This fabled area provides the untamed extravagance of the French Riviera , the gravity-defying architecture of the Italian coasts, the unaffected charms of Croatia, the fragrant orange groves of Spain , the exotic lure of Turkey and Greece , the birthplace of civilization.

Most luxury boat rentals have five or six staterooms or cabins in various configurations, including twins, double, queen, and king beds. On most charter yachts, you can customize the configuration of the cabins dependent on the number of guests. This will allow you to take between six and 12 charter guests. Depending on the charter vessel, staterooms may include ensuite bathrooms, state-of-the-art entertainment systems, private study areas, and walk-in wardrobes. Larger mega yachts may have additional cabins for staff members like nannies, security, or personal butlers.
It depends on the yacht. For example, you could ask for a master cabin that is separate from your yacht charter guests if you want enhanced levels of privacy. If you are one big family, you can request a yacht with cabins closer together. If sleeping arrangements, including the placement of cabins, are an important consideration, then let your charter broker know.
Of course, kids are welcome aboard a yacht charter in the Mediterranean. Most yachts welcome nannies, too, with some larger superyachts having additional staff rooms specifically for nannies. History The body of water the Romans called “mare nostrum” (or “our sea”) is full of historical landmarks important to all of modern Western civilization, from the basilicas of Italy to the earliest churches and monasteries of France and Spain. Water Sports The waters in the Mediterranean are inviting, and chances are, you’ll spend quite a bit of time in the water while on charter. In particular, the Mediterranean is a hotspot for kitesurfing and windsurfing – especially throughout Italy. Yet, sea kayaking and paddle-boarding are other top activities on a Mediterranean charter. Bottom line, you’ll bask in the sapphire waters during your visit.

From Sassicaia and Ornellaia from Italy to Bordeaux from France, wine lovers will find much to try and taste in the Mediterranean.
Beach Hopping The Mediterranean offers it all. Art, culture, food, you name it. But there’s another reason to book a luxury yacht charter : Mediterranean beaches! From the Amalfi Coast to Ibiza, from St. Tropez to Sicily, you’ll be welcomed by sun-soaked, white-sand beaches offering the best spots to relax and take in the scenery in every port of call.
Across the Mediterranean, charter guests are welcomed by amazing cruising conditions: Small swells, calm seas, and amazing weather. Yet each destination offers its own unique cruising experience.

Every time I ordered a boat using 12 knots everything was fine. Every question was answered, support provided.
This time 12 Knots invites you to discover the most traveled part of the world – a glorious journey around the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
It is a long, lively, occasionally challenging and endlessly fascinating trip off from Gibraltar, one of the fabled Pillars of Hercules, up the coast of Spain, along the Riviera, to the islands of Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, then Croatia, the Greek islands and way-way to Istanbul in Turkey.
Sailing along the coastlines as wild and diverse as anything you encounter before will give you a real insight in this world – while probing through layers of traditions and culture, ancient and modern, rich and poor, fake and authentic.
Be open to surprise and serendipity, be willing to get lost and appreciate each routine’s uniqueness.
The Mediterranean Sea is an intercontinental one that separates Europe from Africa. The Strait of Gibraltar connects it to the Atlantic Ocean on the west; the Dardanelles and the Bosporus – to the Black Sea on the east; and long man-made Suez Canal – to the Red Sea in the south-east.
Renting a yacht in the Mediterranean is a great alternative to a standard cruise on a liner – this way you will feel the true freedom and get unique experience as a real traveler! Spain, Croatia, Italy, France, Montenegro, Turkey, Greece, Malta - wherever you want to go, 12 Knots will help you to charter a yacht that will definitely meet your needs, type of vacation and budget. "The cradle of civilization" offers a huge number of attractions. Secluded bays with paradise beaches and lively cities, fishing villages with colorful boats and modern marinas filled with premium yachts. There is no other part of the world where you may find such a great gastronomic, architectural and nature diversity.
Renting a yacht in the Mediterranean Sea will give you chance to see many countries of this area in a different perspective. Instead of visiting standard touristic places you’ll be able to visit wide variety of little-known places far from the standard routes. For example, the Cote d'Azur is not only the luxurious ports of Saint-Tropez, Monaco and Nice with luxury restaurants, casinos and a great concentration of mega yachts. Here you may also find little fishing villages, where in a family restaurant you can dine on freshly caught fish with white or rose wine. Spain is not only Ibiza discos and beaches of the Costa Brava, full of tourists and pareo vendors, but also quiet harbors with amazingly clear water, where you can enjoy unusual solitude.
