Vermilion Power Boats

Powerboats were introduced in the late 1880s, rising in popularity throughout the early and mid 1900s. Large manufacturers and the tinkers in their home garage or sheds, constantly made improvements to engine performance, with this came the need for speed and the thrill of racing machine vs machine. Powerboat enthusiasts across the Great Lakes began to form clubs to share their interests with others. One of these clubs is the Vermilion Power Boats (VPB) of Vermilion, Ohio. The club was incorporated in 1956 after a band of boaters purchased Lee’s boat yard in the Vermilion Lagoons. To appeal to the social aspect of boating, VPB Inc, founded a subsidiary club, the Vermilion Power Boats Yacht Club in 1983. The subsidiary club is a member of the Inter-Lake Yachting Association and has an extensive social calendar that includes club functions and meet-ups.

Arrived Friday and stayed all weekend! Such a warm and welcoming place! From our first contact with Paige at the office to every encounter after this Marina and Yacht club has the nicest group of people! Tom and Val were right next to us and made sure we had everything we needed, even offered a vehicle if we needed something out of walking distant and Tom wasn't the only one to offer! Everything we needed, including a marina store, was within walking distance so we were all set! Kayaking and a putt putt place was close by so there was plenty to do and the Lagoons and beaches were beautiful. David and several other members invited us to planned and spontaneous events throughout the weekend! We always felt welcomed but never pressured to participate. The clubhouse was so comfortable and the bathrooms/showers were nicer then my home!!! 6 private bathrooms with showers and one without a shower all spotless throughout our stay with plenty of hot water!! Don't let the name fool you- sailboats are very welcomed here! We will definitely be back!

DOCKAGE  –  STORAGE  –  SERVICE

FULL SEASON CONTRACT The full season contract at Vermilion Powerboats runs from May 1st of the current docking year through April 30th of the following year.  It includes summer dockage, winter storage, spring launch, full haul-out, bottom boat wash, shoring, electric, water, trash removal, free pump-outs, fuel discounts, and membership into Vermilion Powerboats Yacht Club and membership to the Inter-Lake Yachting Association.

SUMMER-ONLY CONTRACT You may choose to only keep your boat with us during the summer.  If this is the best option for you, the contract will run May 1st through November 1st of the current docking year.  With this contract, you’ll receive water, electric, trash removal, pump-outs, fuel discounts, and membership into the Vermilion Power Boats Yacht Club and the Inter-Lake Yachting Association.

WINTER-ONLY CONTRACT If you’d like to winter with Vermilion Power Boats, you’ll have storage at our facilities from October 1st of the current docking year through April 30th of the following year. The winter-only contract also includes  water, electric, trash removal, bottom boat cleaning, shoring, fall haul-out and spring launch. Vermilion Power Boats is securely monitored, and you have the ability to monitor the property online from a live feed to ensure the safety and security of your vessel.

TRANSIENT DOCKING Advance reservations for transient docks are available for $1.50 per foot.  Wi-Fi and full use of the clubhouse are also available.  Transient discounts are offered to members of reciprocal I-LYA Yacht Clubs.  Boat US members can receive 25% off transient overnight dockage along with fuel discounts.
