New to the forum - joined specifically to find a good home for my old MRP Fountain 44 inch boat. I had intended to revamp this boat, but I really don't have the time or space to hold onto it forever, and there seems to be an interest in old MRP boats out there. Obviously used condition. No cracks, no abuse. I have a second never completed canopy (shown in picture) because I actually had 2 of these boats at one point. I have many additional decals from the original package. As shown in picture, I have the original box. I also have 2 original assembly manuals which is nice to have. This boat was outfitted with an optional added two motor (single prop) assembly and was pretty quick in my opinion. No electronics included- they are currently all in my Traxxis villan. I do not have the original prop as I attempted to use it on another boat at one point and ruined it. I was considering placing this on ebay (and may still do so if there isn't any interest here). Not so sure how much money to ask for this - would be happy for any suggestions, but thought maybe $40, and then I have to calculate shipping with insurance additionally. I would be happy to add pictures or answer specific questions Thanks for looking, thanks for any interest or comments. I also have a MRP Bud Light tunnel hull that I could sell, but it is in less good shape and the outboard unit has not worked in some time. Chris

1st: welcome to the community 2nd: You can do better than $40... these are classics. You should be able to get more but do check on shipping - it should be around $20. Here is my " revamp " thread and video and another of potential. The refurbishment took probably a total of 15-20 hours over the course of a couple weeks. It tends to happen faster when you have all the hardware already.... Since this is an old hull, one question to answer and help with interest: Any damage (cracks, scratches or holes) and more importantly how much sun damage - ABS tends to get crumbly with too much UV. These should be documented so buyer knows EXACTLY what he is getting into.
"Look good doin' it" See the fleet
Thanks for the advice and info Jesse J. It's hard to quantify the amount of sun this hull has had- but I has always been stored inside and inside it's box - never left sitting in the sun. Basically the only time it would have been in the sun was when it was running... There is no significant damage that I can see, no cracks. The only holes are the drilled and intentional for servos, antenna and drive shaft. Thanks Chris
Does it have all the running hardware ?
i have an two esc's that would go perfect in this boat
I have an assortment of MRP motors which are probably junk compared to anything these days (MRP MS-1 times 2, MRP MS2 times 1 and MRP MS3 times 1). I wasn't planning on including them because I didn't think anyone would want/need them - but I'm happy to include them. The rudder and rudder mount are intact. I have a motor mount for single motor use. I have the installed twin motor "permformance upgrade" with the original gears which are plastic (nylon I guess). There is the installed prop shaft and sleeve and then I have an extra shaft and sleeve also. I think that about does it for any running hardware. Again there are no electronics (speed controller, servo, receiver, transmitter). Hope this helps. Chris
do you still have this boat?
yup, I still have the boat - no changes from above.

How much bro?
beating amsoil boat. 1 race at a time !!!
In my original post I thought $40 (then add an anticipated $20 shipping) might be good... JesseJ thought I should get more, but I'm not looking to "make" a ton of money on this - just want someone who's really into this stuff to get something that's difficult to find these days.
Got any pics of the tunnel hull?
I'll post some pictures of the tunnel hull in the next couple days - don't have time right now... I'll probably start a different thread and reference that thread here. Thanks
can u send me pics of the fountain ,i had one when i was a kid would love to buy it from u , i will give u the $40 plus shipping email me [email protected]

My name is Peter and I received my Basic Amateur Radio License in 1991. I first started in amateur radio with my dad (Harold Surette the former VE1ALL) when I was growing up. I spent many hours in the ham shack with dad watching him build projects and listening to him work a lot of CW with his Vibroplex bug. As a father/son project, I was able to help dad build a Heath Kit HW-101 from a kit. After a few long months of building, we took the rig to Tex Matheson (VE1AAX) for a final tune up and off we went to the airwaves. It was some feeling when the first contact was made. After moving to Truro in 1988, I missed the radio and decided it was time to get my license. With the help of “B” VE1ALU and Harold, the former VE1AA, I wrote the test for my Basic License and Morse code, and later went on to receive my Advanced License. Ann, (VA1ANN) my XYL is also an Advanced Amateur and a great CW operator. I am also the owner of the Maritime Swap Shop which takes place on Monday evenings at 7:30 Atlantic Time on the frequency of 3.750. This was turned over to me from the late Max Ross (VE1QM) who was the founder the Maritime Swap Shop. Since taking this venture, I sure have learned a lot about amateur radio equipment and have enjoyed very much helping amateurs to either sell or find items. I have also since learned, a needle in the haystack can be found! Hi Hi. I also am the Maritime Net Control Manager, which was handed over to me from Hugh VE9HC. The Maritime Net meets every evening at 7 pm Atlantic Time on the frequency of 3.750. The Maritime Net is very fortunate to have a dedicated group of operators who are very faithful to their evenings and their controlling. |

This motor will provide an additional 115hp and will run much easier that the original 454 which was rated at 310 - 330hp. One great thing about this boat is the size of the engine compartment. You can literally sit inside and work on the engine eye-level so changing oil, spark plugs, starter, etc is super easy.

General Q & A - 2 stage sea pump rebuild - Thought I would rebuild while the engine was out. Had no problems with the pump. Ordered the basic kit. Took it apart today and found the rear bearing is toast. Does anyone have a clue what the number is? Thought maybe I could pick it up at a bearing supply house. It's a
