Will there be a guide on board to provide me with information about the destinations?

Our experienced local captains are more than happy to offer information and special insights about the unique locations, significant landmarks, wildlife, and cultural heritage of Paros and its nearby islands.

What happens in case of bad weather conditions?

How do I get to the Athenian Yachts Paros base?

To reach Athenian Yachts Paros base in Piso Livadi, you have several transportation options depending on your starting point:

• From Naousa (Main Town) : Athenian Yachts Paros base in Piso Livadi is about 12 kilometers away. You can take a public bus or hire a taxi for a convenient journey of approximately 20-30 minutes.
• From Parikia (Main Port) : If you are coming from Parikia, the distance to Piso Livadi is approximately 16 kilometers. You can use the public bus or opt for a taxi, with the travel time ranging from 25 to 35 minutes.
• From Lefkes : Lefkes is closer to Piso Livadi, with a distance of around 8 kilometers. A short drive of about 15-20 minutes by car or taxi will take you to Athenian Yachts Paros base.
• From Pounta : If you are traveling from Pounta, which is about 25 kilometers away, you can take a bus or taxi for a journey of approximately 30-40 minutes to reach Piso Livadi and the yacht base.

One of the most popular islands in   the Cyclades   ready to offer her romantic charm and poetic beauty. Paros is an authentic Cyclades island comprised of whitewashed houses, many historical sights and gorgeous beaches. For those avoiding the mass tourism of   Mykonos  but still want their fair share of bars, clubs and upscale restraunts, Paros surely will not disappoint. Paros was once famous for producing marble and was home to the finest white marble in the world. The statue of Aphrodite of Milos was built with Parian marble, as well as many other famous Greek sculptures. There is a very interesting historical sight the Ekatodapiliani Church with a rich history and wonderful architecture to explore during your visit to the island. She has a reputation for excellent seafood and cuisine and over the years has attracted some world class chefs all adding their own flair or twists to the local flavors. 3 TOP THINGS TO DO IN PAROS

The church of  Panagia Ekatodapiliani  is just a few meters away from the main port of Parikia, the capital of Paros. According to the legend, it was built by Saint Constantine, the first Emperor of Constantinople after the death of his mother Saint Helene. Ekatontapiliani (meaning hundred doors in Greek) has 99 doors and it is believed a secret door will open once the church of Hagia Sofia in Constantinople will be converted into an Orthodox church again. 

Naousa is a classy, little cosmopolitan town and one of the most beautiful locations on the island. In the evening you may take a lovely stroll through the charming alleys and finally top it all off with a exquisite cocktail in one of the most picturesque port  towns of the Cyclades . Despite the influx in tourism over the years,  the town has kept its charm, authenticity and traditional character. This area should definitely not be missed during your sailing vacation to the Cyclades.

Antiparos  is home to one of the largest and most incredible caves in Europe .  The island attracts visitors from around the world for its rich history and incredible sights. While sailing you can enjoy anchoring in the incredible waters of Despotiko Bay. We highly recommend tasting the fresh grilled fish accompanied by a glass of ouzo in one of the many port taverns overlooking the sea. It is not a coincidence many famous actors like Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, and Pierce Brosnan have all purchased homes on the island.

Beaches worth visiting

Golden beach (xrisi akti).

Xrisi Akti is an award-winning beach on the southeast side of the island. Being the largest in Paros, her golden sand and turquoise waters will amaze you. Definitely one of the best spots for windsurfing enthusiasts from around the globe due to her water sports facilities.

Santa Maria Paros

Santa Maria beach is a stunning beach 2km away from Naoussa. A long stretch of white sand and crystal clear waters, perfect for swimming and sunbathing. The beach is surrounded by some green vegetation, making it a great spot for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. It is easily accessible having a few beachside cafes and restaurants, making it a popular spot for tourists.

Punda Beach

Punda Beach is a long strech of golden sandy beach. It has a very nice texture of sand and the water is exceptionally clear. It is popular for divers, surfers and those who are sailing. It can be rather busy in the summer, however when visiting with a catamaran, you have the advantage of approaching as close as you like, or simply observing from the distance.

Village of lefkes.

This mountainous village and old capital of Paros, is located on the foot of the hillside, offering beautiful alleyways and traditional architecture. A walk through the narrow streets will embrace the senses and impress its visitors. Observe the sea and Naxos from the astonishing views the village provides from its cafes or local taverns.

Naoussa is a beautiful village on the norther part of Paros, situated between Antiparos and Naxos. It is known for its picturesque harbor and idyllic fishing village. Visitors can explore the winding cobblestoned streets, sample the local cuisine, enjoy a night out at the vibrant bars and restaurants, or relax on the golden sand beaches. 

Venetian Castle of Naousa

The Venetian Castle is located in the port of Naoussa and was built in the 15th century as a fortress to protect the inhabitants from pirates or invaders. Nowadays most of the structure has sunk to the depths of the sea, however it still offers an impressive view.

