We are a global ecommerce business founded 20 years ago serving both the corporate and private sectors with our growing range of different services. Our current offering includes ready-made model ships, model boat kits, display cases, model restoration, 3D printing, rendering and architectural models. With an international reach that spans over 80 countries and a website with four currencies, our presence in the market has continued to grow and we have 1000’s of satisfied customers across the world.

We have pursued our interest in building ready-made ship models and offer three levels of quality, with multiple workshops located over the globe that can meet a variety of requirements and budgets. The likes of our best quality can be seen in prestigious places including a variety of different museums and the offices of high profile shipping, yachting and cruise companies. Working with a portfolio of corporate customers from different industries has expanded our collection to include model tankers, container ships, technical vessels and modern yachts.

We provide a highly bespoke service and have a strong philosophy based on meeting customer’s needs. We promise that if you can supply plans or photos of your boat or boats, then we can build it. We have carried this philosophy over 20 years of model making and have completed 200 custom built projects. Our latest venture has been in to the World of 3D printing and we are looking forward to using this technology in our ever evolving business.rrr

Welcome to our model boat website, the ultimate destination for collectors and enthusiasts of classic model boats. We specialize in offering an extensive collection of high-quality models of some of the most iconic boats in history, including Riva, Chris Craft, and hydroplane models.

Our Riva models are handcrafted to capture the timeless elegance and style of these classic Italian speedboats. Our selection of Riva models includes Riva Aquarama, Riva Ariston, Rivarama and Aquariva.

Our Chris Craft models are equally impressive, featuring attention to detail and an emphasis on classic American style.  For those who appreciate the speed and excitement of hydroplane racing, we also offer hydroplane models that capture the sleek lines and beauty of these high-performance boats.

All our model boats are sold fully built. They aren't kits. These are display models only and not radio-controlled.

At 'Britannia Pond Yachts' we want to help preserve and promote the pastime of sailing pond yachts for future generations to come. By designing our own range of free sailing wooden model boats, we have incorporated the qualities and form of vintage model sailing yachts in every single one of our completed model boats. We first design our model yachts using our own hand drawn plans, the hull shapes are transferred onto timber blanks which are then carefully hand carved using traditional tools, methods, and materials. In this way we can optimise a yachts smooth sleek lines and extract the very best sailing performance from our wooden model yachts. The grace of billowing sails, the style and lines of model sailing boats from an age gone by, is evident from every little detail that has been carefully considered to provide you with the most beautiful model sailing boat that we can build.

We are also able to supply a large range of classic, vintage model boats and antique Pond Yachts from manufacturers like the famous Star Yachts of Birkenhead, Bowman, Skipper, Suggs, Ailsa, Gamages, Alexander and many others. Some of these sailing boats we restore to sailing condition, we also offer other vintage model yachts for restoration by yourself. Our stock is constantly changing please visit our shop to see our latest stock of vintage model yachts. If we do not list what you are looking for please ask, as we may be able to find it or you. From time to time to are also able to supply highly collectable Victorian and Edwardian Cutters. So if it is a gaff rigged cutter a topsail clipper bowed schooner, or a toy yacht or a toy boat that is suitable for a child, or a racing yacht or a gaff rigged antique cruiser for you then please enquire.

Occre Endurance 12008

In the race to conquer the South Pole, three names loomed large: Ernest Shackleton, Robert Falcon Scott and Roald Amundsen. The Endurance was launched on 17 December 1912 under the name “Polaris”. Originally rigged as a frigate, she was converted into a three-masted barquentine and in 1914 joined the famous Trans-Antarctic Imperial Expedition to cross Antarctica under Sir Ernest Shackleton’s command. After the Expedition was shipwrecked on 19 August 1915, the Endurance was trapped in the ice of the Weddell Sea. For 522 days the explorers braved winds up to 300 km/h and temperatures of 40 degrees below zero. Shackleton and a few hand-picked men took a small boat, the James Caird, and made one of the most memorable and heroic journeys in sailing history. Together with all their crew, they accomplished the most important feat of all...surviving. The expedition is remembered as an epic story of endurance, heroism and survival. The fifie is a type of fishing vessel developed on the east coast of Scotland. The kit has been designed specifically for any type of model maker, and as such it is a perfect kit for those who want and expect a little more. All fittings, masts and rig have been researched using contemporary sources and the most up to date reference material available to make the kit as accurate and as detailed as possible. Scale: 1:32. Happy Hunter

Krick has now re-released the Happy Hunter under it's Ro-Marin Range The Happy Hunter is a scale reproduction of a Dutch ocean-going salvage tug to a scale of 1 : 50. The boat is built to be powered by a direct-drive, i.e. non-geared system, in the form of two high-torque 700 electric motors. Fixed Kort nozzles increase thrust, and the boat is capable of carrying out extremely arduous towing tasks and complex manoeuvres in conjunction with the bow thruster, which is an optional accessory. The capacious plastic hull allows the modeller to install numerous auxiliary working systems, and experienced builders will enjoy fitting out the Happy Hunter with a working lighting system, radar, anchor winch, sound system and towing mechanism. It is even possible to install a fully working crane; the crane itself is included in the kit. Click Here for further information

