Fraser Yachts signs performance sailing yacht Drumfire for sale

Notable news from Thorsten Giesbert at Fraser Yachts that he's listed for sale the 24m aluminium performance sailing yacht Drumfire .

Designed by Andre Hoek, she was built by Dutch specialist yard Bloemsma and launched in 2006, and she underwent a refit in 2012. She features a classic two cockpit layout, offering space and privacy for owners and guests – especially when moored stern-to. The aft cockpit is dedicated to steering and sailing gear while further forward the centre cockpit is intended for socialising. Below, a timeless interior design has panelling throughout in semi-gloss Swetenia mahogany and flooring in jetobo with maple inlays.

Accommodation is for up to seven guests in three staterooms consisting of an owner's cabin aft with a double berth to port and a single berth to starboard. There are also two guest cabins forward of the saloon, one with a full double berth and one with upper and lower berths. All cabins have en suite bathroom facilities. Under power, a single 185hp Perkins Sabre engine gives her a range of 1,000 nautical miles.

The winner of the 2011 Palma Superyacht Cup, Drumfire is asking €2.4 million with VAT paid.

The Owner and crew of 24m Hoek Design sailing yacht Drumfire were crowned Overall Winner of the 2011 Superyacht Cup in Palma. A spectacular prize giving ceremony at the Es Baluard Museum overlooking the Bay of Palma marked the end of the 16th edition of the popular superyacht regatta.

After showing an early dominance in the regatta with two wins over the first two days, the crew of S/Y Drumfire took to their stride on Day 3 having to settle for second position in the final race behind fellow Hoek Design , the 43m sailing yacht This Is Us . But on overall points, Drumfire’s convincing wins on Day 1 and 2 were enough to clinch the overall prize 7 points ahead of 24m Heartbeat.

The crew were awarded the famous ‘Big Bent Cleat’, the perpetual trophy of the Superyacht Cup since the start of the event.