Mediterranean yacht charters is the opportunity to do what you want. Every day you can taste local versions of Mediterranean dishes that differ in terms of cooking method, spices and sauces. Without any haste, you may stroll among the ancient ruins and climb the walls of beautifully preserved ancient fortresses, offering spectacular views on the sea - exactly the same as hundreds of years ago.
Your vacations will be much more interesting if you choose to rent a yacht. The Mediterranean coast length is over 40 thousand km, 21 countries and three continents with different coastal relief. Here you can find almost everything: volcanos, starch-white and coal-black lava sand, pebbles and shell rocks.
For photographers, video bloggers and movie lovers, renting a yacht in the Mediterranean also gives the opportunity to see a lot of interesting things – in a quite unique way. Among the places that must be visited is the Italian town of Portofino, where Antonioni / Wenders shot one of the episodes of the romantic drama “Behind the Clouds”. Also don’t miss the Amalfi Coast, which is often served as a backdrop for films about beautiful life. One of the most scenic views here is Positano village with its colorful houses that cascade down right to the blue water.
Those who love nature and silence should include in the list one of the secluded Greek islands with bicycles and boats. You can rest peacefully on some beaches of the eastern coast of Sicily, and find a great combination of warm turquoise of the sea and white fine soft sand. If you are getting bored with peace and tranquility, you may always get off the anchor and set up sails to the place where life is in full swing - like Ibiza, in Barcelona, ??Monaco.
One of the main features of the Mediterranean region is its relative compactness and high dencity of different attractions. History and architecture, museums, nature, beach attractions and water sports, shops, amusement parks - all of these can be in just one sailing vacation.
Mediterranean bareboat yacht charter gives you a chance to visit places that are almost inaccessible from land, because they have neither a parking lot nor a safe trail to the sea. You may find plenty of secluded coves in rocky shores of Turkey and Greece, where every spot can be your personal secret place, whit not risk of finding another company.
Dazzling white streets of the small coastal towns in Greece or red tiled roofs of Montenegro, contrasting with the huge mountains. Malta’s cultural microcosm, where European, Arab and African intertwined, and where, in addition to the magnificent Gothic and Baroque buildings, there are prehistoric sanctuaries, the secrets of which have not yet been solved. Turkey, with places not touched by resorts, where you can clearly feel the breath of antiquity. All this can be points of interest during your yacht charter in the Mediterranean Sea!
For active travelers who value independence versus staying in one spot, decision to rent a boat in the Mediterranean Sea is definitely a solution. If you plan an ordinary trip with an accuracy of one day and hotels bookings in advance, then yacht gives you a chance to improvise and change your plan. Renting a yacht is two in one option: accommodation and transportation at the same time.
It is not surprising that Mediterranean yacht charters are in great demand and one of the most popular sailing destinations offered by 12 knots. Sailing in this region is a dream for many people, while we make it a reality. We offer bareboat and crewed yachts for charter from classic Turkish gulets to modern sailing boats and premium yachts. Our manager will give detailed information each boat so that you can make the right choice.
Above all we also can help with itinerary and destination ideal for your needs and time of the year. For example, if you are looking for diving or other waters sports, we will tell you the best spots for underwater attractions and the best way to get there. Where to find the most beautiful views? Which cities should go to catch spectacular holidays? Where are the best water parks, shopping centers, casinos, discos? Answers to all these questions will help create a unique roadmap.

The splendor of Europe’s most popular destinations awaits across thousands of miles of deep azure. From St. Tropez to the Greek Islands. From Monte Carlo to the Dalmatian Coast. There are thousands of experiences for those who live large and demand luxury.

There are incredible things to do and see throughout the Mediterranean. Please get in touch with us to discuss your luxury yacht charter dream. We will help you select the best destination and yacht for you and your group.
The Mediterranean is home to some of the world’s best motor yachts, many of which are called the Port of Athens home. Ranges from midsize yachts to superyachts and megayachts over 150 feet long. Charter guests on these yachts can enjoy sprawling sundecks , beach clubs , spas , and gyms . Some motor yachts even have elevators .
Entertaining spaces on nearly all motor yachts are ideal for gatherings inside and out, night or day. Dining choices are also varied, but of course, most guests opt to dine outdoors.
With the larger storage spaces inside and on the deck, motor yachts can accommodate many water toys and tenders. These agile tenders shuttle guests to shore and hard-to-reach places. They can also tow water skis , wakeboards , and more.
