CATAMARAN CHARTER IN GREECE
Catamarans are distinguished by their dual hulls, offering not only significantly enhanced stability but also increased space, privacy, and comfort compared to traditional monohull sailing yachts. All catamarans boast fantastic sundecks, trampolines, and roomy living areas that provide excellent panoramic views of the stunning Greek landscapes. Catamarans typically feature a shallow draft, allowing them to navigate into shallower waters near the shore, making them an ideal choice for group outings with friends or family.
Below, you can explore our diverse range of catamarans, based in various marinas across Greece, available for bareboat charter, skippered charter, or crewed charter. If you have a specific marina in mind for your charter that differs from the indicated "base marina," please don't hesitate to get in touch with us, and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
Please be aware that for a bareboat charter, it is necessary to hold a valid International Certificate of Competence (ICC). If you possess an ASA or RYA equivalent license, it can be readily converted into an ICC in your home country. Additionally, we recommend that at least one additional guest on board holds an RYA Competent Crew Certificate or its equivalent.

When you charter a catamaran with a crew, you’re not just renting a boat; you’re investing in an experience. The crew, typically consisting of a captain (or skipper) and a hostess, plays a pivotal role in this. Choosing the right islands for your catamaran journey in Greece depends on your interests and the kind of experiences you seek. If you’re looking for vibrant nightlife and cosmopolitan vibes, islands like Mykonos and Santorini are must-visits. For a touch of history and archaeology, Crete and Rhodes offer ancient ruins and museums. Those seeking tranquility might find solace in lesser-known islands like Sifios or Paros . It’s also essential to consider the sailing distances and weather conditions between islands.
One of our most popular catamaran charter experiences is the Saronic Islands tour, which offers a blend of picturesque landscapes, historical sites, and vibrant local cultures, making it a favorite among many of our guests.
Our Tailored Catamaran Adventures Across Greek Islands service can help you craft the perfect itinerary based on your preferences.
Do I Need a License to Rent a Skipperred Catamaran in Greek Waters?
Typically, greece allows to rent a skippered catamaran charter without having a license. The skipper or captain handling the yacht will be responsible for the navigation and operation of the vessel. This allows individuals without boating experience or licenses to still enjoy a sailing holiday without the need for any specialized qualifications. However, it is important to verify the specific requirements and regulations of the charter company or destination you are planning to rent from, as they may have their own policies in place. If you prefer to rent a bareboat yacht charter, you may need a license, especially for larger boats. The specific licensing requirements vary from country to country. In many places, including popular charter destinations like Greece, Croatia, and the British Virgin Islands, a valid sailing license or certification such as the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) or a similar qualification is required for a bareboat catamaran experience.

We were dealt a Royale Flush on the Casino Royale catamaran in the Greek islands. Yachtsailing.com made the transition from our hotel to boat a breeze by Eugene and his staff. We got greeted by our Captain Haris
I listened to the wisdom of Yacht Sailing guru Eugene - who helped me plan a stunning week long adventure with Vicky & Captain Harris which gave our group the time to explore and rest in perfect measures.
This is my first time on a catamaran. I didn’t know what to expect so everything was a new experience for me. This was a trip of a lifetime for my husband and myself.

From the moment of initial contact with Captain Yiannis, everything was seamless.
Our experience has been nothing short of exceptional.
From the moment of initial contact with Captain Yiannis, everything was seamless. This company and the entire team could not have been more helpful! We live in the USA and never had a problem with communication. The Catamaran we selected was the Lagoon 450F. It was beautiful, spacious, clean, and easy to live on for a week as we sailed to beautiful beaches.
The Ionian Islands we visited were breathtaking, especially Kefalonia – it was our favorite! Above all, the feeling of safety that Captain George ensured throughout our trip made our journey even more memorable. We can’t wait to experience it again.
So, if you’re looking for an unforgettable sailing experience around the Greek Islands with a professional company and a knowledgeable and friendly guide, look no further!

