The Sea of Abaco offers unique supreme cruising grounds due to the protected waters and the close proximity of the many outlying Cays. This allows you to island hop and visit many remote islands in a short period of time. Our day trips can be any one of the destinations below, or just an exciting full day of sailing in the Bahamas!

Our Captained sailing charters in the Bahamas entail your Captain meeting you aboard each morning to sail to your desired destination. He will be picked up at the end of each day wherever you are so you will have the boat to yourselves each evening to enjoy with a dinghy at your disposal should you wish to go ashore and explore. Your Captain will return at whatever time you wish the following morning and off you go to your next destination! It’s the perfect way to enjoy a Bahamas sailing vacation that comes with the benefit of an experienced Captain and the freedom to relax, explore, or enjoy a night of privacy as you see fit.

Here is a sample of a one-week cruise itinerary. Shorter and longer cruises are also available. We offer this same itinerary on our ASA charters; the only difference is that the boat is your classroom while you sail!

Sample Itinerary for Bahamas Charter Guests

Day 1 (arrival day).

We will meet you at Dock 7, Boat Harbour Marina, located at the Great Abaco Beach Resort. We will get you aboard and settled into your boat, which remains in the marina for the first night. You will have access to all the fabulous resort facilities, which include a beautiful pool, restaurants, shops, and pool bar. After checking the tide and weather forecasts, we will create a cruise plan for your charter that combines your interests and the weather perfectly. Spend the afternoon exploring, going for a swim, or enjoying the resort’s private beach – and that evening, you can enjoy the local live entertainment and stargazing from the cockpit!

Set sail to Guana Cay – home of beautiful beaches and fantastic places to explore. Nestle in at a dock, mooring, or at anchor, then you are off to the beaches for snorkeling, sunning, and swimming. Be sure to check out the ever-popular Nippers – every Sunday, they offer a fun party on the beach.

Plan to Continue your adventure this morning with a stop at Fowl Cay Underwater Park with a visit to the reef for some snorkeling. Take an afternoon sail to the delightful Man-O-War Cay settlement – the boat building capital of the islands. Here you can explore the small shops of the Cay, visit Albury’s Boat Building and Canvas Shop and discover the rich history of this quaint, peaceful island.

Just a short sail from Man-O-War Cay you will arrive in Hope Town on Elbow Cay with plenty of time to explore this charming settlement. This is a great fishing area, so be sure to troll a line! Go out to lunch, climb the historic lighthouse, visit the museum and shops, or just hit the beach – whatever you desire. Enjoy dinner and drinks at one of the various local restaurants this evening.

Sail south to gorgeous Tahiti Beach to beach comb, swim, snorkel and do some fishing. Enjoy a relaxing dinner aboard or dinghy to a nearby restaurant. This is an awesome anchorage for dinghy exploring, kayaking or paddle boarding – if you’ve never tried a stand-up paddleboard before, this is the perfect spot to give it a go!

Explore further south today with a visit to snorkel Sandy Cay Park. Later that morning continue to the artist’s settlement Little Harbour and grab lunch at Pete’s Pub. You can enjoy an anchorage at Lynard Cay, Tilloo Cay or Tahiti Beach.

Kayak, snorkel, and paddle board the crystal clear waters of Tilloo Bank and enjoy shelling and sand dollar hunting. Relax and enjoy a late afternoon sail back to Marsh Harbour, reflecting on the abundant beauty of our island paradise.

Awake relaxed and enjoy a leisurely breakfast prior to your departure at 10 am.

Staniel Cay

5-Hour Cruise

Depart Harbour Island at dawn and arrive in The Exumas by early afternoon and have lunch at the famous Staniel Cay Yacht Club . Swim with the nurse sharks and spend the afternoon relaxing on the yacht or exploring the island's crystal clear waters by jet ski or paddle board.

Depart Staniel Cay and head to Big Major Island, famous for its swimming pigs . Next, head to the Thunderball Grotto and, if the tide is low, swim into the hidden cave and enjoy a leisurely lunch aboard your yacht before heading back to Staniel Cay.

