Amber grew up in Cape Town but has since been a traveler who has lived and worked on 4 different continents. Her love for food came from a very young age when she grew up sitting on the kitchen counter watching her father cook incredible meals inspired from all over the world. This developed her pallet widely and conjured a great passion for food! However, prior to completely committing to being a chef, she first did a degree in business, specializing in entrepreneurship and then a 200hour Internationally recognized yoga course. It was while living and teaching yoga in Thailand that she finally fell into her role as chef while at a Wellness retreat. From there the journey began and she sought out professional training in addition to her already strong base of ability. She is now in her happiest part of her life and career, chef on luxury catamarans for the past 4 years. A place to truly commit to the beauty of culinary experience, all while on a wonderful sailing adventure!

CMB Yachts launches 'Liquid Sky'

Designed by espen oeino, 'liquid sky' is the newest superyacht from turkish builder cmb yachts….

Liquid Sky , the newest GRP 47m displacement superyacht from Turkish builder CMB Yachts has been officially launched.

Powered by twin CAT Acert 32 engines located towards the stern of the superyacht, 2900hp affords the 490gt yacht a max speed of 15 knots and, at a cruise speed of 10 knots, a range of 3,000 nautical miles. How does this fair? Well according to SuperyachtIntelligence , not that favorably. The evidence suggests that a yacht of the same ilk launched since 2010 averages a cruise speed of 14.2 knots and a range of 3840 nautical miles.

But, while we can number-crunch all aspects of Liquid Sky till the cows come home, which in some cases can be useful, often it’s of minimal value. After all, you purchase a yacht with your heart not because of how impressive the data sheet looks, right?

This brings me nicely onto the exterior of the yacht; handsome, isn’t it?

Liquid Sky’s exterior profile hails from the drawing boards of Espen Oeino International Design and with it, an enormous amount of design know-how. It’s usually at this point I’d insert a small profile of the design house and notable projects authored by Oeino but, in truth, the design house needs no introduction.

Liquid Sky , on the face of it, is very conservative, sensible and familiar, but it’s a style that works. On the water, the quad-deck superyacht is incredibly elegant, thanks largely to its timeless design cues. Take the stern superstructure architecture – it’s akin to the lines of heritage Feadships and Benettis from the ’70s and ’80s.

Life aboard Liquid Sky has been the shared vision of Beril Basaran of Turkish design house Artebel Design. Accommodation for 10 is shared across the main and lower decks in a typical layout; owner’s suite forward of the main deck and remaining VIP and guest cabins below deck mid-ship. Forward of the guest cabin bulkhead are crew quarters for eight, while predictably the captain’s suite is attached to the bridge on the upper deck.

The upper deck features a ‘sky lounge’ which will frame spectacular views of the horizon thanks to the floor-to-ceiling glazing. Like much of the fleet launched in 2017, the sun deck is designed for dynamic and informal entertainment, while more formal and intimate parties can be hosted on the upper deck terrace or in the saloon.

Currently brokered through United Yacht and World Yacht Group, Liquid Sky , the first of the CMB47 range, will make its world premiere in November at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, where, I’m sure, it’ll attract a lot of attention. In the meantime, two more CMB47s are in-build, and with one more due to lay keel in November 2017 the Turkish yard will have an exciting and busy final quarter.

A part of the Basaran Group, CMB Yachts, literally translated as Success, have been expanding for over twenty five years through smart business ventures.

Liquid Sky measures 47.00 metres in length and has a beam of 8.90 feet.

Liquid Sky has a composite hull with a composite superstructure.

For over twenty-five years Espen Oeino International has been hard at work designing custom motor yachts for an international clientele from Japan in the East to Seattle in the West.

Her interior design is by Daniel Romualdez Architects.

Chef Amber  grew up in Cape Town but has since been a traveler who has lived and worked on 4 different continents. Her love for food came from a very young age when she grew up sitting on the kitchen counter watching her father cook incredible meals inspired from all over the world. This developed her pallet widely and conjured a great passion for food! However, prior to completely committing to being a chef, she first did a degree in business, specializing in entrepreneurship and then a 200hour Internationally recognized yoga course. It was while living and teaching yoga in Thailand that she finally fell into her role as chef while at a Wellness retreat. From there the journey began and she sought out professional training in addition to her already strong base of ability. She is now in her happiest part of her life and career, chef on luxury catamarans for the past 4 years. A place to truly commit to the beauty of culinary experience, all while on a wonderful sailing adventure!

Captain Simon is a professional yacht captain and dive master with a great passion for working and living on the water. Born in England, his keenness for the outdoors started young with a thirst for adventure leading to many destinations around the world. Being a Class V White Water Rafting Guide in New Zealand and riding his motorcycle from Canada to Argentina are just some of these experiences that have moulded him into a person who can thrive In a wide range of scenarios and environments. When it comes to yachting, his goal is to provide guests with an experience of a lifetime. He considers himself a very meticulous person with a keen interest in engineering and enjoy the problem solving that comes with being a captain. When he is not on the boat, he enjoys keeping fit and active, with surfing, kite surfing and mountain biking being three of his favourite hobbies.

Deckhand/Steward Anton is a dedicated and motivated Deckhand and Steward. He brings a diverse skill set to the table. Excellent in guest service and culinary arts, with a keen eye for detail. Punctuality, self-motivation, exceptional guest service and his great sense of humor fosters a positive environment. Russia, Chelyabinsk Oblast: Chelyabenergo completed a set of measures to create a grid infrastructure for the area in the southern part of the city of Magnitogorsk.
