The Yachting Club of America

MIYC is a member of The Yachting Club of America (YCA). YCA was founded in 1963 and was the first national association of yachtsmen and yacht clubs. Yacht Clubs throughout the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii and the Virgin Islands) are members. Through our membership in YCA our members have reciprocity with over 700 yacht and sailing clubs throughout the country. This is a benefit that comes to our members free of any additional member fees or dues. Our membership in YCA allows MIYC members to use the facilities of other participating clubs. Each participating club sets the privileges allowed to visitors through the reciprocal program.

Reciprocal guests that are visiting MIYC must arrive by boat.  They should contact the Club Manager in advance of their arrival to verify that they may be accommodated.  The Club Manager will request confirmation of your membership in a Yacht Club that is a member of the Yachting Club of America, such as an ID card with your Yacht Club's logo or a letter of confirmation by the Commodore of your participating Club.   Reciprocal guests are allowed to use the MIYC dock, swimming area, bath house, bathroom facilities and picnic area without charge for up to 2 hours as guests of MIYC.  After 24 hours, reciprocal visitors must be sponsored and registered as a guest by a MIYC member and become subject to MIYC Guest rules and fees. Reciprocal guests are limited to three visits per season.

For Visitors arriving by boat, please see the Guest Mooring page for more information on our guest moorings, fees and reservations.

No lifeguard is on duty, visitors swim at their own risk.

Dock space is limited and offered on a "1st come-1st serve" basis. The dinghy dock is available for small tenders.
