innovative new Maxi is designed by Pelle Petterson, and has some interesting new ideas for ease of handling and control, finds Pip Hare

delphia maxi yachts

Product Overview

Manufacturer:.

The Maxi 1200 is the second model to be produced from the Delphia yard and is aiming to take this trusted brand in a new direction. For the first time Petterson has teamed up with Tony Castro to design the interior and the results have been heralded as a breath of new life to the Maxi brand.

Founded by two Polish brothers in 1990, Delphia Yachts is now the third largest yacht manufacturer in Europe. It has a workforce of around 600, one of the biggest CNC machines on the continent and already produces an impressive array of sailing and motorboats, handling everything in-house.

But despite the success of the yard there still seemed to be a certain something missing from its sailing boat range, something that would appeal to serious European cruisers and it looked towards the Scandinavians for the answer.

In 2012 Delphia bought the Maxi brand, and with it a whole Swedish package of heritage, quality and reputation which it hopes will do the trick.

Test sail in Palma

I flew out to Palma to test sail the Maxi 1200 and find out whether it had what it takes to seduce the toughest of sailors.

At the grand age of 82, Olympic and America’s Cup veteran Pelle Petterson designed this boat to be sailed easily by one person – not necessarily single-handed, but to be a pleasant experience for someone to be alone on deck. This philosophy of easy, hassle-free sailing is a continuous theme running through every aspect of the boat, exemplified by the ergonomic layout of controls at the after end of the cockpit, where a triangle of waist-high winches set on pedestals in easy reach of both helming positions is more reminiscent of a Class 40 cockpit than a cruising boat.

Maxi 1200

To keep the decks clutter-free, all lines appear from underneath covers, lead to their respective winches and then snake out of sight into generous-sized and well-sited lockers, keeping mess out of the bottom of the cockpit and the decks safer for crew.

Of particular note was the arrangement for the jib sheets and jib car control lines, which are both led back to the primary winches beneath a raised step in the teak deck (teak comes as standard), providing both a raised position for crew to sit out and a way to divert water rushing down the deck away from the cockpit.

It felt natural and easy for me to handle the boat alone upwind. I could perch on the windward side with the carbon wheel in one hand and electric mainsheet winch controls exactly under the fingers of my other hand. To trim the genoa, I simply stood up, dropped down to the leeward wheel, using well placed grab handles, and was then standing at the winch to wind in or ease out.

Stand up to trim

Standing up to trim on primary winches is a revelation; it is kind to the knees and back, and this Maxi 1200 offers multiple places to brace yourself and work. I rather hogged the wheel on our test sail and, of course, took the opportunity to tack, gybe and trim sails single-handed, which seemed so easy compared with scrabbling around the raceboats I am used to. I felt I was gliding around the back of the boat.

DSC_0956

Upwind we made good speed with a light helm; in 12 knots TWS we averaged around 6.8 knots of boat speed at a TWA of around 50°. Doubtless a lower true wind angle beating could be achieved using in-haulers on the headsail, as the jib cars are sited on the deck rather than the coachroof and therefore make quite a wide base.

However, I guess this comes down to your own sailing philosophy – easy miles or squeezing every ounce from your boat. Adding in-haulers would certainly disrupt the clean and calm exterior of this boat.

Maxi 1200 In Palma

Standing up to helm upwind, I felt a little precarious with only one foot chock on the high side and almost the full 3.75m of beam below me. But when I mentioned this to my hosts from Delphia Yachts, co-founder Wojciech Kot and his neice Ewa, they announced they already have plans to put another two foot chocks in later boats.

Steering from the leeward side is comfortable and allows a fantastic view of the jib telltales; however when heeled well over I had absolutely no idea what might be approaching to windward.

Mainsheet arrangement

The mainsheet arrangement is perhaps the boldest statement of the Maxi’s simple sailing philosophy and definitely a step away from the traditional set-up. The mainsheet comes straight down to a central, reversible, electric winch on a pedestal in the centre of the cockpit, at the end of the cockpit table.

