Disney’s Yacht Club opened back on November 5, 1990. Its sister location is the Beach Club located right next to it. The Yacht Club is a beautifully themed resort with nautical and beach themes. We are going to tell you everything you need to know about this wonderful resort in our Ultimate Disney Yacht Club Review + Insider Tips!

There are so many great aspects to this resort such as its location, pools, transportation options, and amenities. If you are thinking about staying at the Yacht Club, read on to find out if this resort is a good fit for you!

Where Is The Yacht Club At Disney Located?

One of the best reasons to stay at Disney’s Yacht Club is the fantastic location! This resort is within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios . There are also several different transportation options to all of the parks, Disney Springs , and the water parks .

The Yacht Club is directly next to the Beach Club, and they share the pool. Now you not only have access to all of the Yacht Club’s restaurants and amenities, but you also have access to the Beach Club’s!

The Yacht and Beach Club are right across the water from Disney’s Boardwalk Resort . It is a short walk away to enjoy everything the Boardwalk has to offer! There are some fun restaurants, bars, and shops to explore there.

The Yacht Club is also very close to the Swan and Dolphin Hotels. There is a pathway to take you right over to these hotels for some extra fun as well!

Not only are there other resorts within walking distance of the Yacht Club, but there are also resorts that are a quick Skyliner trip away! Taking the Skyliner from Epcot’s International Gateway, you can visit Disney’s Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century , and Art of Animation!

Disney’s Yacht Club is in a very prime location with quick access to two of the parks and multiple resorts!

Checking in to The Yacht Club At Disney

Checking into the Yacht Club is extremely easy, and it doesn’t even require you to visit the front desk! The day of your reservation, you can check in to the resort from the My Disney Experience app . The app will let you know when your room is ready and what your room number will be! If you have magic bands or even your phone , you can head straight to your room and unlock the door.

Of course, you can always go the old school route and check-in at the front desk. All the cast members at Disney’s Yacht Club are extremely friendly and accommodating! A great tip to keep in mind is you can always see if there are any upgrades available for your room. We were able to get a free upgrade from a standard view to a water view!

The lobby is also absolutely amazing here. It has a very adventurous and nautical theme to it. You can find everything you need right in this area, such as the restaurant, lounge, bell services, and the front desk.

Right outside the backside of the lobby, there is a boardwalk that will lead you to the boat transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Transportation Options From The Yacht Club

We love all of the transportation options the Yacht Club has to offer, and we’re sure you will too! As mentioned before, there are walking paths to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The Epcot walking path is very short and will get you to the International Gateway in about 5 – 10 minutes. The entrance at International Gateway is on the back side of Epcot by World Showcase .

The walking path to Hollywood Studios is a little bit longer than the Epcot one. This one can take 20 minutes or more. However, there is boat transportation to Hollywood Studios if you don’t want to walk! You can find boat transportation right behind the lobby that will take you to Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

If you don’t want to walk or take the boat to Hollywood Studios, you can always take the Skyliner! There is a Skyliner location right outside International Gateway that will take you first to Disney’s Riviera Resort, and then to the Skyliner central hub at Caribbean Beach Resort. From here you will get off the Skyliner and get in line for a different Skyliner track to take you to Hollywood Studios.

So there are so many options to get to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, but what about the other parks? Disney has bus transportation from the Yacht Club to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Spring, and the water parks.

If you plan on spending a lot of time at either Epcot or Hollywood Studios, the Yacht Club is one of the best resorts to stay at.

Disney Yacht Club Room Review

There are several different room options at the Yacht Club. There is Standard View, Water View, Garden or Woods View, and 2 Bedroom Suites. All of the view rooms also have club level options.

I was able to stay in a Water View room. The room was absolutely delightful! It had a nautical theme to match the rest of the resort, and it was quite spacious. The room had two queen beds and a pull out couch, so it was able to sleep up to 5 guests. We only had 4 guests in our room, but I could imagine the pull out bed might make the room feel a little more cramped.

The room had large closets with space to hang clothes, and a big sink and bathroom area with two sinks. The shower had a sliding glass door, which I prefer over a curtain.

I really liked that this room had wood flooring compared to carpet. It added to the nautical theme very well. The room also had a balcony that looked over the back entrance of the lobby and the water. Overall, the room was very nice, and I thoroughly enjoyed its set up!

Yacht Club rooms average in price anywhere between $400 to over $3000 per night depending on what room you stay in and what time of the year you visit.

Dining Options At The Yacht Club

There are some really great and delicious dining options at the Yacht Club. This resort has two restaurants, two lounges, a quick service restaurant, a restaurant located in between the Yacht and Beach Club, and a pool bar.

The two restaurants at the Yacht Club are Ale & Compass and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Yachtsman Steakhouse is currently temporarily unavailable, but Ale & Compass is open for breakfast and dinner. This restaurant follows the nautical theme with a relaxing atmosphere and some delicious coastal eats.

The Ale & Compass Lounge is located adjacent to the restaurant. Here, you can order off the lounge menu and even the restaurant menu. This lounge can fill up quickly at night though, so make sure to grab a seat early if you want to eat or drink here.

The other lounge, Crew’s Cup Lounge, is right next to Yachtsman Steakhouse and is also temporarily unavailable. We hope that the lounge and restaurant will open soon!

The quick service location shares a spot with the Yacht Club’s gift shop. When you enter the Market at Ale & Compass, on the right is the gift shop and on the left is the quick service restaurant. They serve coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and more. This is a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat to or from the parks!

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is the hidden gem of the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts! This restaurant is located in between the two resorts and serves some wonderful food! They are open for lunch and dinner and they serve sandwiches and burgers. My favorite is their Grilled Cheese sandwich, its delicious!

However, save room for the best part of this restaurant. The ice cream! They have shakes, floats, and sundaes! You can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. If you’re feeling really brave though, try the Kitchen Sink sundae. This sundae is meant for 4 or more people, and includes every topping and a whole can of whipped cream! I have attempted it twice, and I still haven’t been able to finish it. Maybe you can!

Hurricane Hanna’s Grill is the pool bar located right next to Stormalong Bay. They have a few food items and some refreshing drinks.

Yacht Club Swimming Pools

The Yacht and Beach Club have hands down the best swimming pools on Disney World property. It’s considered more of a small water park than swimming pools because it’s so large!

Stormalong Bay is 3 acres of refreshing fun! It includes a large sand bottomed pool and a lazy river. There are waterfalls, a volleyball net in the pool, and a water slide.

This water slide is no joke. You climb a large shipwrecked ship all the way to the top and then slide down this long and exciting slide! Stormalong Bay even has a “beach” area with sand to play with! After all that fun, go relax in one of 3 whirlpool spas.

Right by the entrance to the water slide is a small kid play area with a mini water slide. This is a great introduction to the big slide for nervous kids!

Don’t need all the excitement of Stormalong Bay? There are also 3 leisure pools at the Yacht and Beach Club for guests to enjoy.

If you plan on staying at the Yacht Club, you must plan a resort day into your schedule! Make some time for this awesome mini water park and relax away from the parks! You won’t regret it.

Amenities At The Yacht Club Resort

There are so many fun amenities and things to do at Disney’s Yacht Club. When it comes to activities, there are fishing excursions, a tennis court, a sand volleyball court, jogging trails, motorized boat rentals, an arcade, and a fitness center. Just ask the front desk if you’d like to book a fishing excursion or rent a boat to go out on the water!

The Yacht Club even has a spa! Ship Shape Massage Salon is a full service spa that can do massages, facials, hairstyling, and nails. We all need a relaxing day every once and awhile! Why not enjoy the spa on your day off from the parks?

The resort also has campfire activities, movies under the stars, and a Pirate Adventure Cruise (which is unfortunately temporarily unavailable at the moment). The Yacht Club is within walking distance of the Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Golf. Go show off your mini golf skills at this adorably themed course!

This resort really has a lot of fun things for you and your family to enjoy! You will definitely want to take a day away from the parks to enjoy this amazing resort!

Overall Thoughts On Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

We at Disney Trippers absolutely love Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The whole place is incredibly peaceful and beautiful. It has the perfect mix of being family friendly and adult friendly with lots of things to do. So whether you’re traveling with a bunch of adults or your kids, everyone will enjoy it!

Most everything is in super close distance to this resort. The only time you will have to take the bus is to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Spring, or the water parks. The other parks and some resorts are really easy to get to, making this a top notch location for a resort.

If you have a day off from the parks, make sure to enjoy all of the amenities the Yacht Club has to offer. You could spend a whole day just having fun at the resort! You definitely don’t want to miss out on this place!

We stayed at the Disney Yacht Club the last time we were at DW. We loved it. The staff was outstanding. It was an adult family vacation, and due to different work schedules, some family members had to fly in at different times. The staff accommodated each one and made them feel as if they already knew them. We loved the location as we could walk to different locations. We tried the Kitchen Sink sundae, but couldn’t finish it. We sure had fun trying. We actually took one day to enjoy the resort and were not disappointed. We spent time in the swimming pool, which was amazing with the sand bottom. Lunch was an delicious lobster roll and we finished off at the steakhouse. I would certainly recommend this resort to all who are considering a trip to Disney World.

The older sister to the Beach Club Resort , the Disney Yacht Club rests on the Crescent Lake, completing the trio of resort areas on the boardwalk area.

While the Yacht Club shares some features and amenities with the Beach Club , it is a mistake to think that they are one and the same.

Created to be slightly more upscale, the Disney Yacht Club has its own unique flavor that sets it apart from its sister.

While the architecture is generally the same, the subtle gray color sets the Yacht Club apart from the Beach Club . This shade also sets the upscale tone. The nautical theme is still present, however the focus is more on boatmen and sailing rather than the beach itself. Jewel tones match the variety of woods in the lobby and hallways, giving the Yacht Club the feel of a fancy ship rather than a beach resort. Throughout the resort, the décor emphasizes sailing and sea voyages, a more serious side to the ocean.

The Disney Yacht Club shares some facilities with the Beach Club , like access to the pools and fitness center. However, it has plenty of its own charms that are not to be ignored. You will also love taking advantage of the proximity to the boat rentals, which fits with the overall resort theme. Don’t forget to get out on the Disney BoardWalk and enjoy the sights!

The resort is comparable in size to the Beach Club (without the Villas), and is attached to one of the convention centers Disney has on site. This makes the Yacht Club an ideal local for a convention, large business meeting, or a wedding. Packages are available to create the perfect experience for a large gathering, and Disney is prepared whether it’s for work or pleasure.

