A General Description of Motor Yacht ROMA

This sizeable luxury yacht ROMA is a motor yacht. This 62 metre (203 foot) luxury yacht was crafted by Vsy - Viareggio Superyachts in 2009. She could be described as a recent full displacement yacht. ROMA is ex (Project Duchess Of Tuscany). Superyacht ROMA is a stylish yacht that can accommodate up to 12 passengers on board and has a total of 16 professional crew. This large motor yacht has a helicopter landing facility. Finished and launched in 2009 the recent internal styling exhibits the congruous progression in the designing of Newcruise.

The new environmental regulation “Green Plus” by the classification society RINA was granted to 62 meter Roma as well as 2 other superyachts called Candscape II (63m) and Emerald Green. (41m). The vessels awarded this certificate have to make a significant investment in design solutions, on board equipment and operational procedures helping to reduce the impact of the yacht on the environment increasing their efficiency and performance. This will play an important role in bringing a reduction in the carbon emissions from the yachts’ exhaust.

New Build & Yacht Design relating to Luxury Yacht ROMA

The yacht's wider design collaboration came from Espen Oeino. The technical naval architect drawings are the products of Espen Oeino. Motor Yacht ROMA received her stylish interior designing from the interior design office of Newcruise. In 2009 she was actually launched with accolade in Viareggio and post sea trials and finishing touches was thereafter handed over to the owner. Vsy - Viareggio Superyachts completed their new build motor yacht in Italy. Her main hull was crafted from steel. The motor yacht main superstructure is made for the most part from aluminium. With a width of 10.8 metres or 35.43 ft ROMA has fairly large size. A fairly deep draught of 3m (9.84ft) limits the amount of overall marinas she can berth in, contingent on their specific depth at low tide.

The motor yacht engages twin responsive CATERPILLAR diesel engine(s) and can attain a impressive speed at 17 knots. The main engine of the yacht creates 2680 horse power (or 2000 kilowatts). Her total HP is 5360 HP and her total Kilowatts are 4000. Coupled to the ROMA engines are twin screw propellers.

62m VSY motor yacht Roma sold in one month

The 61.8-metre motor yacht Roma has been sold with Lukas Stratmann of Ocean Independence representing the seller and Edmiston representing the buyer.

The environmentally-friendly yacht is the second VSY62 hull from Viareggio Superyachts ( VSY ) and is RINA Green Yacht certified. Built in steel and aluminium and delivered in 2010, her naval architecture is by Espen Oeino and her interior is by Newcruise and Gehr.

Accommodation is provided for up to 12 guests in six staterooms including a substantial main deck master suite with panoramic 270-degree views ahead and a bridge deck VIP. Three guest cabins are also located on the main deck and a twin cabin is found on the lower deck. There are quarters for a crew of up to 18.

Highlights aboard Roma include a cinema on the main deck and an elevator that runs from the lower deck to the bridge deck.

Up on the sun deck, a large pool and an air-conditioned gymnasium, as well as a dining table, give guests a choice of treating or pampering their bodies. 

Twin 2,680hp Caterpillar engines give the 1,090GT yacht a cruising speed of 14 knots and maximum speed of 17 knots.

The broker said that Roma is "the most awarded charter yacht in MYBA history".

Roma was asking €29,900,000 and lying in Mallorca, Spain.

Founded in 2003

Timmerman Yachts is a Russian builder of quality luxury motor yachts. Based in Moscow, it is owned by a group of Dutch and Russian investors and operates out of Moscow Shipyard. Several noted naval architecture and yacht design firms are involved with Timmerman, including Vripack, Guido de Groot Design, Ginton Naval Architects, Jon Bannenberg Ltd., and Francis Design Ltd.

Founded in 2003, the company was named for 17th century Dutch boat builder Franz Timmerman who brought Dutch boat manufacturing techniques to Russia and co-founded the Russian navy. Timmerman Yachts has more than 1,000 employees working at the Moscow Shipyard.

Timmerman has delivered a number of semi-custom luxury yachts between 26-47 metres in length, including TM26 and Timmerman FD-51, designed by Francis Design Ltd. Other notable Timmerman yachts include Victoria M, Alexandra (now Latitude) and Olsten 125′.

One of the 10 largest yacht builders in the world, Timmerman is focused on building high-quality luxury yachts at more competitive prices. Its Russian-Dutch partnership provides great yacht-building capabilities. Timmerman builds yacht to the highest standards and holds DNV, MCA and Russian River Register certification. The company reportedly has more than a dozen yachts in some phase of construction.

È il sogno di ogni collezionista: aprire la porta di un vecchio magazzino e scoprire, sotto una montagna di polvere, ragnatele e rifiuti vari qualche preziosa auto del passato, magari di marchi prestigiosi. Questo è niente, però, se si valuta quanto accaduto nei mesi scorsi in California. Quello che si riteneva un deposito abbandonato di un demolitore - e i cui cancelli non erano stati aperti dagli eredi del titolare dal 2001 per lasciarne il contenuto fuori da occhi indiscreti - era invece una sorta di Fort Knox delle auto classiche, con un contenuto il cui valore potrebbe superare i 300 milioni di dollari.

I 'lingotti' più preziosi, tra quelli rinvenuti dagll specialisti di RM Sotheby's che metterà all'incanto questa incredibile collezione in ottobre, sono - oltre ad una incredibile qualità di Porsche 356 e 911 nelle più disparate condizioni - tre Lamborghini Miura, il prototipo di Bertone della Iso Grifo A3/L Spider, la preziosa Mercedes-Benz 500 K 'Caracciola' Special Coupé Sindelfingen, la rarissimo Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing in alluminio (una delle 29 prodotte), la Horch 855 Special Roadster del 1935 e una Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster del 1957 con insolite ruote a raggi.

RM Sotheby's, nel dare la notizia, racconta anche la storia che c'è a monte di questo ritrovamento. Tutto nasce nel dopoguerra, quando l'immigrato tedesco Rudolf Klein iniziò a lavorare in California come macellaio, raggiungendo rapidamente una certa prosperità economica. Grande appassionato di auto sportive, Klein fondò nel 1967 la Porsche Foreign Auto, azienda che si occupava del commercio di vetture europee e, contemporaneamente, della vendita di ricambi provenienti da vetture incidentale o cedute dalle assicurazioni.

Fu così che progressivamente nei capannoni della Porsche Foreign Auto - e nelle scaffalature a più piani all'esterno - enormi quantità di scocche 356 e 911, motori, cambi e altre parti meccaniche. Il tutto assieme ad automobili di pregio (nelle foto di RM Sotheby's s scorge una Mercedes 600 Pullman) non considerate abbastanza preziose da meritare le aree coperte. E tutto è rimasto intatto e invenduto anche dopo la morte di Klein nel 2001. "Scoprire una Mercedes 500K nascosta o una 300 Alloy Gullwing è il tipo di storia che attira l'attenzione di tutti, non solo con gli appassionati di automobili - ha affermato Cary Ahl, specialista di auto presso RM Sotheby's - Quello che Klein ha accumulato qui è unico nel suo genere e sappiamo che molte di queste auto vivranno per generazioni, alimentando nuovi progetti di restauro o conservate nel loro stato originale".
