Work in Progress

History of sessa marine.

The birth and the history of Italian excellence in the yacht world: Sessa Marine company. Dynamism and innovation, design and technology, style and quality: these are the exclusive features.

The history of Sessa Marine is a perfect example of the Italian entrepreneurial culture, where entrepreneurship and technological approach allowed the company to achieve excellence. Recognized for features such as dynamism and innovation, Sessa Marine conceives and realizes exclusive boats that combine design and technology, quality and style, without ever losing sight of its ultimate goal: producing "emotions" to anyone owning a Sessa Marine Yacht.

Since the beginning

Since the beginning

Sessa was founded in 1958 and the company was one of the first industry in Italy for the production of fenolic and poliester resin.

In 1968 the company enters into the marine industry with the first participation at the Genoa bot show and the beginning of a production diversification for the reinforced plastics.

The 70s years marked the production of small boats in Sessa Aurunca (South of Italy) factory and the construction of a new small shipyard in Cinisello Balsamo (North of Italy).

In 1972 the factory in Arcone near Milan was purchased and in 1973 , Sessa is the first Italian company to install the new Piaggio jets and to build the first small inboard jet units.

In 1986 the company moved from Arcore to Lesmo (Milan) and two days later the boat production was transferred to the province of Bergamo, thanks to the acquisition of Fyberstamp.

At this time, Fyberstamp was building boats wellknown all over the world like Riva and Ferretti.

It is from this moment that the production of the new range of boats begins and the brand turn decisively towards new horizons and bigger market objectives. It begins to build larger boats and starts to dedicate space to marketing activities and to product’s improvement.

Historical models from the 80s such as Mambo, Samba and Sunshine have been replaced by the new Key Largo, Oyster and Key West ranges.

In 1992 Fyberstamp merged with Sessa, founding Sessa Marine Spa , the company that we know nowadays. Lesmo plant closed in order to concentrate all the efforts to Cividate Shipyard that was modernized and increased in size in 1999 with the development of moulding and assembly department.

Meet the next generation of Italian yacht owners, builders and designers

Allegra Bassani Antivari

Photography: Jonathan Glynn-Smith; Styling: Fiona Rubie & Stefano Ricci Team; Words: Risa Merl

2018 saw the last edition of the World Superyacht Awards to be held in Florence. To marked the occasion we dressed the next generation of Italian superyacht owners , designers and builders in the finest Italian style and asked them what they think the future holds for the industry...

Simplicity is the epitome of Italian style and Italy wouldn’t be what it is if we didn’t have the sea surrounding us, almost like an island. We need to find new solutions in yachting, including new hull shapes for motor yachts, better connectivity on board and increased environmental awareness all round – including better education for those who enter the yachting industry, beyond their passion for the sea.

Stefano de Vivo

I’ve been taken on sailboats or a RIB – anything that floats – since I was a baby. Then I started sailing and became an instructor by the time I was 14 and later studied naval architecture. Yachting has more or less stayed the same for the last 50 years – prioritising comfort at sea – but now people are using their yachts differently. Why work in an office when you can do it on a yacht in a beautiful place and then get off and explore?

Everything is pointing to more efficient ways of doing things – optimising. Not just fuel, but also in volumes and the way space is designed. In Italy, our history, present and future have always been about design art. In general, the purchase of yachts is still very emotional, and that’s not going to change.

My first time on a sailboat was before I was one year old, and since then I have spent at least one month every year on a boat. Yachting has inspired my work as a fashion designer – a yacht has pure and elegant lines, yet intricate and advanced structures and technologies. Italians blend beauty and functionality by using an intelligent design and taking a user-centred focus.

Sustainability is important to tomorrow’s yacht owner, which I find inspiring. I design jewellery using leather remnants from the luxury fashion industry. We need to explore ways of being more eco-friendly and up-cycling in yacht building as well. Tech is the future. The yacht industry will innovate its technology offering, while maintaining its heritage. As my father always says, “We [ Nautor’s Swan ] always look for evolution and not revolution. The innovation is welcome, but only when it is well tested and safe for sailing.”

I discovered yachting during my studies and soon understood my real passion was to design boats. Italians are surrounded by beauty: in landscapes, cities, fashion and food. The mix of tradition and invention – this is what modern yacht owners really want. Yachts need to tell a story, whether it’s a personal story or a design story. In 20 years from now, Italian-built yachts will be more sculptural, sleek and high-tech.