Highbourne Cay

2-Hour Cruise

Depart Staniel Cay and head to Highbourne Cay. On your way, stop and explore the many secluded islands; a must-see is Norman Cay where you'll be able to snorkel and see Pablo Escobar's smuggler plane wreck and colorful reefs.

Rent a golf cart and explore the beaches at Highbourne Cay, which are among the best-kept secrets in The Bahamas. Enjoy lunch at the 5-star Xuma Restaurant before you cruise back to Nassau with plenty of time to enjoy the amenities at the Atlantis Resort .

We cover Nassau through Staniel Cay and return via Eleuthera for a week-long Bahamas yacht charter holiday . However, all our Bahamas yacht charter holidays are fully customizable according to your preferences, weather and sea conditions, and the number of days. Yacht Charter Day 1 – Arrive in Nassau

Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, is usually the best starting point for any Bahamas skippered yacht itinerary as air travel from your source is convenient. Our itinerary starts and ends at Nassau keeping this convenience of air travel in mind. Once you alight and get yourself tucked in in the comforts of the best resort hospitality that Nassau can offer, start with some hobnobbing in the city. Nassau is as crowded as the Bahamas gets.

A vibrant island resort that’s in the heart of the Bahamas, there’s a lot to do and kickstart your holidays here. Do a little jiggy at this entertainment capital of the country while snacking on some local food. Then watch the sunset from your hired yacht while sipping on some locally brewed rum , served the way you like.

This is where things get interesting. Highborne Cay or Highbourne Cay is a private island, inviting you into the vast stretch of the breathtaking Exumas . Interesting because cruise ships and cruises can’t go in, and this is where your tropical Bahamas holiday yacht charter actually begins.

If the dreamy waters of the Nassau beaches weren’t enough, here are some more options of the pristine turquoise along the 3-mile stretch. After mooring at the central marina, walk into the island to explore any of the eight wide beaches on the island for some “me” time. We recommend the pristine East Beach that’s yet untouched by the vagaries of mankind.

However, the best thing to do in Highborne Cay is to take a dive boat and explore the rich coral ecosystem around the Austin Smith shipwreck that rests 60 feet below. It was a 90-foot Bahamian Defense Force patrol vehicle that was decommissioned in 1995. Today, the wreck is a lively example of nature’s power to regrow as you’ll find exotic coral, sponges, and sea fans lining the wreck. Quite an experience if you’re a serious diver.

Just like Highborne Cay, Norman’s Cay is also partly uninhabited . Hence, there is no dearth of beautiful corals and the exotic underwater flora and fauna in the turquoise waters that splash on the resplendent beaches. Walk on the sandy beachfront lined with palm trees and spend the day ambling around.

While Norman’s Cay wears a calm look throughout the year, it’s amusing to note that it was once a haven for drug smugglers and pirates , in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Post the turn of the millennium, when the Bahamas experienced globalization, the cay was bought and turned into a private island. However, it still has a whiff of its olden days with the remains of a mansion and plain wreckage dotting its shallow waters.

Towards the end of your 3 rd day in Bahamian waters, enjoy the stunning scenery and indulge in some local concoctions and aperitifs.

This is the day when you and your Bahamian chartered yacht enter the mid-section of the Exuma stretch. Warderick Wells Cay, officiated in 1958 as a land and sea reserve extending to more than 112,000 acres, still maintains its ecological balance. This is one prime reason why your charter will be piloted with more care. As you can guess, fishing is strictly prohibited .

Despite the ecological boundaries, you can explore much of Warderick Wells on foot. The beaches offer a blend of scenic views and a fresh breeze from the southwest. Its thriving marine life calls for a definite snorkeling dip underwater , which is bound to be one of your best experiences in the Bahamas.

That’s right! A day stop at the Staniel Cay signals one of the most Instagram-worthy experiences of your life: playing with the Bahamas’ famous swimming pigs . We mean, what is a Bahamian holiday without a picture with these permanent residents of the cay, majorly located at the Big Major’s Spot (Pig Island)! There’s also plenty of room (without the pigs) on the waters and the beaches for some kayaking and family picnicking respectively.