Great knowledge of the area and its history.
Excellent week of sailing in the Greek Islands with Yiannis. He has great knowledge of the area and its history. He showed us unique beaches and key sites on the islands. A memorable week of adventure, drama, and weather. A great first visit to the country of Greece and its islands. Recommend Yiannis as a skipper and guide for your trip.

The kids enjoyed jumping off the boat and even steering.
We made it back safely and happily to Paros today. Yianni showed us secluded beaches, surprising chortas and agreed to take us to santorini even though he hates sailing there! The kids enjoyed jumping off the boat and even steering it on occasion. It’s a beautiful part of the world and we’d definitely recommend exploring it.

Yannis is a superb captain
First and foremost, Yannis is a superb captain. He is a true professional and puts the comfort and safety of the guests first. We had a superb week and thanks to the knowledge of Yannis we visited hidden beaches and places that were sublime. Yannis is passionate about sailing, and we all improved our sailing skills and learned about sailing this magical part of the world.
We cannot wait to return and know that Captain Yannis is our go-to Greek master of the seas.”

The best tavernas for dining and the most interesting places to visit.
My friends and I had a terrific sailing trip with Cpt. Yiannis. We sailed islands from Athens to Milos for a week. [...] Captain Yiannis was not only an outstanding skipper, but he also is a very knowledgeable tour guide. [...] Also, he had tremendous knowledge of any island we stopped on the way and recommended the best tavernas for dining and the most interesting places to visit.
The captain was very professional and sailed extremely safe and responsible. Great guy, a great captain, thank you, Captain Yiannis!

Yannis gave us the ideal family yacht
We had a wonderful week of sailing in the Saronic Gulf end of August. Yannis gave us the ideal family yacht for this bareboat charter trip . Together with the charter company we felt us in very good hands, for all questions we had. Except in this year 2020, with these special conditions!
Thanks Yiannis.

