Propulsion System

Their new hybrid propulsion system, which was conceived exclusively for the FB272 Giga yacht, employs a responsible energy approach as it drastically decreases fuel consumption over the life of the yacht. This particular propulsion package included diesel-electric engines with two Azipods propulsion units powered by a battery pack. The Azipod units are even able to rotate 360-degrees and achieve better fuel efficiency than conventional propulsion systems.

CLASSIC 40M BENETTI Motor yacht for sale

A handsome yacht with a first-class pedigree, CLASSIC 40M BENETTI is a 39.5m (129.5ft) tri-deck motor yacht constructed in steel with aluminium superstructure and delivered by the renowned Italian shipyard in 1970. Her long-standing owner has kept a tight maintenance schedule, ensuring that each winter the yacht is refitted and refurbished as needed.

Exterior design details include a graceful sheer line and bow profile, a classic canoe stern, full walkaround sidedecks on two levels and traditional varnished teak capping rails. Covered companionways on the main deck feature Benetti’s signature sculpted mullions.

The sun deck has L-shaped sofa seating and a huge expanse of sunpads with partial shade from a fixed awning and exercise equipment forward either side of the funnel. There is another large sunpad forward on the bridge deck and steps down to cushioned seats overlooking the foredeck.

She has a spacious bridge deck aft with shaded open-air dining beneath the sun deck overhang and a sun lounge with a sofa, armchairs and a coffee table opposite two sun loungers. There’s a sociable seating area aft that serves as a second open-air dining option with a U-shaped banquette, folding armchairs, a large high-gloss varnished table and a folding canvas bimini.

The main deck aft has four large rattan armchairs around a coffee table in ample shade. Inside, her interior decor is traditional, with finely crafted features. The main deck saloon has a large lounge area aft with L-shaped sofas and two armchairs and forward is the formal dining area with an eight-seat table. The sky lounge has a large sofa facing aft, looking through double doors opening onto the upper aft deck.

Welcoming up to eight guests in four cabins with seven crew, CLASSIC 40M BENETTI offers 267GT of internal volume. The guest accommodation is arranged across two decks. The owner’s suite is forward on the main deck, has an office desk and a 10sqm (108sqft) walk-in wardrobe. The en suite has a bathtub as well as a shower. The other guest cabins are on the lower deck, comprising a full-beam VIP double forward and two twin cabins that each have extra pullman berths.

This twin-screw yacht is powered by twin 624hp Caterpillar diesel engines with low engine hours. Her top speed is 13.7kts and she cruises at 11.5kts with a maximum range of 3,600nm.

Italian megayacht-builder Benetti crafts custom and semi-custom steel-and-aluminum yachts 93 feet to more than 213 feet (28 meters to more than 65 meters) in length under out of its Viareggio, Fano, and Livorno shipyards. Founder Paolo Vitelli started the company in Turin in 1969 as a sailboat charter company named Azimut . In 1977, the company produced what at the time was the smallest yacht, the AZ 32-foot Targa, considered to be the Model T of the marine industry. Azimut took over the Fratelli Benetti boatyard in Viareggio in 1985, creating the Azimut Benetti Group, which has continued to expand into all things nautical, including, most recently, marinas.

Another large accomplishment is the 230-foot (70-meter) steel-and-aluminum Luxury Yacht FREEDOM (ex. REVERIE) . She features a top speed of 16 knots and a range of 5,200 nautical miles at 12 knots. Yacht FREEDOM is powered by two CAT 3516 engines. John Munford designed the sumptuous interior, which accommodates 26 guests and 29 crew. Stefano Natucci penned the exterior styling and concept.

Benetti Yacht LUMIERE

Luxury mega yacht LUMIERE (ex Cuor di Leone,  Lionheart ) is a 164-foot (50-meter) luxury superyacht. Benetti yacht LUMIERE accommodates 12 guests and 12 crew in a light and bright interior, which was designed by Stefano Natucci, who also created the exterior. The steel-and-aluminum yacht achieves a top speed of 18.5 knots and a cruise of 16.5, thanks to two MTU diesel engines. Yacht LUMIERE boasts a range of 3,800 nautical miles.

Benetti Yacht DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER

Mega-Yacht DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER was sold by Worth Avenue Yachts in December of 2013.

The 200-foot (60.95-meter) 2012 Mega Yacht DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER  showcases an interior stemming from the collaboration between owner John Staluppi and London-based designer Evan K. Marshall. Six staterooms—including two masters—sleep 12 guests, plus the yacht houses 15 crew. An elevator services all five decks. Two Caterpillar engines propel the full-displacement steel-and-aluminum yacht to a 16-knot top speed and a cruising speed of 15 knots. Traveling at 12 knots gives Benetti Yacht DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER a range of 4,800 nautical miles. A flotilla of tenders and toys complete the package.

