| Click on the pictures below to read more reviews Want to take an adventure that allows you to unpack your bag once and not have to worry about anything else for the next few weeks, then the Albatross is the sailboat you want. Adriana and Radu will make you feel at home the moment you step foot on the boat. My family has NEVER repeated vacations to any destinations UNTIL we sailed with the Albatross. The first time we sailed was 6/2015. Our kids were 10 and 8 at the time. We brought another couple with us for a total of 6 people on board. The berths on the boat were very comfortable and meticulously clean. The galley has a small fridge/freezer and there is a stove and oven should you want to cook. Plenty of storage space for all your food and snacks. You set sail right away and the adventure begins. Everyday was a new island destination and we would stop for a mid morning swim in a secluded cove somewhere along the way. The kids and the adults loved jumping off the boat, snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding or just swimming around. All the gear is already on the boat, just pack your swimsuit and sunscreen. After eating lunch on the boat we would return pull up anchor and continue to our destination for the evening. Before you set anchor or pull up to the dock, Adriana gives you information about the island, the best beaches and points of interest, modes of transportation and even restaurant recommendations. All you have to do is decide on what best fits your groups interests. She makes it so easy you don't need to spend hours combing through books wondering what the best sites to see are. She can and will even call ahead to arrange a cab for you if you need it. Our 10 and 8 years old kids loved the trip so much, as did us parents, that we returned in 2019 and sailed again. Like I said we NEVER repeat trips so we insisted on seeing new islands and ports. Our first 2 week trip in 2015 took us to the Cyclade islands and the second 2 week trip in 2019 we went to the Dodecanese. Our kids were 14 and 12 this time and still loved everyday of the trip, until we had to leave. We told Adriana and Radu to start building another 2 week itinerary for us as we are considering and will probably be back for a third time. Truly cannot say enough great things about this experience. Adriana and Radu will make your trip into a personalized adventure tailor made for your family or friends. We were a group of five adults with several trips to our credit. We had an amazing week with Adriana and Radu. Not only have we sailed in a magical setting, we have also benefited from the experience of our guides. Adriana and Radu do everything to make our experience perfect. The boat is impeccably clean and very well maintained. At each island our hosts gave us advices and recommendations on the sites to see and their advices were always very good. In addition, the stops in the small bays little attended are magic. They are always on the lookout for questions and requests. I do more than recommend because we are going back next year! You must live this experience .Thank you Adriana and Radu! See you next year ! . What an awesome experience we shared with family and friends on our amazing three-week charter with Adriana and Radu on the Albatross! Our holiday far exceeded my expectations thanks to the special care and hospitality given to us by Adriana and Radu. They made this a very special holiday for me, my family, and closet friends. From my first email inquiry two years prior to boarding the Albatross, Adriana was very responsive and provided me with all the information I needed to ensure I chose the proper charter of the Greek Islands. Once aboard, Adriana and Radu surpassed all my expectations for ensuring we had a safe and fulfilling experience. Everything from selecting our daily routes, visiting beautiful harbors and towns, to recommendations for sights to see and places to eat was spot on! I can’t imagine a better time with a better crew to see the Greek Islands from a local perspective. I give Adriana and Radu 5+ Stars for a holiday of a lifetime- Thank you! A year ago we started researching for a spectacular ending to our 5 month European adventure. We decided that a casual cruise around some Greek islands would do the trick. After contacting Adriana and exchanging a few e-mails, we were left with no doubt as to which charter we were going to choose. Adriana is passionate about her sailing and sharing the wonders of Greece with all. From the moment we met Adriana at Skippers we felt immediately “at home”. We were introduced to Radu & the Albatross and got settled in quickly. These guys had thought of absolutely everything! The boat was fully equipped and the Charter Starter was a blessing and covered most, if not all what we needed. We were after a hassle-free, relaxing, yet exciting adventure and that is exactly what we got! We had no particular agenda but the brief was to take us to some beaches, swimming spots, fishing villages, historical sites. We all discussed and decided upon a rough itinerary (subject to weather conditions) on the 1st day before leaving, and although we had to change it