Spend your afternoon at the Thunderball Grotto and see if you can guess the spot from not one but two yesteryear James Bond films. Or skip the underwater hike and go swim with the baby sharks near the Staniel Cay marina .

Eleuthera is the last stop in our 6-day Bahamas yacht itinerary and thus comes with an obvious relaxation memo. This is because the cruise from Staniel Cay can take most of the day.

The small island itself located on the easternmost edge of the Bahamas is fascinating, with one side offering blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean for deep sea diving and the other the trademark Exumas sandy beaches with shallow Caribbean waters . But swim or dive, and you are bound to run into the incredible marine life ( mostly turtles ) that’s so omnipresent in these waters you’ll be tempted to stay a bit longer. The Edwin’s Turtle Lake Marine Reserve is one such spot to focus on.

Eleuthera is one of the most underrated islands in the Bahamas and a pit stop is definitely worthwhile. Or say our patrons who prefer to enjoy a laidback evening on the island before heading back to Nassau. There are several resorts for a night-stay or more if you’d like to extend your Bahamas yacht itinerary.

The sail back to Nassau is the longest and can take about 6 hours . But thankfully there’s respite at the end as saying goodbye to the Bahamas and getting ready for your trip back home will be easier. The sail itself will be enthralling as you can sit back and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Bahamas archipelago at a meandering pace.

We recommend spending a few hours post anchor on the island and exploring local delicacies and concoctions. By sundown, head to the airport in a taxi.

Bahamas 8 Day / 7 Night Sample Itinerary for Your Yacht Vacation

These 700 islands are spread out over 100,000 square miles of ocean, creating an archipelago that is home to the clearest water on the planet. Explore the islands, swim in the crystal clear water, and walk on the beautiful white-sand beaches . The Bahamas will quickly win your heart and supply you with lasting memories.

Step on board your luxury crewed yacht waiting for you in one of the marinas upon your arrival from Nassau International Airport . Your crew hands you a local cocktail before a brief orientation on what to expect for your week aboard. Cast off the lines and sail the 30 Nm passage across Yellow Banks, known for the coral heads below the crystal-clear surface. Explore Allen’s Cay where a calm anchorage awaits and you have a chance to mingle with indigenous iguanas which are a subspecies of Bahamian Rock Iguanas. Allen’s Cay is one of the few places where you can still find these interesting gentle creatures, which are protected by law. They are friendly and welcome to visitors, especially if you bring something to eat.

After a short sail to Highbourne Cay, your captain will “drop the hook” in the safe and protected anchorage of Horseshoe Bay. Here you can swim, wade ashore to explore the beach or kayak around the bay. There is a small marina with hammocks on the beach and the hilltop restaurant offers a 360-degree view of the Exuma Sound and nearby cays. Overnight here for a good night’s rest after a full day of activities onboard.

After a delicious breakfast served by your private chef, continue South to your next destination and enjoy some fishing along the way. Once at anchor on the Northside of Norman’s Cay, enjoy snorkeling or diving sites like “Octopus Garden” and “Hammerhead Gulch”. Spectacular beaches and lagoons with colorful fish and coral make this island special. There are also ruins and a sunken plane from the drug smuggling days of famous drug lord Carlos Lehder . Your captain will take you in the tender to explore “Twinkie Beach” with its lone palm tree and is great for shell collecting. For the avid fishermen, there are flats nearby for bonefishing and local guides are available for hire. Enjoy cocktails at sunset and of course the amazing meals served by your chef.

Your next stop is Shroud Cay situated in the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. This larger island offers multiple mangrove rivers which can be cruised by tender, kayak or stand-up paddleboard. Breathtaking beaches on the East side of the island await and the view from “Camp Driftwood” offers spectacular views of the Exuma Sound. Play in the current of the rivers flowing strong with the tides in crystal clear shallow waters or follow the trail across the island with ruins of the plantation from the 1700s. Another stunning beach waits at the end of the trail where you can swim and sunbathe. Spend the night at anchor under the brilliant night sky.