Frederico Fiorentino

My father has always been a boating enthusiast. He took me to the Genoa boat show at age five, and I decided from an early age I wanted to design boats. What makes Italians so stylish? The Renaissance, of course!

Innovation will come in the form of electronics, propulsion and hull design. If you look at pioneer yachts like Adler ( Baglietto 1987) or Blue Eyes (now Blue East , Baglietto 2004) you realise that 15 to 20-year-old lines are still a strong reference today. Lower running costs, bigger interior spaces and glass, glass, glass – that is the view of tomorrow. Plus more refits.

Cecilia Virone

I’m a passionate cruising and racing sailor and watersports lover, and I have a degree in yacht and powercraft design from Southampton Solent University. Italian yacht building is becoming more client-focused, rather than product-oriented. As a direct result, semi-custom and custom building are becoming more popular. Tomorrow’s yacht owner wants high-quality products, both in terms of performance and craftsmanship. They will look for outstanding customer care service throughout their lifetime.

Eco-friendly solutions, informed by technology, will direct the industry in the future. The yacht industry needs to blend more design from the luxury world, in particular automotive, real estate and private jets.

Nicolò Piredda

I grew up in Sardinia sailing on small dinghies and fell in love with design at an early age – I have just combined my passions. Italians love the sea – we learn to smell the sea and hear the sound of the waves before anything else.

Tomorrow’s owner wants tailor-made solutions for each situation. The new designers will design customisable spaces – multifunctional areas able to change the intended use at any moment. Flexibility between in and outdoor, privacy and opening, ushering in a new era of “custom”. The future is about the domotics (smart home) revolution, as well as more glass and open spaces. We will speak and interact with the yacht as we already do with our phones in easier onboard controls.

Claudio Corvino

I am a sailor, and yachting and the sea is a passion as well as my job – I couldn’t live without being surrounded by boats. Flexibility and ease – these are the things that tomorrow’s owner focuses on. They want to get rid of the problems connected to yacht ownership. Clients have less time to use the boats than in the past, so this time has to be spent in the best way.

Yachts should not look like floating real estate. Tech and design will always get updated but design must not lose its soul. The super sailing yacht market is a big opportunity – being a sailor, I hope that it will develop. We need new products and designs to meet the needs of a new generation of owners.

Italians pay particular attention to style – it’s in our DNA, it’s part of our history, heritage, culture and tradition. We will see a huge improvement in efficiency over the next two decades, thanks to technological advances. Consequently, Italian yards will arrive closer to the quality of northern European shipyards. I’d love to find more solutions for transparency – for invisible portholes and radar domes.

The Best Luxury Yacht Builders in the World

With build times of around four years, it pays to know which shipbuilder is best for your dream superyacht.

By Kim Ayling

Black pearl - Hybrid superyacht

The superyacht industry has refound its mojo. Following the turbulence of the pandemic, yacht builders have resumed business as usual. Following recent growth in the UHNW population, order books remain full. New superyachts are rolling off the production line at an impressive rate of knots. If you’re considering a new superyacht now, you’ll be waiting over three years to take delivery of a ground-up build. Go with one of the leading yacht builders in the world, though, and it’ll be worth the wait.

This list of luxury yacht builders not only looks at what they have done in the past but also celebrates the stellar efforts they are making to reduce the environmental impact of their products. From lighter materials and onboard energy solutions to hybrid motors and marine conservation funding, these luxury yacht builders are not only leading the superyacht industry’s future but also protecting the oceans.

feadship project 817 superyacht

Recognized as a world leader in building pure custom yachts, Feadship has been in pursuit of building the perfect ship since its inception in 1949 – although the brand can trace its roots back another 100 years. With each new ship that Feadship builds, its team employs the most cutting-edge methods and materials available, which when paired with its unpromising attitude toward fulfilling its clients’ desires, promises to deliver some of the most technically advanced yachts in the world – including Project 817 , which has now been delivered as Viva.

Viva remains a groundbreaking yacht build, with Feadship revealing ambitious aims to keep her environmental impact as low as possible. The 308-ft eco-friendly yacht features an advanced hybrid propulsion system that allows the yacht to travel at 12 knots on diesel-electric power. The ship’s hull has been designed with efficiency as a priority to reduce the energy needed to travel through the water.