during the trip, there was always an amazing alternative offered up by this great knowledgeable team. At each stop, Adriana would share her extensive knowledge of the area with us, complete with recommendations of what to do, where to eat, where to hire a car etc. Everything was just as she had said & we had a great time at each. Adriana & Radu are an incredible team that were completely in sync. Thank you so much for an epic high & unforgettable experience. All the best for your future & we hope that we are in it somewhere! If you're looking to sail in Greece I think you should check this out. From the initial email exchanges with Adriana to the last day of sail, everything was perfect. Our expectations were exceeded by the friendliness, kindness, and professionalism of Adriana and Radu. They know the islands like their back pocket and sailing is their passion. In every place we stopped they had recommendations for us where to go, what to see, where to eat, and they were spot on with everything. The sailing was nice and smooth, the boat is updated with all new navigation gadgets and it top condition. Besides the people and the boat, other things to consider: 1) from my research they are the only ones with a flexible schedule, all other charter boats are on a Sunday to Saturday pattern that may not fit your plans; 2) they do not go through a broker, Adriana answers all the emails and the info you get is specific and correct; 3) the prices are set (not + fuel, or + port and other fees, or any other creative gimmicks); 4) they are flexible (time, itinerary and all). Thank you Adriana and Radu. This was the 2nd trip for us on Albatross with Adrianna and Radu; first time for the other couple that came with us. It was as fantastic as the first time and our friends also completely enjoyed the 2 weeks of sailing. Their sailing and local knowledge are amazing. The boat is large, stable and comfortable. The itinerary was planned based on weather and our wishes, and Adriana briefed us on each spot when we arrived (worth taking notes or recording this!). They are always there and willing to do whatever is needed to make the trip amazing, and at same time they have the ability to stay out of the way (not always easy on a sailboat :) ). We already have others asking to join us the next time!! If you only visit Greece once, sail. Sail into the harbors of the old villages and truly experience their breathtaking beauty. Imagine what it was like hundreds or thousands of years ago... So much history and beauty awaits! If you only sail once, sail with Captain Radu and the lovely Adriana aboard the Albatross! We had the honor of meeting them and spending a week on board. It was the best vacation decision we've ever made. Radu is an amazing captain - I (a skeptical and nervous soul who has never sailed) felt immediately comfortable and confident in his ability. It was clear that we had the best skipper in all of Greece (ha!), seriously though, I am so grateful we chose to sail with him. Adriana is so much more informative than I had anticipated. Every time we docked she recommended things to do, told us a bit about the history, and gave us the general lay of the land. Most importantly, she told us where to eat. Eat exactly where Adriana tells you to eat and you will have experienced the best food that island has to offer. Not to mention the dreamy ambiance of the restaurants... As I mentioned I am a very skeptical and cautions person. Adriana made the whole booking experience smooth, she replied promptly and explained in detail how the process works. Had she not been such a professional, I wouldn't have booked at all - we would've likely stayed at a hotel in Santorini or something like that. I am forever grateful that we stumbled upon Blue Water Sailing and chartered a private yacht! (I would've never before even considered it was possible) We booked the first week of October. The weather was perfect and the water was about 75F, nice and warm. The ports were less busy and we got to experience towns like Hydra without being surrounded by tons of other tourists. Thank you so much Adriana and Radu! Read more of our reviews on our . |
David M, that sailed with us in October was writing: If you are after a yet adventure that is exactly what you will get: and visit as possible in a week - each day you will be visiting a new destination. Unlike a regular one week trip "get a ferry/find a hotel type "where you would probably end up spending all your time at one island. Rent a sailboat with captain and . Pretty efficient, right? And the best part - a skippered boat charter in the guarantee for while exploring a multitude of destinations. 750 Crewed Luxury Yachts for Charter in Greece
A Greece yacht charter promises one of the most magical experiences of anywhere in the Mediterranean. With more shoreline than anywhere else in Europe and around 6,000 islands to explore, Greece offers endless opportunities for discovery on your next superyacht charter. Whether you’re looking for fun in the sun in Mykonos , a romantic getaway in Santorini or peace and quiet in the Ionian Islands , a yacht rental in Greece will fulfil every desire.
