The Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show
The Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show takes place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 26-28, at the Annapolis City Dock . Set in the seaport of Annapolis, it displays catamarans, monohulls, racing boats, and inflatables - with over 100 new and brokerage yachts. Check out the vessels and spend some time shopping for the latest equipment, including electronics, clothing, and other accessories. The show runs from 10 am to 6 pm on Friday and Saturday and from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. General admission is $18; children under 12 are free.
Or indulge in an exclusive VIP Experience for $85/ticket. Your VIP ticket includes Boat Show admission and access, with unlimited entry, into the VIP Lounge located inside Latitude 38 Waterfront Restaurant. The lounge includes a full bar starting at noon, continental breakfast, buffet lunch, and afternoon appetizers. Valid for one day only.

A Celebration of Sailing at the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show
There’s something for everyone at the 2024 Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show
Annapolis Boat Shows will be hosting the 2024 Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show April 26-28 at City Dock in Annapolis, MD. The show will be open to the public 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. This year, there are expected to be more than 40 sailboats on display and over 100 total exhibitors. New to the show is the No Wake Zone—a space to house local wine and spirits tastings, live music, and an outdoor-wear fashion show. This year’s show has a renewed emphasis on getting new people into sailing with programming for both kids and adults. The show also serves as a gateway to the US Sailing Capital, with showgrounds only steps away from historic downtown Annapolis.
Boats in the Show Smaller in volume than the fall show, the spring show offers an impressive range of boats. There will be a selection of electric yacht tenders, racing dinghies, daysailers, cruisers, and multihulls with LOAs ranging from 11’ to 60’ ( see full list ).
A notable outlier is the 157’ Pride of Baltimore II . The recreation 19 th century Baltimore clipper may not be available for purchase, but like all the boats featured at the show, attendees are welcome to climb aboard and explore.
No Wake Zone New to the show this year is the No Wake Zone – an area set aside for attendees to relax while highlighting local brands and artists. The outdoor lounge area has been furnished by Gabby & Summer Classics. Live music will be performed by local musician Sean Owen. Samples of Maryland-made bourbon, whiskey, vodka, gin, rum, and wine will be offered , and bottles will be available for purchase. On Saturday, fashion shows will be held to showcase activewear from Shanks Golf Apparel and Made Plus shoes ( read more ).
Landlubbers Welcome Presented by the American Sailing Association, First Sail Workshop is a hands-on class that affords people aged 18 and up the opportunity to establish the foundations of sailing. The workshop is divided into a 45-minute classroom session and a 90-minute, on-water lesson aboard a Beneteau First 22. The class is priced at $65 per person and includes admission to the show and a one-year membership to BoatUS.
Additionally, SpinSheet Publishing will be holding a meetup at the Spring Sailboat Show on the morning of Sunday, April 28, for the sailors it has interviewed over the past 10 years as part of SpinSheet’s Start Sailing Now campaign. Start Sailing Now shares the stories of people who started sailing as adults and aims to encourage other adults to take up sailing. Showgoers who are at the show as it opens on Sunday morning are invited to join these sailors (made identifiable by their Start Sailing Now badges) huddled around the SpinSheet booth swapping stories and offering encouragement.
Youth Sailing
Along with a selection of dinghies, the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show has a lot to offer young sailors and their parents. A notable addition to this year’s show is the Rooster sailing gear trailer. There will be a wide variety of sailing apparel available for purchase as well as knowledgeable staff to direct parents as to what gear their child needs and proper fitting. Loaner life jackets will be made available at the show entrances courtesy of BoatU.S.
All are invited for a youth sailing panel discussion and Q&A session on Saturday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m. Whether parents have already registered their child for a youth sailing program this season or simply wonder whether such a program would be right for their family, they won’t want to miss the casual and lively panel discussion planned for families who have questions about youth sailing. Moderated by SpinSheet staff, this session will touch on all the essentials that families need to know to get their youngsters sailing. A group of coaches, parents, and recent college sailors will discuss the gear kids need, safety, costs, how kids progress to bigger boats, and more. More generally, panelists will discuss how sailing fosters life skills, problem-solving, and independence. Children are encouraged to attend accompanied by an adult.