There is no traveller and the mainsheet itself is a single line, led directly to the winch.

DCIM100GOPRO

I must admit I was surprised by this arrangement – without a traveller how can you trim the main properly upwind? Can an electric winch really dump a mainsheet quickly? But actually the more I played around with the system, the better I accepted the compromise in the interest of simplicity.

In reality, when a traveller is set over the top of a coachroof – perhaps as much as halfway back from the end of the boom – how much greater effect does it have in controlling mainsail leech tension than the kicker and how effective is it at bringing the end of the boom onto the centreline? I know on many boats with these arrangements the traveller is often too heavy to trim easily or is even seized up from lack of use.

The decision to do away with a traveller seems a bold one, however. What the Maxi offers as an alternative is a mainsheet at the end of the boom for maximum effect, with an electric winch that comes as standard and has enough power to pull the leech down as hard as you need. The reverse function on the electric winch allows you to spill wind responsively and the winch itself is not far away from the helm so if a bigger ‘dump’ is required, it is well within reach.

Maxi 1200 In Palma

The downsides of this system are all about lack of choice when trimming the main. Upwind the boom will never really be on the centreline and any deviation to fetching will result in easing the mainsheet rather than a traveller and so give a bit more twist in the mainsail than you might have chosen. But as with my observation on in-haulers, it depends on your philosophy as to whether this would bother you or not.

The only note of caution is that with the winch being placed up at waist level, when reaching or running, the mainsheet crosses the cockpit at an unusually high level, which might take crew standing in the cockpit by surprise when gybing.

Waist height winch

Waist height winch

Off the breeze we tried both white sails and a gennaker. Under gennaker, reaching at angles from 110°-130° TWA, the Maxi 1200 achieved speeds up to 9 knots, with no pressure on the helm and was a joy to sail. With the wind further behind us I was able to trim the gennaker from the primary winches while standing at the helm.

Without the gennaker the boat is docile and still achieved up to 7 knots reaching. In the gusts under gennaker the helm responded quickly and at under 7 tonnes I did not feel as if I was dragging too much extra weight around during the lulls. The boat seemed keen to make a reasonable speed in as little as 6 knots of wind.

Groupe Beneteau acquires Delphia Yachts & Maxi Yachts

delphia maxi yachts

The addition of Delphia Yachts to the group’s portfolio strengthens its presence in central and eastern European and Scandinavian markets. Groupe Beneteau announced its intention to acquire Delphia Yachts. Terms were not disclosed. Based in Poland, Delphia designs and builds sailboats and motoryachts under the Delphia Yachts and Maxi Yachts brands. It also builds boats for other manufacturers, including Groupe Beneteau. “This acquisition will further strengthen the group’s solid positions and is in line with its long-term strategy for sustainable and profitable growth,” said Hervé Gastinel, Groupe Beneteau CEO,  in an online statement,  adding that Beneteau plans to capitalize on Delphia’s “industrial capacity and expertise.” Delphia has built more than 25,000 boats since its founding in 1990. Last year, it had sales of $35 million (PLN 130 million), with $2.3 million (PLN 9 million) in net income. It employs 670 people. Beneteau expects the acquisition to be completed in the next three months. Delphia will retain a 20 percent ownership stake.

Beneteau said the acquisition will give the company an 18,000-square-meter production site in Poland that specializes on building outboard powerboats and small sailboats and will further strengthen the group’s product range in the liveaboard monohull sailing and river powerboat categories. It will also give the group wider distribution in central and eastern Europe, as well as Scandinavia.

History of Delphia Yachts

Founded in 1990, Delphia Yachts began in the landlocked city of Olecko, Poland. Despite its remote location, the company's founders, brothers Piotr and Wojciech Kot, envisaged building quality yachts that would dominate the nautical world. Encouraged by their passion for sailing and an innate sense of precision engineering, the entrepreneurial duo initially focused on the design and manufacture of sailing yachts and motorboats. Remarkably, what started as a small family business in a rented workshop, quickly evolved into one of the most successful yacht manufacturers in the world.