If you're considering renting a luxury yacht in Greece, you’re in good company. This popular yachting hotspot is thought to be the original home of modern yacht charter , and there are few destinations on earth that are so perfect for exploring by boat!
The best Greek yacht charters are generally structured into the five major island chains and two peninsulas. Each of these Greek charter destinations has its own unique charm and character.
Cyclades Islands (Mykonos, Santorini, Paros, Naxos) Best for: buzzy restaurants and beach clubs, luxury shopping, iconic sights, fine dining
Saronic Islands (Hydra, Spetses, Aegina, Poros) Best for: charming towns, secluded beaches, cycling and hiking trails, authentic dining
Dodecanese Islands (Rhodes, Kos, Simi) Best for: cultural attractions, ancient towns, quiet anchorages, swimming and snorkelling
Ionian Islands (Corfu, Zakynthos, (Zante), Ithaca, Kefalonia) Best for: beautiful beaches, short-hop sailing, scuba diving, nightlife
Sporades Islands (Alonissos, Skiathos, Skopelos, Skyros) Best for: peace and quiet, unspoilt nature, pristine beaches
Peloponnese Region (Corinth, Patras, Kalamata, Nafplion,) Best for: pretty towns, ancient culture, beautiful beaches, calm moorings
Halkidiki Region (Kassandreia, Sani) Best for: cultural sights, untouched beaches, swimming and snorkelling
Mykonos yacht charters.
Mykonos yacht charters have attracted well-heeled guests time after time with the island's sugar-cubed villages combined with cosmopolitan allure. Mykonos' main attraction is undeniably its vibrant nightlife; amid its myriad seafront bars and clubs, partygoers dance till dawn under rose-gold skies. But this is not the island's only appeal.
Wander around the enchanting vividly-colored houses of Little Venice as the sun sets; savor a candlelit meal at one of its many fine-dining options (such as Nobu); and discover some of the magnificent bays such as Ornos . Of course, there are also a vast array of beaches to bronze on: from the iconic Paradise Beach to the hip and happening Psarou or the more tranquil Agios Sostis .
A Vouliagmeni yacht charter is highly exclusive, with the idyllic coastal town being a popular superyacht haven for vacations beginning or ending in Athens. Located 13 miles southeast of the capital, yacht charter guests can moor here with ease at its peaceful bay. It's an absolute must whilst you are here to take a dip in the emerald-hued waters of the lake, hugged by soaring cliffs and gently warmed by thermal springs. For the more adventurous, be sure to make the most of the bountiful underwater caves.
A Santorini yacht charter is a firm favorite amongst discerning travelers who fall in love with its endless, dramatic beauty at every turn. Dappled with whitewashed cottages and cerulean-hued domed churches tumbling down the hillsides of Oia to and up to the capital of Firá , guests have no shortage of backdrops for sunset tipples or sights to gaze at. Visiting the world-famous Red beach in nearby Akrotiri village whilst you are here is also a must.
Santorini is also superbly located for cruising towards the crystalline shores of Magganari beach on Ios island: an ideal location for snorkeling or taking out the toys.
Jetsetters have long adored Hydra for yacht charters , largely owing to its heavenly seascapes. The sheltered island enthralls guests onshore, who feel as if they have stepped into a bygone era: no cars roam around, just donkeys who hobble around its picture-perfect, labyrinthine streets and harbor. Soaring escarpments set the scene for sun-drenched meals under a lingering sun, with seafood served so fresh that it's practically dripping straight from the water. Admire also the innumerable secret coves and bays to be found here, many of which can be explored on your tenders.
The luminous, volcanic island of Milos and its fabulously turquoise bays are a superyacht favorite, yet remain largely undiscovered to the wider public. But why do the elite cruise towards its shores? For the staggeringly beautiful beaches (more than 70 of them, in fact) perfect for bringing out the water toys.
