MaXi is a trailer-able catamaran for amateur construction. The beam of the boat is 2,44m. It can have also water ballast. The wing seat adds a tremendous amount of stability. With its bouncy device on the mast top, the boat can be righted by slanted the mast for about 12 degrees. Like all my designs the boat is to be built in the (Ply)wood/glass fiber/Epoxy composite system

Here something different, have fun. My MaXi is a homage to the G32 from the Gougeon brothers. The hulls are, for easy of construction, Sharpie shaped, with some modifications at the bow. For best sailing performance the boat has centre/dagger boards. The rig has a boom system roll system to shorten the main sail. It is, as the mast, easy to build. For stability the boat has water ballast and a "wing seat" which is, in rest position a backrest in the cockpit. By sitting there the stability increase is bigger as with 200 L water ballast. The lifting device on the top of the mast helps to right the boat again. The inside of the cabin is comparable to my ECO 5.5.

• Arrival Time: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure.
• Check-In: Maxicat staff will be at the gate to check your ticket, take any final payments, and escort you to the catamaran.
• Parking: Spacious parking is available at Puerto Colon, with an hourly rate of approximately 1.20€.
• Directions: Use Google Maps to find the departure location and the office of Club Canary.

Maxicat Tenerife Boat Trips Policy

• Weather Conditions: This experience is dependent on good weather. If canceled due to hazardous weather conditions, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund for your Maxicat Tenerife boat trip.
• Cancellation Policy: Cancellations or rescheduling for the Maxicat Tenerife boat trips can be made free of charge up to 48 hours before the trip. Please email your request to [email protected] . If you do not cancel within the 48-hour window, your deposit will be forfeited. A penalty of 10€ per person will be charged for cancellations made less than 2 hours before the trip, late arrivals, or no-shows, as the deposit does not cover these damages.
• Seasickness: If seasickness occurs and necessitates a change in the itinerary during your Maxicat Tenerife boat trip, there will be no refund.

You know the expression “somebody’s always got a bigger boat”? Well, there’s not many catamarans that are bigger and faster than the Magic Cat, an iconic creation that was launched by Multiplast in the summer of ’96.

Multiplast are the famous French yard behind the racing catamarans ‘Orange 2’ and ‘Groupama 3’, two of the fastest cats on the planet. And when Spindrift goes for a service, she heads for Multiplast in Vannes, so this yard knows a thing or two about how to get a boat sliding through the water.

Magic Cat, a fast cruising maxi catamaran, was designed by Gilles Ollier and with one eye on Commodore Explorer, the 1st boat to win the Jules Verne Trophy with Bruno Peyron in 1993.

Maxi Cat comes in at just over 82 feet (25m) and has a spreaderless carbon mast. She cruises at 10 knots, but is comfortable in the mid to high teens and even into the low 20s. On flat calm days, she’s powered by 2x 100 HP Yanmars

She was built using the same construction material, rigging design, mast mold and dagger boards as the racing catamatan. This is a boat that was built by a group of designers that demanded the highest quality and finish.

She was originally launched in Vannes in the summer ’96 following 15 months of design and construction. Gilles Ollier and a team of 25 colleagues were behind the development. The 2 brothers who commissioned the yacht were looking for top performance, and the finest quality build.

Her hulls are made from vacuum-pressed sandwich carbon, her mast in high modulus carbon, she has kevlar shrouds and she carries extensive titanium in place of of stainless steel. Her dagger boards, which give her excellent up-wind performance, were rare in the nineties when she launched. Magic Cat was a yacht ahead of her time.

Magic Cat’s DNA evolved from Commodore Explorer, the first boat to win the Jules Verne Trophy three years earlier in 1993, with Bruno Peyron. This is a cruising cat based on a racing platform. She had a thorough refit in 2009 and 2012 and has been meticulously maintained since.

MAGIC CAT accommodates 8 guests in 4 cabins with 4 crew members. The Master cabin has a queen size bed, shower and head. 3 Guest cabins have a queen size bed, shower and head.

She comes with air conditioning in the cabins. Crew have a separate heads and shower.

On the toys front, you’ll be choosing from the following: tender, water skiing (adult / child), snorkelling equipment, scuba diving (pre-booking required), inflatable kayak.

The Entertainment system includes: Sanyo Home Cinema with Sony Hifi Surround System. The aft cabins are fitted with TVs. All guest cabins are equipped with HIFI / DVD / MP3 systems.

Rossinavi to premiere 43m Seawolf X at Monaco Yacht Show 2024

Rossinavi has announced that it will be premiering its "most innovative project" to date, Seawolf X , at this year's Monaco Yacht Show . The 42.8-metre hybrid-electric catamaran was delivered in August 2024 and is now cruising the Saronic Islands in Greece, according to BOATPro .

Exterior design is by Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design , marking the first project presented by the pair since the 49.1-metre Aurora in 2017. It also marks Rossinavi's first multihull project.

A key characteristic of the model is her three "performance scenarios". On one-day trips, Seawolf X can cruise in full-electric mode for 100 per cent of the time; on multi-day trips, she can cruise for 90 per cent; and on transatlantic trips, she can still cruise in electric mode for 80 per cent of the time. When the catamaran is moored, a "hibernation mode" activates for reduced consumption – with the energy generated able to be given back to the quay or to a private property. She can recharge at the shore in five hours and supplies enough energy to charge up an entire villa.

Rossinavi has also developed an onboard artificial intelligence system, called Rossinavi AI, to analyse the operation of the vessel, predict the needs of guests and communicate with the crew on "lower-impact behaviours" and "conscious cruising". The AI can also monitor the battery pack to keep it in a range of 20 to 80 per cent.

Her exterior is low-profiled and reminiscent of a sports car, with Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design seeking "to liberate their minds from preconceptions" around catamaran design. The team also integrated solar panels into Seawolf X and addressed hull efficiency by developing "lightweight solutions", including an anchor installation that meets weight standards while enhancing aesthetics.

New York-based design firm Meyer Davis have created an interior that "complements the cutting-edge yacht to bring relaxed luxury and sustainable design to its forefront," the shipyard said. The decor takes inspiration from nature, in particular the sun, the sea and sand.

Leisure highlights include a convivial cockpit centred around a pool, an expansive sundeck with sunbathing and living spaces, and a bow area that features a hidden pool and convertible home theatre. Accommodation is for up to 10 guests in four cabins located in the hulls.

"After years of study and construction, it is now a source of satisfaction and pride for us to witness the launch of project Sea Cat, now Seawolf X , the first hybrid-electric multihull vessel," said Federico Rossi, COO of Rossinavi at the time. "This yacht showcases remarkable technological innovations in both power management and propulsion technologies, marking the beginning of a new chapter in next-generation vessels." 

Seawolf X also carries the BlUE label, the shipyard' "sustainable" design philosophy established in 2022. Inspired by phytoplankton, the BlUE fleet absorbs sunlight during the day and utilises photovoltaic technology to convert it into energy. This energy is stored in advanced batteries and released at night, creating a bioluminescent effect "akin to glowing plankton".

Seawolf X is available for charter with Cecil Wright from €380,000 per week.