A Voyage Through Time – The History of the Disney Yacht Club

The Disney Yacht Club was the first of the resorts to grace Crescent Lake, opening November 5, 1990, shortly before the Beach Club later that month. Robert Stern, who had a passion for replicating the vintage American vacation experience, designed both the Yacht and Beach Clubs. Eventually, Stern would go on to add the BoardWalk Inn to this resort region, rounding it out in both theme and area. Altogether, these resorts comprise the main Epcot resort area, as well as creating their own small world of a historic New England summer.

The Yacht and Beach Clubs are opposite sides of the marine coin – one focusing on the navigation of the sea while the other fun times at the beach. Both are full of the Disney magic we know and love!

At the Disney Yacht Club, you’ll find plenty to choose from when it comes to the room selection . Decide between a water, garden, or standard view depending on your preference. Additionally, for a bit more, you can book some of these offerings with Club Level perks. The Yacht Club also has two-bedroom suites if you need something with just a bit more space.

These can be particularly nice, especially if you are planning to hang out at the resort throughout your trip. That extra breakfast option doesn’t hurt either!

Room Layouts

In the standard rooms, regardless of view, you could find a number of configurations. Options include two queen beds, two queen beds and a day bed, one queen bed and a twin-size sleeper chair plus a day bed, one king bed, or one king bed and a day bed. What is great about having so many options is you can take into account the type and size of your party. From there, choose the room that best fits your needs.

Standard rooms are “all in one,” meaning the bedroom and living areas are in the same space. With that in mind, take the time to determine what fits your needs. Just traveling as a couple? Spring for the king bed rather than dealing with the extra space of the extra queen. Only have one child? The single bed and day bed would be better for you. Two kids? How much is it worth to you to give them their own places to sleep?

Two bedroom suites have a king bed in one room and two queen beds in the other. Additionally, there is a queen-sized sleeper sofa if you need just a little more space. This is a great way to get your whole party into one room while still providing privacy to everyone. Multiple bedrooms and a living area also means multiple TVs, which can be a godsend when traveling with kids (or the in-laws). We suggest piling all the kids in your group into the room with the queens, leaving the adults to the privacy of their own areas.

Stormalong Bay

Stormalong Bay is like a miniature water park, complete with a 230-foot water slide, lazy river, and whirlpool section. Oh, did I mention that the slide is shaped like a shipwreck? It’s so cool, and a great spot to snap a photo!

In addition to the amazing pool spaces, there’s actual sand at the bottom of the pool to make it feel like you’re really on the shore! A shallow section of the pool also holds a bit of extra sand for kids to play and build. This is great for your kiddos who don’t really want to get all the way in the pool, but want to join in the fun. Feel free to bring your own buckets and sand toys! Stormalong Bay is heated year-round, so no need to worry that it will feel like the ocean. Even the hot tubs are like their own personal oases, hidden throughout the pool complex like natural hot springs.

If you want to secure yourself a spot at this popular pool, you can rent a poolside cabana . Splurge a little on the extra privacy and comfort! These cabanas have their own padded furniture, television, resort phone, plush towels, and a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary soda and water. You also have access to a small safe for personal belongings you may not want to leave sitting out. While the cabana doesn’t come with food, you can order food to the cabana for an extra charge.

Know Before You Go

Stormalong Bay, sadly, is one of the worst kept secrets on Disney property. It is one of the most popular pools at Disney World , and can get crowded quickly. Part of the reason for this is that Stormalong Bay is shared between the Yacht and Beach Clubs. While Stormalong Bay certainly is big enough to accommodate both resorts, guests tend to hang around the pool for a while. Some guests even spend the whole day (or multiple days) at this inland beach. Moral of the story – if you want to go to Stormalong Bay, make sure you get there early. Or rent a cabana.

Also, make sure you have your MagicBand or phone readily available when headed to the Bay. You will need it to both get into the pool are and prove that you are a Yacht Club guest. This pool is so beloved that guests from other resorts try to sneak in. Especially during peak seasons, Cast Members may ask to scan your MagicBand to be sure you are actually staying at the Beach Club. Please don’t be offended if this happens to you – the Cast Members are just doing their jobs, and it is really to your benefit. It keeps other guests from taking your space!

Leisure Pools

If you’re looking for somewhere a bit quieter to relax, you might want to try one of the three leisure pools. The Yacht and Beach Clubs each have their own, and the Beach Club Villas have one as well. While each pool is designed to serve the guests in those areas, all the pools at both the Yacht and Beach Clubs (including the Villas) are open to all Yacht and Beach Club guests.

Ship Shape – Massage, Spa, Salon, and Fitness

If you’re looking for a place to spoil yourself, or just get a good work out, you want Ship Shape . A massage, salon, and fitness center, it covers all your physical needs. Located at the Yacht Club, but available to all guests, Ship Shape is a great way to keep up with your workout routine while you’re on vacation. You can use the fitness center at any time of day or night, just use your MagicBand to swipe yourself in.

You should also make time for the incredible spa services, including massages and facials. Get a little “me” time with a Swedish massage for yourself, or indulge in a romantic massage for two. Add a reflexology foot massage, aromatherapy, or extra time to any massage appointment for a bit extra.

Right next store to the spa, you can find the salon. Haircuts and other treatments are available for men, women, and children. They even have a special session designed just for the kids to make them look like a Disney character ! The salon also offers a wide variety of nail services, whether you need a touch up or want to get your nails done for a special night out.

If you are planning to use either the spa or salon, you’ll need to book in advance. Call (407) 939-7727 for spa appointments and (407) 939-4526 for the salon. Only guests 18 and older can book the appointments, although younger guests can absolutely use the facilities (while accompanied by an adult). Please note, if your plans change, you need to call to cancel within six hours of your appointment window to avoid paying for the full price of your service.

Those that choose to travel with their own transportation, do have to pay the overnight parking fee for each night of your stay. At the Yacht Club, the fee is $25 a night or $33 for valet. The parking charge goes on the bill at the end of your vacation, so you don’t have to worry about paying it every day.

A major benefit to paying this fee is that you don’t have to also pay to park at the theme parks , which can save you both time and money. There’s something nice about having your own car versus waiting on Disney transportation, so don’t fret about bringing your own car. Growing up, that’s what we always did, and the benefits definitely outweigh the spending.

Sports and Recreation at the Disney Yacht Club

The Disney Yacht Club shares many of its facilities with the Beach Club, and that includes its recreation offerings. While that does mean double the guests trying to do the same activities, there’s enough offered that you won’t feel overcrowded!

I also suggest trying some of the fun surrounding the Yacht Club – there’s lots to see and do over on the BoardWalk side, as well as over by the Swan & Dolphin resorts. All of these areas are a quick walk or boat ride away, so you don’t have to worry about transportation.

Pirate Adventure Cruise

For the kids in your group, consider booking a Pirate Cruise! With the massive rise in popularity of the Disney pirate characters, these lake cruises are perfect for little adventurers.

Kiddos ages 4-12 can join a pirate crew and set sail across Crescent Lake and Epcot park’s World Showcase Lagoon. Departing from the Bayside Marina, right next to the Yacht Club, your little sailors will hear the tale “The Legend of the Albatross” while they follow clues to find a hidden treasure. At the end of the trip, the triumphant buccaneers will split the pirate bounty and enjoy a feast (snack) together!

If you’ve booked yourself something at the spa or the salon, this is a great way for your kids to be entertained and try something new, enabling you to relax and enjoy your treatment. If you have littler ones, we suggest that you make sure they are accompanied by an older child from your party.

Evening Activities

Why let the fun end when the sun goes down? Like many other resorts, the Disney Yacht Club has fun family-focused activities in the evening to help you wind down your day. Enjoy roasting marshmallows over a campfire before watching a movie under the stars!

Located on a lawn outdoors near the Beach Club volleyball courts, you’ll find Cast Members waiting for you with the materials for your delicious snack before showing a family-friendly Disney film . Sometimes the film is shown in the Solarium depending on the weather.

Traditional Sports

Want to get out and enjoy the sunshine? The Yacht Club makes available plenty of more traditional sports opportunities for all the active members of your group.

Fun for the whole family, rent a surrey bike , clattering along and ringing your bell all along the boardwalk. Enjoy a round of tennis or the jogging trails for some light exercise. Runners will also love just taking a few laps around the boardwalk, as it connects the main Epcot resort areas. This is a great way to get moving in the morning, without having to travel particularly far. If you’re up early enough, you’ll get some fantastic pictures of the BoardWalk , Yacht Club, and Beach Club!

Right by the Tidal Pool, there are a few beach volleyball courts if you’re looking for a friendly game. These are first come, first serve (no pun intended).

You can even go on a guided bass-fishing excursion if you’re dying to get out on the water. Head out onto Crescent Lake, and see what’s biting!

Boat Rentals

Even if you’re not a big fisherman, you can rent motorized boats of various sizes to go out and enjoy Crescent Lake. Speed around the lake in the Sea Raycers, explore the sights in the slightly larger Boston Whaler, or take the whole family on a slow and smooth pontoon ride.

The Sea Racyers are particularly great, as they are light and fast. Built for two passengers, you’ll have a blast racing your family members…just be careful of other boats! Before I could even drive I car, I was able to captain a Sea Racyer, and I loved every minute!

Transportation Options

For airline guests, the best option is Disney’s Magical Express (at least until they finish building the train !). On my most recent trip, I remembered all over again why I love this free service. It’s so nice just to get off the plane, grab your bags, and head straight down to the motor coach. Disney did just recently release that Magical Express will end in 2022, so if you’re travelling any time soon, use it before it’s gone!

Like all Disney resorts , the Yacht Club also uses the Disney bus transportation, taking guests from the resort to the parks and Disney Springs. The busses won’t directly take you to other resorts, but if you head to Disney Springs you can catch a bus to a different resort. You’ll find the Yacht Club bus stop right outside the main lobby and car loop to the left. This is the only bus stop for the Yacht Club, so if your room is a bit further away you might want to account for the walking time when you’re headed to the bus. While the Yacht and Beach Club each have their own bus stop at the resort, they will take the same bus from the parks, so make sure you’re getting off at the right place.

Of course, the Yacht Club is so close to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios that it might just be faster to walk. In fact, if you’re trying to do anything other than walk to Epcot, you’re going to end up costing yourself time! In terms of the Studios, it can be a bit of a hike, so there are a few other options you might want to take.

Since the Yacht Club is on the water, you have access to Disney’s water transportation . These boats are a fun and relaxing option, particularly if you have the time just to enjoy the ride.