Traditional gulets, or motor sailors, are available in Croatia , Greece , and Turkey . These large, unique vessels are perfect for bigger groups. Gulets also give a truly authentic East Mediterranean experience. While they have sails, they primarily utilize motor power to navigate the Mediterranean.
Anyone looking for more action and adventure can find it by chartering a catamaran or sailboat . Both sailing catamarans and power catamarans get you closer to the water.
These boats allow easy access to the water for snorkeling , sea-bobs , paddle boarding , and more. Spacious layouts for families make these boats even more attractive. What’s more, sailing catamarans save considerably on fuel costs.
Also, sailboats offer many comforts and amenities and the ability to participate in the journey. Sailing yachts like PANORAMA or AURELIUS are a great way to enjoy the Mediterranean. Take a sailing lesson from the Captain and crew and make lasting family memories.
There are countless destinations to consider when aboard your yacht cruise on the Mediterranean. And each comes with a unique potential for adventure. Here are just a few Mediterranean charter yacht routes to consider:
This is just the start of your adventure. Whether you prefer popular destinations or far-flung beaches, the Mediterranean is calling. And your private Mediterranean yacht charter is the ticket.
Chartering a luxury yacht in the Mediterranean can be a truly extravagant experience. You'll enjoy high-end amenities, exceptional service, and top-of-the-line features. These are but a taste of what makes Mediterranean luxury yacht charters special.
The cost of chartering a private luxury yacht can vary significantly. Factors for pricing include yacht size, brand, age, facilities, crew, time of year, and charter duration. Keep in mind that prices can fluctuate, and the following estimates are approximate:
It's important to note that these prices are the base rates. Rates do not include additional expenses. These include fuel, food and beverages, marina fees, crew gratuities, water toys, and optional services.
Additionally, the time of year can affect prices. High seasons (July and August) typically command higher rates than shoulder or low seasons. Last-minute deals and advanced booking discounts may also be available.
Each route offers a distinct personality, flavor, and scenery. But all offer a taste of European luxury a Mediterranean yacht charter can offer. Here are some of our most popular routes:
Stunning beaches are a highlight of the Mediterranean. From picturesque Positano to magical Mykonos , you have many breathtaking beaches . In addition, your private yacht charter gives you access to hidden beaches. Experience a taste of a sandy spot most people will never have the chance to see for themselves.
Hop from your Mediterranean charter yacht to something considerably nimbler. You can relax on the beach, windsurf , kitesurf , jet ski , kayak , and more. Scuba diving and snorkeling are great ways to explore sea life and shipwrecks below the surface.
UNESCO World Heritage Sites include Cinque Terre (Italy), Amalfi Coast , Naples , and Pompeii . In addition, there are many sites in Athens and the Greek Islands , the Dalmatian Coast , and Plitvice Lakes ( Croatia ). Enjoy the rich culture that these popular destinations can offer.
Take-home gifts from the Mediterranean , including olive oil, wine, blown glass, leather, and textiles. Don't worry; many places will ship items directly back to your home for you as well.
The Mediterranean is a foodie's paradise . Besides upscale restaurants, there are delicious street foods in nearly every town. In addition, you're never far from a fantastic vineyard producing excellent local wines.
You'll find thermal springs throughout the Mediterranean in locations such as Santorini , Greece ; Ischia , Italy ; and Barcelona , Spain . The healing powers of these natural baths will relax and rejuvenate your mind and body.
A Mediterranean climate has dry summers and mild, wet winters. While summer is the busiest season, late spring and early fall make excellent Mediterranean yacht charter vacations.
In the off-season, rates are lower, and there are fewer crowds. The fall provides some respite from Greece's Meltemi winds that blow in July and August. The Mediterranean is a great yacht destination.
Mediterranean Cuisine includes olive oil, fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, and whole grains. White and red meat are also part of the diet, just to a lesser extent. Enjoy delicious pasta in Italy , kebabs in Turkey, and spinach pie in Greece. The variety of options that the Mediterranean offers is incredible.
In Greece and Turkey, you can expect delectable food. This includes baklava, hummus, baba ghanoush with tahini sauce, yogurt, cucumber dips, and fried vegetables. Of course, grilled fish and seafood, vegetable stews, chicken with olives, and lamb kebabs are also main dishes every day.
Regarding Mediterranean cuisine, few places can compare to Italy and France. These countries have perfected the art of culinary excellence. They have a rich heritage in crafting the finest wines and olive oils.
Your private yacht chef will use the freshest local ingredients to create gourmet meals catered to your tastes. Of course, you can also enjoy a meal or aperitif onshore.