Ancient marble quarries in Marathi

Did you know that Paros produced the finest marbles of all time? The ancient quarries in Marathi are present till this day and certainly worth a visit. Keeping alive the history of the Peruvian Marble, which was once abundant here. The marble was used to sculpt the Aphrodite of Milos and Hermes of Praxiteles, while the statue of Apollo and many more were crafted from this excellent raw material.

Paros is among the most famous Greek islands of the Cyclades . Paros Island is in the heart of the Aegean Sea and is ideal for young people, romantic couples, and families. Location of Paros

The island of Paros lies in the center of the Aegean Sea in Greece. It’s a member of the Cyclades. It’s also the third most popular island in its group after Santorini and Marina Mykonos. Only a 5 km long canal divides the 165 km2 big island from Naxos. 1 km southwest of the island, there’s a smaller one called Antiparos, which is very famous for its marble host rock. The highest point of the island is the 770 m high mountain of Prophet Elias.

Can you rent a luxury yacht in Paros – do I need a license?

Small boats (under a certain horsepower or length), electric boats, crewed yacht charters , and gulet charters may not require a license. Larger boats or those with more powerful engines need a skipper’s license. Before you confirm your sailing trip to Paros, please send us a copy and we will check it for you. Monastiri is only a few kilometers from Kolimbithres is a small gulf surrounded by huge, rocky hills. This beach lies in the Gulf of Agios Ioannis. You can see the monastery on the right. Some spectacular rocks emerge on the left. This section of the coast is calm and has clean water. It’s most popular for its beauty mostly in July and August. People love coming here by yacht as well. Main sights in Paros

In addition to its beautiful Mediterranean beaches, the town has several museums and cultural treasures. The pride of place is the huge Byzantine temple of Ekatondapyliani which also contains a small Byzantine museum. The archaeological museum behind the Ekatondapyliani shows the artworks of different ancient Parian settlements. And last, but not least you should view the art from different marble mines too. Going east from the town, there’s the amazing monastery of Ágii Anárgyri, which they established in 1660. The Paros Park, as a natural, untouched rock formation, is a perfect representation of the Cycladic beauty. In summer they hold numerous events in the park and its open-air theatre.

The Greek coast has a Mediterranean climate . The air of the country is very clean and dry from spring to early autumn. There’s a lot of sunshine, while the amount of rain usually decreases from the west to the east. In summer, we almost never see any clouds in the sky. Rain is practically an unknown guest in the summer months. The sea can heat up to 23-25 °C from June to August. Even in October, it’s still 23 °C. The area of Greece is constantly windy, these winds, however, are always changing. The wind that dominates the summer months is called Meltemi . From June, it blows from the northwest and the northeast. It reaches its full strength, from 5 to 8 on the Beaufort scale, in July and August.

The sea-wind comes in late September or early October, which blows from the southeast and the southwest. It’s a specifically southern wind, that dominates mostly in spring and fall with a strength of 2 to 4. Due to Greece’s typical winds, it’s most rewarding to plan a sailing route from the south to the north in spring and autumn, and from the north to the south in summer. The waving is preferable compared to the Croatian archipelago since there’s a greater distance between the Greek islands. The current flows counterclockwise in the Eastern Mediterranean Basin, and northward along the Turkish coast. The water flows southward on the Eastern Greek coasts, but from the west side of the Peloponnese Peninsula northern current dominates.

The climate diagrams are based on 30 years of hourly weather model simulations. They give good indications of typical climate patterns and expected conditions (temperature, precipitation, sunshine, and wind). The “mean daily maximum” (solid red line) shows the maximum temperature of an average day for every month for Paros. Likewise, the “mean daily minimum” (solid blue line) shows the average minimum temperature.

The Monastery of Panagia Ekatontapiliani : Just near the port of Parikia, the Monastery of Panagia Ekatontapiliani is one of the most preserved Paleo-Christian sites in all of Greece. Believed to have been built by Saint Constantine, the first Emperor of Constantinople, in the 4th-century AD, this church pays homage to the Assumption of the Virgin; the result of a promise made to the Virgin by Saint Helene, Constantine’s mother. Having changed over the years due to Paleo-Christian, Byzantine, and post-Byzantine influences, this church is unlike any other. With a name like Ekatontapiliani, Greek for “the Church with the Hundred Doors,” this church is rumored to have 99 doors. In keeping with tradition, it is believed that a secret door will open when the church of Hagia Sofia in Constantinople becomes Orthodox again.

Parikia : Also called Paros Town or Hora, Parikia, the capital of Paros, sits on the same site where the ancient city and capital used to rule Greece. Built around the island’s port, Parikia is recognizable by its white, cubed houses and vibrant wooden doors and balconies. Near the port itself, a whitewashed windmill stands tall; a symbol of Paros. Dotted with a varied nightlife, locale taverns, and family-owned restaurants serving delicious fare, there is little Parikia doesn’t offer for every type of yacht charter guest.

Kolimbithres Beach : One of the most popular beaches in Paros, Kolimbithres can be found on the bay of Naoussa. White and blue are the anthem colors of Paros, a close neighbor to famous Mykonos and Santorini. Byzantine influences and the foamy crush of waves against beaches and seafront residences alike build a dreamy, languid holiday destination.