There are several stops along the boardwalk ring, making it easy to cross the lake if you don’t want to walk. This boat will take you on to Epcot as well, but again walking is the most direct route. You can also take a water taxi over to the Swan and Dolphin then to Hollywood Studios. This transportation option does move at a more leisurely pace, so if you’re in a hurry you might want to choose something else. Otherwise, skip the bus and board a boat!

Yacht Club guests have easy access to the newest travel method, the Disney Skyliners . A Disney Skyliner station is right at the International Gateway to Epcot, which is the back entrance of the park. Scooch on over from the resort and you’ll be off through the air! This is a great way to get to Hollywood Studios or to the other resorts on the line – Riviera Resort and Caribbean Beach.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is part of the Epcot Resort area. When getting off of Florida’s I-4, you’ll want to exit on to Epcot Center Drive before turning on to East Buena Vista Drive. The resort will be on the right, past the BoardWalk resort. Make sure you don’t turn into the Beach Club by mistake!

While you can trust your GPS to take you there, it might be worth looking at the map ahead of time. Occasionally, the GPS will take you to the incorrect entrance.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Review (Is it worth it?)

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is one of the most beautiful and convenient hotels in all of Walt Disney World. With its classy design, enormous pool, and prime location, it’s easy to see why the Yacht Club at Disney World is such a highly sought after place to stay.

My family and I have visited numerous hotels on Disney property, but the Yacht Club always keeps us coming back for more. We love the close proximity to Disney’s Boardwalk, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.

The multiple transportation options are a huge plus, especially for those who don’t like to solely rely on Disney buses. And of course we have to mention the Yacht Club’s pool, Stormalong Bay. This elaborate resort swimming area is arguably the best pool at the Walt Disney World Resort!

In this post, we will cover everything you need to know about this deluxe Disney resort , including the activities, restaurants, and rooms available at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

Yacht Club Restaurants

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is full of all different types of restaurants. Since this hotel shares dining options with its sister resorts, you’ll find even more places to eat within a short walk of your room.

Furthermore, the Yacht Club is located just a short walk away from Disney’s Boardwalk , where you’ll find additional restaurants and bars.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is home to the most popular pool on Disney property. It’s such a hit that you’ll find cast members handing out wristbands at the entrance so that only hotel guests can enter.

The main pool, Stormalong Bay, features a large sand bottom swimming area that’s super shallow and great for toddlers and little kids. There’s also a lazy river that’s a fan favorite in my household.

Guests can also enjoy other large swimming areas at Stormalong Bay, including an activities section where you’ll find games like pool volleyball. Stormalong Bay offers a large waterslide as well as a smaller slide that empties into a shallow pool.

In addition to Stormalong Bay, the Yacht Club in Disney World features a “quiet” pool that is seldom busy. This is a great spot to relax or swim laps.

Rooms

My family and I love the nautical decor and ambience of the Yacht Club guest rooms. Additionally, we appreciate that the rooms offer full balconies. Disney’s Yacht Club features standard rooms and club level rooms. If you book a room with Club Level benefits, you get access to the Regatta Club. Here, you’ll find food and beverages offered at certain times throughout the day.

Guest rooms at the Yacht Club come with views of the lake, pool, garden, or hotel rooftop/parking lot. These rooms typically feature 1 king bed or 2 queens. Some of them also offer a daybed. This means that if you book a room with 2 queens plus a daybed, you can sleep a family of five!

Prices at Yacht Club

Since Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is classified as a deluxe hotel at Disney World, you’ll notice that the prices are higher than at some of the other hotels. This is because the Yacht Club offers deluxe room space, extra amenities, and a prime location.

We will explain all the significance of all of these perks in more detail below, but it’s important to note that Disney’s Yacht Club truly offers a deluxe experience. The updated guest rooms feature plenty of space, including private balconies. Plus, the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of other Disney hotels, restaurants, theme parks, and more.

Things to Do at Disney’s Yacht Club

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort sits on the same property as two sister resorts: Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Villas. These three hotels share restaurants, activities, amenities, and entertainment options with each other.

One of my family’s favorite things about the Yacht Club is that you don’t need to leave the property to have fun. So, if you’re looking for activities at Disney outside of the theme parks, the Yacht Club offers lots of great options. These are our favorite things to do at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort when enjoying a relaxing day at Disney:

See Epcot Fireworks

We recommend walking to the bridge that connects the Disney Boardwalk to the Yacht and Beach Club Resort to enjoy the nightly Epcot fireworks show. You can even grab some ice cream to enjoy during the presentation.

Take a Ride on the Skyliner

Since the Disney Skyliner sits just outside of Epcot’s International Gateway entrance, you can easily access it from the Yacht Club Resort. Just take the short (less than ten minutes) walk toward Epcot and hop on the Skyliner for free!

Book a fishing excursion on Crescent Lake for a truly unique experience while staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

Eat Ice Cream

Disney’s Yacht Club is home to one of our favorite WDW restaurants, Beaches and Cream . While reservations can be difficult to snag at this popular dining spot, you can access the walk-up window to order shakes and ice cream to-go.

Dine with Characters

Check out Cape May Cafe during breakfast/brunch when it becomes Minnie’s Beach Bash. Guests can meet Goofy, Minnie, and Donald while they dine at the breakfast buffet.

Float along the Lazy River

The Beach Club’s main pool, Stormalong Bay, offers many fun features. One of our favorite things to do at the pool is to grab (free) tubes to float along the lazy river.

Play Games in the Arcade

Lafferty Place Arcade offers lots of fun games for kids and adults to enjoy. This is a particularly great place to spend time at Disney World when it’s raining.

Ride the Friendship Boats

The Disney water taxi picks up visitors near the Yacht Club. You can ride this free boat to the Disney Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin Resorts, Epcot entrance, and Hollywood Studios entrance.

Build Sandcastles

Did you know that Stormalong Bay features a shallow, sand bottom pool and beach area? Kids love digging in the sand and splashing around in this section of the pool.

Make S’mores

Visit the nightly campfire to roast marshmallows during your visit. You can even purchase S’mores Kits for a few dollars.

Rent a Boat

Spend time on Crescent Lake on your own private pontoon boat. Guests can rent boats from the marina near the Yacht Club.

Disney’s Yacht Club offers a large fitness center for guests to use during their stay. Ship Shape Health Club is even open 24 hours a day, so you can squeeze in a workout at any time.

Stroll along the Disney Boardwalk

The Disney Boardwalk is full of amazing activities and entertainment options and is just a short walk away from the Yacht Club.

Play Volleyball

As you walk along the boardwalk in front of the Beach Club, you’ll notice a sand volleyball court. This is a great spot to pick up a game with friends or family. You can also often join a game of volleyball at Stormalong Bay Pool.

Enjoy an Evening Movie

Each evening, Disney Yacht Club guests can watch a movie under the stars. These family friendly movies are a great way to unwind after a long day.

Play Mini Golf

Stroll over to Fantasia Gardens and Miniature Golf Course where you’ll find two 18-hole courses. This fun spot is located near the Dolphin and Swan Resorts.

Swim Some Laps

If you’re looking for a quieter poolside experience to swim laps or relax, check out the leisure pool at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. You’ll also have access to the quiet pools at Beach Club and Beach Club Villas.

If you’re not into running or jogging on vacation, you can spend time strolling along the jogging paths at the Yacht Club. You’ll find lots of great spots to take pictures and may even catch some surprises along the way.

Join a Kid Friendly Party at the Pool

Each afternoon, Stormalong Bay hosts fun poolside activities like hula hoop competitions and limbo.

Play Tennis

Guests can find tennis courts near the Yacht Club’s quiet pool.

Zoom Down Waterslides

Stormalong Bay features two separate water slides for guests to enjoy. The main waterslide stretches from the pirate ship and across the Beach Club boardwalk to the main pool.

You’ll also find a smaller slide that’s perfect for toddlers and small kids at the entrance to the main water slide.

Book a Fireworks Cruise

Take in the sights and sounds of the Epcot fireworks show from your pontoon boat on Crescent Lake.

Transportation

As mentioned above, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort sits in a prime location in the center of all the magic at WDW. If you’re planning to visit one of the theme parks, you’ll be happy to know that several of them are just a super short walk or ride away.

These are our preferred ways to get from Disney’s Yacht Club to other places in Walt Disney World:

To Magic Kingdom – You can access the Disney buses in front of the hotel. The ride to Magic Kingdom should take 15-20 minutes.
To Epcot – Exit the back of Yacht Club (toward Crescent Lake) and turn left. Epcot sits just under a ten minute walk away!
To Hollywood Studios – You have several options for getting to Hollywood Studios. We find the quickest option *usually* is walking. Hollywood Studios sits just a 15 minute walk away from the Yacht Club. You can also ride a Friendship Boat to Hollywood Studios. However, by the time you wait on the boat to make stops, this method can take longer than walking. You could also walk toward Epcot to catch the Disney Skyliner. With this method, you should be able to reach Hollywood Studios in around 25 minutes.
To Animal Kingdom – You can hop on one of the Disney buses to get to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This is roughly a ten-minute ride.
To Disney’s Boardwalk – You can make the five-minute walk around Crescent Lake to easily reach the Disney Boardwalk. Guests can also take the Friendship Boat from the Yacht Club lighthouse and ride across the lake to the Boardwalk.
To Disney Springs – You can take a bus to Disney Springs, which typically takes 15-20 minutes.

Is Disney’s Yacht Club Worth It?

Since Disney’s Yacht Club may be my personal favorite resort in all of WDW , I would definitely say it’s worth the cost! I love the classy guest rooms and bathrooms with their nautical decor.

The lobby seems to be quieter and calmer than that at other resorts, and the cast members are super friendly and helpful. My family and I enjoy the food at all the restaurants on site, and we appreciate the ability to easily walk from the Yacht Club to the Beach Club’s dining options.

The close proximity to Epcot makes the Yacht Club an ideal place to stay since there’s no rush to get to the park in the morning or back “home” at the end of a long day. Plus, you enter and exit through the International Gateway entrance to Epcot (near World Showcase), so the lines to enter are basically nonexistent.