The Dutch company has locations throughout The Netherlands, with its headquarters and design and engineering center found in the northern city of Haarlem.

oceanco yacht builders esquel project on water

Dutch yacht building outfit Oceanco was initially founded in 1987 – but it was only in 2002 (when Oceanco found itself in the hands of new owners) that the switch was made to focusing on 260-foot plus superyachts, drawing on old-world Dutch craftsmanship to build the yachts of the future. The award-winning company prides itself on its design-led builds, and in addition to employing its own forward-thinking design team, works with industry-leader designers such as Andrew Winch, Terence Disdale and Sam Sorgiovanni.

Environmental awareness is core to each Oceanco project, with the aim of not only meeting but surpassing environmental legislation with each build. Even its largest yacht to date – the 394-foot Redentore, which is still under construction – is impressively efficient thanks to her hybrid propulsions system, which keeps fuel consumption to a minimum. Other noteworthy Oceanco’s builds are the striking three-masted Black Pearl , which is powered by a combination of wind power and electric propulsion motors, and one of its latest concepts, Esquel  – an advanced expedition vessel.

Most notably, Oceanco delivered the world’s largest sailing yacht, Koru , to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The colossal 417-ft vessel cost a rumored $500m to build and was delivered in 2023. It has since been spotted in Italy, Florida and the South of France. Perhaps more impressive than the yacht itself is the support vessel (built by Damen Yachting), a 250-ft superyacht-in-its-own-right capable of carrying a wealth of billionaire toys including submersibles, helicopters and cars.

Electra Superyacht

Dutch luxury shipbuilder Heesen has received worldwide recognition for its engineering and design prowess since launching in 1978. Heesen proudly pioneers the use of aluminum, which is widely regarded as the premium yacht-building material thanks to its lightness owing to better efficiency. As well as full custom builds, Heesen offers a platform concept that features semi-custom yachts already under construction in order to dramatically cut down delivery waits, without compromising on quality.

One of Heesen’s most notable yachts is Alive, which was the first to feature the revolutionary Hull Vane technology (underwater foil) for greater efficiency and speed, resulting in up to 30% less fuel consumption than a regular yacht. Other celebrated Heesen’s builds are Home and Electra , delivered in 2017 and 2020 respectively, both of which were in the award-winning 5000 FHDF aluminum hybrid class and came as a result of Heesen’s strive to limit the environmental impact of yachting.

luminosity yacht benetti

Part of the Azimut-Benetti Group, Benetti Yachts can trace its shipbuilding heritage all the way back to 1873 when the Fratelli Benetti shipyard was founded in the Tuscan city of Viareggio – the center of classic Italian shipbuilding. While much has changed in Benetti’s near 150-year lifetime, its focus on building state-of-the-art yachts to impeccably high standards has not, cementing its status as one of the best luxury yacht builders in the world.

As concerns on the environmental impact of private yachts have grown over time, Benetti has adapted its methods accordingly, utilizing hybrid technology to ensure its ships are at the forefront of sustainability. For example, when the Luminosity was first delivered in 2019 she was hailed as one of the greenest superyachts on the sea. The 352-foot yacht features advanced diesel-electric hybrid power, with her powerful battery providing up to 12 silent and emission-free hours at anchor.

Of course, sustainability doesn’t come at the cost of style: the Luminosity features a stunningly designed interior courtesy of Zaniz Jakubowski, with full-length windows drawing the outside in, and tasteful nods to contemporary artists creating a true home away from home.

Europe rules the roost when it comes to the top yacht builders in the world – the fifth in our list hails from Germany, with eight yards dotted throughout the country including main sites in Bremen, Hamburg and Rensburg. As with most yacht building companies, Lürssen is family run having been first founded in 1870 by Friedrick Lürssen. Since then the company has developed an esteemed reputation as one of the best in the world, breaking many records along the way, including the longest yacht in the world with Azza in 2015, which measures 592 feet, and Flying Fox which is the largest superyacht available for charter.

Lürssen’s latest superyacht is the sizeable 465.5-foot Nord (previously called Project Opus). Nord transcends the typical design of a superyacht thanks to the work of Italian design studio Nuvolari-Lenard, which was responsible for the yacht’s striking interior and exterior.

