Renting and advertising boats that are…
Renting and advertising boats that are not fit for purpose. Do not trust this company or management, broken windows, toilets that had not been emptied (I kid you not) broken fridge, no chairs to sit on, no cover or awning to hide from sun, no pillow cases - paid over 6,000 euro - Even after highlighting all of these issues and request a 5% reimbursement they did not listen. Rent from Istion direct and remove this ineffective middle man yachting.com from the sector.

NO BOAT REVIEW feature
rented boat and on arrival it was without 1 of 2 sails, later we found troubles with engine gears and anchor winch...yachting.com unable to reach by phone....the biggest problem is that there is NO BOAT REVIEW feature, can't leave a comment on individual boat experience

Really bad experience
Really bad experience. Please don't trust this agency. The promised me some terms for yachting exam in November, but I still didn't get nothing!! I call them lots of time but, they ignore me. Really arrogant and ignorant company.

Hello, we are very sorry for your bad experience. Unfortunately, the demand for this term was not high enough, so we can only confirm terms of exam where would be enough people. If you tried to reach us, it was maybe outside of our office hours, or maybe there was some technical issue. Once again, we are very sorry for any inconvenience and please feel free let us know if we can help you in this matter. Team Yachting.com

The most expensive and faulty ship (3 years old - broken fenders, ripped bumpers ... we were ashamed to use it), which we have rented for the last 20 years. With Le Boat never again. Due to repairs, we could not use the ship 1 all day and another half day to sail. No apology in the shipyard, no compensation .... From the 4th day we had to open the engine compartment every day and clean the filters !!! Sometimes twice a day! At the upper rudder, oil flowed on the floor for 9 days - the mechanic told us that it is okay to wipe it off .... not to mention a non-functional shower and air conditioning ... crew of Horizon 4, Hesse 9. - 19.6.

Hello, this needs to be communicated with the charter company directly. We can help to address your complains directly to that company and communicate on behalf of you. Charter company will consider complains and issue the compensation for the charter. We are ready to assist. Yachting.com
Bad beginning and Good final experience
Bad beginning and Good final experience It was very difficult to receive answers from our contact at yachting.com, specially by whatsapp (never reply or late replies), that difficulted our planning (we were first time travelers using a boat). Fortunately some days before our departure we received a direct contact from the supplier and the communication was good. The rental went well. Great skipper and a good boat!
Date of experience : July 12, 2021
Hello, thank you for your feedback. We communicate mainly via phone and email and our Sales colleagues replies on the whatsup too. We recommend to call or email us in the future. We are sending all needed documents about marina and the boat via email in advance. We are glad your charter went well and we hope you will have a better experience next time. Have a nice day, yachting.com

When returning the boat to the charter company, a loose railing was found and payment of EUR 250 was required. We contacted yachting.com because we did not damage anything, but we still had to pay the required price, yachting. com didn't help us.

We ordered a boat from Navigare in the port of Trogir. When we arrived at the place, they told us that unfortunately our ship was not there and that we would get another one. Before leaving, I made sure 2 that the ship was in order and that it would be in port. Everyone confirmed that it is. In the end, we got another and bigger ship, which unfortunately was not sufficiently prepared and had a lot of shortcomings. Some equipment was missing. Because it was really big 64, we had a problem mooring in all ports and, if so, for a very high price. When we returned to the port, colleagues from Sweden had the same experience. By no means do I recommend this company, which is in Trogir !!!
Date of experience : November 13, 2020
Dear Lubos, We are sorry for Your experience. It´s not common procedure, especially with Navigare - a company that do not have these problems often and if so, knows how to handle them. Thank You for sharing the story, we will definitely keep it in mind when it comes to Trogir.. We believe that next time everything is properly prepared - something yachting.com can help with. Practice course with yachtig.com
Practice course with yachtig.com in Croatia. One week full of learning and testing all relevant knowledges about yachting in real situations and mainly practicing steering the yacht. Great skipper shared maximum of his experiences, gave us a lot of practical advices to help us drive the yacht safely and with the pure joy of sailing. I'd definitely recommend this course to other who wants to become a skipper!

Best boat trip
Best boat sailng trip, 5 persons via Bavaria 34 from Pitter charter, very usefull person and competettition. A bit changeable weather, but every day we bathed and of course we also sailed. Satisfaction with the ship, everything clean, worked as it should.

Yachting.com helped us organize the best trip of the best! I appreciate their will to help in relaying the boat rental dates from May to October (due to Spring restrictions and cancelled flights). Everything went as expected and not giving up paid off more than enough.