Additionally, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is just a short walk, boat ride, or Skyliner ride away. And if you feel like venturing out, you can take the scenic stroll around Crescent Lake to the Disney Boardwalk.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, waterside resort that’s just a short walk from the magic of the Walt Disney World theme parks, the nautical New England-style Yacht Club might be the resort for you. Here are eight of our pro tips to help you get the most out of your stay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

8. You can walk to the theme parks.

Okay, so this is a big one. While some deluxe Walt Disney World resorts like the Polynesian and Contemporary have become known as “monorail resorts” because they’re just a quick monorail ride to the gates of the Magic Kingdom or Epcot, the Yacht Club is located just a short walk (or boat ride) between you and all the fun. If you and your kiddos love Epcot (or Hollywood Studios!) then the Yacht Club might just be the perfect resort for your family. The resort is within a 10-minute walk or quick boat ride to Epcot, or you can also take a leisurely 20-minute stroll or catch a boat over to Hollywood Studios.

7. You can sail your own ship.

Along with recreational activities like volleyball and tennis, a stay at the lakeside Yacht Club means that you’ll have easy access to watercraft rentals. You can become the captain of your own ship when you rent a motorized boat from Bayside Marina, from private mini-powerboats for an intimate evening for two to Sun Tracker pontoon boats for special group outings.

6. Take a pirate adventure.

Speaking of sailing, parents of young buccaneers can arrange a once-in-a-lifetime nautical experience during their stay at the Yacht Club. There are kids-only Pirate Adventure Cruises that sail from the Yacht Club to exotic “ports of call,” and all while kids get to learn pirate legends, discover hidden treasure, and gather pirate booty to take home. Targeted towards children ages 4 to 12, there are four two-hour cruises available to allow kids the opportunity to ride on a seasoned vessel in the pursuit of treasure.

5. Spend some time at the Yacht Club’s sister resort.

The Yacht Club is closely connected to its sister resort—the Beach Club resort—which means that guests are welcome to take advantage of all of the shared amenities between the two resorts. 4. Take time to appreciate the architecture.

Many of the resorts on Walt Disney Resort have fascinating stories, and while the yacht Club’s opulent nautical theme is beautiful, you may want to read up on its rich architectural history before you go. Designed by architect Robert A.M. Stern, the resort was envisioned to look like a turn-of-the-century seaside town in the Mid-Atlantic or New England (think Cape May and Coney Island). Stern wanted it to feel like a “village across the water”— a tranquil, relaxing getaway right outside the excitement of the Walt Disney World theme parks.

3. Play some sports.

Okay, so walking the theme parks can be exhausting, but if you’re planning a day to explore the resort during your vacation, be sure to take advantage of all of the active, outdoorsy recreational offerings. At the Yacht Club resort, guests can play volleyball or tennis, compete in 18 holes on the miniature golf course next door, or take a quick run along one of several jogging trails.

2. Go for a swim (or a slide).

Families love the Yacht Club because its home to Stormalong Bay, a three-acre swimming complex that features a life-size shipwreck. The Yacht Club’s pool boasts the tallest waterslide at all of the resorts on the Walt Disney World property, and you won’t want to miss the sand that covers the bottom of the pool’s crystal clear water. Little ones can splash the day away in a kiddie pool (complete with a miniature waterslide so nobody feels left out), while adult visitors can relax in the lazy river, whirlpool spas, or on the elevated tanning deck.

If you’re celebrating a special occasion, you can book a specialty cruise to watch the evening fireworks on Crescent Lake during your stay at the Yacht Club. But for a more relaxed (and free!) experience, you can also view Epcot’s spectacular IllumiNations fireworks show—and enjoys the bright lights of the BoardWalk Resort—from a swing on the beach or from a bench on the beachfront promenade at the resort.

Next up is a bit of a hidden secret among my regular clients- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort! You can’t beat this property for close proximity to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios along with a whole host of awesome amenities!

This Deluxe EPCOT Resort property captures the formal grace of a grand New England-style Yacht Club with elegant decor and lots of nautical touches. You’ll enjoy relaxing in the plush lobby or popping next to the Yacht Club’s pastel-toned sister, Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

Located in the EPCOT Resort area, you are just a quick walk to the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT. Menu highlights include grain-fed beef that is aged in house and prepared on an oak-fired grill, 12 oz Prime New York Strip Steak with peppercorn brand sauce, truffle macaroni and cheese and for dessert the Yachtman’s Chocolate Cake.
Ale & Compass Restaurant – Drop anchor for Eastern Seaboard eats that the whole crew will love at this Table Service eatery. This seaworthy spot is a comfortable place to relax and refuel before and after a day of adventure. For breakfast we recommend the dark chocolate waffle or salted caramel-apple French toast. Lunch options include Lobster and Corn Chowder, Ale and Compass Salad, and the Bacon and Vermont Cheddar Burger. Finally, for dinner, indulge in sumptuous seafood, like sustainable catch of the day or New England seafood pot pie.
Ale & Compass Lounge – Stop by this nautical nook for lively libations and savory snacks. Choose from a variety of beers, wines and high-end liquors—as well as cocktails like the Spicy Pomegranate Margarita and the Captain’s Mai Tai.

Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar – Enjoy the view of Stormalong Bay as you’re blown away by a sea of signature cocktails, draft beers and frozen drinks like the rum-infused Piña CoLAVA.

Swimming Pools

Stormalong Bay- Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club share the be all and end all of Disney pools called Stormalong Bay. This pool area feels more like a water park with a 750,000 gallon pool offering 3 acres of aquatic fun. You can immerse yourself in this expansive sand-bottomed pool or relax in the lazy circular river. There’s even a life-size shipwreck replica and one of the highest hotel waterslides in Walt Disney World. You can also unwind atop the elevated training deck or in one of the three whirlpool spas.

Shipwreck Pool – Created especially for tiny tots, this is the perfect place for wading and waterplay. It even features a miniature waterslide.

3 Leisure Pools – Looking for something more on the tranquil side? There are three additional leisure pools on property. The locations are as follows:

Yacht Club Highlights:

Great location! The Yacht Club is walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios (which is also easily accessible by boat or Skyliner.)
Stormalong Bay! This gorgeous water complex includes a sand bottom pool, pirate slide, and lazy river.
A diner’s paradise! In addition to two theme parks, the Yacht Club is also walking distance to the Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn, and Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. Being so close to four additional deluxe resorts provides extensive dining and entertainment options.

What is the Yacht Club like?

The Yacht Club (YC) is a five-story, 630 room resort, slightly larger than its sister resort, the Beach Club (BC), located along the shore of Crescent Lake, opposite the Boardwalk Resort . Themed after seaside New England hotels of the late 1800s, the Yacht Club has a stately, nautical look and feel; hardwood floors and brass accents enhance this feeling. Guests staying at both the Yacht Club and Beach Club have the exclusive use of Stormalong Bay, a 750,000 gallon pool/mini-water park complete with water slide, sandy bottom, whirlpools, and water currents.

Why stay at the Yacht Club?

Three very important reasons: Location, Location, Location. The Yacht Club is one of the most conveniently located resorts on Disney’s property. The Yacht Club is within walking distance of Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Boardwalk, the Swan, and the Dolphin hotels. If you don’t feel like walking you can choose a short boat ride to any of these places instead.

If you like fine dining, you will be in the center of it all. Not only do the Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk all have terrific choices, you are also just minutes away from the international flavor of Epcot’s World Showcase. If you like to swim, one of the best hotel pools, Stormalong Bay, is right under your nose. There are several other recreational activities available at the Yacht Club (described below).

Transportation – How do I get there from here?

EPCOT – EPCOT can be easily reached by foot via a short 10-minute walk along the water way leading to Epcot’s International Gateway. If walking isn’t for you, there is a boat to ferry guests from all the Epcot resorts (Swan, Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club) to the International Gateway, but the walk is faster and a bit more scenic. To board the boat, simply exit the lobby on the rear side of the hotel and walk straight down to the dock – just look for the lighthouse. Be sure you’re in the Epcot line (left side facing the water), not Disney’s Hollywood Studios line (right side facing the water) line.Epcot resort guests CAN use the International Gateway entrance to Epcot even though World Showcase may not yet be open for the day. Cast members will help usher you toward Future World in Epcot. The International Gateway also offers full-service ticketing and purchasing of annual passes. The guest services window usually opens 30 minutes prior to park opening.

You can take a leisurely 15 to 20 minute one-mile stroll along the path that follows the waterway connecting the Epcot resort area with the Hollywood Studios.
Take the Friendship boat f rom the right side of the boat dock. You can meet the boat at the dock just as you would the boat for Epcot, by exiting the rear of the hotel and walking straight down to the lighthouse. Again, make sure you catch the right boat. The CMs will surely let you know which boat you’re getting on. The boat usually stops by the Swan and Dolphin and Boardwalk via the Studios. The trip takes about 20 minutes.
Take the Disney Skyliner. Walk to International Gateway and climb aboard the most Magical Flight on Earth! You will need to transfer to the Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Caribbean Beach Station.

Magic Kingdom – The Magic Kingdom can be reached by taking a bus from the front of the hotel. Another longer, but more scenic, journey is to take the monorail from Epcot’s front entrance, transfer at the TTC, and then continue to the MK. Traveling this way does take some time and some walking, but you get to see a little bit more, and it lends to resort hopping if the mood strikes. Keep in mind this route will likely taste at least an hour.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Disney’s Animal Kingdom can be reached by taking a bus from the front of the hotel.

Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, and Disney Springs – Buses take you directly from the hotel to these locations after picking up passengers from the Beach Club and Boardwalk Inn. Travel times vary to each of these locations, but many of these attractions are relatively close to the Yacht Club, so you never have to wait too long.

Note that when using the buses, they will usually stop at the Beach Club; however sometimes it will also stop at the Boardwalk, the Swan and the Dolphin resorts. The tends to happen during the middle of the day or during low crowd times.

Disney’s Boardwalk – The Boardwalk faces the Yacht and Beach Clubs on the opposite side of Crescent Lake. There are two foot bridges, one in the direction of the Swan/Dolphin hotels, and one in the direction of Epcot, allowing you to walk to this entertainment complex and hotel.
For all other locations, including Fort Wilderness , and resort hotels, buses to Disney Springs will allow you to connect with other transportation to your final destination. You can also take the monorail from the Future World side of Epcot to reach the TTC. Travel times vary widely here. You can time it just right and have a short, efficient trip, or have a trip lasting over an hour. Hope for the best! Hint: When in a hurry, it usually takes only 5 minutes to get a taxi. Go to the valet station at the front of the Yacht Club and they will call a taxi for you. Trips to destinations on property range in cost from $16 to $24. For example, the typical taxi fare from the Yacht Club to the Grand Floridian costs about $20 (not including tip). It’s usually significantly cheaper to take a Rideshare such as an Uber or Lyft from the front of the Yacht Club to anywhere on property.

