Sanlorenzo Delivers Second 57Steel Superyacht, VIRTUOSITY

28 August 2023

Sanlorenzo has officially announced the delivery of the second hull in their 57Steel series, named Virtuosity. Sold in 2021, Virtuosity boats a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. Virtuosity will be making her world debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2023.

Designed inside and out by Zuccon International Project, the 57Steel features a 1,000 gross tons (GT) interior spread across five decks, which is twice the volume of its predecessor, the 52Steel.

The Sanlorenzo 57Steel can accommodate as many as 12 guests onboard, with room for a crew of up to 12 members. Featuring a full-beam VIP stateroom situated on the main deck forward, the superyacht exhibits floating luxury. A key feature of the Virtuosity yacht is her 54 square-metre owner’s quarters which houses its own private deck. The owner’s quarters open out to a small glass-fronted pool located forward on the upper deck, providing direct access from the master suite.

Virtuosity's stand-out feature is her 110-square-metre beach area, illuminated by the glass-bottomed swimming pool and designed with opening hatches on three sides that, when unfolded, become small beaches on the water’s edge. Her glass-bottomed pool also allows for a plethora of natural light to pour into the garage space below. The strategic placement of the garage at the bow enables the accommodation of tenders up to 7.5 metres, in addition to a variety of water toys.

With three more units under construction – two of which will be delivered in 2024 – the 57Steel aims to be one of the new stars of the Sanlorenzo range.

Bold character, clean, elegant lines with contemporary features define Virtuosity, the second unit in the 57Steel line, a perfect balance between content and container. An example of Sanlorenzo’s ability to constantly explore new concepts of liveability on board, always keeping an eye on the future and the changing needs of owners.

who owns the super yacht virtuosity

Virtuosity, a 56.70-metre superyacht with a tonnage of 1021 GT, was conceived as an ambitious project to combine technological development, passion and design vision. The result bears the signature of Studio Zuccon International Project for the exterior design and Piero Lissoni for the interiors, assisted by the Sanlorenzo SY Style Centre. Thanks to its extraordinary proportions, Virtuosity offers generous living and functional spaces for a superyacht of this size: the layout enhances the operational and living spaces and places the wheelhouse on the Bridge Deck, enabling the Upper Deck to be dedicated entirely to the owner

who owns the super yacht virtuosity

The star of the outdoor area aft of the Main Deck is the custom glass-bottomed pool that creates unusual plays of shades and shadows in the Beach Area of the Lower Deck. From the sunbathing area, one passes immediately into the main salon through a cocktail transition area. Within, the design is distinguished by the use of sinuous shapes, creating a cosy atmosphere. The salon, the ultimate expression of liveability and transformability, has a double-sided sofa at its centre: on one side living space, on the other a living area that can be converted into dining. Full-height windows emphasise the increasingly sought-after and desired connection with the outdoors, in a unique entity in which the differentiation between indoors and outdoors becomes indistinguishable. Another element that defines the uniqueness of this project is the resin floor, a new material for yachting, the realisation of which required modifications to the traditional production process.

Passing into the Lobby, Piero Lissoni’s design becomes sculptural: an imposing central staircase defined by soft curves connects all the decks. The ceiling above the staircase is made of transparent glass, a skylight from which light creates plays of shades and colours. The contribution of Sanlorenzo’s Art Director is clearly visible in the choice of interior furnishings, characterised by neutral tones and natural materials.

The Virtuosity’s large volume allowed Sanlorenzo to further develop the boat’s layout, creating two owner’s cabins, one full beam in the Main Deck and one in the Upper Deck.

Aft of the Upper Deck, an outdoor area is dedicated to enjoying moments of relaxation and conviviality in the open air, with sun loungers and a dining area where the eye-catching feature is a bespoke table designed by Piero Lissoni generously proportioned, featuring a marble top and sculptural carbon fibre base. On the Upper Deck is the second salon, accessed through a customised, curved sliding door. The special feature of the space are the full-height windows, which provide total transparency in which vertical surfaces seem to vanish. The exclusivity of the deck dedicated to the owner is accentuated by the presence of privacy gates on the sides that restrict access to the owner alone so that he can enjoy the liveability of his quarters and the private swimming pool in the bow.

who owns the super yacht virtuosity

While the Bridge Deck retains all the traditional characteristics of a more technical space, it is reinterpreted with additional functionality and ample space for guests. The outdoor area houses a living and dining space, while the innovative element is to be found in the interior, which is reinterpreted in a contemporary way: it can function either as a DJ area, with a table concealing the music equipment, or as an intimate space for conversation in total privacy.

who owns the super yacht virtuosity

The Lower Deck, entirely dedicated to guests, has two generous, subtly different VIP cabins, one with walk-in wardrobes and one with external wardrobes, and two Guest Cabins featuring single beds that can be converted into doubles.