Below Deck is now firmly positioned as the ultimate sea-faring reality TV series of our times. Millions of us have tuned in to follow the antics and adventures of our favorite crews, as they’ve navigated the dramas of demanding guests, personal rifts, brushes with maritime law and the odd storm or two…
The charter industry certainly stepped into the limelight as the series hit. Many of you were inspired to recreate some of your favorite moments, taking your first charters in the Caribbean in their wake. Now Below Deck Mediterranean is on our screens, you may be starting to form visions of your own adventure in the Med. The good news is it’s totally possible to create your own Below Deck Mediterranean experience, without necessarily breaking the bank. Read on for our guide to how to go Below Deck on a budget.
The Wellesley (named the wellington in the show) is the largest vessel to feature on the series so far – an incredible 184 foot mega yacht! She was built by Oceanco in 1993, and received an extensive refit in 2016 – featuring masses of luxurious marble, leather, velvet and mahogany panelling. The master suite sits proudly on the upper deck with elevated views. The 2016 refit saw the creation of a second VIP suite.
Whilst all of these luxuries are wonderful to experience on a charter experience, not everyone needs a formal dining room or cigar room aboard their boat. If you’re looking for the full Above Deck experience, we have many incredible super yachts we can offer to you. However, if you’re working with a tighter budget, we can easily work within your means to create the perfect charter for you.
In the Mediterranean we offer all-inclusive packages aboard stunning gulets for as low as €1500 per person, per week. This experience gives you a week aboard a traditional wooden motor-sailing boat, with a full crew (though we can’t promise Captain Sandy will be at the helm).
If a gulet doesn’t take your fancy, a catamaran or motor yacht will surely appeal. Whatever the case, our experts are on hand to find the best boat option for you and your group.
The Destination
On our screens, we see the Below Deck crew taking the lucky guests around the breathtaking island of Mallorca, Spain. We have an incredible selection of boats available in the Balearic Islands, so if you have your heart set on this area we’re poised to create your dream experience with you.
If you’re open to other Mediterranean destinations, you may also consider Turkey, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, French Riviera… the list goes on. All of these destinations offer unique cultures, landscapes, sightseeing and diverse sailing experiences. If you’re not sure where might be the best location for you and your group, we’d be happy to discuss the different options in more detail.
Ok, so as we mentioned, we can’t promise that Captain sandy will be available to welcome you aboard your charter, or that Chef Kiko will be preparing all of your meals for you during your stay. However, we can guarantee a very warm welcome from an experienced, professional crew. Depending on the package you opt for, your crew will include a captain, chef and a couple of deckhands/sailors. They will take care of everything for you during your vacation – all you need to do is worry about relaxing. We can also assure you that there will be a lot less drama on your charter than you see on screen!
Ahead of your vacation, you will speak with your crew to discuss the details of your itinerary. As local experts, they will be delighted to make suggestions for the best spots you won’t want to miss out on. You will also discuss your dietary preference with your chef, so that they can prepare a delicious menu featuring fresh, local produce. All of your meals will be prepared for you during your stay, and the fridge will be kept topped up with your favorite drinks.
Budget-Friendly
All-inclusive packages, by their very nature, are incredibly cost-effective, not to mention stress-free. There are no hidden charges once you’re aboard the boat. You have full access to the bar, water toys, and all other amenities.
If you’re keen to cut costs further, you may consider a half-board charter. This means that all of your breakfasts are included, as well as some lunches and dinners, but otherwise you can head ashore to bars or restaurants to sample the local cuisine. Again, your crew will be able to make recommendations and reservations for you, and will be happy to zip you ashore in the tender (unless you’d rather swim!).
Another great option for smaller groups, couples or individuals wishing to have a taste of the Mediterranean is a cabin charter. Cabin charters give you the opportunity to experience life aboard a luxury vessel, with your own cabin and ensuite, and the opportunity to meet some interesting fellow passengers. You’ll still have the full all-inclusive experience, with access to all facilities aboard the boat, but the itinerary will be decided by the crew.
Let’s Go Below Deck!
This is just a brief introduction to the world of Mediterranean sailing – as seen on your new favorite TV show. The real take-away here is that these packages are totally custom, and we’re here to help you create it. Contact your charter consultant today to start planning your own Below Deck Mediterranean experience!

Experts reveal that wealthy individuals are becoming more selective in their future travel plans. They aim to maximize the impact of their investment, prioritizing value over opulence.
Wealthy travelers prefer privacy and convenience and private helicopters are among the most popular option.
