Rossinavi Seawolf X Catamaran

“We set out to envision the boat of the future, unbound by convention yet grounded in feasibility with cutting-edge technology for minimal environmental impact,” designer Fulvio De Simoni said in a statement.

Seawolf X is part of the Italian yard’s newly launched Blue series . Inspired by the way in which phytoplankton harnesses sunlight for energy, the hybrid-electric Blue cruisers use solar panels to capture clean energy and then stores it in advanced batteries to power the engines and hotel load.

Rossinavi says Seawolf X can cruise in full electric mode 100 percent of the time on one-day trips, 90 percent on multi-day jaunts, and 80 percent on transatlantic crossings. In addition, “Hibernation” mode reduces power consumption while the vessel is at anchor and any excess energy generated can be given to a quay or private property. In fact, Seawolf X supplies enough energy to charge up an entire villa, Rossinavi claims. The cat is also equipped with two diesel generators that can quickly recharge batteries. Alternatively, the batteries can be fully recharged with shore power in only five hours.

To top it off, Seawolf X is powered by an artificial intelligence system. Described as “a brain that can learn from observation and predict the needs of guests on board,” Rossinavi AI keeps the environmental impact of the yacht as low as possible by helping the crew to implement more eco-friendly operational changes and monitoring the battery pack to keep it in an ideal range of 20 to 80 percent.

“This yacht showcases remarkable technological innovations in both power management and propulsion technologies, marking the beginning of a new chapter in next-generation vessels,” adds Rossinavi COO Federico Rossi.

Most innovative project, indeed.

Rossinavi Launches 140′ Hybrid-Electric Catamaran

  • By Caleb Revill
  • May 30, 2024

Rossinavi Seawolf X

Italian yacht builder Rossinavi announced the launch of the M/Y Seawolf X , a hybrid-electric power catamaran capable of cruising in full electric mode for 100 percent of the time on one-day trips.

In a press release from the company, Rossinavi announced the innovative yacht carries the BluE label designating the shipyard’s new sustainable philosophy. Seawolf X has a 140-foot length overall, 45-foot beam and is an all-aluminum vessel that combines sleek design with environmentally friendly solutions.

The press release notes that the catamaran can cruise in full-electric mode for 100 percent of the time on day trips and 90 percent of the time on multi-day trips. Rossinavi also states that the vessel is capable of making transatlantic trips while in electric mode 80 percent of the time.

The Hibernation mode, kicking off when the power catamaran is moored, reduces consumption to a minimum and the energy generated can be given back to the dock or a private property. Rossinavi boasts that the Seawolf X supplies enough energy to charge up an entire villa. The ship’s two diesel generators can quickly recharge its batteries on shore power in five hours.

“After years of study and construction, it is now a source of satisfaction and pride for us to witness the launch of project Sea Cat, now Seawolf X , the first hybrid-electric multihull vessel,” said Rossinavi COO Federico Rossi in a press release. “This yacht showcases remarkable technological innovations in both power management and propulsion technologies, marking the beginning of a new chapter in next-generation vessels.”

Rossinavi Seawolf X

Yacht of the future

Rossinavi’s BluE label hybrid-electric yachts are propelled by batteries and solar panels with the goal of reducing CO2 emissions. Energy collected by these solar panels during the day is stored in advanced batteries and released at night, creating a bioluminescent effect similar to glowing plankton.

On top of its environmental perks, Seawolf X also includes an onboard artificial intelligence system developed by Rossnavi. Rossinavi AI constantly analyzes the operation of the vessel and acts as a brain that can learn from observation and predict the needs of the guests on board. Rossinavi AI is able to talk with crew members and monitor the battery pack to keep it in a range of 20 to 80 percent –the ideal range to ensure better battery pack lifespan.

The boat’s exterior architecture is by Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design , while New-York-based practice Meyer Davis Studio designed the interiors. The Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design team came up with a sleek and low-profile silhouette, reminiscent of a sports car.

The yacht has three distinct spaces for outdoor living: a lively cockpit centered around a pool, a large sundeck with sunbathing and living spaces, and a bow area featuring a hidden pool and convertible home theater. The yacht design team accurately integrated solar panels into the vessel, ensuring plenty of surface space for energy recovery.

“We set out to envision the boat of the future, unbound by convention yet grounded in feasibility with cutting-edge technology for minimal environmental impact,” said Fulvio De Simoni, founder of Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design, in a press release.