The spellbinding Kleftiko bay , the geothermal Paliochori beach, and the surreal charms of Sarakiniko beach (with its moon-like surfaces flecked by countless caves) are popular spots here. Abound with ancient ruins, make sure you also pay a visit to the Catacombs of Milos near the village of Tripiti , and the achingly pretty hilltop Venetian Castle of Milos .
A Greece yacht rental vacation offers an incredible selection of things to see and do. Here is our small selection of some of the most outstanding:
Shipwreck Beach : (Navagio Beach) a beach in Zante that's best accessed by boat and is famous for the large shipwreck lying on the sand.
Nammos : the most iconic beach club in Greece.
The Portara of Naxos : a doorlike arch that once formed the Temple of Apollo on the island of Naxos.
Cavo Tagoo : one of the most photographed hotels in Greece, carved into the caves on the hills of Mykonos.
The Terrace of Lions : a walkway on the island of Delos that's lined by statues of lions.
The Corinth Canal : a long stretch of water that cuts through the mainland in Corinth.
Flyaway Creative : the hottest restaurant in Santorini.
Given its staggering popularity, a better question might be: who doesn't? For culture vultures, Greece is packed with majestic archeological ruins and attractions, for sun-worshippers, Greece is home to some of the world's most outstanding beaches that can be enjoyed by couples and families alike, and for hedonists, party havens like Mykonos are buzzing with famous nightclubs and bars.
Greece's location at the confluence of the East and West, as well as its Roman and Ottoman occupations, have had a huge cultural and historical impact that can be still felt today in terms of cuisine and architecture.
Greeks are fiercely proud of their heritage and culture. Marvelous regional traditions permeate mainland Greece and the Greek islands, ranging from religion to music, language to food and even wine, making a Greek yacht charter a truly thrilling experience.
Greece has a very diverse yacht charter market, so you can be sure to find the perfect yacht for you and your charter party. There’s a wide variety of motor yachts for charter , as well as sailing yachts and traditional Turkish gulets.
However, be aware that all yachts wishing to begin or end a yacht charter in Greece must be in possession of a valid Greek charter license. Speak to a yacht charter broker for more information.
If you’re unsure about the type of yacht you’d like to charter, here are some things to consider first.
For those looking to rent a motor yacht in Greece, you’ll find a wide range to choose from.
The most common type of motor yacht you can hire in Greece is a yacht with a planing hull. Stylish, sporty and speedy, they’re great for zipping between islands quickly and ensuring you get the most out of your itinerary. If you’re looking to spend most of your time on land or splashing in the sea, a yacht with a planing hull is the top choice for you.
You’ll also find a superb selection of displacement and semi-displacement superyachts at your disposal (pictured above). These are typically larger and more stable at anchor, with more onboard space for facilities and amenities such as gyms, movie theaters and wellness suites. They’re ideal if you’re chartering with a large group, particularly one that includes children.
Greece is a playground for sailing yacht rentals , with plenty of yachts available throughout summer. A combination of light winds, clear skies and plenty of anchorages create great sailing conditions across all the islands.
The most popular destinations for sailing charters are typically Corfu, Kefalonia , and the Sporades Islands . Other destinations are equally desirable, including the Cyclades and the Dodecanese islands - but be aware that these areas typically encounter more winds. This means it might be more challenging to drop anchor, and you will have to consider spending more nights in port.
A gulet is a traditionally Turkish-built sailing yacht made out of wood. They are usually two or three-masted and are typically much larger than your average sailing yacht. Luxury gulet yacht charters in Greece are very appealing alternatives to both sailing and motor yacht charter. While they usually rely on their motor underway, they are very fuel-efficient and don't require a lot of fuel to get from point A to point B. They have displacement hulls which make them very stable and seaworthy, and typically offer lots of volume and open-plan living spaces.