What are the rooms like?

Most rooms feature two queen-size beds, a table and chairs, color TV w/remote, a ceiling fan, double sinks in the dressing area, and refrigerator. Some rooms have a daybed that will accommodate the maximum 5 guests allowed per room at the Yacht Club. There are also pet friendly rooms. Of the 539 regular guest rooms at the Yacht Club, 483 rooms have queen-sized beds, 56 rooms have king-sized beds, and there are 10 disabled access rooms. Most rooms have a balcony that have a table and two chairs. Standard Rooms are for all guests, including Concierge Club. Deluxe rooms are larger and are only available on the Concierge level.

The rooms at the Yacht Club have been thoughtfully stocked with many extras. Rooms have a small safe, located in the closet, in which you can store your valuables such as jewelry, airline tickets, passports, travelers’ checks, etc. For bigger items, storage facilities may be available at the front desk.

Another nice feature is having the bathtub/toilet separated from the rest of the room. The double sinks are located outside the true “bathroom.” In the vanity area, you will find a hair dryer, as well as a make-up mirror mounted on the wall.

The Yacht Club does have a Club Level and club-level/service rooms. All Club Level rooms are located on the hotel’s 5th floor, which requires your Magic Band to gain entry from the elevator. There are 71 concierge suites and 20 “true” suites in a variety of sizes. See the Concierge page for more information about the concierge level.

A room with a view, but which one?

There are three views available: The Standard view, the Garden or Woods view, and the Lagoon or pool view.

Standard view rooms overlook the garden, rooftop or parking areas around the hotel. Garden or Woods view rooms typically overlook the slightly nicer areas around the quiet pool, or even the wedding gazebo. Lagoon or pool view rooms have a direct view of Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk. Some of the Lagoon or Pool view rooms are located just above Stormalong Bay and may be a bit noisy during the day. Note also that not all Lagoon or Pool view rooms offer a direct view of the lake and the Boardwalk. Many are at right angles to the lake, making it often difficult or impossible to see the Boardwalk. If you should book a Lagoon or Pool view room, don’t be disappointed if you don’t have a direct view of the lake.

Can I Bring My Pet to Stay at the Yacht Club?

Pets may also be boarded at the Best Friends Pet Care kennel across from Port Orleans Riverside.

Are there smoking and nonsmoking rooms?

All Disney resorts and guest rooms are smoke free . There are designated outdoor smoking areas. Check the resort map or with a Cast Member for locations.

What are the prices for a room?

The Yacht Club is considered a “Deluxe” resort hotel, and its prices are among the more expensive offered at Disney. These are regular rate prices and do not include the Florida Sales Tax nor the county resort tax. Most rooms have a maximum five-person occupancy per room. Prices are per room, and there is an additional adult charge of $25 per adult per night for more than two adults in a room.

Walt Disney World Resort rates vary by season (there are nine seasons now), and also by day of the week. The holiday season is the most expensive time of the year. It runs from mid-December to early January as well as during Easter Week.

Are there any discounts?

There are many ways to save a few dollars on your accommodations at WDW. Disney offers several resort “seasons” throughout the year including a Value Season. Annual Passholders can save by visiting during annual Passholder specials. Florida residents get a break for living in the same state as the Mouse. Don’t forget holidays are the most expensive time to visit, along with most of the summer. Generally, planning your trip during the off-season can save you money right off the bat.

I hear that there are no more room key cards at Disney resort hotels. How do I get into my room?

Walt Disney World has converted their room keys and admission tickets from plastic cards to MagicBands, flexible plastic wristbands, resembling a watch or bracelet, that use Radio Frequency (RF) technology. Your MagicBand is linked to your My Disney Experience (MDE) account and acts as your Disney resort room key. Simply touch the Mickey symbol on your MagicBand to the RFID reader near your room door to gain entry. Read about using MagicBands for park admission, FastPass+ and more.

How does Check-in and Check-Out work?

Online Check-in is available through the My Disney Experience App. Look for the special Online Check-in line at the resort’s front desk.

Check-in is at 3pm. Upon arrival head to the front desk to check-in. Rooms are not guaranteed to be available until 3pm, but you can request Early Check-in when you do Online Check-in.

Check-out time is 11am . Express Check-out is available to all guests paying with a credit card, arrange for this service at check-in. A detailed hotel bill is delivered to your door by 7am. If the bill is correct you simply leave. Your Magic Band serves as a Disney souvenir. Late Check-out of noon can be requested without additional cost (very limited availability). If you need Late Check-out, request it at Check-In and as soon as possible the morning of check out (the number of eligible rooms are limited).

Resort Airline Check-In Service at your Disney resort is only available if you are flying domestically (includes Puerto Rico) on specific airlines It is a complimentary (free) service and allows you to check your luggage.

Restaurants?

If you’re looking for good food while staying at the Yacht Club there is plenty to choose fom! The Yacht Club has two very good full service restaurants of its own, and a brief walk along Stormalong Bay will take you to the restaurants of the Beach Club. Additionally, room service is available 24 hours a day.

Ale & Compass — Serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a casual nautical atmosphere. Order a la carte morning meals from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., or there is an all-you care-to-enjoy breakfast buffet from 7:30a.m. to 11:25a.m. Lunch is served from 11:30am to 2pm, and dinner is available from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tables are almost always available during the day, but an Advance Reservation is recommended if possible.

Attached to the Ale & Compass Restaurant is the Ale & Compass Lounge. This is a full service cocktail lounge with specialty drinks and light bites.

Yachtsman Steakhouse – – This is the Yacht Club’s premier restaurant, serving tasty cuts of superbly aged beef, as well as poultry and seafood selections. An Advance Reservation is highly recommended for dinner. They are sometimes able to accommodate early (5:30-7:00) and late (9:00-9:45) walk up arrivals. A party of two is more likely to be seated more quickly than a party of six or more. Although this rule normally applies even to the busiest of seasons, there are no guarantees. Note that for this and other Signature Dining experiences, there is a dress code. Men should wear khakis, slacks, jeans or dress shorts and collared shirts. Women may wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses, jeans or dress shorts. No tank tops, swimsuits, cover ups, hats (for men), cut-offs, torn clothing or t-shirts with offensive language/graphics are allowed.

The Crew’s Cup , located near the Yachtsman Steakhouse, serves a multitude of beers, along with your favorite drinks and wines. Appetizers and finger foods are also available here, making the Crew’s Cup a nice place for lunch or a light evening meal.

For a Quick Service Meal, head to the Market at Ale & Compass . They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and offer a variety of made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and soups. The Market also has a selection of to-go options such as baked goods and pre-packaged sandwiches for a meal on the run!

Don’t forget right next door in the Beach Club is the Cape May Buffet , where you’ll find Goofy and friends for a breakfast buffet or a clambake dinner served family-style (buffet).Reservations are highly recommended.

Martha’s Vineyard is a lounge located at the Beach Club, that also serves appetizers, and is open in the evenings.

Also, shared between the YC and BC are two other dining locales, Beaches and Cream Soda Shop and Hurricane Hanna’s Grill.

Beaches & Cream is open for lunch and dinner, and serves wonderful shakes and malts along with burgers and ice cream selections. Reservations are highly recommended!
Hurricane Hanna’s is located poolside at Stormalong Bay and specializes in great, quick eats such as hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, and more.

What are Rapid Fill Mugs?

The Rapid Fill beverage program allows Disney Resort guests to buy (or receive as part of the Disney Dining Plan) a resort mug that can be refilled for a certain period of time as designated at time of purchase. These mugs are enhanced by an RFID bar code that enables the mug to deactivate when the designated time is complete.

I want to swim!

The Yacht Club has one of the best, if not the best swimming pools (at a hotel) in all of Walt Disney World. Stormalong Bay is a three-acre water playground shared between the Yacht Club and the Beach Club. It’s a great place to have fun or just relax. Stormalong Bay has many different sections that encompass its 750,000 gallons of water. There are shallow wading areas for the younger ones, complete with sand bottoms. There are also larger and deeper areas, some with sand, some without.

A “shipwreck” on the shore of Crescent Lake provides the entrance to an exciting water slide for the adventurous folks. There is a circular area in Stormalong Bay with water jets that create a current. All you have to do is float. the water will move you along! All around Stormalong Bay are lounge chairs where you can relax and catch some rays. Among other things, you’ll find a waterfall and a couple of hot tubs hidden amongst the scenery. Note, however, that life jackets cannot be worn when using the water slide. The water slide includes an enclosed tube and a child with a life jacket can get stuck. If your child requires the use of a life jacket, you can request to use the pool and slide at the Boardwalk Inn.

There is a quiet pool at the Yacht Club, found on the far end of the hotel away from the noise and excitement. The pool is located on the front/side of the hotel farthest from the Beach Club and closest to the Swan/Dolphin. There is also a hot tub in the same area as the quiet pool. These facilities are open 24 hours, as long as you are quiet! You can also use the quiet pool/hot tub on the Beach Club side of things. This pool is located on the back side of the Beach Club, closest to Epcot. You may see this area if you walk the path to Epcot. There is a third pool (and hot tub) located at the Beach Club Villas; guests of the Yacht Club are welcome to use it as well.

What other recreation is available at the Yacht Club?

Be sure to request the Recreational Activities flyer . There may be activities like Water Volleyball, Campfire Sing-along, or Movie Under the Stars.

If swimming isn’t for you, there are plenty of other activities available at the Yacht Club. Tennis is available on a lit court located by the Admiral Pool. Areas for volleyball and croquet are available on the Beach Club end of the twin hotel complex. Equipment is available free of charge from the Ship Shape Health Club.

Ship Shape Health Club is located between the Beach and Yacht Club resorts next to Lafferty Place Arcade is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Membership is free to Yacht Club resort guests for the length of their stay. Disney Vacation Club members may use the facilities free if they are staying at a Disney resort. Guests from other Disney resorts can use the facilities for $12/day, based on availability. Equipment includes Hammer Strength, Life Fitness, Cybex and aerobic machines, as well as a spa, steam room, sauna and massage therapy. Massages and facials are available by appointment only. Jogging – Jogging route maps are available from Lobby Concierge (Guest Services) or from the Ship Shape Health Club.

Volleyball -A sand court is located on the Beach Club side of the complex. Equipment use is complimentary for BC/YC guests and is available from the Ship Shape Health Club.

Tennis – A lit court is located by the Admiral Pool, with complimentary tennis balls and racquets available from the Ship Shape Health Club.

