Dirk Boehmer

Sales director.

Dirk brings over 25 years of yacht sales and on the water experience. His first boating memories were at a young age with his family. He spent his early boating years on a 16 footer on Lake Wallenpaupack in Northeastern Pennsylvania. After high school, Dirk joined the US Coast Guard, working as a Boatswains Mate at small boat stations in Tawas MI, St. Ignace MI, Charleston SC and on a River Tender in Pittsburgh PA during his time in the Coast Guard Reserve. After earning degrees in Marketing and German for International Trade from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), he worked with various yacht manufacturers including Sea Ray and Bertram and managed US sales efforts for international manufacturers Vicem and Bavaria. He has sold yachts on every continent with the exception of Antarctica… still a goal. He also earned his MBA from the University of Tennessee and currently holds a 100 Ton Master Captain License. 

Carter Anderson

Carter's passion for boating began in his birth state of Colorado. His family spent their summers in the Rocky Mountains at Lake Dillon on a small ski boat. At the of age 10, he moved to Florida, and was fortunate to be raised on the water in Tampa Bay. Operating boats at a young age instilled his love for the lifestyle, but Carter knows that enjoying the boat is only part of ownership. He was taught to meticulously tend to his father’s boats like they were his own. Therefore, with 25 years of experience, Carter also carries the knowledge and respect of what it takes to properly maintain a boat. After earning his degree from Florida State University in 2010, he moved to south Florida, and settled in Jupiter. With over 10 years of sales experience, he became a licensed yacht broker in 2021.

Charles Giambalvo

Sales associate.

Captain Charles began boating in Long Island, New York when he was 16 years old. He and his wife, Captain Karen, lived aboard yachts for 11 years. They have also sold and implemented hundreds of private yacht charters as brokers, yacht owners and crew. Charles is a trained Electrical Engineer and did 100% of maintenance on his own yacht himself. He has taught Marine Electrical Systems, Boat Handling, Seamanship, Communications and Engine Maintenance for the U.S. Power Squadrons. His clients rely on him as a “trusted advisor” in selecting the best yacht to fit their needs, along with how to pilot and maintain it. Many of his clients benefit from Charles sharing his knowledge of entering the charter business, which further justifies their yacht purchases.

1 man left with severe burns following boat explosion in North Palm Beach

NORTH PALM BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) -A fishing captain is on the road to recovery after he was caught in an explosion on board his boat off the coast of North Palm Beach.

Fishing captain Tim Hoban was picking up items from his boat when an explosion left him with second and third degree burns on 36% of his body.

“I knew when I saw,” his wife, Ashley Hoban said, “all the fire trucks… that I just knew it was him because I knew that’s the last place he was going to be…”

Hoban is seen on video jumping out of the boat and into the water following the explosion that left him and his wife shaken.

“I thought I lost him,” said Ashley, “and he has no skin on his hands, and he had to pull himself out and it was low tide and there’s barnacles all over the dock.”

The cause of the explosion is still unknown.

Donnie Richards, the manager of the Lott Brothers, spoke on the incident. “I got on the phone with 911. I know it took the fire department hours to get that thing under control and get it out, it did not want to go out.”

Now, Hoban begins his road to recovery, and is being treated at a burn unit in Miami.

“You know his boat was his means of making a living,” said Richards, “so to have that happen and to lose everything, we really feel bad for him.”

Hoban does not have health insurance, and the Lott brothers, as well as many others, have stepped up to financially help him through his recovery.

Ashley said that she is grateful for all of the support and the people who had come to their aid.

“He has a long way to go.” Ashley said, “burns take forever, and the pain doesn’t get better.”

'I thought I lost him:' Fishing captain recovering from extensive burns after boat explosion

A fishing captain is recovering from extensive and excruciating burns after his boat exploded Aug. 24 in North Palm Beach, while he was on board.

“I knew when I saw all the fire trucks that I just knew it was him, because I knew that’s the last place he was going to be," said Ashley Hoban.

Ashley said her husband, Tim Hoban, was picking up supplies for their charter boat business at Lott Bros. when the boat exploded.

"I thought I lost him," said Ashley. "He has no skin on his hands, and he had to pull himself out and it was low tide and there’s barnacles all over the dock. He's burned all over the place and he had to get himself out and save himself."

She said her husband has second and third-degree burns to 36% of his body. He’s still being treated at a burn unit in Miami.

As for the boat, Ashley said it was their main source of income, but it's a total loss along with their supplies.

"It's just so sad because that was our baby, we used to go to the Bahamas, and got married there and had our boat," said Ashley. "During Hurricane Dorian, we did free supply runs cause our boat was so big we could put a lot in it."

Lott Bros. said Tim was a regular, and shared surveillance video exclusively with WPTV.

"It almost sounded like a car ran into the building, I got on the phone with 911," said Donnie Richards, a manager with Lott Bros. “I know it took the fire department hours to get that thing under control and get it out. I did not want to go out.”

Richards said one of his staff members threw Tim a flotation device while he was in the water.

He said the explosion could have caused much more damage as it was just feet away from a fuel line that's located on the dock.

“You know, his boat was his means of making a living so to have that happen and to lose everything, we really feel bad for him," said Richards. "We just want to see him recover as soon as possible and get back on his feet."

Lott Bros. and many others are stepping up financially to help the Tim through his recovery. A fundraising page has already received more than $25,000, which Ashley said has helped her rent an apartment in Miami so she can be close to her husband.

"I did not expect so many people to come to our aid and I felt more comforted by that so I didn't have to worry about that immediate need," said Ashley. "And that's huge because I'm trying to be strong for him."

Ashley said her husband does not have health insurance.

WPTV is still working to learn more about what triggered the explosion.

"He has a long way to go, burns take forever and the pain doesn’t get better," said Ashley.

1 man found dead, 2 still missing after boat crashes into jetty

OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) - Officials say one man was found dead and two others are missing after a boat crashed into a jetty in Connecticut.

The Coast Guard says a boat carrying nine people crashed into a jetty along the Connecticut River at high speed. The call was received around 9 p.m. Monday, WFSB reports .

A single motorboat was found, half-submerged, near the Harbor One Marina in Old Saybrook. There was significant damage to the boat.

Six people – a man and five women, whose ages range from mid-20s to 30s – were rescued. They were all taken to the hospital.

Authorities began searching for three missing men, who were reportedly not wearing life jackets.

One of the missing men was found dead during the search early Tuesday, according to officials with the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

The search for the two remaining victims, both in their 20s, has been suspended until sunrise, officials say.

Guilford’s dive team responded, along with boats, personnel and ambulances from nearby towns, working to locate and assist the missing persons.

The Coast Guard also sent a helicopter from Cape Cod to assist search efforts.