As is becoming standard for leading yacht builders, Lürssen is acutely aware of the negative environmental impact of both building and owning yachts. It is taking appropriate action to help mitigate this damage, including providing significant funding to marine life charities and conservation projects and implementing pioneering technologies such as onboard compact silencers and hybrid motor concepts.

Royal Huisman

Ethereal yacht by royal huisman

With a history that dates back to 1884, Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman proudly stakes a claim as one of the oldest yacht builders in the world. While the company was originally founded to build modest wooden fishing boats, its operations have deftly grown with the times, and Royal Huisman is now responsible for some of the finest and most luxurious yachts cruising the ocean today.

Although best known for its stunning sailing yachts ( Sea Eagle II, Ethereal  and  Aquarius  are particular knock-outs) Royal Huisman has also successfully branched out into the world of motor yachts. Its most recent build is the 192-ft Phi,  which was delivered in 2021. This super-slick aluminum yacht has space for up to 12 guests and since her maiden voyage, has been seen cruising on the Thames through London’s financial district. An apt setting for a yacht of this caliber.

Damen Yachting

damen yachting amels 60 on the water

Damen Yachting, which falls under the umbrella of the wider Damen Shipyards Group, is another Dutch yacht builder dominating the world stage. Operating as Damen’s building division, Damen Yachting was only formed in its existing state in 2019 and is now responsible for the building of the famous Amels yachts, as well as the SeaXplorer expedition ships and yacht support vessels. Since moving its Amels building operations to Vlissingen in 2003, Damen Shipyards proudly boasts the largest superyacht facility in the Netherlands.

As a company of this magnitude, Damen Yachting naturally has some impressive builds under its belt, including the newest in the Limited Editions semi-custom range: the Amels 60 . Currently under construction with an estimated delivery of 2022, the 197-foot Amels 60  uses a fuel-efficient hybrid propulsions system to slash emissions, cut noise pollution and minimize fuel and maintenance costs.

Italian-born Sanlorenzo is continuously regarded as being among the best in class when it comes to yacht builders and has been the recipient of numerous awards in its near-65 year lifetime. Despite Sanlorenzo’s longevity and established status, it remains a truly boutique luxury yacht builder at heart. To ensure the attention to detail and high quality for which it is famous for, as well as securing exclusivity for its clients, Sanlorenzo is committed to working with a limited number of customers each year.

In true Italian style, the superyachts that leave Sanlorenzo’s main La Spezia shipyard transcend trends; instead, they exude classic style and authentic craftsmanship. Combined, this guarantees a truly timeless finish – of which the current flagship Attila is a perfect example. Sanlorenzo specializes in fiberglass, steel and aluminum, ensuring that each owner can select a material to befit their needs.

Despite dating back over a hundred years, German luxury yacht builder Nobiskrug always has one eye on the future with a steadfast commitment to innovation. Nobiskrug offers fully custom yacht builds, working directly with owners to fulfill their unique vision, as well as working on ship refits. The company operates out of world-class yacht-building facilities in the city of Rendsburg, which include a climate-controlled superyacht hall.

The need to strive for innovation extends to Nobiskrug’s environmental commitments, where it applies advanced technologies in order to limit the impact of its builds. For example, Artefact – which was first delivered in 2020 – was one of the first superyachts to be built in line with the IMO Tier III regulations (which focus on reducing emissions). Artefact uses onboard solar panels and a battery storage system to allow for a limited period of engineless operation, as well as adopting a waste-water recycling system.

You might be wondering why would someone do that, surely you don’t get money from it. What you do get is new experiences and adventures. So we gathered a list of the 10 best Italian yacht brands for you.

Yes, Italians are great in everything, even in creating Italian luxury yacht brands. Rightly so, since you’ll find the best beaches in Italy where having a boat or a yacht gives you a great advantage. Of course, owning a yacht is costly and not many can afford it, but you’ll be sailing toward beautiful coasts and enjoying the sea or ocean during sunset and sunrise.

5 Best Italian Yacht brands – Italian luxury Yacht Brands

So how do you choose which Italian sailing yachts brands are the right ones for you? You can choose by model, specifications, length, interior design, and even whether the brand lets you add your personal touch to them, which is possible! Of course, it also matters how many people can fit on the yacht. And how fast can you get to your favorite Italian coasts? With these yachts, you can travel faster and better than by car.

