Trilogy is owned by the Coon Family. They have shaped Maui sea activities into what it represents today. Since founded, Trilogy has expanded its offering to include just about everything you can imagine. From whale watches, Lanai and Molokini snorkeling , and Maui sunset cruises , Trilogy has an adventure for everyone. Trilogy Excursions regularly gives back to our local Maui County community. Each year they sponsor events on Lanai and Maui for the less fortunate and ocean clean up. Through the years they have demonstrated a standard of excellence that few other companies can live up to.

During the whale-watching season, Trilogy will lower its sails to provide a Maui whale-watching tour for its passengers. The whale watching season on Maui runs from December 15th to April 15th. It’s a treat to be out on the water during sunset and have a whale watch at the same time. The photos are priceless!

Your tour starts with a continental breakfast of Mom Coon’s 4 th generation cinnamon rolls and chilled tropical fruit cup, complimented with Kona coffee, hot tea, hot cocoa, POG or pineapple juice.

AFTER SNORKELING

For lunch*, enjoy our savory shoyu chicken, spring mix salad with Mom Coon’s famous dressing, rice pilaf and soft Hawaiian sweet rolls. Our food is always served–we don’t do buffet lines, paper plates, or plastic silverware aboard our first-class boats!

THE REEFS OF WEST MAUI

The bays of Honoapi’ilani offer some of the best snorkeling on Maui! Our Captain will choose the preferred snorkeling destination for that day, (most often Honolua Bay), which allows our guests to truly enjoy the most ideal conditions & visibility that West Maui has to offer. You might find yourself swimming among the fish and honu (Hawaiian sea turtle) in the coves of Honolua, enjoying the crystal clear waters at Cliff House, or even snorkeling the expansive Olowalu reef – Maui’s “mother reef”!

* Most common in the Winter months, a North swell can cause large surf at Honolua and Slaughterhouse. On “big surf” days our Captain’s will choose the best and safest snorkeling site for the group; 2 snorkel locations are not guaranteed on days with high surf

SNUBA UPGRADE

For an up close & personal look at Maui’s marine wildlife, we also offer an optional SNUBA upgrade for any guest 8yrs and older (space is limited). SNUBA is a safe and exciting way to explore Maui’s underwater ecosystem, allowing you to breathe underwater through a mouthpiece and an air hose that is connected to a tank sitting in a raft on the surface. **NOTE** If at check-in, surf conditions are deemed dangerous, guests can expect to walk 10-15 minutes north on the beach walk to a safer boarding area. Check-in location will not change.

We will be loading from the beach, you can expect to get wet up to your knees when you board. Please watch the short Beach Loading video below, taken on a small surf day. This tour is NOT recommended for guests with mobility issues. Please consider a tour with a Maalaea Harbor departure.

KA'ANAPALI BEACH LOADING

This excursion loads directly from the sands of world-famous Ka’anapali Beach, and you WILL get wet when loading. Please watch this quick video showing our beach-loading process during small shore break. Please keep in mind that beach loading conditions vary and requires a certain level of physical fitness. Guests with injuries or disabilities which impede mobility may find beach loading too difficult or strenuous on higher surf days. It is recommended that guests with mobility issues and parents with small infants , book one of our many tours departing from the Lahaina Harbor.

Description

Teralani Snorkel Sail charters offers daily tours that depart directly from Kaanapali Beach on one of their beautiful 65' x 35' sailing catamarans with a covered salon and bar, indoor and outdoor seating, two spacious restrooms and fresh water showers. The tours are limited to 49 persons (although the capacity is 125)...so there is plenty of room to stretch out and relax.

Your experience begins with barefoot beach loading from Kaanapali Beach. You will likely get your feet wet ... depending on the surf maybe ankle deep or even knee deep water as you appoach the boarding steps located between the hulls of the catamaran. As the boat departs you will enjoy breakfast -- Maui Mango Muffins, Breakfast Burritos, coffee and juices.