Yacht Charters in Greece with Istion
Greece is quite simply the perfect sailing destination in Europe. Blessed with a mild southern Mediterranean climate with an extended summer giving a comfortable sailing season of close to eight months, our small country has over 13,000 kilometres of coastline to explore . That impressive number comes from the over 6000 islands and islets scattered like diamonds in the sea, each of them inviting you to swim for hours, socialise while tasting Greece’s well know cuisine and enjoy the beauty of a Greek summer spent next to the waves. Greece is truly a sailor’s paradise .
At Istion Yachting, we have been providing unforgettable sailing holidays in Greece for more than 30 years. From our humble beginnings on the island of Kos in 1992 we now offer charters throughout Greece from our 11 main charter bases. Our experienced skippers and crews, charter base staff, planning departments and every one of the wider Istion team is an expert in their field and is ready to assist you in planning the perfect sailing holiday in Greece . We look forwarded to welcoming you this summer!
There are so many options, and only so much time. The diversity of the different sailing areas in Greece makes picking just one difficult, which is why so many of our guests come back to sail again and again . There is always another beautiful island to visit and another idyllic beach to swim on!
Peak sailing season is from late June through August with hot weather, warm seas and busy islands. Availability can become limited during this period so booking early is essential.
Late spring from May to June and late summer from September to early October are often considered the best time to sail for experienced sailors and repeat visitors to our country. The weather is great and the islands are more relaxed than the busy summer months.
For those who want to live the real Greek way of life, April and October can be rewarding, with less heat, fewer visitors and enticing low-season offers . A few of the restaurants and shops on some islands may not have opened or may have closed for the season, but in our opinion early and late season sailing in Greece is a magical and unique experience .
The Argo Saronic Gulf is actually two gulfs (the Saronic and Argolic ) that are often referred to together in sailing terms given their close distances to each other. The Saronic Gulf lies in between Athens and the coast of the Argolid Peninsula while the Argolic Gulf is one hop over in between the peninsula and the first large leg of the Eastern Peloponnese , which runs all the way south to Monemvasia.
We often recommend this area to first time sailors for a number of practical reasons. First and foremost, it is the easiest area to reach from Athens , which makes it an ideal spot for those arriving via the Athens International Airport. Within a few hours of touching down you can be swimming and relaxing on board having reached your first destination.
Another advantage is that the area is well protected from the annual Meltemi winds that can blow strongly in July and August and may create challenging conditions for less experienced sailors.
The Argo Saronic Gulf also has plenty of places to visit on either a one or two-week holiday. One-week holidays will usually take in the nearby islands of Aigina and Poros before looping down to the coastal town of Ermioni and the cosmopolitan islands of Spetses and Hydra further south. A visit to Epidavros for a quick trip to its famous ancient theatre is not to be missed for the history buffs.
Two week holidays allow you to explore further east, with the coastal towns of Nafpleio, Leonidio and Kyparissi offering relaxed mooring while cruising the coast of the Eastern Peloponnese.
We invite you to learn more about our Athens charter base , download our sample one-week Saronic Gulf sailing itinerary for inspiration and contact us with any questions, we are here to help you plan your perfect sailing holiday.
Ah, the Cyclades. A name steeped in history that brings the classic image of a Greek island to everyone’s mind. While Greece has many island chains and all of them are unique and magical, the Cyclades has become nearly synonymous with the county as a whole for many visitors.
Characterised by their white houses, rugged landscapes and world famous beaches , the Cyclades attract visitors from around the world and are a must see for everyone at some point in their life. For sailors the area offers a huge variety of routes and islands to visit, from the world famous islands Mykonos and Santorini to the popular Paros and Naxos and many, many more in between.
A note about the Meltemi winds that blow from the north in July and August. In the Cyclades these winds can make for challenging conditions and sailing the area during these times is best for experienced sailors. Don’t despair all you beginner sailors! If you want a helping hand our skippers are the best in Greece and will be happy to take care of the sailing and navigation so you can enjoy the islands worry free.
The Cyclades are reached from our main base in Alimos Marina on the western side of Attica giving quick access to the islands of Kea, Kithnos, Serifos, Sifnos and Milos among others.