Aeronaut Pilot Boat 1:25

Boats of this general type are widely encountered along the Baltic and North Sea coasts. These vessels are very agile and fast, typically capable of 25 - 30 kn. Their task is to provide reliable, all-weather transport for pilots to the large ocean-going ships. The space aft of the command stand can accommodate several pilots, so that a single excursion can take all of them out to their “workplaces”. Our model very effectively incorporates the typical characteristics and handling of these boats. The model is based on a modern planing hull, and is therefore very fast and agile. The hard-chine hull is of plastic construction. All the ABS parts are supplied laser-cut, and can be slotted together and glued immediately. The hull is assembled on a Depron jig. The power system consists of two electric motors which can either be controlled individually (2 x Multi 25 speed controller) or in common by a single Multi 40 controller. Upgraded facilities, new models and a fresh design perspective for this Italian shipyard

Cantieri di Pisa has always set its sights above and beyond. In the 1970s, the shipyard etched its yacht-building legacy with the Akhir series, a range inspired by celestial constellations. Today, the yard is rekindling its theme of astrology, unveiling a new fleet that pays homage to its historical models, and introducing the first of its new line of steel, aluminium and composite yachts, aptly named after a sailor's true north: the Polaris 48.

The revival of the lines comes hot on the heels of the brand's restructured leadership in 2021, when Enrico Gennasio, CEO of Alfagomma, acquired the shipyard, teaming up with the CEO of Cantieri di Pisa, another passionate yachting individual, Marco Massabò. Their vision? To return the yard to its former heyday with the launch of 10 innovative models across multiple categories, signalling a new era for the shipyard.

Expanding horizons

To realise such ambition and fuel the launch of new models, the shipyard is well on its way to an impressive transformation, which began in spring this year. Throughout the multi-year expansion plan, €6 million has already been invested in significantly expanding and modernising the facilities. These facilities, which will exceed 50,000 square metres, are located in the Pisa region on the banks of the Navicelli Canal, an important historical channel strategically connecting Pisa with the yachting hub of Livorno, stretching north to La Spezia.

Keeping the historical integrity of the offices in the main shed, these remain on the same site while expanding upwards by 20 metres. Adjacent to this, a newly raised 20-metre-high shed is joined by a state-of-the-art structure, boasting a 20-metre height and 14-metre width, designed to accommodate the movement of yachts between.

The expansions also include 17,500 square metres dedicated to production and administration spaces, ensuring efficiency at every build stage. A fully equipped 600-metre dock will also be ready to launch the models. Complementing this are a robust 300-tonne travel lift, a 20-tonne service crane and a 300-tonne capacity boat trailer, highlighting the shipyard's readiness to handle yachts of large scales. Alongside the new build capability, the shipyard will also host 24,000 square metres of space for refitting projects.

Reviving a legacy

With these new facilities nearing completion, the brand isn't just expanding its physical footprint but also extending the possibilities of yacht building as it begins rolling out the new series. These models’ designs will focus on weight optimisation and more environmentally conscious hulls while drawing inspiration from the shipyard’s golden age of yachts.

The creative driving force behind the 48-metre exterior lines is the yard's newly appointed chief designer, Antonio Luxardo, alongside Optima Design, who coordinates the engineering capabilities. A veteran yacht designer, Luxardo has over 400 projects under his belt. His design for the Polaris 48 is a testament to his ability to honour tradition while pushing the boundaries, merging the refined lines of Cantieri di Pisa's past with today's technological advancements.

Exploring versatile design

At its core, the Polaris 48 exemplifies versatility. The yacht promises the range of an explorer, coupled with exterior spaces that adapt to any occasion and interiors that reflect sophistication. The result is a yacht that is overflowing with multifunctional spaces and amenities.

The spacious open deck areas offer versatile liveability. The upper deck has a vast social entertaining space, while the main deck has 200 square metres of living space, combining the interior and exterior. One standout feature is the beach club that opens on all sides. When the space isn't being used for relaxation, it can accommodate up to three tenders, with an optional Jacuzzi. For accommodation, the master and VIP cabins are found on the main deck, with a further four guest cabins on the lower deck.

The interior design of this first unit is courtesy of Parisotto + Formenton. As a tribute to the former historic Akhir line, the interiors of this model follow the same suit, including pickled teak, carbon fibre, bronze, glass and brass, resulting in light and warming palettes.

When it comes to performance and improving efficiency, Cantieri di Pisa has included its branded Eco High Power Hull (EHPH) design as a displacement hull to lower fuel consumption, maximise range and contribute to better eco-conscious credentials.

Brighter futures

The Polaris 48 will be followed by a custom 37.5-metre explorer, which has recently been sold to a French owner and is slated for delivery by summer 2026. "We’re very pleased with how quickly we’ve concluded this important sale thanks to the collaboration of all the parties involved and, above all, our sales division and engineering department," says Marco Massabò, CEO of Cantieri di Pisa. This milestone marks the first yacht over 30 metres sold since Gennasio's acquisition, setting the stage for future developments. Plans are also underway for a larger model, the Super Polaris 60, and designs for the new Saturno and Akhir lines.

With its enhanced shipyard facilities and forward-thinking design philosophy, which culminates in iconic designs and embraces new technology, Cantieri di Pisa's stellar ambitions are coming to fruition, brightening the future of yacht building one model at a time.
