Horizon Power Catamaran Delivers PC60

Built for experienced American owners, this latest PC60 features the latest lithium battery technology.

“A year of intense planning, measuring, technical drawings, photos, floor and wall samples, fabrics, tiles, batteries, generators, pumps, systems, floor plans and more, completely consumed our life while we went through the ‘Christmas List’ of choices and options for our newly-planned Hull 22,” says the owner of the brand new Horizon PowerCat PC60. Christened Homarus in a private ceremony held in Florida, this latest PC60 was commissioned for experienced owners who knew exactly what they wanted on their sixth boat.

Avid cruisers with commercial fishing experience, (hence the name HOMARUS, the Latin genus of lobster) the owners paid particular attention to the mechanicals of their new yacht and worked with the Horizon team on numerous customizations to accommodate their plans to live aboard year-round, including the installation of a state-of-the-art Dometic Spot Zero watermaking system as well as the latest lithium battery technology.

The owners specified a four-stateroom layout comprised of a full-beam master suite on the main deck, a VIP on suite and twin cabin in the starboard hull, and a twin on suite in the port hull. On the main deck, the owners redesigned the standard galley/bar arrangement in the salon and incorporated a large seating area opposite.

The air-conditioned and enclosed flybridge has been specified with a bar and dayhead opposite a seating and dining area. Space for a stationary exercise bike was also fitted in this space. A BBQ grill and freezer on the boat deck extends the al fresco entertaining options.

Powered by twin Cummins diesels of 705hp each, which afford a range of 551nm @ 18 knots, Homarus will cruise throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean, up the East Coast of the United States and into Canada and back. For Sale: Horizon Power Catamarans 60

For those in the market for an owner-operator-friendly yacht, but who may want to add the occasional captain or mate, consider Salus , a Horizon Power Catamarans PC60 currently listed with Worth Avenue Yachts. The 2022 power catamaran features an on-deck master stateroom and an all-weather flybridge.

The salon and galley feel spacious, even with Salus having the on-deck master layout, thanks to the yacht’s 24-foot-6-inch beam and an efficient use of the space. An L-shaped sofa runs the length of the room to port and adjacent to the galley’s three-stool bar. The galley has Corian countertops and backsplashes along with a number of meal-prep appliance, including:

The on-deck master benefits from the powercats big beam by placing the en suite head into the port hull. Panoramic vistas and natural light are aplenty with the raked windows forward and side windows flanking the suite, bathing the walkaround king berth and vanity desk in natural light.

Belowdecks, guests will find the en suite VIP stateroom forward in the starboard hull with a queen berth. The crew cabin is abaft the VIP stateroom in the starboard hull while the final guest cabin is in the port hull, abaft the space dedicated to the master head, with side-by-side twin berths.

The all-weather flybridge is a comfortable spot to retreat from the sun while staying connected to the environment. The open after section has a sun shade that connects to stainless-steel posts. Or guests can move under the hardtop and unzip the aft door and Sea Crylic side windows. When the tender is deployed, the open after section of the flybridge is a blank slate for loose furniture. Under the hardtop is a three-person bar to port and an L-shaped dinette to starboard, abaft the helm station on centerline. There is companion bench seating to port and starboard.

In the cockpit, a fixed table is separate from the transom bench seating, creating two distinct zones on the aft deck, a formal dining space forward and a lounge aft. 

The foredeck and wide side decks have high rails for safe transit around the power cat. Twin 705 hp Cummins QSM11 diesels provide a 23-knot top hop and an 18-knot fast cruise. The PC60 has a 420-nautical-mile range.
