Hammer Whitsundays is a large maxi racing yacht fitted with accommodation for guests. Hammer has a mixture of double and single beds situated throughout the boat. These are all shared, dorm-style open-plan rooms. From April to September, the maximum capacity is normally 18 guests, allowing guests to have their beds (single or double). During peak season (October-March), our capacity can reach higher numbers of up to 23 with sharing of double beds. Itineraries are 3 days/2 nights and include visits to the famous Whitehaven Beach, snorkeling over some of the best fringing coral reefs in the world, sunset beach sessions, and chilling in the evening with your fellow shipmates. Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon snacks, dinner, and dessert are included, as well as tea, coffee, and filtered drinking tap water throughout your stay. Hammer is a BYOB vessel (no glass), so guests should bring their alcohol on board if desired.

Tours aboard the Hammer Whitsundays offer up to 5-hours at the famous Whitehaven Beach, allowing ample photo opportunities of the 98% silica sand inlets and dunes, stunning turquoise waters, and Hill Inlet viewpoint. Up to 4 snorkel stops on the fringing reefs are planned for the chance to swim with tropical reef fish and turtles above the colorful reefs. All snorkel equipment and wetsuits are included in the trip. These tours are perfect for adventurous singles, couples, and groups aged 18-45 who are fit and able to move about a boat unassisted. Some under 18s may be accepted on board by request.

Hammer is the ultimate MAXI! This 75ft masterpiece was designed by Kel Steinman and owned and campaigned by Arthur Bloore. Known as an Australian yachting legend, Hammer placed in five consecutive Sydney to Hobart events, including line honours in the 50th Anniversary race.

When there are only two days to experience the marvellous Whitsundays, Hammer’s speed will come in handy! Her crew will skilfully steer her to the most famous Great Barrier Reef Marine Park locations such as the Hill Inlet Lookout and the pristine Whitehaven Beach, and anchor near stunning coral reef like no other.

Hammer Itinerary

Your 3 day 2 night sailing adventure begins promptly at 10:00am from Coral Sea Marina at Airlie Beach to waste no time setting off. Typically you will sail around 90 nautical miles (laymen’s 160kms) around parts of the 74 Whitsunday Islands. Soar across the Whitsunday Passage to Blue Pearl Bay on Hayman Island before skirting the south side of Hook Island, through Hook Passage and on to Cataran Bay on Border Island.

Your senses will be amazed from the morning snorkel but prepare to be astounded by the afternoon activities.

Your friendly crew will sail to the north eastern side of Whitsunday Island for a short guided bushwalk to the popular Hill Inlet Lookout and incredible view of the world-famous Whitehaven Beach. Don’t forget your camera as you won’t want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience! Relax for the evening in a protected anchorage with great food and your new found friends.

In the morning, enjoy an exhilarating MAXI sail along the Eastern coast of Whitsunday Island, through Hook Passage and past the Molle Islands to arrive back in Airlie Beach by the afternoon.

“supplier” means any tour operator or other supplier of the services “you” means the guest booking and person named on this reservation booking “we”, “our” means The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre and A.J.LAURENT PTY LTD These terms and conditions apply to all bookings made through The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre. Placing a booking with The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre and paying a deposit constitute acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Booking Conditions

For bookings made more than 30 days prior to travel, a 25% deposit is due to secure your booking with the balance due 30 days prior to travel. For bookings made within 30 days of travel, the full payment is due immediately to secure your booking. If we do not receive your full payment within 30 days of your travel date and you do not contact us to cancel, your deposit is forfeited and your booking may be automatically cancelled by us, the supplier or both.

Prices are quoted in Australian dollars, inclusive of GST, and all payments must be made in Australian dollars. Your reservation will only be confirmed when funds have been received and are cleared. The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre is not responsible for delays in postal delivery, bank or payment system processing. It is your responsibility to ensure that payments are received within the times specified. If the deposit or final payment is not received by the due date, The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre has the right cancel the booking. If your final payment is not paid by the due date and in any event within 30 days of your departure, we have the right to cancel your booking and retain the deposit in full without any reimbursement to cover our costs and those of any supplier.

Cancellations and Amendments to Bookings

If you wish to cancel or amend any booking made you need to contact us in writing. You can only cancel or amend a confirmed booking by contacting us directly. If you do not contact us to cancel prior to your booking departure date, you may forfeit your deposit and further costs.

