Sailing Yacht Twizzle is a 57.5-metre Performance Cruising Ketch launched in 2010 by the prestigious Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman. This elegant flybridge yacht Twizzle is the first vessel completely styled - inside and out - by Redman, Whiteley Dixon - with interior décor from Todhunter Earle Associates and her naval architecture is by the world renowned Dubois Naval Architects. She can accommodate up to eight guests in four cabins and has a crew of eleven.

Sailing Yacht TWIZZLE incorporates all the characteristics of a high-performance sailing yacht combined with comfort and amenities of a motor yacht. Dubois Naval Architects also reduced wetted surface and set a swing keel within the 3.8 m draft fixed keel. Lightweight composite materials are widely used in the rig and in components above the waterline whilst optimised beam and 120 tons of internal ballast secure stiffness and stability. The rig with a 62-metre mainmast was designed to clear Panama's Bridge of the Americas at low water and carries 1,780 m2 of sail.

Her elegant flying bridge of the yacht Twizzle, created by Justin Redman, features sophisticated profile with airiness and light below. In collaboration with Emily Todhunter, they designed stylish and comfortable accommodation abaft the engine room and crew forward. Amidship, above the engine-room, one can find the dining area and saloon and the main galley is situated on a mezzanine deck with a pilothouse on the raised deck.

Twizzle is an extraordinary, timeless, award winning yacht.  Twizzle was launched by Dutch yard Royal Huisman in 2011 and at this time, the 57.5m superyacht pushed the limits of what was considered possible for a sailing yacht, blending a focus on technology with beautiful design. Dubois Naval Architects were tasked with designing the custom yacht with a 3.8m minimum draft, so she can tuck into shallow anchorages around the world – her daggerboard extends to 10m when underway at full pace.

There are sailing superyachts that are built to cross oceans and those that are designed to win races. And then there is sailing yacht Twizzle, the world-roaming family cruiser that can also hold her own on a racecourse.

Twizzle is already a proven bluewater cruiser, having completed a circumnavigation. The sleek yacht cuts a gorgeous form on the water, and her interior is equally as commanding. Twizzle has been awarded for her charms many times over. Among her many accolades, she nabbed two ShowBoats Design Awards – for best interior design and best recreational area – and the ISS bestowed upon Twizzle the Best Superyacht Interior Design Award and Best Sailing Yacht Design Award.

Twizzle’s interior by acclaimed design house Redman Whiteley Dixon and Todhunter Earle, is intended to envelop guests in comfort. Every detail is considered to create a welcoming space, from the natural tones and stylish decor to the exacting attention to eye lines, seat levels and proportions. Acid-washed oak plays against chocolate-coloured lacquers, while the bathrooms are ensconced in pale, polished marbles. The addition of cashmere throws, soft leathers, woven linens and hand-painted silks creates an environment of extraordinary luxury set against the contemporary, cool interior.

The relaxed, comfortable interior has plush accommodations and her unique layout for up to eight guests features a vast, full-beam master suite, replete with owner’s study, two double suites and one twin with an additional Pullman. All of Twizzle’s staterooms have en suite showers and full media suites including Apple TV.

As Twizzle won an award for her recreation areas, it’s no surprise that these spaces shine. Her sheltered aft cockpit and main cockpit run seamlessly into the main salon. This creates a grand indoor-outdoor space where the entire family can lounge around, enjoying amazing vistas of the sea outside, gazing through Twizzle’s vast, wrap-around windows which look to be floating from the coach roof. These windows were a technological achievement as the largest ever produced by Yachtglass at the time of her build.

If a bit more excitement is desired, head up to the flybridge, were the yacht’s racing pedigree is truly felt. The performance cruising ketch was designed to excel at all wind speeds and directions, the sails hoisted in two minutes, and she is a force to be reckoned with on the superyacht racing circuit. Yet even when rounding the buoys at high speeds, Twizzle is incredibly stable and comfortable, and she is nimble and easy to handle when in cruising mode under charter, too.

While it’s doubtful you’ll tire of sailing the big boat, if you crave closer-to-the-water action switch over to one of the two Laser Pico sailing dinghies or windsurfers. As Twizzle settles into a picturesque harbour, gather on the customised stern platform to choose from this charter yachts well-endowed toy box. Royal Huisman’s first flybridge sailing yacht, Twizzle was conceived to create a high-performance sailing yacht with the comfort and amenity of a motor yacht. Unlike most large sailing yachts, the sails can be hoisted in a matter of minutes and Twizzle can sail in anything from 6 to 26 knots of wind.