Benetti Yacht BLAKE

On May 26th in Viareggio, Italy the shipyard launched their longest GRP hull and aluminum superstructure yacht ever. M/Y BLAKE is a 50-meter fully custom mega yacht. The Benetti Custom FB803 Project Blake is the third hull of this series featuring Benetti exteriors and Bannenberg & Rowel interiors. Sisterships for the 50m yacht BLAKE are the FB801 VICA and FB802 ZAZOU.

History of Benetti Yachts

Since 1873 Benetti has stood for Italian shipbuilding excellence producing more than 300 boats and more than 50 superyachts, including a handful of giga-yachts larger than 330 feet (100m). Originally crafting commercial sailing vessels out of wood, Benetti recognized the potential of composite material for yacht production in the 1960s and transitioned to strong steel and aluminum to build full-custom displacement and semi-displacement motor yachts ranging in size from 90 (28m) to more than 330 feet (100m). Azimut Spa acquired Benetti luxury yacht builder in 1985, adding the traditional, experienced builder into the ultra-modern, technologically advanced Azimut Benetti Group.

Benetti is headquartered in Viareggio, Italy, as are its two main shipyards: Darsena Lucca and Darsena Italia. A third yard, located close by, assembles Class Range yachts ranging from 93 to 145 feet (28m to 44m) in length. Benetti’s modernized boatyard in Livorno covers 200,000-square-meters, produces 12 custom mega yachts at a time, offers superyacht repair services and is the timeliest refit center in the Mediterranean. Its 34,000-square-meter Fano facility specializes in molding and laminating yachts.

Benetti new construction yachts adhere to the Benetti Quality System, which comprises specialists who perform more than 1,000 quality inspection checks and tests on every yacht, following the most stringent safety and technical standards. Benetti’s architects, engineers, designers and project managers boast fanatical attention to detail and an obsession with quality to produce iconic Italian luxury yachts, such as the custom VICA FB801.

Benetti has been recognized as world leaders for building Custom Mega Yachts for the past decade having won several awards, including the ShowBoats International award for “First Custom Mega Yacht Builder larger than 80 feet.”

Benetti continues to think ahead with its BEST concept, which integrates all onboard electronics, an integrated bridge system (which reduces the number of necessary navigation panels), a diesel-electric propulsion system and more.

The Benetti Yacht Fleet

Northrop & Johnson offers a wide range of Benetti yachts for sale, including wholly custom superyachts built in steel and aluminum and composite semi-custom full and fast displacement series motor yachts. There are dozens of Benetti yachts for sale and more than 30 boats and superyachts under construction at its facilities, including a few very large vessels.

Aside from the three 350-foot (107m) launches in 2019, notable yacht builds by Benetti include the 295-foot (90m) LIONHEART, the 282-foot (86m) NABILA, the 282-foot (86m) KINGDOM 5KR, and the 230-foot (70m) REVERIE. As of 2019, the Italian shipyard has delivered 46 custom superyachts larger than 165 feet (50m) and has six additional 165-foot-plus (50m-plus) yachts currently in build. Some of the custom superyachts are built in a semi-custom steel and aluminum series that share a common platform, ranging from 164 (50m) up to 240 feet (73m). This allows the Italian builders to offer a semi-custom package based on a common technical platform and thus avoiding expensive delays while still allowing ample opportunities for customization.

Benetti’s composite semi-custom models range from 100-feet – 145-feet (30m – 45m) and include the Delfino 95 (28.95m), the Mediterraneo 116 (35.3m), the Benetti Classic 121 (36.9m), the Fast 125 (38m), the Classic Supreme 132 (40m), the Crystal 140 (42m) and the Veloce 140 (42m).

NEXT CHAPTER provides six luxurious staterooms for up to 13 guests. Her main deck, full beam, split level Master ensuite with panoramic views, observation area and private study is one of the many highlights of NEXT CHAPTER. Her VIP ensuite is located on the bridge deck followed by two queen staterooms, two twin staterooms, and one pullman bed as required on the lower deck. All staterooms are equipped with iPad and Plex television, offering Satellite TV. Entering the stunning master ensuite, you walk through the private study then to the master stateroom passing the King bed that faces the TV in a central cabinet. The stairs leading to the observation lounge has white marble columns with braided rope paneling. His and her ensuites have jet tubs and glass showers. The VIP ensuite is located on the bridge deck near the sky lounge. The ensuite is shared with the sky lounge and has breathtaking shower views. Décor in the accommodation is just as palatial as the social areas, with all new bed linen, beautiful joinery, high ceilings and ample space for storage. The sky lounge area is used as the family television/game area. With two long couches to port in white plus four bucket chairs to starboard around an ottoman, it’s a comfortable place to relax in the evening. A Scrabble table with upholstered chairs is to starboard. The room has light brown mahogany paneling, white ceiling indentation with indirect lighting. The sky lounge opens onto an enormous bridge aft deck with a long varnished dining table that can seat up to 12 guests. Two L-shaped settees are in blue.