The headquarters of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park is located at Warderick Wells and this is a perfect spot to spend some time in this naturalist’s paradise with surrounding sandbars and turquoise waters and mooring

balls to moor for the night. Stop by the park office for map guides and friendly advice. There are more than 4 miles of trails on this protected island with stunning lookouts along the way. White-tailed tropical birds nest in the bush and look out for the Bahamian Hutia , a large furry animal the size of a small dog. They eat the local vegetation and are harmless. Climb up to Boo Hill and the views from Park Ranger’s porch are unforgettable. Dinghy around to small cays nearby and snorkel, kayak, paddleboard in a very protected bay. Nearby Danger Reef offers Scuba diving to the adventurous looking to get close to ocean sharks and big fish and a little further South lays “ Jeep Reef ” which is a great dive at slack tide exploring the colorful coral heads and the old Jeep sitting on the ocean floor around 40 ft deep.

Compass Cay lay further South with the ancient Lucayan burial grounds of Rocky Dundas caves nearby to the West. Swim into and explore this amazing natural cathedral ceiling where light shines through exposing the fantastic colors of the stalactites and stalagmites along the walls of the grotto. A good time to visit these water caves is at low tide making for easy entrance. On the Northern end of the cay is “ Rachel’s Bubble Bath ”. Here you can soak in a natural whirlpool and can be bubbling or calm depending on the tide and ocean swells. Hike to the East side of the island and see ruins and a beautiful crescent-shaped beach with unspoiled beauty. There is a small fee to swim with the tame nurse sharks here and it is definitely an adventure not to be missed. After a “Burger and Beer” at the little shack in the Marina, sail off to Fowl Cay for another calm anchorage for the night.

Swim with the pigs on the beach of Big Major’s Cay in the morning and watch as they swim out to the dinghy begging for scraps. Chickens can also be found roaming the beach. Motor around to nearby Staniel Cay Yacht Club. Here is another opportunity to observe dozens of Nurse Sharks circling the fish cleaning station while you enjoy some local Conch salad and a cold beer. Explore this beautiful island by golf cart rental or just laze on the beach. Anchor the tender outside the entrance to “Thunderball Cave” where the famous James Bond movie “Thunderball” was filmed in 1965. At slack low tide, swim and snorkel into an aquarium. Colorful fish and coral heads shine in the light beaming from holes in the magnificent ceiling of this grotto. Anchor for the night in the shallow waters near Sampson Cay.

Spend the morning in the calm protected waters near Pipe Cay and Little Pipe Cay before sailing north for a leisurely cruise to your night anchorage either at Highbourne Cay, Norman’s Cay or Allen’s Cay. Look out for Osprey Birds in the indigenous pine trees as they wait to swoop down to catch a fish in the shallow waters. Take a dip at sunset and gaze at the stars enjoying an after-dinner drink.

After one more dip in the turquoise blue waters set sail for Nassau across the Yellow Bank to arrive in the bustling capital, where casino’s with water parks and golf courses are plentiful and stay another night in a hotel in paradise or fly back home after waving farewell to your crew after an unforgettable vacation in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world.

Nassau’s harbor is a bustling hub of international activity, where merchants engage in trade, shoppers hunt for bargains, and the occasional celebrity blends in with the vibrant hustle and bustle. Many 5-star marinas are just a short tender ride away from the airport, extending an invitation to linger and explore the surrounding area. With casinos, bars, and gourmet restaurants, your evenings are packed with entertainment, while your days can be filled with adventure or visits to the local museums.

Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, is a popular starting point for yachting adventures in the beautiful waters of the Bahamas. There are several fantastic yachting itineraries you can consider, depending on your preferences, the duration of your trip, and the stops you’d like to make. Here are a few possible yachting itineraries starting from Nassau:

• From Nassau to Eleuthera
• From Nassau to the Exumas 

1) Week Yacht Charter Itinerary from Nassau to Eleuthera, Harbor and Paradise Islands

Day One – Nassau

You will begin your sailing itinerary from Nassau, Bahamas’ capital, which with nearby Paradise Island, offers 5-star beaches, casinos, boutiques, and luxury resorts.

