manila yacht club reviews

The Manila Yacht Club , considered to be a social and sporting Mecca, is a members only club. Most of the sailing in Manila is based in MYC. It remains today as the country's premiere Yacht Club , owing to its strong reputation and rich historic past. The Club became a yachting hub in Southeast Asia committed to the promotion of sailing as a sport. The racing season of the Club runs from September through May each year. One of its main events is the President's Cup Regatta which is held usually after Easter. This eagerly anticipated event began in 1993 as the Philippine Easter Regatta. It came to be known as it is today when then President Fidel V. Ramos requested The Manila Yacht Club to hold an international regatta during the APEC Summit held in the country in 1997. From then on, the event was renamed as the President's Cup Regatta. It is a well-publicized and enjoyable sailing competition that gives the Club the opportunity to welcome overseas sailors to our shores and for our local yachtsmen to compete against world-class competitors. The Manila Yacht Club also co-organizes and its members join other major international and Philippine yacht racing events. This includes the China Sea Race began by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in 1962. The other Asia n regattas that MYC sailors join include the King's Cup of Thailand and Rajah Muda of Singapore.

5 Top Yacht Clubs Near Manila

December 18, 2018

Whether you’re exploring islands, swimming in the country’s bluest waters, or simply appreciating one of the world’s most spectacular sunsets, a boat is a luxury worth having. This is especially true if you live and work in Manila, an exciting and vibrant city but also one of the most densely populated cities in the world.

There are a variety of yacht clubs in or near Manila where you can berth your boat or yacht and mingle with fellow sailors and enthusiasts. These are exclusive clubs that cater to your lifestyle, providing services that make your sailing all the more enjoyable and fun. Listed below are the top 5 yacht clubs, in terms of popularity.

Manila Yacht Club (°33.865’N, 120°58.833’E)

One of Asia’s oldest yacht club is located at Manila Bay. This exclusive club can accommodate   larger yachts , and they regularly organize regattas to promote boating culture in the country. One of the major sailing events the club participates in is the President’s Cup Regatta. As a member of the Manila Yacht Club, you get to enjoy exclusive benefits such as sailing lessons and the use of their dining facilities.

Subic Bay Yacht Club (N14° 49.20’ E120° 17.45’)

This marina country club is located north west of Manila at the province of Zambales. It lies in the tranquil Subic Bay with the Zambales Mountain range protecting it from typhoon winds. It’s considered to be one of the safest harbors with serene waters all year long. As one of the biggest marinas in the country, it can safely berth up to 178-foot long yachts. The club offers exclusive accommodations, dining, and other recreational facilities.

Puerto Galera Yacht Club (N13° 30.75’ E120° 57.25’)

Located at the province of Oriental Mindoro, Puerto Galera is one of the nearest vacation destinations from Manila. The yacht club is situated inside a natural typhoon shelter. This makes it one of the safest marinas for your boat, especially with the country’s erratic weather conditions. The yacht club hosts annual regattas that coincide with the country’s different holidays such as the All Souls Regatta and the Christmas/New Year Regatta. In addition, although officially a membership club, PGYC is open to the public and welcomes everyone with an interest in sailing, including beginners and enthusiasts interested in the art of sailing, offering courses on the subject.

Punta Fuego Yacht Club (N14° 07.79’ E120° 35.39’)

Punta Fuego is a relatively new, members-only beach resort located in Nasugbu, Batangas. The resort includes a yacht club with 30 berths and 150 parking spots for trailers. Amenities include a chandlery, fuel station, chart room, lockers, and shower rooms. With a club membership, you will be free to access the resort’s other facilities such as dining, casitas, golf course, spa, and more.

Taal Lake Yacht Club

Situated at the north shore of the famous Taal Lake, you’d have to haul your boat to a trailer to get it into the lake. But all the trouble is worth it for the unique and absolute serenity the place offers. The club provides boat storage for powerboats and sailboats. Although officially a membership club, they are open to the public and offer everyone the chance to experience the sailing lifestyle. The ultimate aim of the club is to promote sailing and sustainable ecotourism in the country.