An experienced owner has brought an exciting team together to create a stunning new project that lists three important “firsts” for Royal Huisman. The first:

• Yacht completely styled by the gifted team of Redman Whiteley Dixon, with Todhunter Designers providing interior decoration
• Build with naval architecture by Ed Dubois
• Sailing yacht with a flying bridge

The comprehensive involvement of the owners alongside the architects, the stylists and the yard motivates Royal Huisman.  It is a real working partnership within a stimulating team culture.

The owners have experience with previous yachts. For instance, a 47 meter Perini Navi and a 55 meter Feadship). They provide a well-informed focus for their team choices and challenges.  In addition, they have particular interests in technology and design. The owners also participate in frequent meetings at the yard, with the designers, and at their own offices. These meetings stimulate ideas and momentum.

Justin Redman and his team have responded to the brief with a graceful flying bridge offering sleekness, style, and amenity. Redman and Emily Todhunter defined the interior.  Owners’ and guests’ accommodation are abaft the engine room and the crew area forward. A central dining area and separate saloon are amidships above the engine room, with the main galley on a mezzanine deck and the pilothouse on a raised deck. Two 6.4 meter Castoldi tenders stow in a garage on the main deck, above the crew cabins.

She specifies calling for the amenity of a motor yacht within a high-performance sailing yacht.  Dubois reduced wetted surfaces and set a swing keel within a 3.8m-draft fixed keel. He optimized the beam, In addition, he added some 120 tons of internal ballast to improve stiffness and stability beneath 1.780m 2  of sail. The sails are on a ketch rig. The mainmast is just under 62 meters. This clears Panama’s Bridge of the Americas at low water.  Masts, deck hatches, and other components are of an advanced lightweight composite.  Additionally, PBO for rigging.

58m Royal Huisman sailing superyacht Twizzle sold

The 57.5 metre Royal Huisman sailing yacht Twizzle has been sold by Edmiston in an in-house deal, with Bruce Brackenhoff acting for the buyer and James Lloyd representing the seller.

Built in aluminium to a design by Dubois Naval Architects , Twizzle was launched in 2010 as the Royal Huisman's first flybridge sailing yacht. With one of the most advanced sailing rigs ever created, she offers impressive performance and carries 1,780 square metres of sail; both main and mizzen sails can be hoisted simultaneously in under two minutes.

Twizzle features a Southern Spars rig and is fitted with two custom carbon fibre masts and rollaway carbon booms. Dubois Naval Architects designed a swing daggerboard that increases the 3.8 metre draught to 11 metres, which can be lowered even when the yacht is sailing at full speed.

The interior by Redman Whiteley Dixon was designed to offer plenty of space and light with a raised pilot house design that allows for two saloons: one that serves as the main saloon and another that functions as an observation lounge or formal dining space forward.  Her interiors are light and airy with contemporary decor that makes use of acidwashed oak, polished marbles, soft leathers and cashmere.

Three guest cabins in addition to the master suite offer accommodation for a total of nine. All cabins have full en suite bathroom facilities, access to a Kaleidescape server with video and audio on demand and satellite television.

Twizzle ’s wide open deck areas are fully optimised for open-air living. The centre cockpit flows seamlessly from the main saloon, providing an intimate and sheltered area for relaxing and dining with panoramic views.

Twizzle had an extensive refit and Lloyd's 10-year class survey completed in 2021, which included an overhaul of the engines and generators, electrical and navigation upgrades and a servicing of all of her sailing systems. She also took delivery of new North sails in April 2022 including a new mainsail, mizzen and blade.

Under power, twin Caterpillar C32 engines give her a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots.

Twizzle  was asking €39,900,000 and was exhibited at the Monaco Yacht Show .

If a bit more excitement is desired, head up to the top deck, were the yacht’s racing pedigree is truly felt. The performance cruising ketch was designed to excel at all wind speeds and directions, the sails hoisted in two minutes, and she is a force to be reckoned with on the superyacht racing circuit. Yet even when rounding the buoys at high speeds, she is incredibly stable and comfortable, and she is nimble and easy to handle when in cruising mode too.

As Twizzle settles into a picturesque harbour, gather on the customised stern platform to choose from this charter yacht’s well-endowed toy box. From stand-up paddleboards and kayaks to snorkelling and dive gear, Twizzle has plentiful options including Flite boards for the more adventures and eBikes for guests who wish to explore the shore as well. Or get towed behind one of the two 6.4m Castoldi jet tenders on the kneeboard, wakeboard or waterskis.