The experienced captains will take you to the best snorkeling spots (locations vary depending on weather and sea conditions and the time of year). Kaanapali's best-featured snorkel trip takes you to two different sites per trip. Destinations typically include Honolua Bay in the summer months and Olowalu in the winter months. The captain chooses the spots based upon ocean conditions and the best snorkeling visibility. While you explore the amazing underwater world, the friendly crew prepares your lunch and the tour turns to pure relaxation. Lunch menu is Shredded Chipotle Chicken in Pita Bread, Vegan Pita Wraps, All Beef Hotdogs (with condiments), potato chips, gourmet chocolate chip cookies and a full open bar including beer, wine, mai tais, etc after snorkeling. The bar opens and you sit back and enjoy the views as you sail back along the scenic west Maui coast to Ka'anapali.

What to Wear: Wear swimsuits and bring a towel and sunscreen. We also recommend a light jacket.

Reservations: Advanced reservations required and we recommend booking this a month or more before your arrival. This event is "RESERVE NOW PAY LATER"; we need a credit card on file to finalize your reservation but we do not charge you for this reservation until a few days before the beginning of your vacation!

Minimum Notice for Cancellations / Changes: At least 48 hours before the start of the event. All tours go out rain or shine.

Restrictions: This activity is not accessible by wheelchair or walker. This is a barefoot cruise, and participants walk across the sand and sometimes get their feet wet while boarding. Guests 21 and over need to bring a valid photo ID to drink alcoholic beverages.

Teralani has a fleet of THREE beautiful sailing catamarans that are all 65' in length. Teralani III was built in 2005 and is meticulously maintained. Teralani IV (built in 2019) and Teralani V (built in 2020) are among the newest boats on the island. All offer a quality premium snorkeling experience on Maui's west side. Capacity on these boats is 49, which is less than half of the people you'll find on most of the Molokini snorkel tours. People also appreciate the mid-morning check-in times ... this is a good choice for people who don't want to get up at 6am every day on their vacation. In the summer the primary destination is typically Honolua Bay, a FANTASTIC spot to snorkel and a difficult spot to reach if you don't go on a boat. Some of the best coral in Hawaii is found here, and lots of fish and turtles. In the wintertime Honolua Bay isn't available as a snorkel destination ... winter swells make Honolua Bay a surfer's paradise but those waves make snorkeling impossible. In the wintertime the destination is the south shore of the West Maui Mountains ... the added bonus during this time of year is the numerous whale sightings on the way. There is some excellent reef about half a mile offshore from Olowalu, and while this is a popular place to snorkel from shore, it is too far out to swim to the really good reef where Teralani snorkels.

Teralani boats pull right up onto Kaanapali Beach for boarding ... you take your shoes off and walk across the sand to get on the boat. You will likely get your feet wet as the first step onboard will either be on wet sand or in a few inches of water (you could even get splashed up to your knees if a wave hits while you are boarding). Occasionally we have someone who just can't load this way ... if that's the case consider doing a Lanai trip with Paragon Sailing instead which loads from the main loading dock of Lahaina Harbor.

Gemini is now open for tours 7 days a week and currently in our famous whale season. We are running our regular Snorkel Sail Adventure as well as two Whale Watches (AM & PM) per day at reduced capacity to ensure proper social distancing. Just returned from Maui. Family and I did a Friday night sunset cruise. Highly recommend this trip. Capt. Phil and crew are top notch. They work hard to make sure you have fun. Great food and drink, whale watching and great views. The crew was very careful loading and unloading passengers at the start and end of the trip. Overall a great time. If you want to sail with a competent and caring crew, then Sea Maui is the place to be.

I had the joy of going on a Sea Maui trip. The boat was large and the vibe the crew had was amazing. The crew and management at Sea Maui always go above and beyond to make sure their patrons have the best experience possible. KAANAPALI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Four people were injured Tuesday after a commercial catamaran ran aground in waters off West Maui.

Emergency crews responded to Kaanapali Beach around 7:15 p.m.

MFD said 53 people, including 49 passengers and four crew members, were still on the vessel when firefighters arrived.

Four people sustained injuries, but two were taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

The extent of their injuries is unclear.

Officials said crews were unable to free the catamaran and turned over the scene to DLNR.

An investigation is ongoing.

