Jewel yacht description.

Advertised by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht JEWEL is a 50 ft sailing catamaran. The most valuable elements of JEWEL are her well-chosen interiors and interconnection with the sea. JEWEL spends the summer and winter season in Greece. She was completed by the well-known ship builder Lagoon in 2023. The expansive yacht layout features 6 large cabins and comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests.

JEWEL is introduced primarily as a sailing catamaran. The yacht layout radiates from the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck features a variety of seating areas and usually it where you, as a charter guest, spend most of your time. The tasteful cabins are connected by stairs to the main saloon - roomy, comfortable and pleasant. The cabins offer designer mattrace beds and feature ensuite bathrooms. Multiple portholes connect you with the outside world.

The sailboat features Engines: 2 x YANMAR 4JH80 80HP / Generators: MASSE 1600S, Silenced version (Max power 15.3kw, Cont. Power: 13.9kw) engines and a generator.

Captain: George Iliopoulos

CAPTAIN: George Iliopoulos George Iliopoulos was born and raised in Athens, Greece in 1992. He studied Computer Science & Business Research at Athens university of Economics and Business which is considered the premier University in the field of Economics & Business in Greece. Aside from his native language, Greek, he is a fluent speaker in English and French. Since an early age he has been travelling with his family throughout the Aegean and the Ionian sea with monohull and catamaran yachts. George has obtained the International sailing license since 2000 and from that moment on his passion for travelling in the sea only deepened. Each year he has been sailing in the Greek waters either with friends or as a skipper with people who wanted to experience the beauty of our country. George has participated in a charity sailing race in the Aegean in 2016 and positioned himself in the 1st place. He has also received the international speed boat operator license. In terms of his sailing experience, George has visited all the main islands of Greece more than once, getting acquainted with itineraries, points of interest and weather conditions, therefore becoming a trustworthy Skipper that you can rely on, regarding the arrangement of your trip. In addition to his experience, he has also sailed from northern France to Greece with a catamaran Yacht all over the Alboran and Mediterranean Sea, a trip of 2.600 miles in total. George’s excellent communicational skills and his love for children make everyone feel safe and secure on the boat and it also creates an exceptional bonding between the crew and the customers. This is one of the main reasons why George has been receiving excellent feedback from our customers. Finally, he has also received first aid training courses from Red Cross Organization to have the knowledge and, more importantly the confidence to deal with emergency situations that may affect a child or an adult on board. He is not a smoker. CHEF/HOSTESS: Melina Chroni Melina was born in Athens in 1997, when she was 2 years old her family moved to a summerhouse next to the sea and by the age of 11 she started sailing courses. After graduating from school she studied 2 years in a Culinary Arts College followed by 2.5 years of experience working in restaurants. She then decided she wanted to combine her two passions and has been working on board charter yachts as a Chef Hostess for the past 4 years. She loves hosting guests from all around the world and putting a smile on their faces with her meals. She believes "Love travels through the stomach" and promises to make your vacation unforgettable!. Her experience so far has given her strong organizational skills that benefit her on a busy charter. Her guests describe her as a very polite and generous person. She speaks Greek, English and French.

He studied Computer Science & Business Research at Athens university of Economics and Business which is considered the premier University in the field of Economics & Business in Greece. Aside from his native language, Greek, he is a fluent speaker in English and French. <br /> Since an early age he has been travelling with his family throughout the Aegean and the Ionian sea with monohull and catamaran yachts. <br /> George has obtained the International sailing license since 2000 and from that moment on his passion for travelling in the sea only deepened.<br /> Each year he has been sailing in the Greek waters either with friends or as a skipper with people who wanted to experience the beauty of our country. <br /> George has participated in a charity sailing race in the Aegean in 2016 and positioned himself in the 1st place. He has also received the international speed boat operator license. In terms of his sailing experience, George has visited all the main islands of Greece more than once, getting acquainted with itineraries, points of interest and weather conditions, therefore becoming a trustworthy Skipper that you can rely on, regarding the arrangement of your trip. In addition to his experience, he has also sailed from northern France to Greece with a catamaran Yacht all over the Alboran and Mediterranean Sea, a trip of 2.600 miles in total. <br /> George’s excellent communicational skills and his love for children make everyone feel safe and secure on the boat and it also creates an exceptional bonding between the crew and the customers. This is one of the main reasons why George has been receiving excellent feedback from our customers.<br /> Finally, he has also received first aid training courses from Red Cross Organization to have the knowledge and, more importantly the confidence to deal with emergency situations that may affect a child or an adult on board. He is not a smoker.<br /> <br /> CHEF/HOSTESS: Melina Chroni<br /> Melina was born in Athens in 1997, when she was 2 years old her family moved to a summerhouse next to the sea and by the age of 11 she started sailing courses. After graduating from school she studied 2 years in a Culinary Arts College followed by 2.5 years of experience working in restaurants. She then decided she wanted to combine her two passions and has been working on board charter yachts as a Chef Hostess for the past 4 years. She loves hosting guests from all around the world and putting a smile on their faces with her meals. She believes "Love travels through the stomach" and promises to make your vacation unforgettable!. Her experience so far has given her strong organizational skills that benefit her on a busy charter. Her guests describe her as a very polite and generous person. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). At Clemente Bar, a Love Story Between Chef and Artist