Greek gulet yachts also tend to be cheaper than other types of charter as they sometimes offer all-inclusive or semi-inclusive packages, meaning you don’t need to worry about additional expenses such as food and drink. They also normally include a standard number of cruising hours per day. Plus, their crew are often local to the region that they cruise in, meaning they can double as tour guides and have a lot of expertise and valuable insight into the area.
But be aware- many gulets are Turkish-flagged, meaning they will need to hold a Greek charter license to start or finish a charter in Greece.
The price of a Greece yacht charter vacation varies depending on a number of factors, including the type of yacht, the age of the yacht, and the month in which you choose to charter.
In Greece, VAT on a yacht charter is charged at 24% and is based on the value of the yacht. However, this figure can be reduced if the yacht meets specific criteria.
The three tax brackets are as follows;
The best time for Greek yacht rentals is between July and August, but warm weather typically extends well into September and even May in certain destinations. The peak of the charter season is usually July, although August historically has the hottest temperatures.
Between June and August, you can expect highs of 85 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit (26 - 32 degrees Celsius) in Athens, with even hotter temperatures recorded further south.
By far the most common embarkation point for a Greece yacht rental vacation is Athens . Around 90% of the Greek charter fleet has a homeport in Athens, and there are numerous luxury marinas that cater to superyachts.
However, for those looking to charter around the Ionian Islands in destinations like Corfu , Cephalonia and Zakynthos , you may wish to begin your charter closer to your desired destination.
It is possible to begin or end your charter elsewhere in Greece. However, you may have to consider the cost of repositioning as the fleet is mostly based out of Athens.
If you want to meet the yacht elsewhere – for example, Santorini, Mykonos – you can expect to pay a hefty repositioning fee. It’s generally more economical to begin your Greek yacht charter in Athens and spend the day cruising to your desired start point, enjoying your yacht to the fullest, and soaking up the scenery as you travel underway.
Around the main yachting hubs of Greece, you’ll find plenty of marinas that cater to a variety of yachts of different sizes. However, be aware that Greece doesn’t have as many big marinas as destinations such as the South of France or Italy , and demand for slips can be very high in peak season.
Beginning or ending your yacht charter in Athens, one of the most exciting cities in the world, is a popular choice. Be sure to explore this historic destination in all its glory before you leave.
Greece is one of the most popular charter destinations in the Mediterranean. Therefore, advanced booking (three to six months ahead) is absolutely essential in order to secure your dream yacht on your preferred dates in the perfect destination.
When it comes to Greece yacht rentals, many charterers are repeat clients; meaning they’ve already booked the yacht once, fallen in love with the yacht and its crew, and chosen to return again to explore a new destination. This means that competition for yachts is fierce and it’s even more crucial to kickstart the booking process early.
Don’t forget that your choice of yachts in Greece is comparatively smaller than Italy or the South of France since all yachts beginning or ending a charter yacht in Greece must have a Greek charter license.
That said, it is possible for a foreign-flagged yacht to charter in Greece so long as the charter begins and ends in international waters, such as Italy and Albania for yacht charters around the Ionian Islands or Turkey for charters around the Aegean islands.

Greece yacht charter itineraries.
Our wide variety of charter itineraries around Greece have been hand-picked by a team of brokers and yachting experts to help you get the most from your next superyacht vacation.
Once you’ve chosen your dream island chain or region, it’s time to start creating your perfect itinerary.
From the Aegean islands to the Cyclades, every pocket of Greece offers so much to see, do, discover and experience.
To get the most out of your charter, be sure to choose an itinerary that covers between 6-8 days. This will give you ample time to spend enjoying on-shore excursions as well as down time on deck.
If you’re looking to explore more than one region, we recommended an itinerary that covers more than a week. Your itinerary can incorporate overnight cruises to ensure you get the most out your days, and you can easily finish your charter in a different destination to where you began.
Many people chartering in Greece choose to begin or end in Turkey. The Turkish coastlines are renowned for their incredible beauty and abundance of little bays, so be sure to bear this mind when browsing our itineraries.