Delphia Yachts' reputation for craftsmanship, performance, and innovation led to rapid growth in the 90s and early 2000s. This culminated in the construction of a state-of-the-art production facility in Olecko in 2002. Meticulous attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the use of innovative materials and technologies soon propelled Delphia to the global stage. Their portfolio expanded to include luxurious motor yachts, robust sailing yachts, and innovative electric boats, each model showcasing Delphia's commitment to functionality, safety, and comfort. Delphia's success saw the acquisition of neighbouring Maxi Yachts, a luxury Swedish manufacturer, in 2012, further enhancing their standing in the global yachting industry.

Today, Delphia's headquarters remain in Olecko, Poland, but their boats grace waters worldwide. The company is part of the French multinational Group Beneteau, which took over in 2018. Despite changes in ownership, Delphia continues to uphold its legacy of craftsmanship, proving that meticulous design and manufacturing lead to superior nautical experiences. Whether a sailor is seeking adventure or tranquillity on the high seas, Delphia's diverse offerings cater to all, showcasing the enduring spirit of this thriving boat manufacturer.

Yachting Art Magazine

Delphia Yachts bought by the Beneteau group

July 13 2018

Written by Yachting Art Magazine

The French group Bénéteau, world N2 of the boat market, has announced the purchase of the Polish shipyard Delphia Yachts, major actor in the design, construction and marketing of sailboats and motorboats, under its own brands (Delphia and Maxi), or outsourced for other manufacturers.

Delphia Yachts bought by the Beneteau group

The takeover, which took place on July 12, comes just three days after the Beneteau group took over the Slovenian shipyard Seascape, one of the European leaders in the 4 to 8m sport sailboat market.

Consolidation continues in the boating industries, where the French group Bénéteau (Beneteau, Jeanneau, Lagoon, Prestige, Monte-Carlo Yachts, CNB, Wellcraft, Glastron, Scarab, Four-Winns, Seascape) is clearly at work, with the takeover of the Polish shipyard Delphia Yachts .

The acquisition of Delphia will take place through a Polish entity, of which Delphia Yachts will retain 20% of the capital.

Founded in 1990 and located in Olecko , Delphia Yachts is today one of the most important shipyards of Central and Eastern Europe.

The company, which employs 670 people, had a turnover of 130 million PLN last year, about 30 million euros, for a profit of 9 million PLN (2 million euros). Since its creation, it has built no less than 25,000 sailboats and motor boats.

This acquisition is part of the Bénéteau Group 's growth objectives announced in its Transform to Perform strategic plan drawn up by the chairman of its management board, Hervé Gastinel .

With Delphia Yachts , the French group can count on:

  • increasing its industrial capacities, with an 18.000m2 production site located in Poland and specialized in the construction of outboard motor boats and small sailboats, segments on which the Bénéteau Group is developing an offensive strategy;
  • increasing its development capabilities, with Delphia Yachts' new R & D and prototyping center; the intensification of its product offering on the segments of the monocoque sail and river motor boats;
  • internationalization, through the strong commercial presence of the Delphia Yachts and Maxi Yachts brands (a Swedish brand name acquired by Delphia) in the Central European, Eastern and Scandinavian markets.

The acquisition of the Delphia Yachts business should be completed in the coming months, subject to obtaining the required regulatory approvals.

Hervé Gastinel , Chairman of the Bénéteau Group Management Board, commented on Yachting Art Magazine: "To support its development in the dynamic and strategic segment of outboard motor boats and small sailboats, the Bénéteau Group will rely on industrial and the know-how of the Delphia Yachts shipyard, this acquisition reinforces the Group's solidity and is part of its long-term strategy of sustainable and profitable growth ".

Delphia stops making sailboats

It seems like the Polish Shipyard Delphia will no longer be producing sailboats and concentrate fully on multi-hull and single hull motorboats.