There are many benefits of joining a yacht club. For one, you can expand your connections and network with influential people from the top rungs of Philippine society. Opportunities could open up for your business, and new friendships could develop from a common interest in sailing and yachting. Next, the expensive membership will “force” you to make time for recreation, leading to a healthier lifestyle and closer family bonds. Finally, you’ll get to learn more about sailing and yachting, which will hopefully inspire you to go on future adventures with your boat.

Whether you’re still going through the process of choosing a boat that you can call your own, or you’re now exploring the many berthing options available to a yacht owner like you, Europa Yachts can help you. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in in Manila. From the lobby interiors, to the room, and even the staff. All worth it. Very accommodating and customer-centric as they delivered a birthday cake to our room because it was a post-birthday staycation, and the front desk even went up our room on our behalf when we forgot something upon check-out. Housekeeping was also very hospitable. They oblige your amenities request, and anything possible in the room. They’re not stingy in terms of toiletries, and bottled waters inside the room, like other hotels are. They have an iPad in each room where you can request for housekeeping, control the AC, TV and lighting, and even check-out. Talk about fast! Breakfast is a wide spread of international cuisine. One of the best I’ve tasted. The fountain show was amazing. The pool, although not that deep, is very relaxing, with the view of Manila Bay on the horizon. Tip: request for a Manila Bay view room. You can relax in the bubble jet overlooking the bay, and watch the sunset without going out of your room. Be sure to ready your cameras!

this was my 5th time at Conrad Manila, but this was the only time I got disappointed. I booked a premier twin room which was paid in advance, when I got in at 4pm, they gave me a premier king size bed room, anyways I insisted on having a twin bed, so after a while, they told me that I can have the premier twin room, but they have to clean it first, and they let us use...

Redeeming factor was the staff who was polite. I just want to say, that Conrad have a reputation, I chose Conrad to stay whenever we visit Manila bec simply they're one of the best, but sadly this happened. Coming from a long drive and the room we were expecting was not ready was just a big disappointment and stress. I just hope that next time we visit, there wouldn't be anymore problems like this.

The rooms are new, modern and very spacious and all the different Food at the Restaurant is also very good. We have been to the philippines many times and we will for sure stay here again next time we are in Manila. With amazing food, new rooms and the best customer service experience the Hyatt city of Dreams is possibly the best Hotel in Manila at the moment. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED :)

The hotel is at an excellent location, the Manila Bay. We stay in a superior room with bay view and the room can have a great scenery towards the Manila Bay and the Manila Yacht Club. Hotel guests can have easy access to the Mall of Asia which take around 5 mins shuttle bus transportation to get there. An excellent hotel with high performance to price ratio.

We booked a city view suite and where upgraded to a bayview prestige suite that had a wow factor. The finish and furnishings where fantastic. Room service food was delicious and quick. Bath water slighty warm but okay. A big stand alone modern tub. Toiletries all top of the range quality. Not a big gambler there are slot machines on the casino reception area but came for the room anyway on route from Boracay onwards. It is very near the domestic airport terminal and only took 25 minutes unlike Pasay Bourges Boulevard hotels where you can get stuck in traffic. This hotel gives you a full personal service maybe a bit over the top with personal contact after booking in. Haven't stayed at some other hotels in Manila yet so will not rush to go back but a first class experience.

Only fair to say that I work for an upscale hotel company with no hotels in Manila, so my critique is with lots of travel experience. Good three star ( almost 4 star) hotel. Only fair to say that I work for an upscale hotel company with no hotels in Manila, so my critique is with lots of travel experience. Good three star ( almost 4 star) hotel. It only lacks an exercise room. Has everything you need to be comfortable. Service was very good.Room was also complete, comfortable, and clean. Worst problem was the restaurant breakfast buffet is set up on tables in the middle of the narrow entrance making it too crowded with guests entering and leaving along with the diners. They could move the food to the rear of the restaurant. Also the breakfast choices were very basic and minimal choices.Coffee was difficult to get and depleted dishes took too long to refill. The food quality and variety was not comparable to other hotels I have stayed at in Manila. The only other minor annoyance was I had to hold up the toilet seat, it wouldn't stay up on its own. Aside from those two minor complaints, the experience was very nice in every other respect. I would stay there again!!!