Our base in Lavrion is perfect for getting a head start to the islands of Andros, Tinos, Mykonos, Paros and Naxos . The Lavrion base is further south and on the east side of Attica, saving a couple of hours of additional sailing time on your way out. As an added bonus, Lavrion is just half an hour from the Athens International Airport so you can be on your way towards your destination just an hour or two after landing.
Located on the western side of Greece the seven main islands of the Ionian Sea have their own unique charm and character . The Ionian Islands are much greener than most islands in Greece, their location and geography bringing more rainfall during the winter months and allowing trees and shrubs to grow and thrive. The combining of colours between the green of the hills , the white of the sands and the blue of the sea are a special treat for visitors to this area.
Istion maintains three bases in the Ionian, on Corfu in the north and in Lefkas (or Lefkada) and nearby Preveza further south.
Itineraries starting from Corfu may include multiple stops along the Corfu coast, visits to the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos and visits to mainland ports including Parga and Syvota .
Trips starting from Lefkas or Preveza may head either north towards Corfu or South towards the islands of Kalamos and Kastos and then on to the mythical island of Ithaca and nearby Kefalonia . Note that our base in Preveza is just 10 minutes from the Aktion Airport where all charter flights to Lefkas arrive. If your flight times are tight, Preveza is a great option .
We recommend downloading our sample sailing itineraries for trips leaving from Corfu and from Lefkas or Preveza . If you need more recommendations for a truly unique voyage through to the Ionian just contact us , we will be happy to help.
The Dodecanese islands in the southeast Aegean are close to our heart. The central island of Kos is where Istion Yachting first started operations in 1992 .
The Dodecanese are known for their wonderful beaches and rich history ranging from the ancient to the medieval to the modern in a delightful kaleidoscope of sights and sounds . The area has relatively mild wind conditions that are perfect for sailing throughout the year and has plenty of sun and warmth during the summer months.
Istion now has two bases in the Dodecanese, our home base on Kos and another on the historic island of Rhodes . From Kos you may head north towards the islands of Kalimos, Leros and Patmos and if time permits all the way to amazing Ithaki and Fourni .
Heading south from Kos will put you on course to visit the islands north of Rhodes including Nisiros, Tilos and Symi . Setting sail from Rhodes itself also reaches these islands or you can choose to head west, exploring the coast of Rhodes and visiting the quaint island of Chalki and the beautiful islands of Karpathos and Kasos .
Charter flights from most European countries fly direct to both Kos and Rhodes making them a great starting point for your next Aegean adventure !
The Sporades are the hidden gem on the Greek sailing map . Nestled off the eastern coast of central Greece the main islands of Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and Skyros are a beautiful combination of green mountains, sandy and pebble beaches and deep blue seas. Nature plays a staring role here, with the National Marine Park at Alonissos being a significant refuge for the Monachus Monachus or Mediterranean seal .
Sailing conditions in the Sporades are relatively mild, although winds can shift between the day and night requiring some care when mooring. Distances between islands are short allowing a lot of fun to be packed into a week long charter .
We have two charter bases servicing the Sporades, a base on the island of Skiathos where most European charter flights arrive and another on the mainland city of Volos . Volos is a convenient starting spot for guests arriving by road with their own vehicle and allows exploring of the lovely coastline of the Pagasetic Gulf and Pelion on your way out to the islands – highly recommended !
Bareboat Charters
Tailored for the seasoned sailor, bareboat charters hand the helm over to you, allowing complete freedom to navigate the Greek seas at your own pace . Your sailing party must have at least one licensed skipper and one experienced crew member at a minimum to be able to rent our yachts as bareboats.
If you have some sailing experience but do not hold a valid license then a bareboat charter is not (yet) for you and your best option is a skippered charter where our friendly captains will give you a helping hand. If you are an experienced sailor and have no concerns about the challenges of wind conditions, navigation and docking then we invite you to read more about our bareboat charters here and contact us with any questions you may have.
Skippered Charters
Our skippered charters are the perfect blend of guidance and freedom, designed for those who have some sailing experience, are eager to learn or just want to relax and let a professional do the hard work . With an Istion skipper at your side, you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with their expert navigation and docking skills while still playing an active role in your sailing adventure.