Here there are plenty of ways to spend your time, whether you just want to relax or you want to discover all that this beautiful location has to offer:

Bay Street is the main street in the city. It is the shopping center, and here you can find the boutiques of the most expensive jewelers, souvenir shops, duty-free liquor, and much more. On the sides of the road, you can see the typical buildings that reflect the style of the ancient British colony.

Fort Fincastle is one of the main places to visit in Nassau. It was built in 1793 using limestone in a strategic position on the top of Bennet hill to protect the historic center of the city and its port. From here, you can enjoy a fantastic view of Paradise Island. You must walk through the famous Queen’s Staircase to reach the fort. It was built together with Fort Fincastle for defensive purposes and has 65 steps. The name was given in memory of Queen Victoria.

Finally, if you want to spend a few hours on the beach, the closest to the center is Junkanoo Beach, also called Western Esplanade. This area connects the two shores of Arawak Cay and Long Wharf. They are the most relative to downtown Nassau and are a few minutes walk from the cruise ship dock. The sand is white and beautiful. However, this country can offer a much better beach and sea.

Day Two – St George’s Cay

You’ll be at St George’s Caye by the second day of your yacht charter itinerary from Nassau. Famous for its lobster, this island is just to the north of Eleuthera. You can explore the Spanish Wells and sample some of the finest cuisines the Bahamas has to offer.

St George’s Cay is just a few hours by boat from New Providence island.

Famous for its lobster, this island is located just north of Eleuthera and is mainly known for the Spanish Wells resort. The isolation, silence, and serenity breathed in these places attract visitors, who also find turquoise waters accompanied by the sound of the light Atlantic surf.

The Spanish Wells is a magical place. Whether you are looking for a relaxing beach or adrenaline-pumping activities, Spanish Wells Bahamas has something for everyone.

Its beaches are beautiful and empty. White and dusty sand, shallow turquoise waters. A safe place for the whole family, perfect to let your loved ones, especially the little ones, have fun in absolute tranquility. Exactly what you want for your beach vacation.

Fishing is also excellent in this area thanks to the great diversity of species that populate the sea. You will have the opportunity to practice different styles, including deep sea fishing, reef fishing, bone fishing, spearfishing, and other variations that suit all your preferences.

Day Three and Four – Eleuthera

At the halfway point of your navigation, your journey comes alive. A short distance from St George’s Cay is Eleuthera and Harbor Island, considered by many to be one of the liveliest and most chic parts of the whole country.

Small Harbor Island is a real gem and a must for tourists and celebrities who choose this area. It is a picturesque island characterized by historic New England-style architecture. Still, it is best known for its beautiful Pink Sand Beach, located along the eastern side of the Atlantic Ocean. The beach stretches for about three miles and is 50 to 100 feet wide. Considered one of the best beaches in the Bahamas, it has been included in The Travel Channel’s Best Beaches in the World segment.

The almost indescribable pale pink color of the sand comes from microscopic coral animals with a bright pink shells. These animals live on the underside of coral reefs, on the seabed, under rocks, and in caves. After the death of the insect, the action of the waves mixes the shell with sand and coral pieces, creating this particular effect. Unlike other parts of the world, the sand here is always fresh so that you can walk freely in bare feet!

Eleuthera is instead a vast expanse of wild beauty. It is the largest island in the area, extending from north to south for kilometers. The Glass Window Bridge will leave you breathless among the many natural wonders it offers its visitors. It is one of the few places in the world where you can compare the rich dark blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean on one side of the road and the tranquil turquoise Eleuthera Bay on the other, separated only by a strip of rock. about 30 feet wide.

The Queen’s Baths (or hot tubs) are located south of the Glass-Window Bridge, on the Atlantic side of the island, and are fabulous natural pools carved by centuries of waves beating on the rock. The best time to visit them is during the low or medium tide.