Remember, all of our itineraries can be used as templates, and your broker will be able to tailor them to create bespoke charter experiences that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

Most itineraries for yachts around Greece begin in Athens because around 90% of the charter fleet in Greece has a homeport in Athens. Therefore, the yachts are usually based in the country’s capital, and you will most likely have to pay a repositioning fee if you’d like to begin elsewhere in Greece.
A Greek yacht charter license is a special permit that allows yachts to begin and end a yacht charter in Greece. Not all yachts hold a Greek charter license, so you will need to speak to your charter broker for more information about starting and finishing a charter in Greek waters.
You could start a yacht charter in Mykonos, but you will most likely have to pay a hefty repositioning fee as most yachts have their homeport in Athens. To get the most out of your yacht charter, it’s usually best to begin in Athens and spend the night underway to reach Mykonos.
The most popular destinations for sailing vacations in Greece are the Ionian Islands. However, great sailing conditions exist across the country, and other popular hotspots include the Dodecanese Islands, the Sporades Islands and the Saronic Islands.
The standard Value Added Tax (VAT) is 24%, and it is calculated based on the value of the yacht. The VAT can be reduced in certain circumstances; read our guide above.
The Cyclades Islands of Santorini, Mykonos, Paros and Naxos are great for exploring on a luxury yacht charter during summer. The best times to visit are between June and September when you can expect long days and warm sea temperatures. The beach clubs of Mykonos will be in full swing, and the island of Santorini will be alive with activity.

Customer reviews.
We are frequent charterers and have sailed in the Med for the past 43 year. I have not only chartered but for many years ran the operations of a major charter company. I can safely say that it is not very often that one comes across a charter company as efficient and flexible as SEVEN Sailing .Spiros and his team were quite outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. Changes of charter dates, plans and island excursions were all handled swiftly and with courtesy. There is a lot to be said for using a company where the owners are hands on – something the mega charter companies lose with size. The boat was in excellent condition for age and we had no problems with her whatsoever. We have no hesitation in recommending Spiros and SEVEN Sailing.
Thank you for arranging a flotilla holiday that met all expectations and that will be fondly remembered. An efficient and personal service that resulted in a wonderful week of sailing in the Ionian. Good organisation and communication along with glorious conditions ensured our family flotilla experience was a big success. Our thanks to Spiros for arranging everything for us.
I would like to inform our satisfaction about the week we spended with catamaran odysseas. The boat was in excellent condtons and the places we visited very nice..Certainly we’ll back in this area supported by your organization
Thank you so much

The weather in Greece is suitable for sailing from March through to November, with the best months for charter being from June to September. In July and August it can get very hot, often with temperatures in the high 30’s. This is of course peak European holiday season, when marinas are more crowded and newer charter yachts are often booked a year ahead. Some local areas have seasonal winds that are best avoided. For instance the Meltemi that blows in the Cyclades in July and August can be a little fresh for some.
Here's a snapshot of wind and sailing conditions that generally prevail in the five main Greek Island charter areas:
The Saronic, Argolic and eastern coast of the Peloponnese is a well-protected cruising area that's ideal for relaxed sailing. Winds are normally gentle, averaging force 3 – 4 and usually from the north to northeast direction. In the Argolic Gulf, the summer wind is mostly from the southeast and blows at the average of force 3 - 5. During spring and autumn the winds are normally weaker, and blow from the south over the whole area.
This region's prevailing summer wind is the Meltemi, which blows from the north. The Meltemi peaks in July and August at force 5 - 7 and may occasionally reach force 9. It can last for several days. During spring and autumn, you may also find winds blowing from the south.
The Meltemi also affects this area, blowing from a northwesterly direction at force 4 – 6. In spring and autumn the wind is not as strong, blowing from the southeast.
Also in the path of the Meltemi, which comes generally from the northeast at force 3 - 5. Occasionally in July and August there can be stronger winds from the northwest at force 4 - 6. By the end of September the winds are usually lighter again.