Annapolis Spring Sailboat ShowThe Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show marks the beginning of the boating season each year on the Chesapeake Bay. The show takes place during the last full weekend in April. This is the premier event for anyone considering finally buying that dream sailboat. The show takes place at Ego Alley and the Annapolis City Dock, which are highly familiar to anyone involved in boating in Annapolis . Attendees can board and inspect dozens of new and brokerage sailboats at the Spring Sailboat Show, which is one of the best things to do on the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis . These always include mono-hull and multi-hull boats, fishing boats, trawlers, pontoons, and luxury cruisers. Each boat has experienced representatives on hand to answer questions about buying and maintaining a boat. Bay Bridge Boat Show The Bay Bridge Boat Show takes place on Kent Island, on the opposite side of Chesapeake Bay. It's just a 10-minute drive from Annapolis across the bridge. This is primarily a powerboat show with more than 100 new boats for interested buyers to explore. Family-friendly seminars and boating classes are available, where people can learn Precision Docking, Open Water Boat Handling, and Intro to Boating. There are usually several boats that show attendees can take out on the water. Just schedule a test drive at the Demo Dock in the morning. On-site parking at the Bay Bridge Boat Show costs $10 per car. Once the parking lot is full, attendees can park at Kent Island High School and take a shuttle bus to the Bay Bridge Marina. The Bay Bridge Boat Show has beer and food stations at the marina and live entertainment. This show takes place in mid-April, two weeks before the "official" start of the boating season. Annapolis Powerboat ShowThe Powerboat Show takes place in October each year. Ego Alley and the Annapolis Harbor are turned into a temporary marina, complete with floating docks, where showgoers can check out the latest powerboats, fishing trawlers, luxury yachts, and other powerboats of all types. This is considered one of the world's most extensive in-water boat shows. Inflatable speedboats, center consoles, family cruisers, and many additional types of new boats are on display for those considering purchasing the new model-year ships that are about to come on the market. And it all takes place in one of Annapolis' top waterfront neighborhoods . Past powerboat vendors at the show include Grady-White Boats, Cobia, Pursuit, and Burr Yacht Sales. Over 400 boating and accessories vendors have lined the City Dock in Annapolis during past Powerboat Shows. Hundreds of service exhibitors are also at the show, offering everything from boat maintenance and custom canvas to electronics installation and boat financing. Food and beer stations are available as well. And as with most boat shows, there are courses and educational workshops for people to learn more about the boating lifestyle. While this is a tremendous opportunity to check out new powerboat models, politeness always counts at boat shows! Capital Gazette eNewspaper Local News | Prince George’s cycling club returns to Annapolis for ‘Ride Against Hate’ following alleged racist attack The late-August event which garnered well over 100 people, according to attendees, was organized in response to an incident the riders say they encountered on the evening of June 28. They were riding through the city and grabbing ice cream when pedestrians began to call them racial slurs and a car full of people attacked them with bear mace and a rock, Push’N Pedals Cycling Club president Josh Jenkins said. “That was the first time we’ve ever experienced anything like that down there,” Jenkins said, adding the group has been riding annually in that part of Annapolis for about three years. “It was kind of shocking.” At around 9:30 p.m. Friday, Push’N Pedals and other area cycling group members of DMV Cycling Alliance and Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley rode into downtown Annapolis. It was an event they dubbed the ‘Ride Against Hate.’ Jenkins said the Annapolis Police provided an escort to ensure everyone felt safe. Meanwhile, Kilwins Annapolis provided free ice cream. It was important for Jenkins, a Crofton area resident, that the group return to Annapolis to convey that the members would not be deterred from riding there because of the June incident. “I don’t believe that is what Annapolis is about,” Jenkins said, adding the group didn’t want to allow a few individuals to scare them away from enjoying the natural beauty around the capital city. Buckley said he was glad to see the group return and not “give up on Annapolis.” “When you try to make your city more inclusive and something like that happens it feels like you’re taking 10 steps backwards,” Buckley said. The ‘Ride Against Hate,’ however, seemed at least a few steps forward, he said, and even worth adjusting his typical 8:30 p.m. bedtime for. Since the cyclists didn’t immediately call 911 but did a few days later, the investigation has been slow going. However, Buckley said the city has made progress in determining the specifics of the car involved and is seeking out security footage to find the number on the license plate, which Buckley said one of the riders noted was from Virginia. Having the event so soon after the incident was key, Buckley added, explaining that the longer the city goes without some form of response the stronger the message that this kind of behavior will be tolerated. “This is a hope to sort of nip that stuff in the bud,” he said.
