• Parties go on through the night in some of the biggest hotspots, especially on the popular beaches in the south, such as Super Paradise Beach, and probably best avoided if you are hoping to get some sleep.
• The Meltemi winds can blow very strongly, especially throughout August, which also happens to be Greece’s peak charter months. Possibly look to book in the shoulder months when the temperatures are equally agreeable but far less windy.
• Little Venice can get quite busy during summer, especially late afternoons when tourists file in to have a drink and watch the sunset. This is also true of the world-famous hilltop windmills around Mykonos Town, so be sure to arrive before the rush to secure a good spot.
• All the cobbled streets in Mykonos Town are pedestrian-only, which can prove an issue for some with limited mobility. 
• When visiting Mykonos’ religious sites, it is advisable to dress respectfully. 

Due to the huge popularity of yacht charters around the Cyclades archipelago, we strongly advise booking well in advance of your planned Mykonos yacht charter to ensure you get the perfect vessel for your selected dates. If you leave it too late, the selection of yachts at your disposal will be reduced and you may not be able to explore the destinations you have your heart set on. But when booking do keep in mind the costs that aren't included in the base rate, namely VAT and the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance). The APA is usually paid in advance of the charter and is commonly set at 30% of the charter fee. This allowance covers expenses such as fuel, berthing, food and drinks, as well as any special requests.

Windmills : A mainstay in the landscape of Mykonos, the windmills can be seen from any spot on the island. More than 100 years old, these windmills do not work today; however, they still stand as a symbol of Mykonos ’ agricultural and productive past. Built at different times over the years, between the 14th and 17th centuries, today, the Church of Panagia Paraportiani is one of the most photographed churches from around the world.

Yacht Charter Mykonos

Mykonos is probably the most famous of all Greek islands and a travel and sailing mecca. Mykonos Town, or Hora, is the islands port and capital. In many ways a typical Cycladic village its winding alleys are maze-like and it is easy, and enjoyable, to get lost in them. Despite the crowds, Mykonos Town has a distinct charm and a quintessential Greek atmosphere. The white-washed houses like cubes lining the bay contrast exquisitely with the bluest sea.

The centre of the city is pedestrianised during most of the day which makes wandering the streets pleasant. A number of trendy cafes, chic boutiques, souvenir shops and jewellery stores are scattered across the town, offering great shopping opportunities.

The famous whitewashed windmills, trademark of the island, stand to attention on a hill overlooking the city, from where the views are spectacular. Below the windmills is Little Venice, a celebrated area and one of the most beautiful parts of the capital.

Mykonos is also something of a clubbing mecca, so be prepared for loud music and all-night revelries.

Mykonos Marina, known locally as the New Port, is a partly finished marina situated about 2km north of Mykonos Town. It provides good shelter from the prevailing winds and is quiet. The best anchorages, for sailing yachts , are on Mykonos’s south coast.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.