The wind and sailing conditions in the Ionian Sea are predictable, making these great sailing waters. From May to September the wind blows from the northwest at force 2 - 5, mostly in the afternoon. In spring and autumn the wind is not as strong, and blows usually from the southwest. Expect to use your motor a lot in the Ionian Islands.
In the Mediterranean there's a wide choice of charter operators, and it's very important that you sail with a reputable company. In our three decades-plus in the charter business we have developed a network of only the best operators - people we know we can rely on to take care of you. We'll identify the right yacht to match your budget, level of comfort and boat-handling experience.
Our team travels to destinations worldwide to inspect boats for charter, and to get first-hand experience of the cruising grounds we market. We offer local knowledge ,sailing itineraries that suit your pace, and onshore connections that ensure everything runs smoothly and you get the most from your holiday. When we help you organise your charter in Greece or anywhere else, you pay no more for our service.
For sailing Greek waters, arranging a bareboat charter is quite straightforward for the suitably-able sailor. Or we can arrange a skipper, who will take responsibility for your yacht and provide your meals. You can even take a cook along if you're looking for the ultimate luxury sailing holiday. Even experienced sailors often prefer to hire a crew, carefully chosen by us in consultation with our operators, who not only take care of the work but are your in-house local guides. It's fun to live like the locals for a bit: dining and shopping as they do, being entertained as they are. Often it's only with the help of your knowledgeable crew that such unique cultural connections arise.
A sailing license (usually a formal certificate at any level will do) and a VHF operator’s license are compulsory requirements of bareboat yacht charters in Greece. We help you work through all that, seeking prior approval of your documentation before you travel to avoid any last-minute headaches. During your charter you must carry the original documents on board, in case of inspection by the local port authority.
.carousel-cell { width: 50%; /* full width */ } .sc-carousel, section .sc-carousel { margin-top: 0; } Rating: 5 / 5 The Lagoon 46 was the best catamaran we have chartered. There was plenty of deck and seating space and all the bedrooms/ensuites were a good size. Preveza was a great starting point and we enjoyed travelling south to Ithaki and north to Paxi. Kalamos was a highlight we tied up to a pier next to a taverna for the night and it was a lovely spot. We had very good service from Robert and Sue at Yachting Holidays and dealing with an NZ company gave us peace of mind. The service from Fyly in Greece was also excellent. We really appreciated being able to board the boat early and our skipper was also very friendly and easy to get along with. Our skipper Adrian Dimitru was keen to get away on Saturday afternoon so we headed south and got a day ahead which was great. .he cruise was excellent and Adrian got us to some of his favourite spots so we were very lucky. Ithaki not to be missed. Craig, New Zealand, Oct 18th, 2023
Rating: 5 / 5 Boat was fantastic - was it's first charter so perfect condition. We sailed around Ithica and Kefalonia - both islands were beautiful. Sail connections was easy to deal with. Kurt, Australia, Jul 12th, 2024
Rating: 5 / 5 Dear Sue, we would like to thank you and Robert for all the work you put in to make our charter run so smoothly from your end. We absolutely loved the Greek Islands, they were everything we had ever imagined. Jill and Pip, New Zealand , Oct 9th, 2019
Good breezes that provided just the right level of challenge. Not super crowded - no troubles berthing / mooring / eating / etc. Fairly chilled - at least compared to Croatia. Patmos was very good. John, Australia, Aug 17th, 2019
Had a great time. The wind was terrific - good fun, but nothing too hairy - exactly what we were looking for to take it up a notch or two from Croatia last year. And the Dodecanese were really good - nice ports, not too crowded (esp compared to Croatia) - just felt a bit more out of the way. DYC were fine - a little bit more on the 'smell of an oily rag' end of things compared to the very efficient German-run scene at Trogir, but it all worked and no real issues. Excellent recommendation Robert - boat and destination - you nailed it! John, Australia, Jul 31st, 2019
The Lucky Clover was fantastic. We travelled around the Saronic Islands which were beautiful. A new adventure every day. One day we hired scooters and explored the islands. Great service thank you. 10 out of 10, a trip of a lifetime! Deborah, New Zealand, Aug 1st, 2017

For your next sailing holiday, particularly in the eastern Mediterranean but in some other surprising places as well, consider chartering a gulet. Today's gulet is now a modern charter boat built for a unique vacation experience enjoyed in complete passenger comfort and luxury living aboard.