Lafferty Place Arcade is located next to the Beaches and Cream Soda Shop.

Playground – Open 24 hours, it is located near Stormalong Bay.

Bayside Marina is located in a small building to the right of the pier (facing the lake) and services guests from both the Yacht Club and Beach Club daily from 11am to 5pm. Fantasia Gardens – is located across from the Swan/Dolphin hotels. Here you can enjoy mini-golf at its best… Disney style.

I need to shop! OR — I forgot to pack something real important!

The Yacht Club’s all-purpose store is The Market at Ale and Compass. This store offers a small but comprehensive collection of clothing, character merchandise, and sundries.

Need your clothes cleaned?

If you need to wash your clothes during your stay at the Yacht Club, laundry facilities are located adjacent to the quiet pool area located on the far front side of the hotel, closer to the Swan/Dolphin hotels. Likewise there are laundry facilities at the quiet pool of the Beach Club.

If you need something dry cleaned or pressed, you’ll find a card detailing services and costs in your room upon check-in. An iron and ironing board are located in most guest rooms. If your room does not have these items, they can be obtained free of charge by contacting housekeeping.

Does the Yacht Club have a Convention Center?

Yes, the Yacht and Beach Clubs share a convention center that has 73,000 square feet of meeting and function space, that can accommodate both large and small events.

How do I use valet parking?

Simply drive your vehicle to the front of the resort and a Cast Member will park it for you. Valet parking is $33 per car for the day, even if you are staying at the Yacht Club. Don’t forget to tip the valet (both the one who takes your car and the one who brings it back to you – $1-2 is recommended) When you need to retrieve your vehicle, simply give the valet your slip of paper you were given when the car was parked, and your car will be delivered to the front of the hotel. When you are ready to get your car, call the valet stand from your room and ask for your car to be brought around. If you pay for valet at one Disney resort hotel, you can use valet at the other hotels – just tell them you are paying at the Yacht Club. The Disney resorts contract out valet services, so you are dealing with a 3rd party, not Disney employed cast members.

Does the Yacht Club have a Security Gate?

Yes, the Yacht Club complex has a guarded security gate. Upon initial arrival, simply explain to the guard you are checking in. Once you have checked in, your Magic Band will also serve to open the security gates (pull on the right side to activate the guest gate). Be sure to have your Magic Band ready when reentering through the security gate. During busy times ONLY Yacht Club resort guests may be allowed to enter the parking area.

Tips and Tricks: What else you should know about the Yacht Club:

Need a new ‘do, or just a haircut? Ship Shape Spa and Salon is located between the YC and BC, next to the health club, is the place to go. It is open 9 a.m.-7 p.m., daily. Services offered include: hair and nail services, massages and facials. Appointments are strongly recommended, call (407) WDW-SPAS or (407) 939-7727 to book.

Are you a couple on a romantic getaway? Ask for a room overlooking the wedding gazebo (a garden view room). If you’re lucky, from your balcony you’ll be able to hear and see a magical Disney wedding take place. Quite a romantic/reminiscent experience.

Plunk a few quarters in the slots at Lafferty Place Arcade where you’ll find a selection of exciting video games.

Parking – – there is a lot where you park your car. It’s a long walk from your room to the car, unless you want to pay for valet parking.

Transportation is a breeze at this resort. While buses are available for guests to venture to theme parks, water parks and Disney Springs, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is also walking distance or a short boat ride to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

planDisney Tip : Don’t forget Disney Skyliner can also be accessed at EPCOT International Gateway nearby, giving guests even more choices for transportation near this resort.

A variety of room types await guests at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Rooms with standard, water, garden, and wood views are available and can sleep up to five adults. Suites and Club Level access are also available and can sleep up to six adults while the Turret Suite can accommodate up to eight adults.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Review

Yacht Club Resort is a luxury hotel at Walt Disney World within walking and boat distance of Epcot and Hollywood Studios. This Deluxe Resort review features reimagined room photos, pool info, restaurant details, transportation benefits, other amenities, and pros & cons of these accommodations. ( Updated August 21, 2020 .)

During Walt Disney World’s phased reopening, Yacht Club Resort will be the first Crescent Lake area hotel to reopen. In fact, it’s nearby counterparts–Beach Club and BoardWalk Inn–don’t even have reopening dates set and may not reopen until sometime in 2021. (However, the Disney Vacation Club wings of each are already operating.)

After being one of the host resorts for the NBA’s bubble site, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will reopen on August 24, 2020. When it does, some restaurants (including two favorites, Yachtsman Steakhouse and Crew’s Cup Lounge) will not reopen right away. Fortunately, most of the hotel will be operational, including Ale & Compass Restaurant and the Stormalong Bay pool complex. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is themed to a New England yachting club. It’s an elegant and refined hotel contrasting with its more airy and lighthearted sister resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort. The relationship between Yacht and Beach Club Resorts is an interesting one. They share facilities and are located next to one another, and are basically one giant resort complex.

However, despite their numerous similarities and shared features, Yacht & Beach Club are technically separate hotels. On the outside, the main noticeable differences for most guests will simply be color choices: Beach Club is light blue and Yacht Club is grey. It’s also abundantly clear when stepping into each lobby.

Yacht Club feels stately. With deep, masculine woods, dark colors, leather furniture, and an antique-looking globe, it reminds you of someplace that you’d imagine senators and titans of industry might have puffed on cigars and made power plays in the early 1900s.

By contrast, Beach Club is geared towards party-people who shout “I’M ON A BOAT!” from the bow of a ship . Okay, maybe not to those extremes, but the idea is that Yacht Club feels a bit more stuffy and refined in terms of theming, whereas Beach Club feels more relaxed and lighthearted.

Most people informally lump them together as one resort: Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club and overlook the thematic differences. We think this is a mistake. As we discuss in our Yacht Club v. Beach Club comparison, the differences in atmosphere are fairly pronounced, and this is likely driven in part by Yacht Club being one of Walt Disney World’s main convention hotels.

These new rooms have been really divisive with Walt Disney World fans. Unpopular opinion, but we are big fans of the new look. Many fans have complained that they look drab and boring, but these are pretty consistent with the common areas of Yacht Club and there are a ton of subtle details and thematic touches.

We can understand why some people don’t like the new rooms given the colors now versus the patriotic color explosion of the old rooms (the old style was more cheery and lighthearted, but also off kilter with the resort’s otherwise stately appearance). The new Yacht Club rooms use of navy blue and beige contrasted against white, is really sharp in the context.

Beyond that, there’s an extensive use of dark woods, which really give the room an air of sophistication. It reminded me of the interior of a Brooks Brothers, oddly enough.

There’s also a variety of textures, the extent of which might be tough to ascertain from the photos. Our New Yacht Club Rooms Photo Tour shares more thoughts and images of the new rooms (including a different room style with a couch).

Much like BoardWalk Inn, Yacht Club is also great for the dashes of Disney presented in a restrained manner. The only Disney characters in the entire room appear in star constellations hidden on the curtain.

There are numerous other thematic flourishes reinforcing the nautical style, but many people want something overtly Disney in their hotel room. If that’s what you’re looking for, Yacht Club is not the resort for you.

The restrooms are divided, with double sinks outside of the shower and toilet area. Pretty standard–no complaints or praise here.

In terms of amenities, there is a nice benefit in their proximity of the Crescent Lake resorts to one another: better and more amenities as a result of sharing.

Between the Yacht Club and Beach Club, there are some seriously excellent dining options, including Beaches & Cream , Cape May Cafe , and Yachtsman Steakhouse , putting them, collectively, right up there with the best of the Deluxes in terms of quality restaurants.

We’ve also slowly become big fans of Ale & Compass Restaurant, which is a newer addition to Yacht Club. This is home to the Best Value Breakfast at Walt Disney World , and we highly recommend it.

Add to that the nearby Swan & Dolphin Resorts and Disney’s Boardwalk Inn , none of which technically share amenities but are so close that they might as well, and you have more high-quality restaurants within walking distance when staying at any of these resorts than at any other Walt Disney World hotel.

If dining is going to be a highlight of a trip, staying at one of the Crescent Lake resorts is the best option as there are numerous excellent dining options all within walking distance. This is especially true during Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival, when you can graze and drink in World Showcase and then stumble back to your hotel!

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort has a ton of amenities, but it’s biggest selling point is Stormalong Bay. This is the crème de la crème of Walt Disney World pools. For those unfamiliar with Stormalong Bay, it is a sprawling 3 acre pool complex with sand at the bottom. That’s right, it’s a hotel pool with sand at the bottom!

Not only that, but it also has a lazy river, an excellent ‘shipwrecked’ water slide, tons of places for lounging, and an excellent poolside bar. While many Walt Disney World resort hotels now no longer allow “pool hopping,” this was the first that introduced the concept, and the pool that most vigorously enforces the no-hopping rule. The excellence of this pool really cannot be understated. It’s basically a mini water park. The close proximity to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (we consider both walking distance, but most guests opt to take a boat to Disney’s Hollywood Studios instead of the 15 minute walking path–even if the path is usually faster) is another huge benefit. Boat service is also available to both parks, and it’s a certifiable fact that boat transportation at Walt Disney World is awesome.

Additionally, there’s now a Skyliner station at Epcot’s International Gateway, which means guests staying at Yacht Club can walk there and take the gondolas to Hollywood Studios, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, Art of Animation, and Riviera Resorts. That can be useful in opening up other dining options. (Plus, the Skyliner is just plain fun.)

On the other hand, bus transportation is decidedly un-fun. Getting to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom via bus can be a hassle. There’s always some sort of shared bus service operating, but exactly how many buses share the service depends upon the season.

When you consider the prices guests are paying to stay at a Walt Disney World resort hotel with “Deluxe” accommodations, it’s ridiculous that the buses make stops at multiple resorts. It’s frustrating that Pop Century, a budget hotel, has dedicated and efficient bus service but it can take an hour to get to Magic Kingdom via buses from the pricey Epcot-area resorts. (Although makes us happy when we pay the comparative bargain price to stay at Pop Century!)

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort offers other amenities, including a health club, volleyball court, arcade, marina, business center, babysitting, tennis courts, and other recreational facilities, but none of these measure up to Stormalong Bay. This pool complex is the ultimate trump card that makes Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts stand out from the other Deluxes.

All of this comes at a cost, as rates at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort start at around $400 per night and go up from there depending upon the season and room category. This puts it among Walt Disney World’s most expensive hotels, but still not as expensive as the Magic Kingdom area hotels. While we love the Yacht Club, we would not stay here without a 30% off room-only Walt Disney World resort discount or the Free Disney Dining Plan promotion .