For example, places like Cinque Terre , Amalfi , Portofino , or Sorrento are all coastal towns that you should visit and with your own personal yacht, it couldn’t be easier. And the yacht itself can feel like a luxury apartment with the newest furniture. What better flagships to purchase than the ones from the best Italian yacht brands?

It can be a challenge to purchase a yacht without prior experience. You can use a yacht charter (for example  Boataround ) and choose from many boats on offer to know what awaits you.

italian yacht brands

If you really want to stand out among your friends, Benetii should be on the top of your list of Italian yacht brands to buy. It is actually the oldest brand that started creating boats back in 1873. The founder is Lorenzo Benetti and they pride themselves on their Made in Italy yachts.

The first-ever shipyard launched by Benetti was in Viareggio in 1873. After nearly 100 years, in 1961 Benetti starts to produce steel boats, and the first yacht was launched under the name of Luxury Motor Yacht. Choose from a few different categories of yachts such as Class, B.Yong, Oasis, and B. Now or B. Century.

The Motopaniflo is the perfect yacht for travel. It is 37 meters long and it’s beautiful. Wait until you see the inside of the yacht, it is absolutely stunning! It fits 10 guests in 5 cabins and another 7 people in 4 cabins that are part of the crew. In case you’ve been wondering which Italian sailing yachts brands to invest in, Benetti should be in your top 5.

Among the best Italian yacht brands we have to count Azimut in our top 5 list. The business was founded by Paolo Vitelli in 1969. The first yacht that defined the history of the brand was the AZ 43’ Bali one and it “was an immediate success”. One of Azimut’s sayings is ”Italian as a way of life” meaning their attention to detail in the production of every single yacht is impeccable.

Azimut’s products show elegance, luxury, and the best quality you could find. No wonder it’s at the top of the Italian luxury yacht brands. There are about 6 collections on the website. Flybridge, S Collection, Magellano, Atlantis, Grande, and Verve. All of the collections have different sizes of yachts.

The Magellano for example was built for anyone ”who wants to cruise further afield”. It has gentle navigation and limited fuel consumption. The interior is specifically for those who wish to stay on the boat for a longer period. The Magellano 43 for instance had 2/3 cabins and it’s perfect for a small family or group of friends.

3. Mangusta

italian yacht brands

Mangusta is a bit newer than the previous brands . They have over 30 years of experience in being on the top of the Italian yacht brands list. The founders are the Balducci family who came up with the Mangusta name in 1985. The name comes from mongoose, which is ”the only animal that can tackle and defeat cobras. At that time the best company for fast vessels used to be the Cobra by Tecnomarine.

So the Mangusta was a new challenge, to beat the existing company in the best Italian sailing yachts brands. Giuseppe Balducci’s history also begins in Viareggio when he was working in a historic shipyard. The innovations that came after these years are truly amazing and it’s still a well-respected company.

You’ll find three types of yachts, Mangusta Oceano, Gransport, and Maxiopen. I found the Maxi Open the most interesting. It is a luxury sports yacht, it’s designed to be spacious while still offering enough speed. The smallest model can still hold up to 14 people on board in total. While the 132E has 5 cabins for guests and the owner, plus another 3 for the crew. So in total, it can fit up to 17 people. You can bring a lot of your friends to this yacht.

italian yacht builders

Using Riva’s own words about its yachts ”Devil is in the details” and I couldn’t agree more. Out of the 10 Italian luxury yacht brands Riva is probably the most luxurious looking with so much detail. It was founded in 1842 by Pietro Riva. Today it is part of the Ferretti Group.

You’ll find three different yachts at Riva, the Sportfly, Open, and Flybridge. Sportyfly’s largest yacht is the 88’ Folgore. It’s an ”irresistible thunderbolt”, it’s fast, beautiful and the design is just magnificent. It has 4 cabins and two standard crew cabins. The interior has everything you ever need for your vacation on the Italian coast.

From the Flybridge collection, I like the 110’ Dolcevita the most. It’s their new fiberglass flagship. And it is also a collaboration between Officina Italiana Design and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. The yacht itself is stunning, and aesthetically pleasing with the highest technology. It has 5 cabins and 3 standard crew cabins, so it’s quite spacious. Let’s see the last of the Italian yacht brands.

5. Sanlorenzo

italian yacht builders

The last on our list of Italian sailing yachts brands is Sanlorenzo. They have over 60 years of experience in this field, founded by Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia in 1958. They have been building high-quality motor yachts that can be ordered on request. And their motto is ’made to measure’, meaning you can request them to be made in many ways.

