For the electrical system, SeaMaster boats are equipped with state-of-the-art components to ensure hassle-free and reliable operation. This includes modern navigation systems, communication equipment, and lighting.

Regarding water capacity , most SeaMaster boats come with fresh water tanks that can hold between 50 to 200 gallons, depending on the size and model.

The interior of a SeaMaster boat is well-appointed with several amenities below deck . The forepeak usually contains a private cabin with an ensuite shower , while the main area consists of a comfortable saloon with a table for dining. The cabin sole is often crafted from teak or other high-quality materials, providing a warm, elegant ambiance.

Finally, to ensure a comfortable onboard experience, SeaMaster boats usually come equipped with Eberspacher diesel heating systems. These systems provide consistent heating throughout the vessel, making them an excellent option for boating enthusiasts who sail in colder climates.

History of Seamaster

Seamaster, a revered name in the realm of boat manufacturing, was first established in the mid-1950s in the United Kingdom. Due to its high-quality designs and innovative technology, the company swiftly carved out a unique space within the boating industry. Known for their trendsetting cabin cruisers, Seamaster boats were primarily built in Brundall, a village in Norfolk which sits alongside the River Yare. The lush waterways of the Broads National Park served as a perfect testing ground for their sturdy, versatile vessels. They showcased a diverse fleet, including the Seamaster Cub, Seamaster 20, and the popular Admiral range.

In the 1980s, Seamaster was purchased by a well-respected name in the industry, Porter and Haylett of Wroxham. During this time, they continued to manufacture their prestigious, iconic models. However, the original Seamaster site in Brundall closed down and operations were moved to Potter Heigham. The Porter and Haylett era also saw the introduction of the very modern Seamaster 813 and the revamped 30 range.

The turn of the century brought several changes for Seamaster. In 2001, the Birchwood Marine company acquired the entire Seamaster portfolio. As of today, Seamaster boats are predominantly built in their factory in Broadland, Norfolk, allowing the pleasant memories of the brand's origin in the Broads to live on. Despite changes in ownership and location, Seamaster has upheld its reputation for manufacturing reliable, robust, and quality boats cherished by boating enthusiasts worldwide.

When should you visit?

With a long hot summer, the best time to sail in Greece is May to mid-October. August is the peak month, with school holidays in play. June and July are both wonderful months to visit, with the sea temperature gradually rising as the weeks go by. Early July, and the very end of August and start of September are favourite times to sail outside of the school holidays. If you’re looking for a great deal, then May and October are the months for you!

Where are our bases?

Our bases in Greece are evenly spread throughout the country, with each sailing area having at least two bases to choose from. Within a sailing area, the individual base you choose to sail from is often not as important as the yacht, so always prioritise the boat before the specific base. That said, it’s important to choose a base that gives you convenient access to the sailing region that you wish to sail.

How to get there?

Seamaster offers financially protected flight packages to Greece from the UK. Each sailing region has at least one designated airport, though many have two to choose from. When flying from the UK there are numerous airports around the country that fly to Greece, and when flying from further afield, Athens Airport is the main international airport serving as a hub for the country. For specific airports in Greece, you’ll find them on our region pages.

What wind and weather should I expect?

Expect hot summer weather from May to October, with the water temperatures warming up through the year. Wind conditions are not as uniform however, as each region has its own unique wind patterns. During peak summer you will experience very windy conditions in the Cyclades Islands that can affect the Dodecanese Islands and Sporades Islands. Early and late season are better times to visit the Cyclades Islands. The Ionian Islands on the western side of Greece are a far more gentle proposition throughout the entire summer, which can lead to a lack of actual sailing. The Saronic Islands are what we call the most balanced of the sailing areas in Greece, with enough wind to get you around but not enough to get you in trouble.

How much are mooring fees in Greece?

There are very few mooring fees in Greece, though there have been reports of them creeping in on recently installed floating pontoons and restaurant quays. These mooring fees range from €10 per night to €30 on the newest facilities but you shouldn’t expect to pay more than €100 per week.

What sailing qualifications do you need in Greece?

To sail in Greece, you should have an ICC certificate (International Certificate of Competence). Please note that a Day Skipper certificate is no longer accepted. If you have a sailing certificate that you would like to check, or if you are in any doubt, please contact Seamaster and we will advise you or even get pre-approval for you.