The insane jet boat ride is an absolute must. We had the best time on this trip. We didn't want it to end. Started the ride alongside a pod of spinner dolphins. I had never been so close to dolphins in my life and there were over a hundred of them surrounding the boat and jumping in the air. The boat goes very fast and it's a great ride for thrill seekers. You will get soaked and expect saltwater to hit your face. It's not for the faint of heart. Dave also made the trip informative and taught us a lot of new information about Hawaii. It's a fun ride and a good family activity. Kids that love amusement parks would love this ride.

Kaanapali Ocean Adventures is THE BEST! My husband and I planned a family trip to Maui and wanted to plan one group excursion. From the first phone call to KOA, I knew our snorkeling outing to Lanai was going to be fun. From the moment our party of 9 arrived on the beach at Kaanapali and boarded the vessel, until the moment we returned to shore, we experienced one of the best outings of our lives! Spinner dolphins and out-of this world snorkeling in the clearest water ever! And to top it off, capt Dan found a mama whale and her calf for us to enjoy. Unbelievable. Best trip ever!

My family and I had SO MUCH fun on this excursion, and the guides were very friendly and insightful from beginning to end (despite the amount of rowdy children that accompanied us on the boat). They provided reef-safe sunscreen, snacks, drinks, music, and snorkeling gear to everybody which I also thought was nice. Out on the water I saw AT LEAST 5 sea turtles, a needle fish, and SO MANY COLORFUL FISH swimming around! Even if I didn't see as much of the marine life as I did, I would still rate this trip a 10/10 because of how organized, professional, and welcoming everyone was. Would definitely recommend!!

I have been on three adventures with Captain Dan and the crew at Kaanapali Ocean Adventures. Each time was memorable and different. This last time the captain made a game day decision to take us to Molokai because of the outstanding weather. It was truly a once in a lifetime magical experience! Kaanapali Ocean Adventure with Captain Dan and his crew, Marisa, was an unforgettable experience! We met them at 7 AM at Whalers Cove, and they took my family of 10 out for the adventure of a lifetime. Captain Dan went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience, even searching for the clearest water for snorkeling. We were new to snorkeling, and it was absolutely mind-blowing! We were also lucky enough to spot a small pod of spinner dolphins, and Captain Dan took extra time to follow them, making sure everyone had a chance to see. My family members said it was the highlight of our entire trip to Maui.

What really impressed us was that they were planning to dry dock the boat but were willing to take it out on late notice to accommodate our family’s vacation timeline. Marisa was incredible in the water, diving down to point out amazing fish, swimming ahead to navigate, and guiding the ‘extra adventurous’ ones in our group back to safer waters. Captain Dan and Marisa also provided fresh fruit, donuts, croissants, and drinks (BYOB 😜). The ride was smooth, the scenery stunning, and the whole experience was epic. Two Firefighters Injured In Fire At Brown's Point Marina

Two firefighters were injured and three boats were destroyed after an explosion at a marina in Keyport, officials said.

The first call for the fire at Brown's Point Marina came in just after 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, a Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson said. One firefighter was brought to a hospital with minor injuries and released, while the other was treated at the scene.

The U.S. Coast Guard, New York City Fire Department (FDNY), the New Jersey State Police's marine unit, and several fire departments also responded. The pier suffered minor damage and the scene was cleared by around 6:30 p.m.

According to its website, Brown's Point Marina is a full-service boat storage facility on West Front Street that was renovated in 2021. The marina on the Raritan Bay is about a quarter-mile west of Keyport Waterfront Park.

This was the third fire at a New Jersey marina in less than three weeks. Four marina employees suffered smoke inhalation after flames broke out on a roughly 42-foot boat in Wildwood on Thursday, Aug. 22.

Two people were injured during a boat explosion at Raritan Marina in the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge on Wednesday, Aug. 28. A 57-year-old man from Old Bridge was airlifted with burns to his face and legs after the explosion launched him into the water.

The investigation was ongoing but the fire didn't appear to be suspicious, the prosecutor's office spokesperson said.