Cancellation Charges and Amendment Fees

Any cancellation or amendment made more than 30 days before travel will incur an administration fee of 25% of the total booking fee. All cancellations or amendments made within 30 days of your travel date departure will incur both an administration fee of 25% in addition to the individual supplier’s fees. Any changes requested to your booking, including but not limited to dates, are subject to availability and if they are not available, you may be required to cancel and agree to the cancellation terms. IMPORTANT NOTE: Some services and activities may not permit any refund for certain bookings. You should check with the individual supplier or The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre prior to paying for your booking to confirm any special non-refundable conditions.

Travel Insurance

We recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover your reservation, and valuable items (e.g. cameras). Your travel insurance policy should include coverage to protect against unforeseen and last-minute cancellations or medical conditions that may prevent travel and also to cover any medical emergencies during travel at minimum.

Supplier Tours and Services Changes

In the unlikely case of a vessel break down, maintenance or unavailability, the supplier will supply an alternate vessel of a similar standard and quality. Itineraries may be affected by elements beyond our and the supplier’s control such as wind, tide, rain, storm or other weather conditions which make travel dangerous and require a delay or cancellation. It is the skipper's requirement to ensure passenger safety at all times and may use his/her professional judgment in any manner to keep his/her guests and crew safe. In the instance of such delay or cancellation, alternative options will be provided by the supplier. In the event a cancellation or delay occurs and your tour or service is cancelled and rescheduled, you will receive a full refund if you are unable to rebook your tour or service.

You are using these services and taking any tours at your own risk. We are not responsible for any loss or damage, including direct, indirect or consequential loss you may suffer as a result of your reservation, booking or anything related to your tour or services provided by any supplier. You need to ensure you are medically sound, fit and physically able to use the services. We are not liable for the event that you are refused access to any services or tours due to your medical, physical or other reasons, including intoxication. Any such claims should be addressed to the suppliers directly. You should note that sailing can be a dangerous activity and while crews will make every effort to ensure your safety, they cannot be accountable for actions or injury to you that may be ‘beyond their control’. Every effort is make to ensure your safety and you may be required to complete a pre departure questionnaire, and sign a travel agreement waiver during the check-in process of your tour with the supplier directly. We are not affiliated with nor responsible for our suppliers in any way other than as intermediary to arrange their services on you and their behalf. If you have any issues, injury, suffer any loss or damage, you need to take it up with the supplier directly. If we are obligated to cancel your travel arrangements for any reason, the liability of will be limited to a refund of all monies paid by you.

Prices are based on multi-share accommodation unless otherwise specified. Prices do not include airfares.Cancellations made less than 21 days before departure will result in complete forfeiture of full price. We reserve the right to substitute vessels without notice at any time for any reason. We recommend you take out travel insurance.Clients should note that adventure travel involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard guests, we cannot be responsible for any damage, personal injury or loss due to the actions of passengers that are beyond our control.All cruises are subject to weather and the vessel operator’s discretion. At certain times of year ‘dangerous’ jellyfish inhabit these waters and passengers should take care for their own safety. Passengers entering the water do so at their own risk and the owners or operators of the vessel will not be liable for any personal injury, illness, death or any other consequences whatsoever of passengers being stung by jellyfish. To minimise this risk you will be provided with a full length protective ‘Snorkel Suite’ to wear whilst swimming and snorkelling during the cruise.

• These tours are perfect for adventurous singles, couples and groups normally aged between 18-45. We have no age limit, however you must be ‘young at heart’, fit and able to move about a boat unassisted and understand the adventurous and social nature of our tours. Some under 18’s may be accepted on board by request
• Accommodation is made up of single and double beds in dormitory-style cabins/sections below deck. During peak season (October-March) capacity can reach up to 23 guests onboard (with sharing of double beds). From April-September capacity is normally 18 guests ensuring all guests have their own bed (unless they would like to share a double)
• Departs Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach at 10 am. Returns to the same location on the third day at approximately 3:30 pm
• If Hammer’s departure dates are not desirable, check out  Broomstick and Condor’s availability as these boats run the exact same tour.

Don’t worry, we supply swimming noodles and additional floatation as required. We will do a risk assessment on every guest before entering the water. While in the water the small tender will be relatively close by. We also have staff on look-out duty. In the Whitsundays, the reefs we visit are off the beaches, so it is pretty easy to make way to the beach.

Please note that we will always visit Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet Lookout, bush-walks, multiple snorkelling locations and of course do lots of sailing. - Lots of sailing (hoping there is wind!) - Up to 4 snorkel sites (we choose the best site and timings based on the weather and tides) - Explore the North and possibly the South end of Whitehaven Beach, visiting two different lookouts (Hill Inlet & South Whitehaven) and enjoying all 7km of silica sands - Multiple bush-walk locations ranging from 20 minutes to 3 hours - Sunset beach hangs - In the evenings, chill on deck with our crew and your new mates, have a few drinks, stargaze and then let the calm water gently rock you to sleep.