Delphia True Yachts Logo

The very modern factory in Poland has announced on Sept. 1 2019 that production of Delphia Sailing Yachts have ended.

delphia maxi yachts

And since Delphia also owned the famous originally Swedish sailboat brand “Maxi Yacht” – I guess the Maxi 1200 will not be produced any longer either. Even the Maxi Yacht website is down as this is written. The Swedish Maxi Yachts has always been one of my favorites, due to the generally very high build quality and good all round performance.

I think it is sad – especially as right now we have the young generation coming out of the woodwork buying sailing boats in Scandinavia. Many new generation boaters was spotted in 28-35′ sailboats in Scandinavian harbors this summer. And I think that is the beginning of a trend reversal.

The young generation – of course – want to be more “Eco focused” and how can you enjoy a day on the water if it is not powered by the wind!

If nothing else we will have to thank Greta Thunberg for all the sailboat advertising over the past month. One can agree or disagree with motives and execution, but sailboats have not had as much advertising in years. So thank you Greta!

Here is the Delphia managements statement

As of September 1, 2019, Delphia Shipyard abandons production of Delphia sailboats. This decision is dictated by the decision to follow market trends, which currently represent more than 80% of motorboats and multihulls, as well as a more intense development plan for the Escape (formerly Nautika), BluEscape and Nano Line offer. The process of building a boat is complex and requires specialized technical knowledge. Delphia has the know-how, the experience and the advanced technology needed to make yachts of the highest quality and comfort. Using the most modern technologies and the best specialists, we build our boats in accordance with the highest standards of safety and perfection down to the last detail. We would like to thank all the customers and owners of Delphia sailboats for the trust and common creation of the history of these yachts in the waters of the whole world. At the same time, we inform that until the end of the warranty period already purchased sailboats, appropriate storage reserves will be retained to provide a complete and professional after-sales service. We would also like to thank all those who participated in the creation of our yachts, and in particular the remarkable yacht designer Andrzej Skrzat, without his excellent projects there would not be so many great Delphia sailing yachts models. We invite you to follow our offer and the activities of Shipyard Delphia. May the winds be favorable to you! Management of Delphia Shipyard.

I have noticed that in general this is an "unknown" manufacturer (though I think recently they acquired Maxi yachts). Nearly never discussed over the forum (well, at least search results don't really find anything). Is it because it's a small factory in comparison to the huge mass production names (Bav/Jean/Ben etc), so less sales volumes, less owners? How do they rate in comparison to the "usual" AWB? Anyone with experience with these boats? How do they last over time? Quality? They are built in Poland so I was wondering if they sell (and sail) at northern seas. Thanks

Looked at one at the show a few years back, quite impressed. The one PBO tested got fair comments, especially value for money at the time.

If you are planning to buy in the UK, a bit of research on the issues at least one forumite has had with Wittey Marine, the UK dealer, might be useful, although this was in connection with a different manufacturer.

Try Bosuns's Locker at Port Edgar. They use to be the distributor. There is a 29 next to me if I see the owner I will try to get his email address for you. Won't be for 3 weeks as I am away.

I am not interested about the UK dealer. Just asking for Delphia boats.

I know I can read. I thought an ex distributor/dealer might be able to help you with your question.

I have own Delphia 37 for two years before moving up to Delphia 40.3 in 2010. I strongly believe that they are better quality, stronger and more seaworthy yachts than others in similar price range. Contemplating moving up to Delphia 47 or Delphia 46cc in year or so. I did quite extensive research before choosing the Delphia 37 in 2008, this boats are modern but build with sailing big seas, with the structural grid fully glassed to the hull made of vinyl ester resin and Airex close cell rigid foam above waterline and on decks, there will be never issue with moisture and delimitation with is problems on boats built with balsa in sandwich. Last year Delphia 40.3 finished single handed around the world voyage via Cape Horn , in roaring forties , not many production boats accomplished this type sailing.