There are 4 collections to note at Sanlorenzo. SL, SD, SX and SP Range. The SL yacht for example is elegant and well-balanced, available in 6 different models. All of them can be personalized based on the owner’s taste and passions. Let’s take the SL106 Asymmetric as an example. It is 32,38 meters long and can fit a total of 15 people on board.

The SP range is quite new, designed with sustainability and comfort in mind. There’s only one model available, which is the SP110. It ”offers the best performances at the lowest fuel consumption”. Have you seen solar panels on a yacht? Yes, the SP110 has solar panels that supply the power to run the hotel load. It fits about 12-13 people and has a length of 33,04 meters. Even from an architectural point of view, this yacht is exquisite and worth investing in. Which of these Italian yacht brands is your favorite?

6. Baglietto

italian yacht brands

Continuing our list of Italian luxury yacht brands, next up is Baglietto. The brand was founded over 160 years ago, in 1854 with just the dream of having small fishing boats. Its founder is Pietro Baglietto whose vision was so clear that even today Baglietto is a well-respected yachts brand. He created racing boats, cruising yachts, and standard boats. Over the year the family business has been passed down to generations.

Today they stand proud as a 160 years old business that creates the most amazing yachts in Italy. There are 4 distinctive ranges to look at. The Dom Line, Tline, Fast Line, and Superfast Line. But besides these 4 ranges, Baglietto also offers the possibility to custom make your own yacht.

In the Fast Line, there are 3 different models designed by Francesco Paszkowski. The Fast43 is a 43.65 meters long yacht that can hold up to 17 people, out of which 7 are crew members. Another designer for Baglietto is Stefano Vafiadis, whose range is the Dom Line. The Dom 133 – Hybrid, has an overall length of 40.60 meters and can hold up to 18 people. The interior design is magnificent. You can literally live on this yacht!

7. Ferretti

italian yacht builders

The Ferretti Group was founded by the Ferretti brothers in 1968. They were previously marketing motor boats for an American Firm but then decided to build their own ones. The first one was built in 1971 and was called a ‘motor sailer’. After this, a series of other motor yachts were built by the Ferretti brothers, and soon they expanded into a bigger company.

The Ferretti Group also owns Riva, Custom Line, and CRN. So what type of “boats” can you buy from one of the best Italian yachts brands like Ferretti? According to the company, “the Ferretti Yachts fleet is a rich mix of comfort”. Let’s take the FERRETTI YACHTS 1000, which is a new concept of yachts. It looks and feels luxurious from the inside out.

The amount of time spent on designing and prototyping these yachts is over 15,000 hours. And to this day, it is their largest yacht built. The exterior looks premium with all of the details thought out carefully. The interiors look like the inside of an apartment. With sofas, tables, and chairs that make up a lounge and allow 20 people to be on board. The bedrooms and bathrooms are stunning too!

8. Rossinavi

italian yacht brands

The brand Rossivani is fairly new compared to the other Italian sailing yachts brands. Rossivani was founded in 2007 by Cantiere Fratelli Rossi. So many brands in Italy have been created by families and passed down to generations, working with the same passion. They create stylish yet simple designs which are made to last for years to come.

On their website, you can check out the fleets as they were made in each year, all the way back to 2000. The “South” was the first-ever made yacht by the Rossivani company and it’s 54 meters. The average speed is 15 knots with a maximum of 17, meanwhile smaller yachts go between 6-8. These yachts can accommodate up to 12 guests.

Looking at the newest model which is the “Piacere” one, was built for anyone in all types of sea conditions. It’s made in a way that both the internal and external spaces are optimized. The overall length is almost 50 meters. Although it doesn’t say how many people can fit into this yacht, however, you can choose to have a large garage on the bow. Simply said, it’s a pretty big yacht!

italian yacht brands

The story of CRN began in 1963 in Ancona which is in the Marche region of Italy. If you’re familiar with this region, then you know the Le Marche beaches as beautiful, so it’s only right that you need a yacht to discover all of them. CRN comes from “Costruzioni e Riparazioni Navali” which translates to “Shipbuilding and Ship Repairs”. Ancona has been a “strategic maritime hub” for 2400 years.