Day Five – Harbor Island

This day is dedicated to diving. It would be a waste to visit the Bahamas without seeing the wonders that its seabed offers.

Eleuthera and Harbor Island waters count more wrecks than any other island in the Bahamas. What’s more, coral reefs and dive sites are affordable for everyone.

With visibility up to 60 meters deep and waters with the perfect temperature for most of the year, they hardly compare to an ideal diving destination!

Day Six – Surfer’s Beach

Governor’s Harbor is a charming town on Eleuthera and is also home to Surfer’s Beach, one of the best surfing areas worldwide.

If surfing the waves is your thing (even if you’re a novice), put on your gear and head to Surfer’s Beach, where southwestern winds blow from the Atlantic. It is the second-largest beach in the world for surfing, and many experts compare surfing here with the Hawaiian Islands.

Even if you’re less sporty and just want to watch, the two-mile stretch of beach has some of the best sugary white sands in the Bahamas!

Day Seven – Back to Paradise Islands

Bahamas: The Quintessential Sampler

The Bahamas, so many islands, so little time! Every yacht charter we arrange is planned just for you and your guests. There is no fixed itinerary! You'll discuss in the plannning process an outline of what activities your ideal vacation includes and your charter captain will create a draft plan just for you. Don't forget the best secret of private luxury yacht charter - it's your vacation and you can go where you want to in the Bahamas, and stay for however long you like. You'll be dependant only on the weather and where your yacht can safely go.

Enjoy this sampler of where to go to see the highlights of the Bahamas, including brief stops in Eleuthera and the Exumas, beginning in Nassau. This sampler presumes a motor yacht to cover the distances between islands while still allowing time to enjoy.

Welcome aboard! You can arrange to meet your private charter yacht at the famous Atlantis Resort Marina, space allowing, or at Hurricane Hole Marina. This marina is within walking distance of Atlantis and is able to accommodate yachts over 200 feet in length. There is a new alternative at Albany which is easily accessible from the airport. After you settle in, go shopping on Paradise Island, visit the aquarium, or swim with dolphins (ask the captain to make a reservation before you arrive). Hit the casino at night and then rest up for the next day.

Sail to Eleuthera. You will want to dock at Harbour Island, a.k.a. "the new St. Barts." Walk around Dunmore Town and take in the colorful flowers and bright homes. Buildings here date from the 1800s, and many have been wonderfully restored. Eleuthera is known for its pink sand beaches, which you will have to see for yourself. And if you're up for it, this is the perfect place to go scuba diving!

Maybe stay at Eleuthera and take advantage of its varied landscapes. Head inland to see Eleuthera's beautiful hills and valleys; walk towards the coast to see steep cliffs and more breathtaking beaches. Let the crew introduce you to your yacht's water toys or just lounge on deck, enjoying the view of Eleuthera from the water.

Next stop, Exuma Cays. The captain will gladly take your charter yacht to Exuma National Park where you will get to see a range of interesting things. It's a longer trip but worth the visit to Warderick Wells in Exuma Land & Sea Park. Check out Loyalist Ruins (Americans fleeing the Revolutionary War settled here), or ask for guidance from a Park Ranger who will show you the ropes. Follow the trails to find rare plants, dark caves, and other hidden gems. Perhaps end the day with a beach picnic.

Go to Sampson Cay Club & Marina. Dock the yacht and discover the good food and friendly bar behind the Club's stone facade. Then go over to Staniel Cay to see "Thunderball Cave" where the James Bond movie of the same title was filmed.

Sampson Cay and Staniel Cay are a mere yacht tender ride away from each other. Stay in this area another day and relax. Sampson Cay is in a protected area of the island, and Staniel Cay is a great place to watch the sun set. These Out Islands are little treasures midway through the Exumas Cays where you will enjoy tropical peace and tranquility.

From here, sail north to Shroud Cay. Eat lunch on board and then use your yacht's tender to roam the creeks that are here in this northernmost part of the Exuma Land & Sea Park. Lay on the beach! Take a hike. Soak it all up before you go back to Nassau by the end of the day.