I bought a Delphia 40.3 end 2012, my previous ship was a Bavaria 370 (1991 )(in that time Bavaria’s were made strong) I was hardly surprised how strong the Delphia’s are build. The sailing properties are higher than expected. My Delphia has a lifting keel, and can fall dry : unforgettable to fall dry on the “Waddenzee” (NL) Nevertheless her draft of 1 to 1.95m and her extra ballast she makes it hard for a Jeanneau 41 feet to take me over. I am really happy with my Delphia 40.3

There are no Delphia Dealers in North America; Good Luck getting after sales service... Quality is ok, but at the end of the day, these guys are in Poland and... do they care once the boat is sold. I'd be weary of a companies that grow so fast and double and triple their production so quickly. Too many yacht manufacturers have gone bankrupt over the years. I would stick with a reputable brand.

I am pretty sure there's a Delphia Dealer in North America, i saw their booth at Chicago Boat Show last year 2013, on display was a Delphia 47.

Alas, a little post-script to this thread. Delphia yacht production ended in 2019. The whole yard was bought by the Benetau group. Prior to this, the yard was contracted to make Beneath/Jeanneau hulls - to the tune of 3000 hulls a year. Making this one of the largest yacht builders in Europe. They additionally produced their own brand and line of sailboats until 2019. Benetau group technically owns Delphia brand and all forms and drawings, but as far as I know, has no plans to resurrect them. Some powerboats are being marketed as Delphia still. Delphia yachts are known for their robustness and quality builds. The inspiration was clearly the Swedish producers like Najad, Malø and Halberg Rassey. At a bargain price relatively speaking. I doubt the prices the Delphia yard could command was sufficient to make the production profitable enough. These must have been expensive to build. The hulls were exceedingly good in the rough seas of the north - the Baltic, Kattegat, Skagerak and the North Sea. Deck equipment and rigging oversized and solid throughout. Stability high compared to production yachts. These are not made for light wind cruising in the Med, but for rough seas and challenging conditions. Generally they are not "over rigged" like aggressive club sailor, so you might need to add some downwind sails to get full speed in light conditions. In rougher weather however, you might find that Delphia yachts are the only ones sailing. The cockpits are protected and designed to keep the crew alive and well but less suited for sunbathing. My theory is the brand failed due to poor marketing, which was admittedly quite terrible, and perhaps a somewhat inconsistent exterior look. Some of the yachts are stunningly beautiful still, while others have a bit more utilitarian look. They could not command more premium prices compared to the Swedish, Danish and some of the smaller Ditch and UK boutique builders, and hence production folded. I know the D47 best having sailed it extensively and understandably a bit biased. But at this point, I would probably only trade it in for a Halberg Rassey of similar size. There is quite some variation in style, both interior and exterior. Delphia 47 is arguably a beauty and if you can find one, it might be a bargain although prices seem to increase. The Delphia 47 was sort of semi-custom build as far as interior goes, so the solutions vary quite a bit on the inside. Rigging and deck equipment, trusters and forth also vary. Structurally, it has a galvanised steel frame holding the keel and rig - making the structure exceedingly robust. Easy to maintain due to high quality components and easy access on both interior and deck. There is only 40 something Delphia 47 built, and not many on the market. Owners hold onto to these boats as a "replacement" is very hard to find. Delphia 47 is a stroke of genius if you ask me, the hull design in particular, a relatively sleek displacement hull with narrow front and a bit wider in the aft. Quite rounded and deep hull. Keel weight 4500kg, 2.30m draft, and the weight of the steel grid also probably about 800lkg or so. Glides through choppy seas better than most hulls and certainly better than the newer flatter designs. It's a bit sad that such boutique brands are disappearing. Sailboat manufacturing is probably hard to maintain at a scale of a boutique builder and fingers crossed that the few remaining are able to survive.

Company and Brand news

Beneteau Aquire Delphia Yachts (and Maxi Brand)

On July 12, 2018, Groupe Beneteau signed an agreement with the Polish yard Delphia Yachts with a view to acquiring its operations designing, building and marketing sailing and motor yachts under the Delphia Yachts and Maxi Yachts brands and for other firms (including Groupe Beneteau). This acquisition will be made through a Polish entity in which Delphia Yachts will retain 20% of the capital.