The Ionian Islands lie off the west coast of Greece. Reaching them is a little more complicated than getting to Greece's Aegean sailing holiday destinations that are accessible by ferry or charter directly out of Athens. The Ionians are worth the effort however, with the bonus Gulf of Corinth experience if time allows.

The birthplace of democracy and of western civilization. Nearby are many musuems and the Plaka area, a charming pedestrian tourist area with many traditional restaurants, bars and unique shops.

Take a stroll along the boardwalk to see the Greek caiques (traditional boats) being hand made in their cradles. Then explore Admiral Bouboulina's fascinating 18th century mansion museum and tour bustling Spetses town.
Visit the largest ancient amphitheatre in Greece. Epidaurous with its 14,000-seat capacity is a spectacular example of ancient architecture and only a 20- minute taxi from the harbor.

Explore this charming beachfront town with many cafes and tavernas. Enjoy a soak in the hot thermal waters on the beach as they cascade from under sacred church ground.

Visit the spectacular volcanic creek of Sarakiniko and hike around the deep grotto of Papafraga. Later in the day see the charming fishing village of Madrakia and the ancient, Hellenistic amphitheatre at Tripiti where the statue of the Venus de Milos was found. Other sites include the geological museum near the harbor.
Maintains a traditional charm and depth beyond the tourist cover. The landscape changes its hue with the light and shapes of rugged landscapes combined with carved shapes of white buildings cascading down the hillsides. In the old port town of Livadi, memories of olden days appear, while at the hilltop town of Hora the cosmopolitan town square has something for everyone with restaurants and small bars.
Platy Yialos, Sifnos is one of the best kept secrets of this rural Cycladic island. The harbour is only 6 years old and not listed in most cruising guides, so most sailors pass right by! The small modern harbour offers good protection from most weather, and there are fine restaurants and specialty stores along the beautiful beach and promenade.
At the tiny rustic port of Folegandros a bus ride takes you up to to see the magical hilltop 'Chora' village, with incredible drop-off views of the coastline and Cycladic islands. Enjoy a sunset cocktail at one of the local hotels followed by a nice traditional taverna meal.

Santorini is the most breathtaking of all the Greek islands. The island is what remains of a huge volcanic cataclysm in 1500BC that left a collapsed six-mile round crater. Must see historic sites are the entombed Minoan town of Akrotiri and the hilltop settlement of ancient Thira that dates from 900BC. The UNESCO heritage town of Oia is the most beautiful place to stay and is famous for the sunsets. Santorini is well known for its fine wine and wine tasting is enjoyed at many vineyards.
In the tiny fishing cove of Skinoussa there is room to dock a few yachts on the pier and a few in the tiny bay. What is special about this little known island, is the lovely beach across from the yachts, the tiny 'Chora' hilltop town of 147 inhabitants and a fabulous restaurant.
Visit the 4th-century Panagia Ekatontapyliani (Our Lady of a Hundred Doors). The oldest remaining Byzantine church in Greece has exceptional architecture, religious icons and an exquisite marble baptismal chamber. Wander the bougainvillea-fringed streets and check out a maze of shops offering fashion, jewelry and local handicrafts.
The most important archaeological and religious site of ancient Greece, Delos remains in an excellent state of preservation. Wander through an amphitheatre, stadium, private palaces and Roman baths, finishing your exploration with a climb up sacred Mount Kythnos for a divine panoramic view of the Cycladic Islands.
Arriving by yacht into Syros is an impressive experience, and stepping off the yacht to visit both the Catholic and Greek Orthodox cathedrals, on their respective hills, is unique in Greece and offers a great view back down to the harbour.