Rossinavi Launches its First Hybrid-Electric Catamaran SEAWOLF X

By Frances Flannagan

Rossinavi has announced that its first hybrid-electric catamaran has successfully been launched: 42.75m SEAWOLF X. Bearing the BluE label, this futuristic vessel offers exceptional eco-friendly cruising options as well as boasting an array of standout features, from a hidden pool in the bow to a convertible home theatre.

SEAWOLF X is the latest and most innovative project from Rossinavi , featuring exterior design by Fulvio De Simoni and interiors by Meyer Davis Studio. She has been built in accordance with the shipyard’s new sustainable philosophy, carrying the BluE label, and is powered by AI for a greener navigation experience.

BluE was developed by Rossinavi in 2022: a revolutionary range of hybrid-electric yachts that are propelled by solar panels and batteries. They are able to operate in full electric mode for day trips and 80 percent electric mode for transatlantic voyages.

She combines a striking design with environmentally friendly solutions, making her an incredibly unique vessel that boasts three performance scenarios. On top of the cruising capabilities of a BluE vessel, she is also able to cruise in 90 percent electric mode for multi-day trips.

When she is moored, Hibernation mode kicks in, reducing fuel consumption to a minimum. The energy generated can then be given to the quay or private property, supplying enough energy to charge an entire villa. Other innovative aspects of SEAWOLF X are two diesel generators that can quickly recharge batteries and her ability to charge quickly in just five hours.

‘After years of study and construction, it is now a source of satisfaction and pride for us to witness the launch of Project Sea Cat, now Seawolf X, the first hybrid electric multihull vessel. This yacht showcases remarkable technological innovations in both power management and propulsion technologies, marking the beginning of a new chapter in next generation vessels,’ commented Federico Rossi, Chief Operating Officer of Rossinavi.

An exciting development from the Italian yard is Rossinavi AI: an onboard artificial intelligence system that not only maximises the yacht’s eco-friendly potential but improves comfort onboard. The system constantly analyses the operation of the vessel, in order to predict the needs of the guests.

Rossinavi AI remains in constant dialogue with crew members to optimise lower-impact behaviours and simultaneously teaches them about sustainable cruising, resulting in a seamless navigation that is customised to the guests onboard. The battery pack is also able to be monitored by this outstanding software, keeping it in a range of 20 to 80 percent to ensure greater longevity.

Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design team did an exceptional job at liberating their minds from preconceptions, developing a catamaran that embodies new design possibilities, the result being a sleek and low-profile silhouette, similar to that of a luxury sports car.

Three separate areas pervade the outdoor spaces: a convivial cockpit set around a pool, a large sundeck and a bow area that features a hidden pool and a convertible home theatre.

Solar panels have been meticulously integrated into the vessel, ensuring that every aspect of SEAWOLF X’s design has been optimised for eco-conscious cruising. Hull efficiency was also tackled by the development of lightweight solutions, including an anchor installation that enhances aesthetics as well as meeting weight standards.

Fulvio De Simoni, Founder of Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design, commented: ‘We set out to envision the boat of the future, unbound by convention yet grounded in feasibility with cutting edge technology for minimal environmental impact.’

Superyachts.com would like to congratulate Rossinavi on the launch of this exceptional catamaran, and look forward to following her journey as a yacht that represents the future of the maritime industry.

"This yacht showcases remarkable technological innovations in both power management and propulsion technologies, marking the beginning of a new chapter in next generation vessels." Federico Rossi, Chief Operating Officer, Rossinavi

rossinavi’s first hybrid-electric AI catamaran ‘M/Y seawolf X’ resembles a sports car on water

Rossinavi’s m/y seawolf x is a hybrid-electric ai catamaran.

For the first time, Rossinavi brings out a hybrid-electric catamaran named M/Y Seawolf X, powered by artificial intelligence . The Italian builder developed its own onboard artificial intelligence system called ‘Rossinavi AI’ which, as the company says, can learn from observation and predict the needs of the guests on board. It can help the crew members by advising them what to do to allow for conscious cruising and may lend a hand to the captain on what mode they should use in navigation or the current water situation.

The Rossinavi AI is believed to be able to monitor the hybrid-electric catamaran’s battery pack too, keeping it within the range of 20 and 80 percent so that its life can be extended. M/Y Seawolf X also prides itself on a long cruise, depending on the type of travel. On day trips, it can cruise in full electric mode. On multi-day trips, it can go on as an electric catamaran for 90 percent of the time, while 80 percent during transatlantic trips. When it goes into hibernation mode, it reduces its consumption to a minimum on its own.