Virtuosity’s Beach Area is the space dedicated par excellence to multiple leisure activities. The area, which can be enlarged thanks to the side and aft platforms that unfold, for a total of 150 square metres, hosts the Gym, a customised hammam, a sauna and a wet bar. The whole area is enriched by the natural light filtering through the glass floor to conceal the Main Deck pool.

A new proposition from the Maison that represents an innovation in design and use of materials, with a fresh and modern approach that stands out from traditional boat standards.

New interior images of 57m Sanlorenzo superyacht Virtuosity revealed

New interior pictures of the second 57Steel motor yacht Virtuosity have been revealed by Fraser , her central agency for charter.

The 56.5-metre superyacht debuted at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show and is the second unit in Sanlorenzo 's 57Steel series. The line has proved popular for the Italian yard so far with a total of four units sold and a fifth hull being built on speculation, according to BOATPro .

The line offers double the interior volume of its predecessor, the 52Steel, while maintaining signature Sanlorenzo features such as the glass-bottomed pool, which measures four metres in length on this model. Transparent panels in the floor send light into the 110 square metre beach club below, which benefits from a trio of fold-out sea terraces that create a liveable waterfront lounge with a TV, sofa set-up and bar complete with fridge and ice-maker.

Directly aft of the beach club is a spa zone, which is home to a Hammam, sauna and gym equipment.

The yacht's exterior is by Zuccon International Project , while interiors come courtesy of Lissoni . The design duo previously paired up on another of Sanlorenzo's projects: the SP110, which was nominated for a Neptune at the 2023 World Superyacht Awards .

Elements of this design can be seen in Virtuosity. The 1,0121 steel-and-aluminium model has the same cool, contemporary interiors with a pared-back theme and architectural touches like the central staircase.

Brokerage firm Fraser sold the yacht in 2021 and went on to oversee the construction and offer her for private yacht charters . On board highlights include a DJ booth in the bridge, plus an intimate  "cocktail area" on the main deck.

Fraser describes the yacht as a "floating sanctuary" with no shortage of amenities and an accommodation configuration that comprises six cabins for a total of 12 guests. The owner's suite covers 54 square metres and is finished with an en suite, walk-in wardrobe and small study area and also has access to a private foredeck with Jacuzzi dip pool.

Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, Virtuosity can reach a top speed of 16.5 knots with a cruising speed of 13 knots. She has a 10.9-metre beam and complement for a crew of 12.

She charters from €400,000 per week plus expenses.

From swimming pools and helicopter pads to on-board cinemas and spas, the sky is the limit when it comes to customizing a superyacht.

The more amenities a superyacht has, the more expensive it will be.

Finally, customization is another major factor that will drive up the cost of a superyacht.

Many luxury vessels have custom-designed interiors that are tailored to the owners tastes.

From custom furniture and artwork to lighting and audio systems, the cost of a superyacht can quickly escalate depending on the level of customization.

In short, the cost of a superyacht can vary widely depending on its size, amenities, and customization.

While some may be able to get away with spending a few million dollars, others may end up spending hundreds of millions of dollars on their dream yacht.

No matter what your budget is, its important to do your research and find out exactly what youre getting for your money before signing on the dotted line.

Keeping Superyachts Out of the Public Eye

When it comes to owning a superyacht, some owners prefer to keep their vessels out of the public eye.

Understandably, these individuals are concerned with privacy and discretion, and therefore tend to take measures to ensure their yachts are not visible to outsiders.

For instance, some superyacht owners opt to keep their vessels in private marinas, away from the public areas of larger ports.

Additionally, some yacht owners may choose to hire security guards to patrol and protect their vessels while they are moored or sailing.

In addition to physical security, some superyacht owners also use technology to keep their vessels out of the public eye.

For example, a yacht owner may choose to install a satellite-based communications system that allows them to keep their vessel completely off-radar.

This system works by bouncing signals off satellites rather than transmitting them, making it virtually impossible for anyone to track the yachts movements.

Finally, some superyacht owners also choose to limit the number of people who have access to their vessels.

For instance, the owner may only allow family members and close friends to board the yacht.

Additionally, the owner may choose to employ a limited number of staff to help maintain the vessel and keep it running smoothly.

These individuals may be required to sign non-disclosure agreements to ensure they do not disclose any information about the yacht or its owner.

Overall, while some superyacht owners may choose to keep their vessels out of the public eye, there are still plenty of other ways to show off the opulence associated with owning a superyacht.

From swimming pools and helicopter pads to on-board cinemas and spas, there are many luxurious amenities that can make a superyacht the envy of any jet setter.

Final Thoughts

Superyachts are a symbol of luxury and status, and the list of yacht owners reads like a who’s who of billionaires.

From the Emir of Qatar’s world-record breaking $400 million yacht to Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s vessel with a helicopter pad and on-board spa, the amenities of these luxury vessels are truly stunning.

With prices ranging from $30 million to over $400 million, owning a superyacht is an expensive endeavor.

Whether you’re looking to purchase one or just curious to learn more about the owners and their amenities, this guide will provide you with all the information you need to stay up to date with the superyacht scene.