The concept of extreme luxury in travel has significantly changed over the past century. The definition of what constitutes a luxurious travel experience has shifted dramatically, influenced by socio-economic changes, advancements in technology, and evolving consumer preferences.
For billionaires and ultra-wealthy individuals, the approach to travel is completely different than most travelers. Almost everything is curated for them through a bespoke travel agent or personal assistant catering to every detail of their preferences to ensure a seamless holiday.
The most important requirement is exclusivity, as the wealthy usually dislike sharing their vacations with crowds of tourists. Billionaires often like to travel with a group or extended family and participate in private social activities throughout their vacations. This also guarantees privacy, allowing them to relax and enjoy their time without interruption.
"Over the past century, the concept of luxury in travel has undergone significant transformation, mirroring wider societal developments and changing consumer tastes," says luxury travel expert Kostas Panagakis from Travelworks . "From the lavish grand tours of the early 20th century to the highly customized and sustainable experiences of today, the luxury travel industry has consistently evolved to satisfy the aspirations of discerning travelers," he adds. "Looking ahead, the focus on personalization, exclusivity, and sustainability is expected to remain central to the luxury travel sector, paving the way for increasingly sophisticated and impactful experiences."
Wealthy couples are choosing experiential, remote travel including locations like Maldives.
According to a McKinsey report released in 2024, the perception of luxury among ultra-wealthy travelers has evolved. Looking ahead to 2025, high-net-worth individuals are seeking global destinations that provide the unique experiences they crave and booking their travel now.
The report adds, “High-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) tend to trust boutique travel agents, seek privacy and exclusivity, and favor exotic destinations. Very-high-net-worth individuals are more likely to book large suites to preserve intimacy and tranquility, prefer end-to-end experiences steeped in local ambiance, and may focus less on hotel brand names. Ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) prefer quiet luxury with personalized service—targeting remote, private destinations, accessible via private airports or helipads, that feature tailored experiences available nowhere else.”
These travelers focus less on hotel brand names and more on unique, immersive experiences that connect deeply to the locale. This indicates a larger movement within the luxury travel space to provide both opulence and rewarding bespoke experiences that resonate on a personal level.
A recent Virtuoso travel report details, “There is continued demand for exclusive-use experiences such as VIP transportation, luxury yachts, and private residences, along with itineraries incorporating next-level stimulation and engagement. Requests for these exceptionally high-end experiences have increased for 89 percent of Virtuoso advisors. Leading trends in ultraluxe travel include expedition cruises, exotic destinations (such as Fiji, the Maldives, and Thailand), and African safaris.”
Billionaire Jeff Bezos had his Superyacht Koru and its support vessel Abeona cruising the Mediterranean this Summer.
Billionaires spend their holidays in the Mediterranean or Caribbean on private superyachts or chartered voyages. Many giga-yachts (over 400 feet) include extravagant amenities such as multiple helicopter platforms, cinemas, hospitals, and spas that surpass even the most exclusive resorts in the world. These boats symbolize power, showcasing their owners' wealth by proving that bigger is better. I have often noticed the largest yachts anchored near each other in locations like Capri and Greece, forming the ultimate floating private members club.
This summer, numerous billionaires and their yachts were out in force. Among them, Jeff Bezos toured Greece with his 417-foot sailing yacht Koru, along with celebrity friends like Kim Kardashian ; Billionaire David Geffen toured the Med in his 454-foot megayacht Rising Sun; and billionaire Michael Jordan was with his 244-foot yacht MBrace island-hopping in the Med.
Jonny Dodge hitting balls on a superyacht as experiential travel is rising in popularity with wealthy consumers.
When it comes to billionaires, the scale of what they’re looking for is on a different level altogether, says extreme luxury curator Jonny Dodge, CEO of GP Management . “At our company MyOcean, we’ve seen a significant uptake in inquiries for 100-meter-plus yachts. The standard yachts that typically accommodate up to 12 guests simply don’t cut it for these clients. They often travel with large entourages—family, friends, business associates—and need the space and amenities that only the biggest yachts can provide.”
“Destinations are also evolving,” he adds. “The typical South of France or Mykonos circuits are still popular, but there’s a growing demand for more off-the-beaten-path locations. Billionaires are looking for unique, bucket-list destinations with exclusive experiences that few others can claim. We’re talking about the secluded bays of Southeast Asia, the rugged beauty of Patagonia, or the untouched coastlines of remote Mediterranean islands. These clients want something that offers more than just luxury—they want adventure, exclusivity, and, most importantly, something that feels truly their own nowadays.”