It's an educational and exhilarating experience where you can hone your sailing skills, participate in manoeuvring the yacht, and even take the helm under the watchful eye of your skipper. It is an amazing experience for everyone and kids in particular have a great time learning about sailing and playing little captain for a week.
Our skippered charters always start off with a briefing between you and your skipper so you can learn about the area you are going to sail and the islands you may want to visit. Our skippers know the Greek seas inside out and based on your preferences they will suggest recommended itineraries to follow, which islands to visit and what hidden beaches to swim at.
If you are planning your first sailing holiday in Greece , you are in the very best hands with Istion's professional skippers by your side. Read more about our skippered charters here , or just get in touch to start planning your perfect sailing holiday in Greece.
Fully Crewed Charters
For those of you that want to indulge in the epitome of maritime luxury, our crewed charters promise a carefree and opulent experience in Greece. This option is perfect for those who wish to sit back, relax, and soak in the Mediterranean sun while every detail is taken care of by our professional crew. From expert navigation to gourmet meals, and from personalized itineraries to attentive service, every aspect of your voyage is meticulously curated to ensure unparalleled comfort and elegance .
Crewed charters are available on a range of our top end sailing yachts and catamarans , and for those that want the thrum of an engine beneath their feet and to make a grand entrance wherever they go our exclusive motor yachts are waiting for you to step aboard. A crewed charter with Istion isn't just a holiday; it's an all-inclusive experience where you are the honoured guest and the Greek Isles your exclusive playground . Discover more about our fully crewed dream vacations here .
Sailing Yachts
Sailing yachts are perfect for those who love the classic feeling of sailing. Designed to be easy to handle, they smoothly glide through the water and let you enjoy the natural beauty of the Greek seas. They're a bit slower than other boats, and they lean to one side when the wind blows, which is all part of the classic sailing adventure. Their charming appearance and comfortable ride make them ideal for those who want to experience traditional sailing in a relaxed and eco-friendly way.
Sailing yachts are also the most budget friendly option for a sailing holiday in Greece. Our smaller yachts with three cabins and space for up to six guests (or eight if two sleep in the main cabin) can be rented for as little as roughly 1200 Euros a week in the low season. Costs for larger yachts with up to 6 cabins and space for up to 12 guests rise to approximately 10.000 Euros a week in the high season.
At Istion, we proudly offer a wide selection of the latest models as well as impeccably maintained older sailing yachts from Jeanneau, Beneteau, Bavaria, Sun Odyssey, Hanse and other top shipyards. Whether you're planning a cozy trip for a small group or a grand sailing adventure for a larger party, we have the right yacht to suit your needs.
Catamarans are the choice for those who want lots of space and a stable, comfortable trip. With their two-hull design, they don't rock as much as sailing yachts, which is great if you're new to sailing or easily feel seasick. You can also get closer to the beach with a catamaran, as they don't sit very deep in the water. Catamarans offer a smooth and spacious experience, making for a relaxing and comfortable sailing holiday and are a very popular choice for first time sailors in Greece.
For families and larger groups, the bigger cabins and more room to move around on a catamaran make them a good fit for your holiday. The double hull layout means two families can easily sail together while each having their own 'private space' on either side of the main deck. Catamarans also tend to have one washroom per cabin, a feature all parents with teenage kids appreciate.
The comfort and space offered in a catamaran puts them in a higher budget bracket than our monohull sailing yachts. Our smallest catamarans with four cabins and room for up to 10 guests start at roughly 2100 Euros per week in low season. Our top of the line models can range up to 16.000 Euros plus in the middle of the high season.
We are proud to have one of the largest fleets of catamarans in Greece with brand new models from Lagoon, Bali and Fountaine Pajot among others. We invite you to browse all our catamarans and contact us for any guidance you need to help make your sailing adventure in Greece perfect in every way.
Motor Yachts
Motor yachts are all about luxury and speed. They have multiple levels with lots of space, including big bedrooms and expansive living areas. These boats move quickly, powered by strong engines, so they're great if you want to explore a lot of places fast and make an impressive entrance wherever you go.
Our motor yachts are all modern, with plush interiors and all the latest features for entertainment and entertaining. However, they do use more fuel and require a professional captain and crew, so there's a higher cost for this kind of luxury and speed. If you're looking for a high-end and fast-paced trip with all the modern comforts, motor yachts are the way to go .

