Your off to good start. Put an ad on here with pictures of good and bad. Price seems to be a crap shoot anymore.

Facebook marketplace is more popular then Craigslist now.

I Hate to say it but the other FB web site has lots of traffic. Market place also, CL, cheetah if they have site or insta..

I also hear offer up is a good place.

No bad days.

Here and FB is where I would list. Wouldn't mess with craigslist or boat trader. Whip Trader Classifieds, The Original Powerboat Swap Shop and Lower River Junkies are a couple of sites I would start with. You are in the ball park with your price and should move it quick.

I've had good luck selling boats and other stuff on this site.

FB MP is the go to for online sales at this point. Just be prepared to be bombared with questions like "is it still available?" "will you take a miata on trade?" etc... lots of lookey loos. But thats where the bulk of the traffic is going to be. This site I'm sure would be good, just realize the majority of people join a boating website because they already have boats.

Interesting responses. My go-to is always craigslist, that's where I bought my M3 and sold it a few months ago. Same for the boat and jetskies transactions but those were years ago. I have only been on offer up once, and I don't use FB much besides chatting and business. Good to know maybe I should try them

if i list on CL i normally buy a "burner" phone and use it only for that, cuts down on your primary phone ringing at 2 in the morning. i normally put a couple pics in the add, and then make sure to say i can take pics of anything specific anyone needs.

The 24' enclosed trailer I just sold got the most hits off craigslist. Although most were definitely scams or lowballs, the full price buyer also came from there.

hawgty55

I like the tactic on this thread but dont you list on every site you can for the most exposure like everyone else? I mean if you dont want to sell it do what you just did on this thread and leave it at that.

TimeBandit

Boat trader, two pictures for two weeks for $60 got me the most responses. Facebook marketplace and craigslist also got responses.

it depends on your physical location, in the inland empire offer up is really good, here in havasu it isnt worth a shit. facebook marketplace and specific buy and sell groups has been pretty good for me on what i do, so has craigslist for everyday items. craigslist charging for vehicle ads now sucks as a buyer just looking around for a good deal or a specific vehicle for sale. also as a seller i feel paying for a cl ad (granted is 5 bucks) has created a smaller audience of potential buyers since most vehicle ads are from dealers. overall if its priced correctly it will sell.

Dkahnjob

I recently sold 2 boats. I advertised in multiple places and by far the most activity and the buyer came from FaceBook Market Place.

I'll be putting up a proper add later today. Hitting Elsinore early tomorrow morning to burn down some gas and make sure everything is still working as expected. Very slim possibility I tow this thing out to the Damn Dam Run for one last go around. We'll see how the day goes.

I deal my stuff thru Maxed Out Marine (buy and sell). Worth it not to have to deal with the BS of tire kickers and assholes.

All cleaned up and headed to Elsinore tomorrow. Add should be posting in the classifieds shortly. https://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/threads/98-24ft-cheetah-fast-cat-deck-boat.221687/

New to the forum - joined specifically to find a good home for my old MRP Fountain 44 inch boat. I had intended to revamp this boat, but I really don't have the time or space to hold onto it forever, and there seems to be an interest in old MRP boats out there. Obviously used condition. No cracks, no abuse. I have a second never completed canopy (shown in picture) because I actually had 2 of these boats at one point. I have many additional decals from the original package. As shown in picture, I have the original box. I also have 2 original assembly manuals which is nice to have. This boat was outfitted with an optional added two motor (single prop) assembly and was pretty quick in my opinion. No electronics included- they are currently all in my Traxxis villan. I do not have the original prop as I attempted to use it on another boat at one point and ruined it. I was considering placing this on ebay (and may still do so if there isn't any interest here). Not so sure how much money to ask for this - would be happy for any suggestions, but thought maybe $40, and then I have to calculate shipping with insurance additionally. I would be happy to add pictures or answer specific questions Thanks for looking, thanks for any interest or comments. I also have a MRP Bud Light tunnel hull that I could sell, but it is in less good shape and the outboard unit has not worked in some time. Chris

1st: welcome to the community 2nd: You can do better than $40... these are classics. You should be able to get more but do check on shipping - it should be around $20. Here is my " revamp " thread and video and another of potential. The refurbishment took probably a total of 15-20 hours over the course of a couple weeks. It tends to happen faster when you have all the hardware already.... Since this is an old hull, one question to answer and help with interest: Any damage (cracks, scratches or holes) and more importantly how much sun damage - ABS tends to get crumbly with too much UV. These should be documented so buyer knows EXACTLY what he is getting into.
"Look good doin' it" See the fleet
Thanks for the advice and info Jesse J. It's hard to quantify the amount of sun this hull has had- but I has always been stored inside and inside it's box - never left sitting in the sun. Basically the only time it would have been in the sun was when it was running... There is no significant damage that I can see, no cracks. The only holes are the drilled and intentional for servos, antenna and drive shaft. Thanks Chris

Does it have all the running hardware ?

i have an two esc's that would go perfect in this boat
I have an assortment of MRP motors which are probably junk compared to anything these days (MRP MS-1 times 2, MRP MS2 times 1 and MRP MS3 times 1). I wasn't planning on including them because I didn't think anyone would want/need them - but I'm happy to include them. The rudder and rudder mount are intact. I have a motor mount for single motor use. I have the installed twin motor "permformance upgrade" with the original gears which are plastic (nylon I guess). There is the installed prop shaft and sleeve and then I have an extra shaft and sleeve also. I think that about does it for any running hardware. Again there are no electronics (speed controller, servo, receiver, transmitter). Hope this helps. Chris

do you still have this boat?
yup, I still have the boat - no changes from above.

beating amsoil boat. 1 race at a time !!!
In my original post I thought $40 (then add an anticipated $20 shipping) might be good... JesseJ thought I should get more, but I'm not looking to "make" a ton of money on this - just want someone who's really into this stuff to get something that's difficult to find these days.

I'll post some pictures of the tunnel hull in the next couple days - don't have time right now... I'll probably start a different thread and reference that thread here. Thanks

My name is Peter and I received my Basic Amateur Radio License in 1991. I first started in amateur radio with my dad (Harold Surette the former VE1ALL) when I was growing up. I spent many hours in the ham shack with dad watching him build projects and listening to him work a lot of CW with his Vibroplex bug.

As a father/son project, I was able to help dad build a Heath Kit HW-101 from a kit. After a few long months of building, we took the rig to Tex Matheson (VE1AAX) for a final tune up and off we went to the airwaves. It was some feeling when the first contact was made.

After moving to Truro in 1988, I missed the radio and decided it was time to get my license. With the help of “B” VE1ALU and Harold, the former VE1AA, I wrote the test for my Basic License and Morse code, and later went on to receive my Advanced License.

Ann, (VA1ANN) my XYL is also an Advanced Amateur and a great CW operator.

I am also the owner of the Maritime Swap Shop which takes place on Monday evenings at 7:30 Atlantic Time on the frequency of 3.750. This was turned over to me from the late Max Ross (VE1QM) who was the founder the Maritime Swap Shop. Since taking this venture, I sure have learned a lot about amateur radio equipment and have enjoyed very much helping amateurs to either sell or find items. I have also since learned, a needle in the haystack can be found! Hi Hi.

I also am the Maritime Net Control Manager, which was handed over to me from Hugh VE9HC. The Maritime Net meets every evening at 7 pm Atlantic Time on the frequency of 3.750. The Maritime Net is very fortunate to have a dedicated group of operators who are very faithful to their evenings and their controlling.