Dear Filip, We are happy to see such positive feedback.. We always advocate for client in case of postponing the charter - especially in 2020 season it was our "daily bread". Team Yachting.com
Mallorca - perfect sailing trip
Last week we had the postponed sailing trip from 2020 (because of the COVID situation in 2020) and the first time we sailed in Mallorca. Although we were scared, that border had could be closed again, finally, everything was perfect. Nice sea, warm water, the weather was OK and finally good catamaran Lagoon 40 - SUNRISE. Only small details - the engine on the outboard had a dirty fuel filter, so we had to change a whole engine. The biggest support we had from a local charter company, I mean it is important to have contact direct in the port, not only in the brokerage company. The first time we used check-in video - a good idea, its saves time and gives everybody a chance to return to problematic issues during the sail.

I had a good experience with courses…
I had a good experience with courses organized by Yachting.com. Regarding theory all was good, except for "weather part" which was completely different to the exam. Regarding the practical course, we were "trained" by Lea Princova, please change this instructor for future. We did very little during the course, we were sailing MAX 3 hours a day, majority of our questions was without answer. We got no course for sailing. For question where we are going we got answer "there" with finger pointing somewhere ahead of us. We got no information about where the safety staff such as life vests or harnesses is stored. No proper info about manipulation with electricity equipment, motor etc. This instructor seriously damaged the experience for us and taught us very little, which I am very sorry for as we could use the week much much better. Thanks, Iveta Hornackova

Hello dear, thank you very much for your feedback. You were already in touch with us also via e-mail regarding this matter and we would like to ensure you again, that we took it into consideration and we no longer cooperate with this instructor. Hopefully your next yachting experience with us will be without any troubles. Looking forward to welcome you on board! :) kind regards, yachting.com
Helpful, but issues, especially for U.S. customers.
The team at yachting.com is helpful, and their website is great, but as an American customer, there were serious deficiencies that they should be much more upfront about. The website indicated that deposit insurance was included with the purchase, but it didn't cover an American purchaser. I got an email indicating that I didn't get the included insurance after id made the first payment on the contract, and nothing more, despite asking for some kind of refund for insurance costs. There were also hidden costs that you only find out about after making a booking on the website. Finally, after finalizing the booking and payment and getting close to the charter timing, Yachting.com essentially left me hanging - slow or no responses to email requests. Thankfully I reached out the the charter company that my charter was actually with, and had an excellent experience with them directly. Do yourself a favor and do some research to find charter companies in the area you're planning to go, and deal with them directly from the start. I did give yachting.com this feedback in an after-charter survey and to their credit they did respond to apologize. They even offered a €100 voucher for future charters within 6 months... But my advice above stands. I won't be taking them up on their offer, because I'll save more than that by dealing directly with charter companies.

Boat booking via hausboty.cz was okay…
Boat booking via hausboty.cz was okay with kind and opened communication although the stay was postponed for one year due to COVID pandemic. The only improvement opportunity I see in area of introductory training at AhojCzarter, where the staff was quite loaded (takeover of all the boats on saturday) and not really fluent in English. Being an absolute beginner, I would appreciate deeper and more thorough training than provided. On the other hand the staff was open, helpful and atmosphere friendly and very good. So overall it was great experience.

This was a skipper licence C training. Our mentor, skipper and examiner in one person, Jiri Pacák, was perfectly balanced in lecturing, teaching and showing all in personal example.I feel now much comfortable in sailing, mooring, docking or possibly solving critical situations. I can strongly recommend this course and Jiri Pacák as a skipper particularly. Well organised, yachting.com!

Experience with charter Euroyacht.
Communication with Yachting.com was excellent. The situation on the spot was different - the boat under Euroyacht fleet was not ready for takeover by appointment - the front sail was missing, the zip on the sprayhood was defective, the stopper for the front sail was missing, the on-board computer showed bad values, overall the boat was in poor condition.
Dear Tomas, Thank you for sharing. If the yacht is in such a condittion, we´re taking a note and mentioning it when it comes to offers and bookings. Next time we´ll find you a better option. Yachting°com
Serious lack of maintenance to the…
Serious lack of maintenance to the point of being dangerous for a family charter! NO STERN LADDER! This was a serious issue for me and my family, especially for my 13yr and 10yr old children! Boarding the boat from the sundeck was almost impossible for me and a total no go for my wife and kids. I stopped my children from swimming for the first 3 days until a ladder had been added to the boat. I received some excuse about it being put on the wrong boat! Hopefully you can see from the pictures that the height of the sundeck over the water made it impossible to pull yourself up out of the water and I have no idea how I would have performed in a Man over Board situation with this serious safety issue! Paddle boards with no safety leg strap! NO KILL CORD on outboard! Just too dangerous for words! A zip tie had been used (which looked like a permanent feature) so I refused to use this for the first 3 days - I complained and a killcord was brought out to me along with some other repairs including the ladder). If I had fallen out of the tender there is a serious risk that the boat could go into a turn and I would received a propeller blade to the head over and over again! Broken Fridge Door - which would not close (unless you used a special technique) and therefore caused food to perish quickly. This was again a lack of maintenance and abuse! Generator and AC unit broken! the generator would run for 60 secs before the Exhaust over heated and then cut out...causing battery power issues as well as NO AIR CONDITIONING! The generator was finally fixed after day 4, so that the AC would run...however there was no AC in any cabin! I discovered the reason for this on the final day, the pipe that came off the AC Unit had been taped on and had pulled away due to a poor repair and lack of maintenance!