Guest Experience
“We were blessed with nearly perfect weather, a wonderfully kind crew, and incredible sights! We hope this won’t be our last time in Greece and certainly not the last we’ll see of this crew or vessel!”
❛ Over the last couple of years, we have seen an increase in the popularity of crewed catamaran charters in Greece. Popular especially with first-time charterers, catamarans are a great entry point into the world of crewed charters. Catamarans have low fuel consumption and can often accommodate up to 10 guests, leaving a higher percentage of the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) for food and drinks.
Another trend of crewed catamaran charter in Greece is their increasing size. A few years ago, there were only a few luxury catamarans over 50 feet. Now, the new luxury catamarans joining the fleet are much longer; some are over 70 feet and even come with amenities like jacuzzi and jet skis!”

2. GRAYONE | 80 FT SUNREEF
GRAYONE is another 80-foot Sunreef sailing catamaran charter. She has a very fashionable dark grey hull color, highlighting her gorgeous exterior lines and the enormous deck area covering the three teak decks.
She is a luxury catamaran with a creative internal layout that allows for a front bar complete with a wine cellar to serve guests both inside the boat and on the foredeck. Guests will have a hard time deciding between the aft cockpit, the spacious flybridge, and the upper deck, which features two loungers, integrated seating with breathtaking views of the Greek waters, and a cocktail table.
In contrast to the traditional nautical decor found on other luxury catamarans of comparable size, the interior of this one features a light ceiling and floors, dark blue and white tones, and a warm, welcome soft orange utilized in part for the materials.
A wide electro-hydraulic bathing platform is essential for the luxury crewed catamaran GRAYONE to store the fast tender , which is powered by 110hp and can reach speeds of over 35 knots. Along with the floating deck, the water toys , which include a SeaDoo jet ski, water skis, and a 16-square-meter floating swimming pool, may be securely thrown into the water.
Why Choose a Catamaran Charter for Your Greek Yacht Vacation?
A Catamaran Charter is a popular way of chartering in the Greek islands. The base charter fee is significantly lower compared to other boats and especially to motor yachts.
A sailing trip in the Greek islands can also be a bit challenging for those new to chartering. A Catamaran charter is a more comfortable choice due to its stability on the water and its increased onboard space, allowing for larger groups to share their sailing vacation and the bill.
3. IPHARRA | 102 FT SUNREEF
IPHARRA is one of Sunreef’s larger sailing catamarans. Her expansive flybridge is equipped with a bar, large sofa, and deck chairs providing guests with the freedom to enjoy in the shade or tan in the sun. The open area is the perfect spot to enjoy the chef’s creative cooking style for alfresco dining during your sailing holiday.
Her captain, Frenchman Frank Ferrey, is a literal sea wolf , having sailed the oceans of the world for the past 18 years , having broken the record of the round the World Jules Vernes Trophy in 2004 .
Down IPHARRA’s spiral staircase is the ideal venue for both dining and relaxing in luxury with up to 10 guests . As the sun sets, the LED lights on the ceiling sparkle magically in the night.
IPHARRA has a full selection of water toys for charter guests to take advantage of, including waterskis, sailing Laser Vago, 2 electric sea bobs, 8 sets of diving equipment, 1 kayak, and snorkeling gear. IPHARRA offers two tenders available for use as well.
There are Several Advantages to a Catamaran Charter Greece
- Less Port Restrictions than Motor Yachts
Catamarans are considered sailing yachts and often can leave port when motor yachts are forbidden to sail . A typical situation is August in the Cyclades Islands , where the Meltemi (strong, annual northerly winds) can keep a significant number of yachts grounded . Choosing catamaran sailing allows the captain to use the leeward side of the islands to navigate in protected waters (as far as wind and waves are concerned), taking advantage of the best sailing conditions in the Greek archipelagos.
- Catamarans Have Shallower Draft
Athens (possibly the Marina Alimos ) is the starting location of a typical crewed catamaran charter. Being lighter than t he super motor yachts, catamarans can perhaps reach more of the beautiful beaches and secluded coves scattered around the coastline of the Greek islands.
- More Space for More People
The smaller sailing yachts usually accommodate fewer people than catamarans , making the cost per guest higher, while, the larger sailing boats are often more expensive (due to crew size, maintenance costs, boat size, and berthing fees) and are considered more of a luxury.
On the other hand, Motor yachts can host a similar number of guests (up to 12) but at an even higher cost per passenger. Incorporating the APA – especially the cost of fuel (some motor yachts can consume up to 600 liters per hour) makes the difference even more dramatic.
4. GENNY | 80 FT SUNREEF
Genny is a high-end, Greek charter catamaran with a Jetski . Have a look at the flybridge area – the deck size and comfort are comparable to motor yachts. Genny is a quite new sailing catamaran(2021) and clearly shows the trend of luxury catamarans growing in size in recent years – especially the larger Sunreef catamarans.
The Italian chef Errico underlines the status of Genny, placing it as a cross between catamarans and motor yachts. Not many sailing catamarans have the main saloon featuring a dinner table accommodating all guests .
Check our reviews, Genny has a crew of 6 providing a high level of service being able to surprise and plan fantastic activities – on the water as well as on land.
Genny comes equipped with a 28 ft motor dinghy and a sailing dinghy, plus kayaks, SUPs, sea scooters, sea bobs, snorkeling, and fishing gear. With the guidance of the expert crew members, you can explore hidden charms such as secluded beaches, gardens, and underwater zones.
“As a long-time charter guest in the Med and the Caribbean, I can say that you are unequivocally THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS!… What made the trip so fantastic was the skill, dedication, and expertise each one of you provided during the charter. Thank you for making these seven days of PURE MAGIC!”

The crew managed to deliver an exceptional experience, service, and food within the confines of our original APA budget. The boat, of course, is a beauty. So gracefully designed and well-appointed, with ample storage space and lots of comfortable places to gather. We loved every minute aboard that yacht.”
Where to Go on a Catamaran Charter Greece?
#1 is a catamaran charter in the saronic islands.
Due to catamarans’ lower sailing speed, the most popular sailing vacation spots for a catamaran charter are the Saronic Gulf and Ionian Islands.
A sailing itinerary in the Saronic Gulf takes you to some of the most beautiful Greek islands in the Aegean Sea with some of the best beaches. Plus, you have short distances for island hopping, allowing you to fit more into your itinerary and focus on exploring the islands.
The Ionian Islands have Several Advantages for Catamaran Charters
Also note that catamaran charters are on the rise in the Ionian Islands , with more greenery and less wind! You can be lucky to find a catamaran charter already in the Ionian Sea (several have been moving there this summer), or you can find a catamaran charter starting in Athens and heading through the amazing Corinth Canal, well worth experiencing.
The Cyclades are Harder to Get to on a Catamaran Charter, but…
The Cyclades islands are reachable with a crewed catamaran charter, but they are weather-dependent due to strong “meltemi” winds in the summer.
If you have your mind set on a sailing itinerary in the Cyclades Islands , we suggest you inquire about starting your luxury crewed catamaran charter there. We can provide a list of yachts in the area that are available for your luxury Yacht charter vacation in Greece.
9. APHAEA | 67 FT FOUNTAINE PAJOT
APHAEA’s interior is strikingly modern and incredibly spacious , providing the ultimate comfort and luxury . The flybridge and forward deck provide plenty of space for sunbathing and relaxing, while the aft cockpit is ideal for socializing and alfresco dining, featuring an outdoor BBQ.
Her captain, Greek Michalis Kassaris immediately makes everyone feel at ease with his cool demeanor and charming smile . His extensive sailing expertise includes everything from boat maintenance to competing in sailing competitions , and because of Michalis’ exceptional maritime expertise and his background as a lifeguard, safety will be guaranteed, making your trip even more enjoyable. He is also fluent in both English and Spanish , and he has a great rapport with kids.
APHAEA as the charter comes with green initiatives and a filtration system . APHAEA’s captain used to be a lifeguard , so has a vast knowledge of the seas and makes safety his first priority.
Comes equipped with a 4,60 m. dinghy, two Seabobs, waterskis, wakeboard, kayak, and towable.
10. SERENISSIMA | 67 FT FOUNTAINE PAJOT
Serenissima is a luxury catamaran charter for your Greece yacht charter vacation. The flybridge together with the forward deck offers plenty of space for sunbathing and relaxing and the aft cockpit is a great area for socializing and alfresco dining.

