Naval Yachts reveals supercar-inspired LXT88 concept

Turkish shipbuilder Naval Yachts has unveiled a 27 metre supercar-inspired concept that will be able to reach top speeds of 42 knots thanks to twin MTU 1600 V12 engines.

Blending high-performance cruising with a bold look, the LXT88 was designed by Naval Yachts’ in-house design team to meet the requests of an existing Naval Yachts client.

One of the most distinctive features of the superyacht is a forward Jacuzzi where guests can cool off and soak up the views on board. “It makes a great chill-out spot,” said Barış Dinc, co-owner of Naval Yachts. “It’s great to have a pool, even a small one, on board a yacht of this length.”

Meanwhile, the LXT88 offers accommodation in three cabins, with additional quarters for a crew of two. The yacht also offers a main saloon and dining area.

The client who provided the inspiration for this yacht is an avid supercar fan and the LXT88 borrows plenty of design cues from the world of luxury cars. Carbon patterns define the side of the hull, with sleek black grills on the stern and a low, predatory superstructure.

The concept would be built in aluminium to ensure lightweight construction and faster speeds. Aerodynamic engineering has also been carefully integrated into the design to ensure the yacht maintains her performance while underway.

“With our innovative design and models that keep up with the modern world, we continue to ensure that our customers can reach the horizons they dream of in the most comfortable and safe way,” the yard said in a statement.

The unveiling of the concept comes shortly after the news that the yard is working on the rebuild of a Gulf Craft yacht under the project name Cavalli .

Naval Yachts LXT88

Supercars and superyachts are not so different. Both sleek machines are synonymous with luxury and high design. They require a high level of craftsmanship and deep pockets, too. Now Naval Yachts is looking to bring the two even closer still.

The burgeoning Turkish shipbuilder, which began in 2008 as a design studio before opening a boatyard in Antalya two years later, has just unveiled a new concept inspired by the aerodynamics of the world’s fastest cars.

“We took some touches from Lamborghini,” the co-owner of Naval Yachts , Barış Dinc, told Robb Report via email.

To that end, the sporty 88-footer known as LXT88 focuses on speed and dynamism just like any good Raging Bull. Designed for a supercar-loving client, the vessel sports a svelte orange hull, with black carbon accents and a menacing grille stern.

The LXT88 features a large Jacuzzi forward.  Naval Yachts

Forged from lightweight aluminum, the speedster will be fitted with twin MTU 1600 V-12 engines that will allow it to reach 42 knots at full tilt, according to the yard. (For comparison: Tecnomar’s Lamborghini 63 , which was released early last year, sports two MAN V-12s that churn out 2,000 hp each to give the dayboat a top speed in excess of 60 knots.) The yacht’s inline stern drive system reportedly gives it great maneuverability and efficiency, too.

Dinc says details regarding the interior (and renders) will be available in the coming days. To give you a taste, though, there will be three guest cabins, a main saloon and dining area, as well as crew quarters with space for two. There’s also a Jacuzzi forward,  because why not.

This isn’t the only vessel to take a four-wheeler for a muse, either. After releasing that Lamborgini day boat, Tecnomar followed up with another superyacht inspired by the lines of a supercar. Lazzarini and Rossinavi have also penned boats that take cues from a Ferrari and Bugatti, respectively.

You know what they say: Three’s a trend, and hopefully this is one that will last.

Once you become a supercar collector, it must only be natural to want to have the same kind of performance, uncompromising quality, and level of luxury on all your other means of transportation. With this particular type of client in mind, Turkish boatbuilder Naval Yachts has created the LXT88 superyacht.

lxt 88 yacht

The latest entry in the Luxstream Series of superyachts, LXT88 is an 88-footer (27-meter) boat that offers premium features and outstanding capabilities, wrapped in a gorgeous, supercar-inspired package. The hull of the vessel is lightweight aluminum painted in a striking shade of burned orange, with black carbon fiber, and is designed with speed and dynamism in mind. The superstructure is low, which gives the vessel an almost predatory silhouette.

lxt 88 yacht

If you’re to think of the LXT88 in any way compared to other motorized vehicles, the Turkish boatbuilder would rather you compared it to a supercar. It was designed for a potential future owner, whose profile was inspired by an existing Naval Yachts client.

lxt 88 yacht

Powered by twin MTU 1600 V12 engines, this superyacht would sail at 42 knots (48.3 mph / 78 kph) at full throttle, while its generous interior would offer comfort and, more importantly, plenty of room for the luxury amenities. Baris Dinc, co-owner of Naval Yachts tells usl that the study is just in its first stage, so more details about the interior are forthcoming.

lxt 88 yacht

That said, LXT88 would offer accommodation for up to six guests in three cabins, and two crew members in separate quarters, a main saloon and an indoor dining area. Immediately noticeable is the large jacuzzi at the bow, of which Dinc says it would  “make a great chill-out spot,”  especially since  “it’s great to have a pool, even a small one, on board a yacht of this length.” While the owner profile for the LXT88 is fashioned after an existing client, this superyacht is in concept stage as of the time of press. Naval Yachts says more details will be released in the coming days so, if you like what you see of the exterior (who doesn’t, really?), keep an eye on this space

Take a look at this 88-foot yacht concept designed to imitate a luxury sports car with 'touches from Lamborghini'

Naval Yachts unveiled a concept yacht created to look like a luxury car.

The 88-foot yacht is called the LXT88. It features a jacuzzi and can go as fast as 42 knots.

In recent years, design firms have made yachts emulating Lamborghinis and Ferraris.

The LXT88, created by Turkey-based Naval Yachts, is 88 feet long and was inspired by the sleek and futuristic designs behind some of the world's most popular super cars.

Naval Yachts told Robb Report the yacht was inspired by a client who is a super car enthusiast.

"We took some touches from Lamborghini," Barış Dinc, co-owner of Naval Yachts, told Robb Reports.

The LXT88 has an orange hull that follows the sleek lines of a super car and a stern with rough edges akin to the grill of a sports car.

The yacht not only takes on the aesthetic of a super car, but it can go as fast as 42 knots, or about 48 miles per hour.

Naval Yachts told Insider it will release interior design concepts in the coming days.

But, Boat International reported the LXT88 will include three cabins for guests and living quarters for two crew members.

The vessel will also have a saloon and dining area, per Boat International.

Naval Yachts said in a press release the concept yacht is an attempt to combine the luxury experience of the yacht world with the speed and aesthetic of a super car.

"With our innovative design and models that keep up with the modern world, we continue to ensure that our customers can reach the horizons they dream of in the most comfortable and safe way," the company said in its press release.