Hello, thank you for the feedback. I don't see any booking with us under your name, so please let us know if it was booked under other name with us, or if not, please confirm for us name of the charter company with this neglected maintenance, so we can avoid them in the future for our clients. Thank you. Team Yachting.com
After sales support improvement recommended
The order of service was smooth and well recommended boat. The after purchase service should be improved in case of information provided before departure. Beside payment reminder more information are expected well in advance, facing to delay and lst second instructions and comments. Especially for beginners more claer guidlines are appreciated. Communiction was very limited and several reminders had to be be placed. Several critical issues presented in take over even was asked for coordination before departure. In the end all issues solved. With more personal experience less stress. Flexibility and open mind needed for customer. Always after direct approach solution was provided in friendly atmosphere.

For the first time I rode a boat on a flashlight (Minueto eletrik). We had to pay attention to its charging and turn off unnecessary appliances in time. Acceleration was weaker than motor boats. The boat was very well equipped and provided the participants with a beautiful experience.

Inside the Maldives’ first superyacht marina, the newest playground of the super rich
Y ou’d be forgiven for assuming the Maldives, a country that is 99 per cent water and a playground for the uber wealthy, comfortably caters for the yachting elite. The archipelago’s 172 luxury resorts, many of which are built on private islands, offer every conceivable amenity, from sublime underwater spas to incongruous snow rooms. Yet a purpose-built superyacht marina is a glaring omission from the list, an anomaly that Atoll Estates is looking to change.
The UAE-based company has revealed plans for a five-star development set within 500 hectares of a natural lagoon in the South Malé Atoll. Located just 21 miles from Malé International airport (which completes a large expansion in 2025 to cater for the estimated 4.3 million travellers passing through each year), Zamani Islands will comprise three individual resorts spread across eight islands. Designed in partnership with Dubai-based architects Killa Design, it promises to host the island chain’s first dedicated superyacht marina.
“By providing state-of-the-art facilities for superyachts , the marina will attract more high-net-worth individuals and yachting enthusiasts to the region,” says Amit Majumder, co-founder and managing partner of Atoll Estates, who believes the influx will boost local tourism. “The increased yachting traffic will foster the development of related services and infrastructure, further establishing the Maldives as a premier yachting destination on the global stage.”
The initial phase of the development, set to open in 2026, will include the first of three distinct resorts made up of a collection of private residences, each with a private pier for yacht tenders. Lifelong berthing at the marina (once complete) will also be included. The second “multi-experiential” resort is aimed at families and couples with a private island beach club for over 21s, while the third “lifestyle” resort will have a total of 300 keys, a yacht and sailing club and the largest events and entertainment venue in the country.
Spanning a whopping 60,000 square metres, Zamani Islands marina’s full-service facilities are pitched to include crew amenities, provisioning, maintenance and access to a yacht club. Of the 120 yacht berths, 60 will be dedicated to superyachts upwards of 30m in length, with a single dockside mooring of up to 200m. Other resort amenities include the first medical spa in the country (though Soneva’s two wellness complexes may have pipped them to the post), personal butler service, and 28 food and beverage venues, including an underwater restaurant.
It’s no secret that the Maldives’ wide-open waters, vibrant coral reefs and diving hot spots make it a yachting haven. Around 70 to 100 large motor and sailing yachts arrive in Maldivian waters each year (per 2021-2023 Maldivian Coast Guard cruising permit applications). The country’s strategic location in the Indian Ocean also makes it a convenient stopover for yachts travelling between the Middle East, southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. According to tracking data compiled by Bloomberg, the Maldives saw more visiting yachts than Hong Kong and Singapore combined in 2023, slightly outpacing Thailand. So why has there not been a superyacht marina in the pipeline before now?
“For the past 20 years, the Maldives’ private resort tourism model has proven highly profitable and pretty low risk,” says Splinter Fangman, a yacht and berth broker at Edmiston. “With a superyacht marina, it’s still a gamble whether the yachts will actually use it.”
For vessels upwards of 70m that can sustain themselves at anchor for weeks at a time, the Maldives’ current lack of infrastructure isn’t an issue. Yachts like 134m Serene and 97m Faith are self-sufficient floating resorts equipped with their own high-end amenities, even the aforementioned snow room. Provisioning and fuel bunkering is done ship to ship using a large barge that caters for private island resorts. Though the opportunity to dock at a marina to use shore power, turn off systems and generators, and allow the crew to go ashore is appealing, it’s not a requisite, says Fangman, especially for owners who prize privacy above all else.
For smaller yachts that depend on the services of a marina, making the crossing to the Indian Ocean can be challenging. That said, the Maldives is well placed to capture substantial traffic in the burgeoning Asia-Pacific yachts, while vessels based in the Middle East regard it as an attractive alternative to the crowded anchorages of the Caribbean.
“A marina in the Maldives will pull through huge numbers of yachts from the Red Sea and Persian Gulf,” says Donovan Chong, an independent marina entrepreneur. He cites the 146m Lürssen-built Opera, owned by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the deputy prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, which typically berths in Dubai, as a frequent visitor to the Maldivian archipelago.
Demand for a marina that caters to the super rich is now a strategic focus for the Maldives, adds Chong, who notes there are several additional imminent marina projects in the pipeline. “The Maldivian government has made it a top priority to explore new tourism verticals beyond hotels and resorts and to establish the Maldives as the ‘eastern terminus’ of the yachting world.”
He believes a dedicated marina will unlock the untapped potential of the Maldives as a charter (yacht rental) hot spot, and that future resorts need to be built around the marina, rather than treating it as an amenity. Majumder agrees. “Zamani Islands is more than just a residence; it is a lifestyle — one that seamlessly blends the opulence of land and sea, providing a haven for those who appreciate the finer things in life.” In other words, build it and the yachts will come.