Rooms are a little bit bigger then in the other Tune Hotels , actually there not yet restaurants in this area but they will soon open there , there is still some construction noise in the Hotel from Morning 10.00-to 04.00pm ....not a big deal . Noise from outside is to hear from the opposite building but it is not a big deal so all in all our stay was OK . Just one think i see when i book this hotel is that the prices are changing very fast . we payed 23 € a night what is OK but now i checked our next dates they ask 46€ and that is too much . there are other Hotels in Manila to book at this price . Also one think tu remind is the problem to get a taxi ....06.oo pm for ex , in the case you must got to the airport d ont leave too late

We had the view of Manila Bay on one side and the Rizal Park and Quirino Grandstand on the other. We caught a glimpse of the fountain show and fireworks at the Manila Ocean Park and the fireworks at MOA. It was just awesome! Thr room itself was just elegant consistent with the classy ambiance of the whole building which is by the way the former Army Navy Club! Staff were very accomodating and the breakfast was good enough to fill me up until lunch time. I was looking for a filipino themed breakfast like the “silogs”, but I got more of Chinese food, which is good anyway. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel for couples, families and even solo travelers.

My staff and I stay at the Microtel certain times of the year- usually Jan and March our events at the Arena. It is the most convenient hotel in terms of price vs. location. Tryp was a refreshing alternative to Microtel. A modern and hip upgrade with the same high quality service Ive come to expect from the Wyndham group. Although I barely stayed in the hotel to enjoy the amenities (the 2nd floor bar has great views of Manila Bay), I appreciated the large room and beds. The parking areas and some hotel interiors are still under construction, though not enough to cause inconveniences. I will definitely consider this hotel next time around. Good Job!

I just got back home from my stay at Crown Towers. I enjoyed everything about the hotel except for one thing; it is a real hassle to get to the casino or the shops, restaurants at City of Dreams. Crown Towers has a Signature Club gaming room ,exclusive to VIP players, which connects very easily to the 1st floor of the casino. However, if you are not a VIP player, you have to take a golf cart aaround the conplex to access the casino or shops. The management should change the policy to allow guests staying at the hotel to at least pass through the Signature Club to get to the main casino. Also, the 2nd floor was blocked off during my stay which made the doubly annoying. Aside from this, I really enjoyed my stay

Location, facilities, service, and food were all great! Didn’t expect it from Hotel Sogo to be honest. It did not look shabby at all compared to other branches. The only con probably is our room didn’t have a fridge and no drinking water was provided. But their room service was quick, and the items were reasonably priced.

The hotel is modern and tidy. The rooms are a bit small, but not cramped. I have been in much smaller hotel rooms. Bathroom was ok, however the water was only luke warm. I did not ask them to fix it. The hotel is modern and tidy. The rooms are a bit small, but not cramped. I have been in much smaller hotel rooms. Bathroom was ok, however the water was only luke warm. I did not ask them to fix it. When we checked in, I explained that I had booked 2 nights, but I would be staying only one night, and the second night my wife would like her friend to stay over for company. Initially, they wanted to charge 1000 Peso, but after a bit of chatting they agreed to waive it. After all, we were not having extra people stay, no additional numbers for breakfast. The one gripe I do have, and hotel please take note: I went to have a drink of water from the supplied water bottles, and it tasted terrible. I looked closer at the bottle and it said "Natural Drinking Water". So that means Tap Water, or water from a well or lake. Now I have drunk tap water in Davao, and its clean and tastes ok, but in Manila?? No way. Bottled water is cheap, so why not just have distilled water?? Surely that is better, and safer for your guests.

Icon Hotel Macapagal

I think Red Planet is the best valued 3 star hotel in this area. Building is still new, rooms are clean and staff are accomodating. What I liked also is the free basement parking.