Overall, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is a solid option for a Deluxe Resort stay at Walt Disney World. The pool is great, the restaurants are solid, and location is great for visiting Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Yacht Club is especially appealing if you’re a New Englander from Nantucket who wears an ascot aboard your vessels.

Joking aside, Yacht Club’s theme is a bit more taste-specific and adult. Those considering Yacht Club are probably also considering Beach Club. For us, the overall ambiance and laid back vibe of Beach Club screams “vacation” in a way that Yacht Club just doesn’t, and this ambiance appeals to us. Still, both resorts are great options–two of our favorites at Walt Disney World–and whether you should choose Beach Club or Yacht Club if considering the two should really only be a question of whether you prefer the elegant nautical look or the relaxed beach look.

They lost our car key. This place is a disaster if incompetence. They don’t care about anyone.

Completely disagree on Yacht Club being at all stuffy! We usually stay at Beach Club but booked Yacht Club with our three kids, 18, 16, 9, in April and FELL IN LOVE!! The staff was excellent, rooms simple & clean, lobby beautiful and airy, convenient shop-not a snobby, stuffy vibe to be felt. Last time we stayed at BC the room (Club level) was dated, felt small and had peeling paint on the wall! We alway stay in walking distance to Epcot because of the food and later hours. Yacht Club is our new favorite. The entire experience was like a dream. Also, we did the masks in 90 degree weather and were surprisingly unbothered. Every staff member we interacted with was wonderful. And we are Northern MI folk. I can assure you, none of us own yachts or ascots

^ wes’ comment about starving to death is 100% accurate. the resort has over complicated everything “because of covid.” you can’t just walk in anywhere, the staff is rude and condescending. we are staying in a villa paying out the ass and they won’t even change our sheets? hello? how do the other hotels manage? don’t get me started on the self righteous mask police here. if you are outside alone not surrounded by anyone for WAY over 6 ft you MUST wear a mask, in the 90% humidity and 90 degree weather. but as soon as you step foot in the pool no masks required. covid knows when and when not to be contagious. also you can sit INSIDE surrounded by people without a mask. but not outside guys. such a joke. the staff here all give you different answers as well. would never stay here, would rather stay at a motel 6. we are speechless at how rudely everyone has treated us.

forgot to mention last night we called the front desk for water. we waited an hour and called to follow up on the water and were told they only have two bottles and we would have to come get them ourselves. for a 20k villa we expected much more, this is below what i would expect from a hole in the wall hotel.

on a positive note the best thing about this resort is the ferry transportation to and from the parks, the location and the actual room is great. that’s literally all i can come up with it. really bad customer service.

I have lost 10 pounds since we’ve been here. You will starve to death. I am considering flying home two days early. About 65% of the staff have been great, but the others act like they are miserable. This is the furthest thing from hospitality you could imagine. I have been to jail before and it wasn’t this bad. If you want to lose weight quick and want to feel like a second-class citizen, stay here.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is a Deluxe Disney resort, located within easy walking distance of Epcot’s International Gateway entrance and of the BoardWalk’s entertainment and dining venues. The Yacht Club Resort is elegant, with nautical theming reminiscent of the Nantucket in the 1880s. For a fun and more relaxing way to spend a day during your visit to Walt Disney World, each resort hosts Poolside Activities each day from 1:30 – 7:00 p.m.. Pool hours and lifeguard availability vary by pool. Activities and programs are subject to change. Although the activities vary by day and by resort, examples of what you might find include trivia, arts and crafts, dance parties, games, bingo, and more.

The Market at Ale & Compass stocks Disney character apparel and souvenirs as well as Yacht Club logo merchandise and general sundries. Beach Club Marketplace at the Beach Club is another shopping option, and the BoardWalk has numerous shopping venues.

Transportation Times Between Yacht Club Resort and Disney Destinations

Disney’s bus service is available to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Magic Kingdom, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as well as Disney Springs and the Disney water parks. Water launch transportation is available to the Epcot International Gateway entrance, to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and to the BoardWalk. The Beach Club, Boardwalk, and Epcot’s International Gateway entrance are within walking distance.

The bus stop is located to the left of the main lobby, as you exit the front of the building. Also, the water launch stop is on the dock as you exit the main lobby toward Crescent Lake.

These times are approximate and provided to give you an idea of average travel times. Please plan on up to a 20-minute wait for Disney transportation in addition to walking time to resort or theme park transportation stops.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Childcare

While not an on-site child care facility, however, Kid’s Nite Out, in-room child care, is available at all resorts for children 6 months to 12 years old. Reservations may begin as early as 6:30 a.m. and/or may begin as late as 11:00 p.m., Services are available 24/7.

The Walt Disney World Dolphin will still offer a Children’s Activity Center option and you do not have to be a guest at that resort to use the Children’s Activity Center. Camp Dolphin

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort VIP Top Tips

While room requests are not guaranteed , at the Yacht Club ask to be closest to the lobby to limit the amount of walking needed to the pool area and transportation to the Theme Parks.

The Yacht Club has a beautiful wedding gazebo in its gardens. From the balconies of some of the Garden View and Water View rooms, you can overlook this area and glimpse a Disney wedding.

At Disney’s Yacht Club Resort , all rooms have a full balcony or patio.

Enjoy the close proximity to Epcot’s World Showcase . While there is a boat launch available at Epcot, you can get there faster by walking.

You can access Disney’s Hollywood Studios by boat. You may also enjoy a brisk walk around the BoardWalk down to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In general, you may find the boat ride shorter than walking to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

These resorts offer one of the best pools on Walt Disney World property. While separate, the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts share the pool area. There is a “shipwreck” that offers the entry point to the main water slide. Some areas of the pool have a sandy bottom.

These resort hotels are located near the BoardWalk, offering a short walk to additional restaurants and nightlife that do not require park admission.

Sometimes Disney’s bus transportation may share buses with the other resort hotels in the Epcot area around the BoardWalk. If you find yourself stopping at multiple stops, you may want to get off at the first stop and just walk the rest of the way. This is sometimes quicker than stopping at each resort hotel if the bus loop is being shared with multiple resorts.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is an excellent choice if you want to stay in a luxury hotel which is close to all of the Walt Disney World parks and within easy walking distance of Epcot. The Yacht Club is located on the shores of Crescent Lake next to it’s sister resort Disney Beach Club . Both resorts have a very upscale feel and look. You are taken back to another era of the late 1800s East Coast seaside resorts.

As you would expect from the name, The Yacht Club has a strong nautical theme which is played out in all areas of the hotel.

One of the best features of both resorts is that they share the very best swimming pool of any of the Walt Disney World hotels – Stormalong Bay.

What Are the Rooms Like At The Disney Yacht Club Resort?

The Yacht Club has a total of 621 rooms. The standard rooms are an average of 380 square feet. Most have 2 Queen beds and a day bed so they can sleep up to 5 guests. There are also some rooms with King sized beds but as there are only 56 of these rooms you do have to make sure you request them at the time of booking. As with all requests Disney will do their very best but make no guarantees.

All the rooms are nicely decorated in nautical colors of navy blue and white. All of the rooms have either a balcony or a patio. As with many of the Disney World deluxe hotels there is the convenient feature that the double sinks are located outside the bathroom.

Where are the Best Rooms at The Yacht Club Resort Hotel?

Guests in standard rooms have a choice of standard, garden or water view rooms. The standard rooms have a view of either the parking lot or a roof top.

The Garden View rooms are a step up from the standard view and offer nice views over the landscaped areas, the quiet pool and the wedding gazebo.

The most sought after rooms (which are charged at a premium) are the Water View rooms. Note that this does not necessarily mean that you have a view over Crescent Lake, as some of the Water view rooms overlook Stormalong Bay. These rooms overlooking the swimming pool are obviously less desirable than those overlooking Crescent Lake. Be aware that because of the design of the hotel even if you book a Water View you still may not get a full view of Crescent Lake.

Disney Yacht Club Hotel Concierge Rooms

The Yacht Club also has 71 Club Level Concierge rooms and 20 Suites. All of these are located on the 5th level top floor of the hotel.

The Concierge Rooms are almost exactly the same as the standard rooms with a few extra perks. As always with concierge it is a very personal choice as to whether you think these perks are worth it. If you want television speakers in the bathroom, robes and nightly turndown service then concierge rooms offer these.

Of course you also have access to the 5th floor Concierge Lounge with complimentary snacks and beverages. The Concierge staff are very knowledgeable and can help you with making reservations for dining and recreation, and of course answer any questions for you about how to make your Disney stay more magical.

The 20 Suites are also on the 5th floor Concierge Level of the hotel. If your budget will stretch that far then choose from a selection of luxury suites including The Turret Suite, The Commodore Suite or even the most luxurious Captain’s Deck Suite.

Disney Yacht Club Restaurants

If you stay in any of the Epcot hotel resorts you are within very easy reach of many of Disney World’s best restaurants. The Boardwalk and Epcot World Showcase are within walking distance.

The Yacht Club also has it’s own excellent dining options. The Yachtsman Steakhouse is open for dinner and has a great menu of traditional steakhouse food. This is a very popular restaurant and Advance Dining Reservations are recommended.

If you are looking for something a little more casual then opt for breakfast, lunch or dinner at Captain’s Grille . Here you will find the usual favorites for breakfast. The lunch and dinner menus have a good choice of American classic dishes with a particular emphasis on seafood.

There are also 2 lounges in the Yacht Club. The Ale and Compass Lounge, and The Crew’s Cup are great places to sit and relax. If you want some of the best ice creams in Disney World then try Beaches and Cream .

Recreation at Disney’s Yacht Club Hotel

One of the major attractions of the hotel is Stormalong Bay swimming recreation area. This amazing resort pool is shared with The Beach Club Hotel and is widely seen as the very best swimming pool at any of the Walt Disney World resorts.

The pool is huge. Covering an area of 3 acres and with 750,000 gallons of water this is a wonderful water playground for all guests. One of the best features is the ‘lazy river’ feature where all you have to do is float around and relax. You will also find a water slide, water falls, shallow beach entry for paddling, deeper areas for swimming, and of course plenty of lounge chairs for just relaxing around the pool.

If you want something a little less noisy then there is a quiet pool with a hot tub available.

Other activities include The Ship Shape Health Club which is available to Yatch Club resort guests free of charge. An excellent place for jogging is around Crescent Lake. Boat and bicycle rentals are also available.