Check in by 8:00am the day of departure at 350 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach. Meet at Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach by 9:30am, for a 10:00am departure.

The Captain will choose the itinerary to make the most of the conditions and meet the desires of the group. While some of the locations may vary, you can expect:

• Up to five hours at Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet Lookout.
• Bushwalks surrounded by amazing scenery to lookout points for spectacular views
• Snorkelling at four locations to discover the incredible fringing reef and islands of the Great Barrier Reef
• Sunsets on the beach on unspoilt islands

This itinerary will cover around 90km's around the islands in 3 days and 2 nights. Not only will you visit the famous Whitehaven Beach, but you will also get to the northern end of the Whitsundays, where the best fringing coral reefs in the Whitsundays are found around Hayman Island, Langford Reef and Mantaray Bay. Travelling aboard Hammer is also one of the most sustainable ways to explore the Whitsundays as it uses wind power.

The Captain and crew will provide you with plenty of information on the Whitsunday Islands and the Marine Park and you will arrive back to the Marina at 3:30pm on the 3rd day with a better appreciation of the Whitsunday Islands.

Departs: 10:00 am every Tuesday and Saturday.

Hammer Departs from Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach.

Returns: 3.30pm on day 3

Check-in: at the office at 350 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach. Check in is available between 10am - 3pm the day before departure or by 8am the day of departure. The friendly staff will take you through a pre-departure briefing and everything you need to know for the trip.

All travellers are required to reconfirm their travel at least 48 hours before departure.

Most dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice. Please provide any dietary requirements in the notes when you book.

This tour operates out of CORAL SEA MARINA in  AIRLIE BEACH, QLD.

• Meeting point for departure is at Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach (southern end)
• Please meet at 9:30am (30 minutes before your departure time of 10am) @ Coral Sea Marina, Southern End, MEETING POINT C, under the white umbrellas next to Whitsunday JetSki Tours.

What to Bring:

• Small lightweight bags – no suitcases please. You can store luggage at most accommodation locations in Airlie Beach.
• Enough clothes for the duration of your charter, comfortable footwear for bush-walks, swimwear, towel(s), hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, drink bottle (we have a filtered water tap on each boat), something warm (for the winter months) and a light jacket can come in handy (even in the summer months)
• Bring Your Own (BYO) alcohol – no glass or red wine please! We have big eskies with ice to store your drinks in.
• Camera, GoPro, phone (mainly just for photos as you won’t get much reception out there).   
• Your sense of adventure! 

Medication: (If you require to take medication throughout the duration of this tour, please remember to bring this with you. If you deem it necessary, please inform a member of staff, on board your vessel, where within your belongings this can be found).

Seasickness Medication – You may experience seasickness out on the open ocean. We suggest that you should speak with your pharmacist in advance of your trip, to seek their advice on seasickness medication. We will not reschedule bookings or issue refunds for those suffering from seasickness.

Hammer is a 22.5 metre maxi sailing yacht built in 1987 and refitted in 2023. Capable of carry a maximum of 23 passengers and 3 crew on epic over night sailing adventures.

This tour is perfect for adventurous singles, couples and groups normally aged between 18-39 . We have no age limit, however you must be ‘young at heart’, fit and able to move about a boat unassisted and understand the adventurous and social nature of our tours. Some under 18’s may be accepted on board by request.

If you’re keen to explore the famously beautiful sights of Australia’s Whitsunday Islands and have an action-packed, social getaway, this is the experience for you. You’ll kick off day one by meeting your fellow passengers and the three Prosail crew who will be hosting you on board, and set sail from Coral Sea Marina towards the Whitsunday Islands. There is no strict itinerary for your trip, as it will be planned around what your group wants and what the weather conditions and tides permit. But every tour will visit Whitehaven beach, Hill Inlet Lookout, go on bushwalks, check out multiple snorkelling locations and experience the excitement of sailing.  

You could explore both the North and the South end of Whitehaven Beach, soaking up the crystal water, 7km of pristine white shore and sunshine. Visit both Hill Inlet Lookout and South Whitehaven Lookout for the most famous views in the Whitsundays. Plus enjoy sunset beach hangs at amazing locations like Langford Island Sand Spit, Scrubhen Beach (Hook Island) and Chalkie’s Beach (Haslewood Island). 

You’ll have the opportunity to snorkel at up to four of the most beautiful fringe reef spots in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. There are hiking options that range from 20 minutes to three hours, plus opportunities to experience real adventure sailing.

In the evenings, once you’re all beached out, you’ll head to a spot where you can drop anchor for the night, and enjoy drinks and snacks all together as the sun sets.
