Alia yachts 16 m: a custom superyacht turned smaller.

The shipyard is known for units dwelling in the 60-meter range. Alia Yachts 16 m instead is a fast dayboat, built with the same approach, and now a bestseller of the brand.

The request, initially from 2014, came from a customer, an “important” person who approached Gökhan Çelik of Alia Yachts: he wanted a 16-meter fast boat , for day cruises , built with the same care of a superyacht. So, the founder and chairman of the Antalya-based shipyard approached Bill Dixon Design in the U.K., which has a strong track record in the powerboat sector, to develop the naval architecture, exterior and interior design of what would become Alia Yachts 16 m .

They want more

Bill Dixon soon realized that what was missing in the segment was a rigid hardtop that comfortably covered both the helm station and the cockpit. So they came up with a design that took the main salon and galley out on deck, but covered by a large fiberglass hardtop which shelters from the sun.

In addition to the kitchenette behind the pilots seats and the dinette, Alia Yachts 16 m has ample outdoor spaces , and despite the aforementioned hardtop there’s plenty of room for sunbathing too with two solariums , fore and aft.

Below deck , a second galley pairs with a spacious double cabin with en-suite , while a second cabin under the cockpit sports two separate beds. Needless to say, Alia Yachts used the same attention to detail which is found on their superyachts.

Powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 600 units, the boat has a top speed north of 35 knots , but the builder says it can reach 40 knots with bigger engine alternatives.

But the relevant thing is a further one: after releasing the first unit for the client, Alia Yachts 16 m was seen and appreciated and two more were sold in quick succession: this, although the product has never been properly marketed as the shipyard continues to focus on superyacht projects. Were not enough Alia Yachts is currently in discussions with an American client for a fourth unit and fielding other inquiries from Europe, South America and the U.S . Sometimes, the product itself is the best marketing strategy.

Bold and defiant, the Pershing 6X embodies the Pershing predatory spirit, with her taut, agile forms and cutting-edge tech. A blast of power with a 48-knot top speed, she’s primed to run rings around the rest and poke fun at convention.

A rebel by design. Typical of the X Generation, the sleek, pared-back lines on the Pershing 6X vaunt large hull windows that illuminate the spaces below deck. In another savvy advance, the side wings are integrated into the superstructure for even greater on-board comfort and pleasure.

A 62' yacht with a brazen Pershing instinct, the 6X can slice through the sea at up to 48 knots. All that power comes from the twin MAN V12 1550mhp engines, tamed by an array of state-of-the-art steering and control technologies.

The spatial ergonomics is maximal thanks to volumes that blend technology and performance in perfect proportions. The open spaces allow the boat to be filled with pleasure and light, such as the large lounge characterized by the front openable windows and the dark glass sliding roof. The new, much larger rectangular portholes allow air and natural light to permeate the rooms below decks.

• Performance.

This is a predator with the ability to delight. Her innovative functional design includes a reshaped large aft sundeck, a carbon and teak table in the cockpit dining area, and a forward chaise longue with reclining backrest.

The Westport 164 luxury yacht series built by American yacht builder Westport is one of the most sought-after and revered yachts in its size range on the market. Launched from the Pacific Northwest shipyard, Westport first began producing the 164-foot series in 2006. Built in all fiberglass, the Westport 164 is one of the larger series produced by Westport. The hulls of yachts in this series are the work of Bill Garden and the styling is by the renowned Donald Starkey. As with other Westport yachts, the Westport 164 series provides a perfect platform for an owner to customize the yacht’s interior to an extent, including the capability to rearrange non-structural bulkheads. Westport luxury yachts offer exceptional seakeeping, stability, top pedigree, world-class design and a layout ideal for a successful charter program. All yachts in the Westport 164 series are ABS classed and MCA compliant. The Westport 164 has a top speed of 25 knots and cruises at 22 knots. She is powered by twin 3,650hp MTU engines. The yacht’s draft measures in at seven feet, three inches (2.2m) and ensures that she can access even more-shallow islands, inlets and is ideally suited for cruising locations such as The Bahamas. The Westport 164 also offers an impressive range. She can cruise 5,200 nautical miles when cruising at 12 knots. Her range at 16 knots is reportedly 2,900 nautical miles.

Tri-Deck Layout

Westport 164 luxury yachts for sale typically have three decks with alfresco spaces for guests to enjoy. The main deck aft is outfitted with an alfresco dining space. Some Westport 164s also have a main-deck foredeck seating space. The bridge deck also often has alfresco dining space and a seating area forward of the bridge. The most popular version has the full-beam master stateroom on the main deck, the VIP stateroom on the bridge deck where it has a private terrace and the additional staterooms below deck. Some opt to use one of the below deck staterooms as a gym rather than a fourth stateroom. The yacht typically carries 12 guests, but in a five-stateroom-plus-gym configuration, the Westport 164 would welcome 10 guests.

After “Quantum of Solace” and “Diamonds Are Forever”, “Spectre” is the third yacht launched by Benetti for talented New York businessman John Staluppi. M/Y “Spectre” is a 69-meter Full Custom Mega Yacht with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure on five decks. The name pays tribute once again to James Bond, while the hull by Dutch firm Mulder Design aims to deliver extraordinary performance for yachts this size and is fitted with the new Ride Control technology by Naiad Dynamics. The interior design by Benetti’s Interior Style Department brings to mind the Art Deco and Liberty moods of certain French interiors, while the flowing, contemporary exterior contours are designed by Giorgio M. Cassetta.