Another very nice feature here is that you can relax on the sandy beach in front of the Beach Club. There are loungers here and often there are very few people so you can feel as though you have your very own private beach whilst you relax and watch the world go by around Crescent Lake.

Disney Yacht Club Transportation

One of the best features of the Yacht Club is of course the location. You are within easy walking distance of Disney’s Epcot World Showcase entrance. You can also take boat transportation to both Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios. All of the Boardwalk shopping and dining venues are also just a short stroll away.

Access to the other Disney parks of Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are by bus transportation.

5 Reasons to Love Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resort!

There is nothing quite like the anticipation of going on vacation. Now more than ever, we all need something to look forward to! At Walt Disney World, the resort possibilities seem endless. And while they all have something special about them, Yacht and Beach Club Resort ranks #1 for my family!

Here’s why . . .

1. Proximity to the parks.

Disney’s Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Beach Club Villas are situated between Epcot and Hollywood Studios. From here, not only can you walk to Epcot…you walk into the back gate at the World Showcase! With littles, it’s a great way to start the day. The line for security and temperature screenings is shorter, and you’re not waiting on transportation – you’re on your own time, which is what vacation is all about. If you add a park hopper to your ticket and enjoy another park during the day, Epcot is a great way to spend the evening; and having the ability to walk makes it all the more enjoyable.
Hollywood Studios is just a boat ride away! Sail on one of the Friendship boats on Crescent Lake for a beautiful ride to HWS. If you’d rather walk, Hollywood is about .75 miles from the Beach Club Villas. Our family (8 people, including a 4 and 6 year old) averages about 15 minutes when we walk there. Some nights, we opt to take the Friendship back. Other times, the kids fall asleep in the stroller so we let it ride and just keep walking! One way is just as convenient as the other, and a huge plus to staying at these properties.

2. The pools.

Perhaps the most well-known and loved pool in all of Disney is Stormalong Bay. This 3 acre sand bottom pool features the 230 foot long Shipwreck Slide, a mini slide, 3 whirlpools, and a tanning deck. For younger kids, nothing beats the zero entry sand beach pool area, stocked with sand buckets and shovels. If you’re looking for relaxation, cabana rentals are available for full or half days.
For something a bit smaller and quieter, check out the resort leisure pools and whirlpools – Admiral Pool at the Yacht Club, and Dunes Cove Pool at the Beach Club Villas.

TIP: Towels and life jackets are available at all pools, and inner tubes are available at Stormalong Bay!

3. The food.

Table service meals can be found at Ale and Compass for breakfast, brunch, and dinner – my husband loved the New England Seafood Pot Pie. Beaches and Cream Soda Shop, home of the Kitchen Sink, is one of my favorite places to get an ice cream cone or sundae and a French Dip for lunch or dinner. Because the Boardwalk is across the lake, you can also walk to Trattoria al Forno for an amazing Italian meal that you won’t soon forget.
If you want to do something a bit quicker than a traditional sit-down meal, there are some incredible options at these two resorts. Martha’s Vineyard had the best New England clam chowder any of us ever tasted, and the loaded tots were perfection. The Ale and Compass Lounge served us arguably the best burger I’ve ever had (and I consider myself somewhat of a burger connoisseur), and the flatbread features were fantastic. Both of these restaurants were first come, first served, and even with a party of 8 we were able to be seated with minimal to no wait time.
For an even quicker meal, check out the Beach Club Marketplace for grab and go items, breakfast sandwiches, baked pasta, lunch and dinner sandwiches, and a dinner feature each evening.
If you’re up for a walk, head to the Boardwalk and check out the Boardwalk Bakery or Pizza Window.

4. The accommodations.

Disney’s Yacht Club offers standard hotel rooms that sleep up to 5 guests or a two bedroom suite which can sleep 6 guests.

Tips & tricks to know about the disney friendship boats.

There are plenty of transport options when it comes to getting around the Walt Disney World Resort. Ask every Disney Guest and they’ll probably be able to tell you their favorite way to travel between the Disney Parks and Resorts.

We’ve previously covered all of the Disney Transportation options available to Guests and have shared with you tips and tricks for the Walt Disney World Transportation System buses . Let’s do the same for the FriendShip Boats.

All About the FriendShip Boats

Ever seen the white boats with pastel-colored stripes crossing World Showcase Lagoon on your visits to EPCOT? These are the FriendShip Boats. Only found to travel across Seven Seas Lagoon, and between EPCOT’s International Gateway and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, these boats are a slow but pleasant mode of Disney transport.

Each FriendShip Boat can hold around 100 passengers, and offers both standing and seating room. The design of this Disney watercraft make them unique to others available to Disney Guests, including the water taxi across Bay Lake, the ferry boat across Seven Seas Lagoon and the Sassagoula River boats servicing Disney’s Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Port Orleans Resorts and Disney Springs. Most Guests are able to take a seat on one of the forward-facing benches inside, with a couple of spaces available at the back of each boat in the fresh-air. There is also space for wheelchairs, ECV’s and strollers at the back of the inside seating area.

In total, there are 9 FriendShip Boats that travel World Showcase Lagoon, Crescent Lake and Lake Hollywood. Their names can be found on the back of each boat, and are:

FriendShip I
FriendShip II
FriendShip III
FriendShip IV
FriendShip V
FriendShip VI
FriendShip VII
FriendShip VIII

EPCOT, EPCOT Resorts & Disney’s Hollywood Studios Route

This is the longest of the two routes taken by the FriendShip Boats. Guests can hop on at any of the following locations:

EPCOT International Gateway
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club
Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resorts
Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The stops mentioned above are the order at which the FriendShip Boats stop, when traveling from EPCOT to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For Guests traveling in the opposite direction, the stops are in order from the bottom of the list upwards. Guests traveling from one Disney Resort to another can also use this order to help them board the boat offering the most efficient route.

The FriendShip Boats begin running ever day, around 8:30 a.m. until around 60 minutes after Disney Park close, according to the hours of EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme parks. A full boat ride between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios takes around 25 minutes, and will visit all stops on the way. Whilst Guests can also use the Disney Skyliner to travel between the Disney Parks , this route requires a change of lines at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort; the FriendShip Boats however, do not require a change.

Boat Landings

The FriendShip Boat landings, servicing EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the EPCOT Resort hotels can be found at the following locations:

EPCOT International Gateway – accessed by leaving World Showcase between the United Kingdom and France Pavilions. Keep to the left as you pass through the EPCOT exit.
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn – known as Promenade Pier, this boat landing is located right in the center of the Disney BoardWalk , in front of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn lawn. Use the right side line for EPCOT and the left side line for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club – this boat landing is located right in front of Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, on the lighthouse pier. Use the left side line for EPCOT and the right side line for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resorts – find the boat landing right in the middle of the walkway between the two hotels. Use the right side line for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the left side lane for EPCOT.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios – when exiting the Disney theme park, head towards Lake Hollywood and follow the path round to the right, where you will see the covered boat landing walkway.

Tips & Tricks

Here are our tips and tricks to help you have a magical Disney experience when using the FriendShip Boats between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

catch the Boat and save yourself a walk between the Disney Parks
if you are travelling to the BoardWalk from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, catch the boat to Swan & Dolphin, then disembark and walk across the bridge to arrive at the BoardWalk faster than the boat
the FriendShip Boats offer a gorgeous way to get to a breakfast reservation at Disney’s Beach Club or Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, from Disney’s Hollywood Studios
be sure to ask the Captain or Captain’s Assistant for Transportation Cards – they’re free and a cool Disney collectible
two boats can be in dock at a boat landing at the same time, so make sure to check you are in the correct line before boarding
if you are staying at Disney’s Yacht Club or Beach Club, it’s quicker to walk to EPCOT than catch the FriendShip Boats
if you are wanting to travel between Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, it may be quicker for you to use the FriendShip Boats than walk (depending on your walking speed of course, and if you’re wanting to get the steps in!)

World Showcase Route

There are four FriendShip Boat docks around World Showcase, offering Guests two routes across World Showcase Lagoon. The routes travel between:

World Showcase Plaza (to the right towards Canada) and the Morocco Pavilion
World Showcase Plaza (to the left towards Mexico) and the Germany Pavilion

The FriendShip Boats across World Showcase Lagoon typically run between 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. each day. Guests wanting to travel from World Showcase Plaza can do so until the last boat departs around 7:15 p.m. each evening. 7:30 p.m. is the time when the last boat departs from Germany and Morroco, to allow for Harmonious preparations to take place on World Showcase Lagoon.

Here are our tips and tricks to help you have a magical Disney experience when using the FriendShip Boats across World Showcase Lagoon:

they offer unique views of World Showcase
it’s a great way to rest your feet whilst taking in stunning views
a way of staying dry if there is a rain shower over EPCOT
if you’re looking for a quick way of accessing World Showcase then you are best to walk, but if you have plenty of time, then catch the FriendShip Boat
look out for the FriendShips Boats pulling into one of the boat landings if you’re close by, to board with a minimal wait in line
this is perfect for Guests who won’t need to use the FriendShip Boats between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Safety Information

There are a couple of things to bear in mind when using the FriendShip Boats, to ensure you have a safe Disney experience:

as long as water levels are normal, wheelchair, ECV and stroller access is fine.
if water levels are low or high, it causes a step down or up to the FriendShip Boats; at this time it is recommended that wheelchairs, ECV’s and strollers do not board.
if there are high winds, wheelchairs, ECV’s and strollers aren’t able to board for safety reasons. A sign is usually displayed at the boat landing if this is the case.
similar to other modes of water transportation around the Walt Disney World Resort, the FriendShip Boat service will pause if there is lightning in the area . Boats will dock at boat landings and allow Guests to disembark if they are to stop running.

Some pretty awesome things happened with Disney World food this week.

Y’all! Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs has arrived in Disney World!!!

First, Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs at Disney’s BoardWalk FINALLY OPENED . Yes, we finally got our Pickle Dog. We’ve only waited FOREVER for this day. We also had an AMAZING meal (well, ANOTHER amazing meal) at Takumi-Tei in EPCOT . And maybe, most importantly, THE NEW STARBUCKS FALL MENU DROPPED. However, we also saw some changes with Disney World restaurant menus, and well, we’re going to tell you about them.

Resort-wide

Starbucks has changed across Disney World because the fall menu has arrived (yes, we’re excited)! So here’s what has changed at Creature Comforts in Disney’s Animal Kingdom , Trolley Car Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios , Connections Cafe at EPCOT , Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom , and Starbucks in Disney Springs:
