One of the main aims of this new design was to produce a boat of outstanding comfort and living accommodation space, with as little sacrifice as possible to the excellent sailing performance, windward ability, and seakeeping qualities of this well proven type of hull form.
Apart from the great benefits that can be derived from flaring the hull above the waterline, in terms of keeping the bow up on a reach, the flare gives a massive increase in interior volume without increasing the windage of the hulls at all. For instance, above the waterline the hull flares outwards to give a maximum beam at eye level of 1.95m (6'4"), the impression of space is tremendous and cannot possibly be matched by any similar length catamaran whose topsides rise almost parallel from the waterline.
Construction and Long Term Fatigue By using integrated structural techniques the hull weight can be carefully controlled and the net effect is a strong, light displacement hull with a high long term fatigue life. Integrated Structure is a computer aided design method which I originally developed for the highly stressed ocean racers of the North Atlantic circuit . The structure of the boat is designed in a similar way to a sail where highly loaded areas like reef points and clew are patched out into the lighter body of the sail, the layers of cloth increasing from the lighter body of the sail out towards the clew or reef cringle. (ref 7). On a wood epoxy design this is achieved by laying unidirectional fibres along the line of greatest stress in highly loaded areas, and spreading the fibres into the body of the hull or deck until the stress is distributed over a large enough area to ensure that structural failure of the boat itself is virtually impossible. Fibre quantities are carefully calculated to avoid any stress build up in the structure at vulnerable points, thereby increasing the fatigue life of the boat dramatically.
Windward Performance In the past it was not unusual to find a bridgedeck saloon type Cruising Catamaran which would tack through 100 degrees or more. This poor pointing ability is caused by the combined effect of heavy displacement, inefficient under water foils, small sail area, and poor attention being paid to windage and the streamlining of hull shapes in the air.
By keeping the boat light (through Integrated Structure), by using efficiently shaped daggerboards and rudders, and by minimising the aerodynamic drag - i.e. designing the bridgedeck and hulls to be as streamlined as possible, the Shuttle 32 will have excellent windward performance. Bearing in mind that a sailing boat must be streamlined with the air flowing across the deck at 30 degrees to the bow, because that is the direction the that the wind actually flows across the boat when she is sailing to windward. All the other existing designs in the range have already proven themselves to be outstanding windward boats, tacking through 80 degrees at maximum Vmg, and outsailing all but the stripped out racing multihull machines, on all points of sail.
A wing mast has been chosen as the standard rig A wing provides a very efficient and simple rig, which can be home built. The high aspect jib is self tacking, which means no winching or flogging lines when coming about. Fantastic for cruising! The mast size is designed so that the mast itself becomes the storm sail.
A single outboard is mounted in the centre of the cockpit. and when retracted there are no propellers in the water to cause unwanted drag, and no holes through the hull. In the cockpit the box doubles as a table.
Accommodation
The Accommodation is straightforward and spacious, with the saloon aft in the port hull. 2m (6'7") long and 2.3m (7'6") wide at eye level. The flare in the hull makes this a very spacious and comfortable social area. Forward of the saloon is the 1.9m (6') long galley with ample space for storage and food preparation. The single daggerboard, with our special kick up system, is unobtrusively canted towards the hull side at the ford end of the galley. In the bow is a forward stateroom with a large double bunk. 2m ( '7") x 1.35m (4'6").The starboard hull aft has a very big double berth 2m (6'7") x 1.6m (5'4"), with good locker space and standing area for dressing. Next is a fair sized chart table, and oilskin locker with a separate W.C. / shower area. The forward area is the same as the port hull.
Forward and separate of the berth in each hull is a wet locker accessed from the deck. Reefing and raising/lowering of sails is carried out while standing by the mast........... A 3/4 stratoglass enclosure and full T-top protects the cockpit from spray and rain. A full length tiller bar gives the helmsman considerable choice of where to sit.
Visibility of the sails and forward is very good, which will increase the enjoyment of sailing this exciting performance cruiser.

Tek35 located in that was set up for . The is 33' at waterline and 40' with , 25' beam and 7' draft/3 with board up. You can beach with kick up spade rudders! Set up with full batten main, self tending Camberspar , and an asymmetrical with ATM sleeve. Powered by two low hr 9.9 Yamaha hight thrust outboards.Solar, airex , , inverters and much more This is a open bridgedeck cat that is fast but very roomy. Three double cabins and two more convertible doubles and two heads. Carbon and Kevlar foam construction makes for a tough, stiff and light hulls. Complete inventory and tons of pic can be seen at previous owners website-- billatherholt.com -- is in fair condition, in need of cosmetic on and exterior. Have been just daysailing so all system will need to be gone through and electronic etc. are all pretty dated is priced accordingly at $75,000. Great boat for somebody who want to update and put sweat equity into and make a great cruiser.I'm sure I've left something out so feel free to post or pm any questions.

Too Wild – Advantage 44 – Design Shuttleworth
Too Wild is a Advantage 44 Catamaran desigend by Shuttleworth and built in Germany by Bader Catamarans 1998. Too Wild is a really fast 44ft catamaran with center daggerbord. With 8,5 meters width it is 1m wider than my old boat and with 9 tons only half the weight. The hull is made of kevlar / sandwich and I added carbon interieur. After a time consuming and expansive refit between Dezember and April (new engines, new windows, new sails, new saloon interieur and new non skid painting and other paint jobs inside and outside, replacement of electronics and rudders) we had our first testsail May and June 2022 in the Ionian sea in Greece. I love to sail that boat. It is the fastest of the 4 catamarans I owned so far.
The boat has 3 comfortable double cabins with 1,6m * 2m beds and one big bathroom in the stb front. The interieur was built new in March and April and out of carbon sandwhich. The kitchen was moved from the hull into the saloon. Now there is a spacious couch and a table with setee in the saloon.

The new sandwich cockpit roof offers good sun protection. In good weather we can eat outside at the new spacious cockpit table. If you want to hang out in the sun the front area is a good place for that. The large plattform at the stern is perfect for pumping up a kite or get ready for freediving.

The boat has 3 comfortable double cabins with 1,6m * 2m beds and one big bathroom in the stb front. The interieur was built new in March and April and out of carbon sandwhich. The kitchen was moved from the hull into the saloon. Now there is a spacious couch and a table with setee in the saloon. We try to keep the number of guests to 6 persons max. I cannot promise you your own cabin but I do put ladies and couples together in a double if possible You can have your own double bunk if you pay the double costshare of course. All cabins have windows and doors.
TOO WILD refit – Dec 2021 to April 2022
The boat needed a lot of love and investments, beeing on the hard for more than 4 years. It also has been abused in the past or never really finished (rudders been cut, no repair- and maintainance jobs done for a long time) It found a good new owner by me already investing 30k E and more than 1000hrs work. Jobs I did 2021 / 2022 were:
new carbon fibre saloon interieur built of carbon / sandwhich and laminated solid to the boat – adding more strength. (There was IKEA furniture in it before!)
Repair of the broken floor bords in the hull and new EVA floor inside.
Repair & maintainance of both engines
integrating the kitchen from the hull into the saloon furniture
Replacement of the mainsail and adopting the cockpit roof level to the original sailplan
Sanding, repairing and repainting the deck and the exterieur of the hull
Installation of new saloon windows and suncovers (the old ones have cracked and partly been laminated closed with plywood!)
Extension and strengthening of the rudders with carbonfiber sandwich and installing skegs for rudder- and saildrive protection.

Tektron 35 - A fast Cruising Catamaran
Introduction.
ONE OF THE MAIN AIMS of this new design was to produce a boat boat with comfortable living accommodation space with as little sacrifice as possible to sailing performance, windward ability and seakeeping qualities . This 35 ft Catamaran exemplifies the new generation of performance cruising multihulls, designed and engineered with the latest thinking on structures and computer designed hull forms. The boat is nevertheless suited for skilled amateur construction. the first production version is currently under construction in Canada by Eugene Tekatch, who built the Tektron 50. The Tektron 35 has been developed form a previous 35 ft cat and the Spectrum 42, 44 and, of course, the Tektron 50. the 42's now have several ocean passages behind them and the features of exceptional pitch damping and bow slightly raised on a reach have been well tried and tested and have proven to be outstanding features in improving general cruising comfort at sea, along with greater safety and fine seakeeping qualities.

Construction and Long Term Fatigue
By using integrated structural techniques the hull weight can be carefully controlled and the net effect is a strong, light displacement hull with a good long term fatigue life. Light weight with high strength pays off in a cruising design because the weight saving can be translated into payload capacity. The Tektron 35 will weigh 2.4 tons if built stripped out for racing, but has a further 2.6 tons payload capacity, for long distance cruising. Construction is Airex of Core-Cel foam with glass fibre skins and a limited amount of Kevlar in the inner skin of the hull bottom for impact resistance. Carbon fibre in the main beam ensures that the boat is stiff enough to maintain a straight forestay which is essential when the headsail sheeting angles are as low as 6 degrees.
Hull Aerodynamics and Hydrodynamics
The whole boat has been designed with a very rounded form and the cockpit and crossbeam structure areas as aerodynamically clan as possible. All the deck edges have generous curves. The flare in the hull creates the interior volume needed for comfortable cruising, without increasing the frontal area at all. Forward the deck edge is significantly less rounded than amidships to make it easier to move around on the foredeck, but as the hull profile rises the radius increases to reduce the coefficient of drag as much as possible.
The hull and deck are designed on the computer using CAD modelling techniques. The computer is able to draw sections through the boat at any angle, i.e. in the direction that the wind strikes the boat. This is of great assistance in allowing us to see the lines of air flow as the wind would actually hit the topsides of the hull. To confirm and develop these ideas, we intend to test a number of catamaran models in a wind tunnel in order to arrive at the correct figures for the aerodynamic drag of the hulls and to relate our computer modelling to real results.
A wing mast has been designed as one option even though this is a cruising boat. I feel that the wing is very simple to operate and allows a self tacking jib on a very efficient clean rig. Tacking becomes a pleasure when the only thing you do is turn the wheel - no sheets to winch - no flogging lines, just turn the helm and away you go. The windward sail plan is the high aspect jib and the fully battened mainsail, with a large genoa for off the wind speed and light winds. In a storm the wing can be used as a storm jib, or it can be tied down to stop the boat. Eugene Tekatch proved that this can be a very successful way of handling a cat, when he was in a storm off Bermuda on the Tektron 50.
The most significant change in the interior from our previous designs of this type is that the saloon has been moved to the stern of the starboard hull with the galley amidships. This has been achieved by increasing the flare at the aft end of the boat. Of course this also makes a huge aft double berth in the port hull.
The intention of the layout is that the daytime activities are carried out in the starboard hull, while sleeping accommodation is primarily in the port hull. If one has children aboard, they can be happily asleep while you are with friends in the saloon. Also there is much more opportunity to have some privacy on a long voyage.

Too Wild is a Advantage 44 Catamaran desigend by Shuttleworth and built in Germany by Bader Catamarans 1998. Too Wild is a really fast 44ft catamaran with center daggerbord. With 8,5 meters width it is 1m wider than my old boat and with 9 tons only half the weight. The hull is made of kevlar / sandwich and I added carbon interieur.