Your Sky offers private travel charters for the ultra-wealthy seeking unique experiential adventures.
Forget business or even first class; the wealthy are more likely to take private jets for privacy and convenience. Surprisingly, many ultra-wealthy individuals are using shared ownership charters rather than having the burden of maintaining their own jets.
" Flying commercial isn't just inconvenient for billionaires—it's unthinkable. It's about more than just avoiding the crowds; it's about maintaining privacy, security, and control over their time," says Jonny Dodge. "At Your Sky , we can have their favorite meals on the plane, from McDonald's to caviar or Nobu, yes, really, all three! This level of detail is non-negotiable for our clients. Commercial flights don't offer the level of privacy or the tailored experience they require. Time and discretion are the ultimate luxuries in their world, and flying private is the only way to ensure both."
Glide Villa on the Greek island of Paros. One of the most exclusive kite-in & kite-out beachfront villas in the Mediterranean
The trend among billionaires is continuing towards renting private villas or utilizing exotic vacation homes that cater to their specific needs. This is driven by a desire for privacy and exclusivity. Also, the shift from traditional holidays to extended stays reflects a broader trend of living and working on the move.
Savvas Savvaidis, President & CEO at Greece Sotheby's International Realty , says, "As the desires of ultra-wealthy travelers evolve, there is a growing demand for properties that offer much more than just luxury; they must provide unparalleled, tailored experiences. The Glide Villa in Paros is tailor-made for adventurous travelers and kitesurfing enthusiasts; its exceptional location on a private beachfront allows guests to launch directly into the Aegean Sea, offering an incredible advantage for kite surfers—all while maintaining complete privacy. This rare combination of exclusivity and seamless access to adventure makes the villa a magnet for affluent kitesurfing aficionados who prioritize convenience and discretion."
Aerial view of Villa Treville in Positano, one of the most popular resorts on the Italian coast appealing to wealthy travelers.
Madonna and Jennifer Lopez recently spent their summer holidays at the exclusive Villa Treville in Positano, where legendary General Manager Martino Acampora explains, "Today's discerning traveler isn't just looking for luxury—they're looking for personal touches that make their stay unforgettable. When one of our long-time guests requested a custom upholstery set for their favorite room, it wasn't just about redesigning the space; it was about creating a home away from home. So, every time they visit, we go full 'interior design squad,' ensuring their personal touch is ready and waiting. It's those unique, thoughtful details that make the difference. After all, true luxury lies in the heartfelt experience, not just the amenities—and that's exactly what Today's UHNWI traveler values most."
Global Base co-founder Cameron Biafore adds, "Billionaires are also less interested in traditional resorts, favoring private villas where they can have complete control over their environment. Younger clients seek ultra-modern, tech-integrated spaces that allow them to stay connected and maintain their lifestyle no matter where they are in the world. Older clients are looking for something that blends luxury with comfort—a place where they can relax and entertain guests in a setting that's entirely their own."
CEO Jonny Dodge on the Polar Explorer charter in the Artic Circle. An incredible trip where clients got to stop and walk out on the ice and even put on survival suits and go jump in the sea!
Jonny Dodge organizes some of the most extravagant custom experiences for his wealthy clients at GP Management. “They are pushing the boundaries of bespoke travel, and it’s all about scale and exclusivity. We’re seeing a growing trend where they’re not just chartering yachts or private jets—they’re chartering entire cruise ships or large Airbus private jets to accommodate big groups of people. This isn’t about a vacation; it’s about creating an experience that brings together large groups of friends for unique life-changing trips.”
“There’s a strong appetite for adventure, with a desire for something that no one else has done before,” he adds. “We’re talking about private expeditions to Antarctica where they can explore the last true wilderness on earth, or luxury cruises that take them to the most remote corners of the globe, all with the highest levels of comfort and service. These aren’t just trips—they’re journeys designed to be shared with large groups of family, friends, or business colleagues, making them as much about community as they are about adventure.”
Micato Safaris sets you up for exclusive luxury lodging in Africa
Dennis Pinto, Managing Director of Micato Safaris , says, "After 60 years of orchestrating safaris, be it for affluent, celebrities, captains of industry, or heads of state, we've found that well-heeled travelers want meaningful experiences and unique access, coupled with the inevitable bragging rights, including private satellite communications on demand."