CRN is passionate about steel and aluminum, to bring their ideas to life and listen to your visions of how you imagine the yacht to be. They say “if you can dream it, we can make it”. Looking at the CRN Megayachts, they are definitely larger than the previous ones on our list. Mimtee for example is a beauty of 79 meters and it was designed for families.

Another beautiful 54,80-meter yacht is the Atlante. It’s quite huge and it fits around 13 guests. Although the exterior is more similar to the exterior of a ship, the yacht is still beautiful and functional for pleasure use. Other fleets CRN designed are Ciao, Rio, Voice, or Cloud 9. The Cia and Rio are the newest addition to the 2022 year. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for premium yachts!

10. Custom Line

italian yacht brands

As we have mentioned before, Custom Line is owned by the Ferretti Group. If you have seen the yachts they produce then you know you’ll only get the best quality. What does Custom Line promise to deliver then? Their fleets are “designed to fulfill every lifestyle and cruising need”. They have two main fleet lines, the Planing, and Navetta. All of these yachts were made with excellence in mind, so your sailings can go as smoothly as you can expect them to.

From the Navetta line, the 42 is the company’s largest displacement yacht. It is practical, it’s stunning and it blends into the sea. What’s even better is that this beauty is fully customizable. Whatever you wish to create inside this yacht, Custom Line will grant your wishes. It can fit up to 4 VIP sections, meaning that a maximum of 20 people can be on board. This will include 5 cabins for guests and another 4 for crew members. Which one was your favorite out of the 10 Italian yacht brands?

Best Italian Yacht Brands – Italian Sailing Yachts Brands – Wrap up

That concludes our list of Italian yacht brands. In case you wish to experience the luxury life and travel more on the sea, a yacht is a perfect investment. In this case, you’ll gain more life experience, you’ll travel and if you’re lucky enough you get to do that with family and your loved ones. After all, what’s the point of owning a yacht if you cannot take your family and friends on it? What we love about the Italian luxury yacht brands is their attention to detail. From the outside of the yacht to the inside furniture , everything is so well-thought-out.

For instance, if you purchase a bigger yacht, you’ll get about 8 cabins easily. Of course, some need to be reserved for the crew members as it’s important to have people help with sailing, however, you still have plenty of room for yourself. Other specifications may include fuel consumption. The majority are designed in a way that you use less fuel and get more travel time out of it. Whichever brand you choose, they will not disappoint you!

Two marine industry leaders announced what could be a propulsion revolution in yachting—a serial-hybrid propulsion system mated to some of the coolest tech on the water.

Volvo Penta IPS Hybrid System for Azimut Seadeck 7.

Volvo Penta has been working toward this moment—a warrantied stem-to-stern hybrid system that works with all the features of its IPS system—for years. Robb Report saw the first iteration of the system two years ago on a tourist boat in Svalbard, Norway.

“This was the first release of a heavy-duty version of the hybrid built around D13 engines,” Johan Inden, president of Volvo Penta Marine, tells Robb Report , adding that it had built a prototype of the Seadeck 7 two years ago to test the engines.

The hybrid IPS system hits a sweet spot in the yachting sector, mostly because of the large number of builders offering boats from 65 to 100 feet. “This is the world’s first hybrid system that coordinates with our IPS system, allowing users to operate joystick driving and docking, low speed handling, dynamic positioning, and assisted docking in both pure electric and hybrid modes,” says Inden.

Azimut Seadeck 7 Fundeck at stern.

The Seadeck 7 is a big departure for Azimut. Missing are the conventional luxuries that define most of the Italian brand’s other models. In its place is an eco-friendly package, its hull optimized for maximum efficiency in both planing and displacement modes, while carbon fiber has been used in 40 percent of the vessel to remove weight. With the new hybrid propulsion, says Azimut, the Seadeck 7 emits up to 40 percent less carbon dioxide than similar-sized vessels.

Azimut Seadeck7 Interior

Beyond the eco-credentials, the Seadeck 7 has cool features such as the planing hull that reaches 40 knots and an exterior that Azimut calls “Fun Island,” because of its proximity to the water, connection to the interior via large glass doors, and fold-down side platforms.

The series also includes the Seadeck 6 , which is 57’5” in length, and an upcoming Seadeck 9, which is 83’9”. Both the Seadeck 6 and Seadeck 7 will be on display this week at Cannes, but buyers who want the Seadeck 7 will have to wait until late 2025 when the first units ship.