The owner chooses Benetti for the third time and, as usual, celebrates his passion for James Bond, the leading character in the series of films inspired by the novels of Ian Fleming. John Staluppi who has fallen in love with Made in Italy excellence, has named his latest megayacht, a Full Custom launched yesterday in Livorno, “Spectre” after the title of the famous 2015 film starring 007. The plans for this original boat were developed around the latest marine technologies and combining different styles and philosophies of interior decoration, with references to the past (the nineteen twenties in France) mixed with modern details. M/Y “Spectre” (FB269) is a full custom 69-meter megayacht, with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure arranged on five decks, featuring a swimming pool and a ‘touch and go’ helipad. Accommodating 12 guests in unparalleled comfort, the layout features two owner’s cabins (one has a private terrace, a sun lounging area and a hydromassage tub), two VIP cabins on the Main Deck and two guest cabins on the lower deck. Bringing together Benetti’s most advanced design and construction technologies, M/Y “Spectre” is fitted with Ride Control technology by Naiad Dynamics, representing an absolute novelty for this type of boat. The system significantly increases stability during navigation and improves comfort on board with the help of four stabilising fins and three vertically-adjustable blades. The lines of the Hi Speed Cruising Hull, designed by Dutch firm Mulder Design, deliver maximum navigation efficiency, with a range of 6,500 nautical miles at 12 knots and a top speed of 21.2 knots, 30% more than a traditional displacement hull. The exteriors are by Giorgio M. Cassetta, who says that he has fallen in love with the project and is proud to have contributed to the creation of such a technologically advanced yacht: “I’m very fond of Spectre. It’s the perfect example of a virtuous confluence between the ideas of the owner and the shipyard. John and Jeanette Staluppi, with their immense experience and energy, have spurred us on to imagine a yacht complete with everything that could be desired on a boat this size. Benetti accepted the challenge of building it to the highest standards and with a wealth of innovative technology. The splendid result is a satisfaction that my firm will treasure in the years to come”. The style of the interiors, created by Benetti’s Interior Style Department, recalls the mood of certain French hotels and boutiques, standing out from Staluppi’s previous boats in a more classical and modern way. The floor in the main lounge, for example, draws inspiration from the Liberty style flooring in a Paris resort, featuring symmetrical forms and clean-cut geometrical patterns enriched here with modern touches provided by the choice of Armani fabrics. Other references to French taste are the windows, a reminiscent of Paris’ typical Liberty style shops. With the launch of “Spectre”, Benetti begins a period of hectic activity featuring some very big yachts. A remarkable 7 Full Custom yacht deliveries are planned in 2018/2019, including 3 giga yachts over 100 meters each, now being built in parallel at the company’s Livorno shipyard.

Meet Gout Gout, the Australian sprint starlet turning heads at 16-years-old

You will have seen him on social media for his blistering pace, but who is the teenager out of Queensland, Australia who is the talk of the athletics world and does not want to be compared to Usain Bolt?

Gout Gout : the boy so good, they named him twice.

The Australian sprinter has caught the attention of the athletics world after a stunning 100m run in Brisbane which has gone viral on social media.

You may not recognise the name yet, but you will know if you have seen that clip of his incredible pace. Who knows, he may well be competing in that very city at the Olympic Games eight years from now.

Get to know Gout Gout, the 16-year-old sprinting sensation out of Queensland.

Gout Gout, taking Australian athletics by storm

Gout was born in 2007 to South Sudanese parents, who had emigrated to Australia a few years before he was born.

He has always showed promise as a sprinter; as a 15-year-old, he not only won the men’s under-18 200m final at the 2023 Australian Junior Athletics Championships, but set a national under-20 record as a teenager.

Gout also ran a stunning 10.29s over 100m in March 2024, blitzing the opposition and finding an astounding burst of acceleration in the final 50m to further hammer home his advantage.

To put that time into context, if the 16-year-old had ran that time at Paris 2024, he would have made it through the preliminary rounds and into the first round of the men’s 100m event.

Gout holds the Australian under-16 national record in both the men’s 100m and 200m races, setting personal bests in both events this year.

Gout compared to Olympic great Usain Bolt

Gout has been compared to the greatest sprinter of all time, eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt .

It is not easy for a 16-year-old to have that pressure, but equally it speaks of just how highly held he is in the eyes of the athletics world.

Speaking about the comparisons in April, Gout said (as per Fox Sports ), “It’s pretty cool because Usain Bolt is arguably the greatest athlete of all time and just being compared to him is a great feeling. Obviously I’m Gout Gout so I’m trying make a name for myself. If I can get to the level he was that would be a great achievement.”

The teenager will be 20-years-old by the time the next Olympic Games come round at LA 2028 , and though it is still early days in Gout’s career, he will surely have his eyes focused on the States.

Even better, the following Olympiad takes place in his home state of Queensland, Brisbane 2032, by which time he will have plenty more experience under his belt.

The future is certainly bright for Gout Gout, a name you will no doubt hear again.