USS Albuquerque to Set Sail for Tingley Beach

The City along with the U.S. Navy, the Navy League New Mexico Council, and other partners unveiled a draft concept plan for a USS Albuquerque memorial to kick off Navy Week in Albuquerque. Named after the city, the USS Albuquerque is a nuclear submarine decommissioned in 2017. The sail from the USS vessel, which is currently in three pieces, was recently moved from storage at Kirtland Air Force Base to Pascetti Steel, where it will be restored and prepared for reassembly. The City has developed a draft concept plan to build the USS Albuquerque memorial at Tingley Beach. “My piece of this was commanding Albuquerque from 2002 to 2005,” said Admiral Stuart Munsch . “We were known back then for our competency, innovation, and our toughness and I’d like to think that we took that from the character of the City, here in Albuquerque.” The draft concept plan for the USS Albuquerque memorial, prepared by PLAND Collaborative, proposes to install the sail in the western-most pond at Tingley Beach. The sail will be framed with bow and stern (rudder) indicators to depict the full length of the sub, and a simulated bow wave will create action/movement. The site plan also includes plazas that will depict the sub’s service in the five oceans of the world, educational exhibits, parking lot improvements, and a restroom. The estimated cost of the entire project is $5.4 million. “It’s a fitting that Albuquerque will be the final harbor for this historic sub, with a memorial honoring this vessel and the crews who sailed in its 34 years of service,” said Mayor Tim Keller . “This project has been years in the making and is a testament to this city’s commitment to honoring our veterans and preserving our history for future generations.” “As the 47th state, landlocked with no navigable water path to the ocean, it is pretty cool that New Mexico has such a robust representation with US Naval history, almost thirty naval ships, boats, and tugs have linkage to our state,” said Historian and Navy League of the US New Mexico Council member Greg Trapp . “It is appropriate for the City of Albuquerque to showcase New Mexico's continued devotion to the US Navy by creating the USS Albuquerque Memorial, with the USS Albuquerque sail as the centerpiece.” The Navy League New Mexico Council will be showing off their scale model of the USS Albuquerque and exhibiting the draft site concept plan at the New Mexico State Fair this week. The metal restoration work on the sail by Pascetti Steel will take several months. Over the next few weeks, the City will solicit public input on the draft concept plan, which will include meetings with nearby neighborhoods and other stakeholders. Construction to start on $12.5 million Boat Harbour Beach area revitalisation

Two major infrastructure projects worth a combined $17.5 million are set to get the green light from the Waratah-Wynyard Council in its upcoming September meeting.

The projects include the long-awaited redevelopment of Boat Harbour Beach and the first steps towards a new childcare facility in Wynyard.

The Boat Harbour Beach Master Plan, first adopted in 2019 after extensive community consultation, will soon enter the construction phase.

The $12.5 million project will deliver a modern community facility featuring new club rooms and operational spaces for the Surf Life Saving Club, a café and upgraded public amenities.

It will also see improvements to roads, car parking and the foreshore, creating landscaped areas and play spaces.

Mayor Mary Duniam said the redevelopment is an important milestone for the region.

“This is one of our flagship projects for the year and it will transform this iconic part of our community,” she said.

“The new Surf Life Saving Club, café and enhanced public spaces will not only improve amenities for local residents and visitors but will also provide a place where community groups can continue to thrive.”

Construction is set to begin this summer and is hoped to be completed by mid-March 2026.

In Wynyard, the council will move forward and award a tender for design and permits for a new childcare facility.

The new centre will replace the existing Warawyn Childcare Centre and incorporate outside school hours care services at a single location on George/Gibbons Street.

It will initially accommodate 80 children, with room for future expansion to 120 places.

Mayor Duniam said access to quality childcare is crucial for working families and the new facility will help meet the growing demand in the community.

“It will also create new job opportunities, with at least six additional full-time positions to be filled,” she said.

“This project will not only benefit local families but will also support the wider economy by enabling parents to return to the workforce when they’re ready.”

The facility will be part of the Wynyard Education Precinct, located near Table Cape Primary School and Wynyard High School.

Design and permits are expected to be achieved in the 2024/25 financial year with construction expected to commence in late 2025.