The acclaimed Italian painter Francesco Clemente had always wanted to have a drink named after him (the Bellini , after all, is a homage to the Italian Renaissance painter Giovanni Bellini). Mr. Clemente, now 72 and based in New York City since 1981, is getting a whole bar named after him.

Clemente Bar, which will open on Oct. 10 on the floor above Eleven Madison Park and begin accepting reservations in mid-September, is the next step in the evolution of Daniel Humm’s world-renowned restaurant to plant-based dining. Mr. Clemente has made several dreamlike paintings with amorous figures to set the mood at Mr. Humm’s new jewel-box space, serving innovative cocktails and snacks; an eight-seat chef’s counter will offer a vegan, faster-paced (and more gently priced) counterpoint to the $365-a-head prix fixe tasting menu downstairs.

“When Eleven Madison started with this plant-based chapter, we realized our audience is changing — it’s much more diverse, it’s much younger,” said Mr. Humm, 47, who reopened the restaurant in 2021 with an entirely plant-based menu after a pandemic closing. It was the first vegan restaurant to receive three Michelin stars.

The idea for the bar grew out of the close friendship between the chef and the artist, who were introduced several years ago by the art dealer Vito Schnabel. In conversations over the past two years, Mr. Humm shared his idea to create a more casual, accessible experience upstairs, in the former private dining space overlooking the main dining room. “We still believe so much in the craft of cooking and bringing it to a certain level,” Mr. Humm said, “but wanted to do it in an environment that felt cool and personal.”

The two men share a love of Kronenhalle Bar, in Zurich , the city where Mr. Humm grew up, and which Mr. Clemente frequented in his formative years with his Swiss art dealer. That dark, sumptuous space, studded with artworks by Miro, Picasso and Klee, became a key reference for Clemente Bar. (Mr. Humm sent his architect and interior designer for the project, Brad Cloepfil of Allied Works , to Zurich for inspiration.)

At Clemente Bar, two dramatic 17-foot-long murals by Mr. Clemente, both in palettes of rust, black and gold, fill the width of the room and face off across Mr. Cloepfil’s wood-paneled interior with plush, low-slung seating and lounge tables. In the painting behind the bar, a giant wave crashes over a lyrical figure taking the bait of a fisherman poised on the rim of a small boat, with lovers entwined inside.

“Drowning in a sea of love is drowning in the sea of love, you know?” Mr. Clemente said playfully. In the facing mural over the banquette, a festive parade of figures and creatures progresses toward the foot of a giant and scales a ladder to the unknown. “There’s a procession toward bliss,” said the artist, who rose to fame in the 1980s with surreal, allegorical works that helped reinvigorate figurative painting. (An exhibition of his new work will open at Lévy Gorvy Dayan in New York on Oct. 29.)

Mr. Humm said he was “ecstatic” with the results. “The one thing we said we wanted it to be is a place of joy, of people coming together,” said Mr. Humm, who gave the artist no other parameters. The chef likes that people will read different meanings in the paintings as they enjoy inventive cocktails, such as “5th Leaf” with Suyo quebranta pisco, smoked sunchoke, pear and shiso, and plant-based versions of finger food including tempura fries, sake pickles and an agedashi tofu dog.

On the domed ceiling at the top of the stairs to the second floor, Mr. Clemente has painted a tree of life, with branching figures “interacting with each other in sometimes naughty ways,” he said, describing it as the “invite” to Clemente Bar. It is the first place his work will be on permanent public view in his adopted hometown.

“Daniel loves New York and I love New York because it is a living city,” Mr. Clemente said. “And in a living city, the bar is definitely a place for community, no?”