"In 2025, Micato guests will helicopter to the remote Turkana basin near Ethiopia to meet renowned paleoanthropologist Louise Leakey at one of her digs", he adds. "They will also sandboard on the vast dunes of the hidden and virtually inaccessible Suguta Valley in Kenya, track the elusive snow leopard in Ladakh in India, venture to South Africa's Tswalu Game Reserve, and take coveted spots in a chase vehicle to watch a veterinary team dart rhinos from a helicopter, and jet to Rwanda to privately track Silverback gorillas with one of Dian Fossey's guides. Everything from camps, lodges, and bush villas to all manner of transportation is reserved on an exclusive-use basis."
Looking forward to the future, billionaires are no longer satisfied with just luxury—they want unique, life-changing experiences. They certainly have the resources to make that happen, often on a scale beyond imagination.

A celebration turned into tragedy for a british tycoon when the storm sank the vessel off sicily. six people remain missing., by henry austin and corky siemaszko | nbc news • published august 21, 2024 • updated on august 21, 2024 at 4:08 pm.
Newly released video captures a luxury superyacht being battered by a violent storm before it suddenly sank off Sicily with 22 people aboard Monday.
The grainy images obtained by NBC News and other outlets were recorded on closed-circuit television not far from where the Bayesian was anchored, about a half-mile from the port of Porticello, on Sicily’s northern coast .
The yacht's 250-foot mast, illuminated with lights and lashed by the storm, appears to bend to one side before it finally disappears and is replaced by darkness.

The speed with which a yacht built to handle the roughest seas capsized stunned maritime experts.
“I can’t remember the last time I read about a vessel going down quickly like that, you know, completely capsizing and going down that quickly, a vessel of that nature, a yacht of that size,” said Stephen Richter of SAR Marine Consulting.
British tech tycoon Mike Lynch and five of the 22 other people who were aboard the 184-foot vessel remain unaccounted for and are believed to be trapped in the Bayesian’s hull, nearly 170 feet underwater.

Officials confirmed Monday that at least one person, the ship’s cook, had died.
Superyachts like the Bayesian, which had been available for charters at a rate of $215,000 a week, are designed to stay afloat even as they are taking on water to give the people aboard a chance to escape, Richter said.
“Boats of this size, they’re taking passengers on an excursion or a holiday,” Richter said. “They are not going to put them in situations where it may be dangerous or it may be uncomfortable, so this storm that popped up was obviously an anomaly. These vessels that carry passengers, they’re typically very well-maintained, very well-appointed.”
Built by Italian shipbuilder Perini Navi in 2008, the U.K.-registered Bayesian could carry 12 guests and a crew of up to 10, according to online specialist yacht sites. Its nearly 250-foot mast is the tallest aluminum sailing mast in the world, according to CharterWorld Luxury Yacht Charters.
On Tuesday, Italian rescue workers resumed the search for Lynch and the five other passengers still missing: Lynch’s 18-year-old daughter, Hannah; Morgan Stanley International Chairman Jonathan Bloomer and his wife; and Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife.
“The fear is that the bodies got trapped inside the vessel,” Salvatore Cocina, the head of civil protection in Sicily, told Reuters .
The Bayesian is owned by a firm linked to Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares, who was one of the 15 people rescued Monday after it capsized.
“It’s extremely rare for a boat of this size to sink,” Richter said.
What’s not rare is the kind of storm that sank it , said Simon Boxall, senior lecturer in oceanography at Britain’s University of Southampton.
“People assume the Mediterranean is this rather calm and passive place that never gets storms and always blue skies,” Boxall said. “In fact, you get some quite horrendous storms that are not uncommon at this time of year.”
The president of Italy’s meteorological society has said Monday’s violent storm may have involved a waterspout, essentially a tornado over water, or a downburst, which occurs more frequently but doesn’t involve the rotation of the air.
Luca Mercalli, president of the Italian Meteorology Society, also said recent temperatures may have been a factor.
“The sea surface temperature around Sicily was around 30 degrees Celsius [86 Fahrenheit], which is almost 3 degrees more than normal,” Mercalli told Reuters. “This creates an enormous source of energy that contributes to these storms.”
The Mediterranean sailing vacation was designed to be a celebration for Lynch, who two months ago was acquitted by a San Francisco jury of fraud charges stemming from the 2011 sale of his software company Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard for $11 billion.
Prosecutors alleged that Lynch, dubbed “Britain’s Bill Gates,” and Autonomy’s vice president for finance, Stephen Chamberlain, had padded the firm’s finances ahead of the sale. Lynch’s lawyers argued that HP was so eager to acquire Autonomy that it failed to adequately check the books .
Lynch had taken Morvill, who was one of his defense attorneys, on the luxury trip.
Chamberlain was not on the Bayesian.
