The Best Among Popular Marmaris International Yacht Club was founded in 1992 by the yachtsmen and women of Marmaris. Prior to the formation of the club, these people would hold various amateur races between themselves but once the club was set up, they saw an opportunity to create an official get-together and organised the first Marmaris Race Week.

The MIYC has about 200 members today and each year during the Marmaris Race Week, hosts around 200 yachts and 2000 racers from all over the world.

The MIYC has also been the main body responsible for the organisation of the Marmaris Yacht Festival for many years. This is an international event which gives the local crewed charter yachts and local agencies to promote themselves and the Turkish coast as a charter destination.

MIYC has started the Yacht and Yacht Equipment’s Fair with a couple of stands on the first years of the festival. Now it has expanded its activity range with the yacht and yacht equipment’s fair by organizing it as a separate event since 2001. The fair is organized by the time of festival each year and it provides an extra potential to the region’s existing maritime business.

Marmaris International Yacht Club was founded in 1992 by yachtsmen from Marmaris. Before the establishment of the club, these yachtsmen organized various amateur races among themselves, and following the establishment of the club, they took the opportunity to turn this into an official meeting and organized the first Marmaris Race Week.

Today, MIYC has approximately 200 members and welcomes approximately 200 yachts and 2000 racers from all over the world at Marmaris Race Week every year.

MIYC has also been the main organizer of the Marmaris International Yacht Festival for many years. This international organization gives local crewed yachts and agencies the opportunity to promote themselves and Turkey as a charter destination.

In the first years of the festival, MIYC also started the Yacht and Yacht Equipment Fair with several stands. The club, which has been expanding this activity since 2001, runs the Yacht and Yacht Equipment Fair as a separate organization. The fair is organized every year during the festival and provides extra potential to the existing maritime industry in the region.

Marmaris International Race Week

Annual, October-November

26 October – 01 November 2019 ; International Marmaris Yacht Race Week is being organized annually by the Marmaris International Yacht Club (MIYC) in late October and early November. Marmaris Yacht Races is also a unique event in Turkey and in the world keeping its permanence for more than 20 years.

The MIYC has about 80 members today and each year during the Marmaris Race Week, hosts around 120 yachts and 1000 racers from all over the world. The boats are being categorized into six divisions by their IRC measurement system and the races take place as three inside cove and two open sea tracks.

It is the most suitable choice both for short or long term and for winter accommodation with your boat.

When it comes to yacht charter vacations, Turkey’s Marmaris needs no introduction. It’s a centre for superyacht’s travelling in from around the world and the summer months here come alive with visitor’s in search of the kind of hedonism only the Mediterranean can offer.

Located at the heart of the Turkish Riviera, Marmaris town is crowned by it’s famous Ottoman castle, perched atop a hill and overlooking to the pretty bay and beyond. Although eternally popular with traveller’s of all kinds, this port town has a history steeped in sailing and yacht building, therefore making it equipped at every level to accommodate those looking to enjoy the luxury of a superyacht vacation. Whatever it is you’re looking for from your charter itinerary, this port town has it all - from magnificent historical sites to scenic beauty to the renowned vigour of Bar Street.

It’s also a go-to for diving enthusiasts, boasting around 52 dive sites in and around the area. One of the best-know of these is the Baca Cave, known locally as ‘the chimney’ where the depths range from 5 to 50 metres, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced divers. There is of course plenty to do on land too and not to be missed is the lively Grand Bazaar. Haggle for jewellery and fabulous leathers, pick out your favourite spices ands oak up the colours, smells and atmosphere.

If you want to experience some high-octane activity ashore then embark on a jee safari through the rural countryside. Often starting at sunrise, these are a fantastic way to see a mixture of forests, seaside villages and streams away from the hustle and bustle in the centre of Marmaris as well as taking in the views from the winding roads that lead into the mountains. Then, after an energetic day exploring, there’s no better way to wind down than a traditional Turkish hammam. Built for Suleiman the Magnificent, Marmaris’ Suleymaniye Hamami let’s you enjoy a scrub down and a massage in the surroundings of a spectacular 16th Century building.

As part of a yacht charter itinerary, Marmaris has many surrounding areas that are well-worth a visit. Quieter beaches can be found in Icmeler as well some charming waterfront eateries, and the beautifully scenic and mountainous setting of Turunc is great for relaxation.