A piece of advice, newer yachts are often more fuel-efficient.
It is no secret that, compared to sailing yachts, motor yachts consume a large amount of fuel and generally entail significantly higher charter costs. This might be a pivotal consideration for those planning a charter in Greece on a budget. But, for those set on a motor yacht, it is worth looking at newer motor yachts rather than older models. Although an older motor yacht might have a cheaper initial cost, the better fuel efficiency of a newer engine will save you money in the long run.
DON’T SET YOUR BUDGET TOO LOW
We have seen a significant increase in size among top-tier motor yachts in recent years allowing for the accommodation of larger groups of guests, along with the inclusion of amenities and luxuries previously uncommon, such as generous water toy collections, open-air Jacuzzis, and much more.
Spending a little more on a motor yacht can get you a lot more for your $$!
BOOK EARLY TO SECURE YOUR YACHT
Make sure to book your Greek yacht charter well in advance. Ideally, you would inquire about your coming charter 12 months in advance . WHY? The best charter yachts are often fully booked long in advance and it’s not unusual to see popular dates booked 2 summers ahead for a Greece yacht charter. Inquiring less than 6 months ahead often means that your first choice is unavailable for charter.

The Cyclades’ most popular superyacht destination is arguably Santorini; however, beyond this uber-exclusive port of call lie plenty of island gems to cruise to, including Ios, Paros, Antiparos, Mykonos, and Milos. Explore historic towns rich in Venetian and Byzantine architecture, discover abundant olive groves, or relax on white sandy beaches, such as the iconic Smuggler’s Cove on the island of Zakynthos. There’s no question that the best way to explore the Ionian Islands is by luxury yacht.
The Dodecanese Islands
Lying in an elegant arch that runs parallel to the Turkish coast, the Dodecanese Islands are rich in history and boast a vibrant tapestry of cultures. Many of the islands can trace their roots back to the Byzantine and Ottoman empires. Highlights include the islands of Rhodes and Kos, rich in UNESCO World Heritage Sites, while lesser-known islands such as Lipsi, Tilos, and Symi offer tranquil charm in abundance. Island-hop these fascinating islands at your own pace while enjoying all the luxuries of your private yacht.
What are the best Greek Islands to explore?

Athens, the capital of Greece and a crucial hub for human culture and knowledge
History buffs will be in awe at Greece’s myriad of other ancient ruins and treasures during a Greece yacht rental. Home to the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the hilltop citadel, and a variety of other precious fortunes, Athens, on mainland Greece, is the capital and veritable birthplace of the country.
Here, the tales of Grecian heroes and epic battles against the prevailing gods were born. The city is also claimed to be the birthplace of Western civilization. As you wander through the streets of antiquity, take in the history that abounds, enjoying and exploring every moment. Athens isn’t just old-world, however, as the city has grown to a more cosmopolitan section. You can plan to spend a day ashore in the Psiri district of Athens, a trendy spot to shop, dine, and enjoy a night on the town. Afterward, head back to the comfort of your yacht for a nightcap, followed by a restful sleep in your beautifully appointed stateroom.
Exploring Poros and the Peloponnese on a Greek journey
Just south of Athens, you will find Poros, a small pair of islands in the Saronic Gulf. This archipelago is easily accessible from the mainland and is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enter into a world of pure perfection with our Greece yacht charters cruising the ionian sea. Despite its size, only 31 square kilometers, Poros is home to many irresistible beaches, fascinating archeological sites — including the Sanctuary of Poseidon — and a picturesque little town that will make you feel like you’re in a storybook. The laid-back atmosphere combined with lively tavernas makes Poros a must-visit while on a luxury boat rental to Greece. Don’t skip a stop in Peloponnese, a stunning region in south Greece and an incredible location to explore and admire. There you will find ancient relics and ruins amongst ancient Olympia, where the first Olympics were held in honor of Zeus.
Thessaloniki is widely renowned as the cultural capital of Greece. Situated in Macedonia, the city is heaving with history. Ancient Byzantine walls surround the city and protect its museums, galleries and cultural enclaves. Foodies will appreciate the abundance of incredible restaurants found in Thessaloniki, where you can indulge in fantastic cultural delights and delicacies. Featuring the most incredible Grecian-style fare, diners will be delighted by the options available. Just south of Thessaloniki is the Halkidiki region, which is famous for its incredible sweeping views and beautiful beaches.