Savor your last morning aboard the yacht before you disembark at noon. Take notes on your favorite parts so you know where to start the next time around!

Yacht Charter Itinerary Bahamas

Bahamas Luxury Yacht Charter Day 1:

The Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island  

Today will be your first day on board your home-away-from-home for the next 10-days!  We would like to welcome you and your family on board at the Atlantis Resort,  Paradise Island , Bahamas. After introductions and vessel orientation, take a tour of Atlantis and have lunch aboard the yacht. Today we will make the most of the Atlantis Resort and enjoy the water slides, casino and all of the amenities this awesome resort has to offer!

Bahamas Luxury Yacht Charter Day 2:

This morning we can play golf at the One & Only Ocean Club 18-hole golf course designed by Tom Weiskoph or if a fun adventure off the beaten path is what you are looking for, load up the tender for a fun day at Rose Island. Spend the day snorkeling, kayaking, jet skiing or simply lounging on the private beach. In the evening head back to Nassau where we will make the most of the resort before we depart tomorrow morning for our cruise through the  Exuma Island chain .

Bahamas Luxury Yacht Charter Day 3:

Highbourne Cay  

This afternoon we will depart Paradise Island for our passage to the northern Exuma Islands where we will stop off at Highbourne Cay Marina for the evening. We can spend the afternoon beach combing and playing with the water sports equipment like the tender and JetSki, reef snorkeling or offshore fishing as desired. Tonight we can have dinner on board while anchored out under the tropical stars, or secured at  Highbourne Cay  Marina.

Bahamas Luxury Yacht Charter Day 4:

Staniel Cay/Big Major Island

This morning we can enjoy a swim and beach combing after breakfast before departing for Staniel Cay. We will raise anchor for blue water fishing and have lunch offshore. A stop at Hog Beach,  Big Major Island , is a must to see the famous swimming pigs. Rumor has it that about fifty years ago, a farmer brought some pigs to the island to forage in the wild and serve as the food supply for his family. The farmer is long gone but the pigs remain, swimming into the surf to greet arriving boats and beg for day-old bread.  You may be lucky enough to convince one of the pigs to come swimming with you in the crystal clear water in the cove.  We will only stay here for one night as we’ll stop here again on our way back north.

Bahamas Luxury Yacht Charter Day 5:

George Town, Great Exumas

This morning after breakfast we will make our way to George Town. Here we will spend the day exploring the natural sights, cave diving, snorkeling and shopping at the local market.

Great Exumas

This morning we can enjoy another round of golf at Sandals Emerald Bay Resort, which boasts the Greg Norman designed 18-hole course that is said to use environmentally friendly seashore paspalum grass which offers a lush, deep green canopy.  There are also tennis courts should you be interested, or fitness facilities.  We can stay here another night before we depart back to Staniel Cay.

Staniel Cay

This morning we will make our way back to  Staniel Cay   to enjoy some of the sights we missed the first time round! Staniel Cay is the jewel in the center of the long necklace of Exuma islands stretching for 100 miles southeast of Nassau. Less than a mile square and home to about 100 people, Staniel Cay is the hub for the Pipe Creek area, a group of islands stretching for eight miles north to Compass Cay. Of particular interest is “Thunderball Grotto,” a hollowed-out island where James bond movies “Never Say Never Again” and “Thunderball” as well as “Splash” were filmed. Snorkelers can swim into the natural fish bowl at slack tide and become one with the many varieties of fish. Light streams through the top where rain has eroded natural skylights.  There are several entrances and passageways to explore. Look but don’t touch… Thunderball islands are protected by the Bahamas National Trust. Anglers are treated to some of the best bone fishing flats in the world, (there’s an annual Bone Fishing Festival each summer), while Exuma Sound offers blue water fishing only minutes offshore. Local guides are always available.