In what appears to be a tragic coincidence, a car struck and killed Chamberlain on Saturday as he was jogging in a village about 68 miles north of London, local police said.
“Steve fought successfully to clear his good name at trial earlier this year, and his good name now lives on through his wonderful family,” Chamberlain’s lawyer, Gary Lincenberg, said in a statement .
Henry Austin reported from London and Corky Siemaszko from New York City.

From Captain Lee to Chief Stew Kate, the characters of the Below Deck franchise have caught viewers hook, line and sinker over the past few years.
We’ve had Chef Leon’s endless seasons of beef cheeks, yacht crashes, staff falling overboard, firings, hirings and some very impressive cash tips.
While most real-life “yachties” maintain that the dramas shown on Below Deck does not happen on their yachts, it sure does make for good TV.
Below Deck series finished its 11th season this year, but fans can now tune in to the chaos of Below Deck Mediterranean, which is currently being streamed on Bravo.
So where are all our favourite characters these days?
Here’s what the chefs, stewardesses and deckhands did after their stint at sea.
While the rest of his crew were often embroiled in bitter spats and romantic feuds, Captain Lee served as the wise voice of reason.
Known for his no-nonsense approach, he was a staple of the Below Deck family across 10 seasons before his departure due to mobility issues following surgery.
Speaking to the Standard , Captain Lee said: “I miss the traveling. I miss the challenges. And there’s certainly no lack of challenges on board, each one unique and different. So, yeah, I do miss it.”
Since leaving Below Deck, the veteran captain has remained in the entertainment world. He’s gone on to front a true crime series, Deadly Waters With Captain Lee, and a pop culture podcast called Salty with Captain Lee.
However, he may still be open to returning to the show should the producers approach him about it.
Boasting a cheeky sense of humor and a distinct British accent, Chef Ben Robinson knew how to cook up a storm during his seasons of Below Deck. He left the show in 2016 but continued to appear on Below Deck Med in a handful of episodes.

What’s causing your headache? The answer may surprise you
Alongside his television stints, Robinson has stuck to what he knows best: cooking. With almost 1 million Instagram followers, he shares cooking videos on social media as he plates up delicious recipes for diners around the world.
According to Us Weekly, he also specialises in weight loss, addiction support and cancer care. Last year he confirmed that he had proposed to his girlfriend of three years, Kiara Cabral.
Fiery chief stewardess Kate Chastain spent six seasons on the show before confirming her departure to pursue new projects. She also remained in the entertainment world, initially going on to host a Bravo show called Chat Room and appearing on other talk shows. More recently, she has appeared on The Traitors US season one and two.
But her days of working on a yacht may be over. “These days I prefer being a guest on a yacht,” she wrote on social media this summer.
In 2023, Chastain’s son Sullivan was born and she has shared lots of doting pictures of her family life on social media.
Deckhand-turned-bosun Eddie Lucas initially graced our screens for three eventful seasons before returning for another stint in seasons eight and nine. After the show, he remained at sea and finally gained his captain’s licence as he’d always dreamed he would. These days he operates a tug boat in the US.
“I’m the captain now,” he wrote in 2022.
“After 10 years of hard work, I’m proud to announce I am now captain of a harbor tug in Baltimore Harbor. I am working with a great crew, on a great tug, and I’m excited for 30 more years of harder work. Big thank you to my family, both on and off the water, I wouldn’t be here today without you.”
Ashton Pienaar was working as a deckhand on Below Deck when he almost died in season six after his foot got caught in a tow line, sending him overboard. He was dragged into the water and saved by the cameraman during the hairy moment, which left the entire crew shaken.
Pienaar now works as a health and fitness coach and has published a memoir called Knots, Lines, and Life, which is about his life at sea.
Australian chief stewardess Hannah Ferrier is one of the most memorable characters from Below Deck Mediterrenean.
She was forced to leave the show after violating maritime law for holding valium without a prescription, as well as a weed pen.
According to her social media, she is “now helping people realise their dreams of working on yachts” and hosts a podcast called Dear Reality You’re Effed.
In 2020, she gave birth to a daughter, Ava Grace Roberts.
Rocky was one of the wilder crew members to grace our screens, known for her impressive diving skills, mermaid tail and on-screen romance with Eddie.
“After the show, I went on a big blow-out vacation trip, with no rules and no regulations! I linked up with my hot model girlfriends in Paris and just crushed Europe,” she said after leaving the show.
According to Screen Rant, Rocky stepped back from yachting and television and went on to share many social media posts about her dreamy surfer lifestyle.