Founded in 1990 and based in Olecko, Delphia Yachts is now one of Central and Eastern Europe’s leading boat builders. Since 1990, it has built over 25,000 units. In 2017, it recorded revenues of PLN 130 million (c.€30 million), with PLN 9 million (c.€2 million) in income from ordinary operations, and it currently employs 670 people.

This acquisition is in line with the objectives for growth from the Group’s Transform to Perform strategic plan, particularly in terms of:

  • Increasing industrial capacity, with an 18,000 sq.m production site in Poland, specialized in building outboard motorboats and small sailing yachts, which the Group is developing a targeted strategy around;
  • Increasing development capacity, capitalizing on Delphia Yachts’ new prototyping and R&D center;
  • Further strengthening the product range in the liveaboard monohull sailing and river motorboat segments;
  • Developing the Group’s international capabilities, through the Delphia Yachts and Maxi Yachts brands’ strong commercial presence on the Central and Eastern European and Scandinavian markets.

The acquisition of Delphia Yachts’ business is expected to be completed within the next few months, subject to obtaining the regulatory approvals required.

“To support its development on the dynamic and strategic segment for outboard motorboats and small sailing yachts, Groupe Beneteau will be able to capitalize on Delphia Yachts’ industrial capacity and expertise. This acquisition will further strengthen the Group’s solid positions and is in line with its long-term strategy for sustainable and profitable growth”, confirms Hervé Gastinel, Groupe Beneteau CEO.

Subsequent press announcements indicate that the deal was completed

Maxi Yachts acquired by Delphia Yachts

*Maxi Yachts Update *

Maxi Yachts has been acquired by Polish boat builder, Delphia Yachts.

These details have been published on the Delphia Yachts website:-

Maxi Yachts has been always a synonymous with well-constructed vessels whose build quality has earned them great respect throughout the sailing world.   Most recently, the Maxi Yachts boatyard constructed 34-42 foot yachts, designed by world champion and Olympics medalist, Pelle Petterson. Since its establishment, the boatyard has released over 16 thousand vessels.   The core values of the Maxi brand are design, comfort and safety.   To own a Maxi yacht demonstrates one’s passion for the life at sea. The typical Maxi owner is a purist sailor seeking the perfect balance between the performance of a boat and the comfort it provides. The Maxi product range combines safety with build quality finished with an eye for the smallest detail. Experience in building yachts shines through in each craft’s functionality, ease of handling and uncompromising comfort for the crew, coupled with contemporary eye-catching Scandinavian styling.   Despite the unmistakable attention to detail and design, these vessels feature excellent nautical capabilities that have earned them loyal enthusiasts worldwide.   It is the firm opinion of Delphia Yachts Kot sp. j., that Maxi yachts deserves to continue to produce fine craft to allow future generations of sailors to forge their character onboard such excellent vessels.  Therefore, we regard the acquisition of Maxi Yachts as part of Delphia’s strategic development, going the extra mile to meet clients’ expectations, always seeking new solutions and continuously increasing our product range. The range currently features 10 sailboats, 3 house boats, and some 20 classic models of motorboats and speedboats. Maxi models complement the current Delphia lineup and therefore it is our intention to breathe new life into such beautiful and inspired designs.   Delphia Yachts is a constantly growing company, constantly seeking new challenges. We feel that acquiring Maxi Yachts presents a great challenge – one that takes preparation, investment and time to achieve the desired results. By acquiring Maxi, we are able to expand our dealership network and establish our leading position in a market inspired by such legends and icons of sailing style as Pelle Petterson.   All Maxi yachts will be produced at Delphia Yachts shipyard. At first Delphia plans to restart the production of existing models (Maxi 1300, Maxi 1060 and SM 40) and hopes for the future increase of Maxi Yachts fleet. The positioning of Maxi brand remains unchanged.   It is generally appreciated that yacht building is a highly complex process requiring specialized technical knowledge and skill.   At Delphia Yachts, we combine these attributes with experience, passion and advanced technology allowing us to create a superlative product which will be evident in the first models of Maxi Yachts to leave our production line.