Bahamas Luxury Yacht Charter Day 8:

Compass Cay

Today you can enjoy swimming with the nurse sharks – if you dare! Or simply enjoy some of the 13 pristine beaches – collect shells, swim or have a picnic. Visit Rachel’s Bubble Bath, a lagoon on the north end where water breaks over the rocks creating a bubble bath like foam to form. We can settle in for a nice BBQ here. After, you can explore the vast trail system of the island. Venture to the south to the Bat Cave and Low Tide Airport; walk the shoreline of Crescent Beach, one of the world’s finest beaches; take the” jungle walk” to the west or if you are feeling energetic, climb Compass Peek, the highest point of the island at 92 feet, and enjoy the stunning views of the Exumas Land and Sea Park from your  Bahamas yacht charter .

Bahamas Luxury Yacht Charter Day 9:

Warderick Wells

Warderick Wells deserves its place as “most popular cay”. And you will probably remember it as that one particular harbor that you will long to return to, if only in your memories. Over four miles of nature trails on the cay lead to rare plants, caves, wells, and the ruins of a small Loyalist Plantation. Discovery of the ruins lead to a search of the files in the National Archives in Nassau, revealing a land grant given to a family named Davis around 1785. And to preserve its integrity, remember that fishing or taking of any wildlife within park limits is strictly forbidden.

Shroud Cay  

Once we arrive in  Shroud Cay,  take the JetSkis and explore the many miles of crystal clear rivers that loop back and forth through the center of Shroud Cay and discover the lookout atop a hill decorated with flotsam washed ashore.  You can walk the ruins or snorkel over the wrecked plane that was gunned down during an invasion by the US and Bahamian governments.

This morning we will make an early morning departure and cruise back to Nassau and the Atlantis Resort on  Paradise Island . While we hate to see you go, we hope to have you back on board with us again in the near future!

Bahamas Yacht Charter Itinerary

Day 1: In the morning make your way to your Bahamas yacht charter in Haven Marina to meet the crew of the your yacht 12 noon. After getting settled on board you will set sail across the Yellow Banks of the Exuma chain. This will be a 35 mile leisurely sail across the shallow calm waters to the first island of the Exumas, Highbourne Cay. Here your yacht will anchor in a beautiful safe harbor where you can swim, kayak, beach comb or snorkel. For those needing a walk, a trip to the marina via the tender will allow you to explore this cozy turquoise harbor. Cocktails and dinner will be served on board. Day 2: This day will begin with a leisurely breakfast. The crew will then lead a trip further up the chain stopping at Allen’s Cay where the Bahamian Iguanas have made their home after a strong comeback from near extinction. Next we will set sail to Shroud Cay, a 12 mile sail anchoring at the northern end of the Exuma Land and Sea Park. This pristine national park encompasses 30 miles of the Central Exumas’ numerous keys and islands a fantastic place on your Bahamas Yacht charter. Day 3: Further exploration of the park by sail will include a stop at a place called the Rocky Dundas where we will find easy snorkeling access caves of ancient stalactites and stalagmites contained in a natural cathedral ceiling. The anchorage for the night will be at Compass Cay. Day 4: A 10 mile sail will begin the day with the destination of Staniel Cay. This picturesque little settlement is home to the Staniel Cay Yacht Club and the Thunder Ball Grotto, a spectacular snorkeling spot where the James Bond movie, Thunder Ball was filmed. Staniel Cay offers several quaint restaurants and entertainment ashore. Day 5: Today you will sail from Staniel Cay to the little village of Little Farmers Cay, here you will visit the historical Terry Baine's Cabin, and also take advantage of the beautiful views of the Exuma sound or Galliot Cay and the sand bars that stretch for miles on the Great Bahama Bank. Day 6: Today you will head to Sampson Cay and explore the Pipe Creek area. This place is ideal for waterskiing and snorkeling and another fun fill day in the water. Day 7 We begin to head north on the Bahama Banks skirting sandbars and skimming along the clear azure waters. Finding safe harbor at Norman’s Cay, home of McDuff’s cottages, restaurant and resort located on a beautiful leeward white sand beach. Day 8: A nice relaxing Breakfast in Normans Cay enjoying your last refreshing dip in the ocean before packing up and disembarking your Bahamas yacht charter at around 1.30pm for your flight back to Nassau.