Review: Dining at waterfront restaurant in marina is like being on staycation in paradise
Have you ever needed a vacation but couldn’t get away? We Treasure Coast residents are very lucky to live in a tropical paradise others love to visit. We have water, beaches, boating and sunshine — so why should we ever leave home?
When I crave a getaway, I try to find a restaurant that will take me there. Being on the water is definitely a plus.
Skippers Cove Bar & Grill in Fort Pierce is that kind of place. It has a “life is good” kind of vibe, which is definitely how I want to feel on vacation. The tropical-styled, shoreside restaurant has taken over the space previously occupied by Harborcove Seafood Bar & Grill at The Safe Harbor Harbortown Marina.
All things food: New restaurants, reviews, inspections & best bets
To get to the restaurant, you have to meander through the marina. Pause midway and buy a yacht, if you wish; otherwise, follow the “restaurant” signs to the cheerful, brightly painted building at the end.

All dining is al fresco with vibrant-colored, high-top tables and stools on the deck under light blue umbrellas. The bar and dining area are undercover and cooled by fans.
The marina is filled with beautiful sail and motor yachts that stimulated our fantasies of a boating vacation. As we walked to the restaurant, we commented on the heat, but once seated we were comfortable. Two glasses of water filled with ice and served immediately were appreciated, as were the icy cold glasses into which our cold white wine was served. A nice touch.
The lunch menu was large with appetizers such as wings, nachos, jerk shrimp and tuna eggrolls. Rounding out the entrée portion of the menu were fish and chips, scallops, mussels, New York strip steak, teriyaki tuna bowl, salads, sandwiches, sliders, tacos and quesadillas — just to name a few.
We started our lunch with fried mushrooms ($8). Lightly hand-breaded button mushrooms were fried and served hot with a side of ranch-style dressing. A perfect start.
My lunch companion ordered the coconut shrimp platter ($25), which was excellent. There is nothing more tropical and vacation-like than coconut. The six pieces of large shrimp were coated in breading and coconut flakes and then deep fried. The dipping sauce — a combination of orange marmalade and Grand Marnier — was rich, sweet and a perfect accompaniment to the crispy shrimp. Sweet potato fries harmonized with the other flavors on her plate.
I ordered avocado mahi ($24), which our waitress, Christina, said was her favorite item on the menu. It might be mine too. The dish was a beautifully grilled piece of tender, flaky fish over black beans and rice and topped with pico de gallo and one-half of an avocado. The textures and flavors were direct and perfect. The fresh avocado was perfectly ripe and lent a creaminess to each bite of fish without competing for attention as guacamole would. A lemon or lime wedge would have been a good addition served as a garnish and flavor enhancer.
Take a drive (or a boat) to Skippers Cove Bar & Grill for a taste of a getaway and waterfront vacation. This great little spot is served by very friendly folks who are calmly but efficiently helpful. The waitress knew the menu well and the food was served quick and hot.
Sit on the patio and gaze at the boats and the beautiful Indian River Lagoon while sipping a cold tropical drink. The menu is full of goodies to nibble while listening to music nightly and weekend days. Life is good on vacation.

Below are a few things to consider. 1. Reputation. The yachting community is very small and vocal. Ask other yachters or locals what they think about the facility you're interested in and search online for reviews. 2. Location. Consider the location of the marina itself, as well as the location of your slip at the marina.
