Praha - Český ministr zahraničí Jan Lipavský poděkoval Jižní Koreji za podporu Ukrajiny, která se brání ruské ozbrojené agresi. Přístup země by měl být příkladem pro její sousedy i další státy v regionu, uvedl šéf české diplomacie v komentáři v deníku The Korea Times. Lipavský do Soulu přicestoval v neděli, čeká jej setkání s jeho protějškem a vystoupí také na konferenci k tématu zodpovědného využití umělé inteligence ve vojenské oblasti.

Jižní Korea od února 2022, kdy Rusko Ukrajinu napadlo, často upozorňuje na vojenskou spolupráci Moskvy se Severní Koreou. Jihokorejský prezident Jun Sok-jol také loni navštívil Ukrajinu a nabídl jí podporu ve válce. Slíbil tehdy, že Jižní Korea poskytne Ukrajincům humanitární i vojenskou pomoc.

Pro bezpečnost České republiky je v současnosti největší hrozbou ruský imperialismus, Česko tak oceňuje podporu Jižní Koreje vůči Ukrajině, napsal Lipavský. "Nezapomínáme na naši historickou zkušenost, kdy jsme byli napadeni. Podporujeme Chartu OSN, která zakazuje hrozbu nebo použití síly a vyzývá všechny členy, aby respektovali suverenitu, územní celistvost a politickou nezávislost jiných států," poznamenal.

Pro Evropskou unii i Severoatlantickou alianci je Jižní Korea klíčovým partnerem, zdůraznil Lipavský. Spolupracují na bezpečnostních výzvách v oblastech, které zahrnují kybernetickou obranu, kontrolu zbraní, technologie nebo protiteroristické aktivity. "Pro česko-jihokorejské bilaterální vztahy je oblastí s velkým potenciálem kybernetická bezpečnost," uvedl ministr.

Česko podle Lipavského nadále podporuje mír na Korejském poloostrově a zasazuje se o region bez jaderných zbraní. Vláda v červenci rozhodla o výstavbě dvou nových jaderných reaktorů v Dukovanech, postavit je má jihokorejská společnost KHNP, kabinet jí dal přednost před francouzskou společností EDF. Polostátní firma ČEZ nyní s Korejci jedná o smlouvě, která by měla být podepsána do konce března příštího roku. První z nových reaktorů v Dukovanech by měl být hotový v roce 2036.

Lipavský považuje rozhodnutí za významný moment, který podtrhuje důvěru, kterou Česko má vůči Jižní Koreji jako partnerovi. Spolupráce mezi oběma zeměmi ale není postavena jen na jaderné energetice, míní. Kromě kooperace v dalších hospodářských odvětvích vyzdvihl i například spolupráci ve výzkumu, vzdělávání, v kultuře i ve sportu.
