About our Crew

Pisces crew is a team of professionals with years of experience on the water. With many of our captains fishing over 300 days a year saying that they know the area would be an understatement. Not only that, but most of our crews have grown up in the fleet, starting off as teenage deckhands, then progressing through the ranks; most of our team spend their whole professional fishing career at Pisces. Over the years the team have grown with the fleet, not only in size but in the way we fish and the way the resource is taken care of.  Our captains and mates are passionate about fishing, in fact there is nothing that they like to do better than be out on the water. For the past couple of decades, the mindset especially regarding billfish has changed and our crews are leaders in catch, take a picture, and release. The crew have been trained in safe fish handling techniques and are eager to share this with the guests, especially the tagging program, where anglers participate in tagging, naming their fish and tracking them on-line. We were the first fleet in Mexico to go exclusively to circle hooks for live bait fishing – proven to decrease mortality in marlin.  Crews are trained in first aid and CPR and all speak some English. What is great about fishing with Pisces is that you can develop a rapport with the crew of your choice and expect to find them on the same boat your next visit – we have anglers that have been fishing with the same crew for years and are firm friends. Our crews are more than just employees they are family and trusted partners. Captain Kevin Brown, a California native, has spent over 30 years fishing. He got his start in Islamorada, Florida on his own sportfishing charter boat. For the past 16 years, Captain Kevin has spent the tournament and big game fishing season in Cabo. He has logged over 10,000 days of charter fishing and has caught and released trophy game fish all over the world.

COVID UPDATE: Cabo San Lucas Open for Travel and Leisure

 Some Covid restrictions are still in place with things getting “closer to normal”. As of July 1st 30% of the hotels are open.  Pisces Sportfishing and Yachts are now open for business and available for charter and catching a lot of fish! Some restrictions apply due to Covid in regard to the number of passengers allowed per boat; please check with our reservation staff for details.  Now, the fact that Cabo is reopening doesn’t mean that everything will be just as it was before. The Governor has instated strict rules about the capacity allowed onboard vessels, at beaches, inside restaurants and stores, etc. Of course, we will keep you up to date with any changes and as things ease up even more.

We are working hard and following all government mandates, including these strict new protocols and procedures. All Pisces Staff have undergone extensive training and have been certified by the IMSS, COEPRIS and Proteccion Civil, as well as API and Port Captain, meeting the highest standard for health safety . We are also in the process of completing the certification for "Punto Limpio” (Clean Area) of all our Pisces group Divisions, which "Captain Tony’s" Restaurant has already been awarded. The "Punto Limpio" Certification is given by the SETUES (Ministry of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability) to those businesses that have good hygiene and sanitization practices.

Not only this but the city of Cabo San Lucas has been the first city on the Mexican Pacific to receive the “safe Travels” Seal by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) . This is another stamp of approval for hygiene and sanitary measures. The specially designed stamp will allow travelers to recognize governments and companies around the world which have adopted health and hygiene global standardized protocols – so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’.

Baja California Sur Governor Carlos Mendoza Davis said “it is an honor to include our state in the list of destinations with the [travel seal]. We strongly support protocols for the health care of travelers, it is our main commitment.” The governor concluded, “BCS has a responsible tourist activity, those who visit us can have the peace of mind that they will be as cared for as in their homes.”

And more exciting news for Cabo locals and travelers: Airlines are beginning to open up more flights to Cabo, including the emblematic "Eastern Airlines", which returns to the heavens after 29 years of landing its last flight. In January of this year she announced her return to the air and chose Los Cabos as her first connection in Mexico.

The Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA) announced that the closure of the destination for 3 months did not affect the decision of Eastern Airlines to choose Los Cabos to be the first destination in all of Mexico to visit. It will be with a direct flight from New York when the airline arrives for the first time to Los Cabos, this next July 4, during the celebration of the United States' Independence Day (USA). The frequency is not yet defined. It is worth mentioning that, if there are no changes, the border between Mexico and the United States (US) will be reopened on Monday, June 22, which undoubtedly meant an increase in arrivals on US flights.

Not everyone wants to go fishing, but just about everyone wants to get a view of Los Cabos from the water. That's why we also offer pleasure cruises for sunset cocktails, sightseeing and even snorkeling. Private boat cruises for groups of up to 8 people are available with advance booking and include a visit to Los Arcos and points along the coast on both the Sea of Cortez and Pacific ocean – scenery that has made Cabo San Lucas world famous for its rugged beauty. Whale watching tours are available in season, too! Boat tours are a minimum two hours but you can extend your trip as long as you like. Catch & Release | Mount it | Eat & Freeze

You can mount your catch or fillet and freeze it to take home. For billfish we recommend to our anglers  “catch and release” method , you can also mount them, for others species you can eat and/or freeze them  to carry home.

Everyone on board over the age of 13, does require a fishing license. You can buy at the time you are booking or at your arrival.