Solar panels to generate green energy for cruising

Rossinavi’s first hybrid-electric catamaran, M/Y Seawolf X, also has solar panels, storing the energy captured from sunlight and returning it to the quay or private property where it is moored by powering or charging up equipment or even an entire villa. The hybrid-electric catamaran can be fully recharged at the shore power in only five hours. The water vehicle also comes with two diesel generators to quickly recharge the batteries. M/Y Seawolf X, and the other recent Rossinavi models, are propelled by batteries and solar panels that can operate in electric mode for day trips 100 percent of the time and sustain electric mode for 80 percent of the time on transatlantic voyages.

a hidden pool and a convertible home theater

Rossinavi taps Fulvio de Simoni Yacht Design for the exterior design and New York-based practice Meyer Davis Studio for the interiors of its first hybrid-electric catamaran, M/Y Seawolf X. Outside, the vessel exudes the look of a sports car. To achieve the style, a sleek and low-profile silhouette is applied, creating an illusion of the two giant wheels with a hollow body below when the guests view the catamaran from its front or rear.

Outside, the vessel has a sloping design, with its full-aluminum structure curving to mimic gentle waves. Stepping inside, Meyer Davis plants outdoor living on the electric yacht, spanning three distinct areas: a cockpit centered around a pool, an expansive sundeck with sunbathing and living spaces, and a bow area featuring a hidden pool and a convertible home theater. As of publishing the story, M/Y Seawolf X is Rossinavi’s first hybrid-electric AI catamaran.

ossinavi, renowned for its prowess in luxury yacht craftsmanship, has once again pushed the boundaries of innovation with the launch of their latest masterpiece, the Seawolf X. This 42.8-meter hybrid-electric catamaran marks a significant milestone for the esteemed shipyard, introducing a blend of cutting-edge technology and sustainable design to the world of luxury cruising.

The genesis of Seawolf X traces back to the Monaco Yacht Show of 2022, where whispers of Rossinavi’s ambitious project first began to circulate. Fast forward to Miami Design Week in 2021, and the concept was unveiled, captivating enthusiasts with its promise of unparalleled performance and environmental consciousness.

Designed in collaboration with Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design, the exterior of Seawolf X exudes a sleek, low-profile elegance reminiscent of a sports car, challenging conventional perceptions of catamaran aesthetics. This partnership marks a significant departure from Rossinavi’s previous ventures, notably the acclaimed Aurora, showcasing the shipyard’s versatility and willingness to explore new horizons.

What truly sets Seawolf X apart are its three distinctive “performance scenarios,” offering unparalleled flexibility for discerning travelers. Seawolf X | For charter with Cecil Wright & Partners

Rossinavi’s 43m hybrid-electric catamaran Seawolf X joins the charter fleet

Following her recent launch in May 2024 , the 42.8-metre hybrid-electric catamaran, Seawolf X has joined the charter fleet with Cecil Wright and Partners . Built by Italian shipyard Rossinavi, the project is a step into the future, being not only remarkably efficient, but also the shipyard's first multihull project.

With accommodation for 12 guests across five cabins, Seawolf X is anticipated to be a popular addition to the charter fleet thanks to its list of futuristic credentials, from electric cruising capabilities to an on-board artificial intelligence system designed to enhance the guest experience. Inspired by phytoplankton, marine algae that convert sunlight into energy, the shipyard has also been inspired by biomimicry to store and use clean energy via advanced batteries and solar panels.

On one-day trips, Seawolf X can cruise in full-electric mode for 100 per cent of the time; on multi-day trips, she can cruise for 90 per cent; and on transatlantic trips, she can still cruise in electric mode for 80 per cent of the time. When moored, Seawolf X will operate in “hibernation mode”, significantly reducing consumption and even allowing energy to be returned to the quay or property. Recharging at the shore takes five hours.

Designed by Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design , Seawolf X’s exteriors are a clear nod to the yacht's sustainable – and futuristic – direction, with a sweeping, low profiled hull. In a bid to break from normality and “liberate [people’s] minds from preconceptions” around catamarans, Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design took several design cues from the automotive world and opted for a dual inverted bow configuration. Solar panels have also been integrated into the design, which contribute to elevate energy consumption on board.

The yacht’s interiors have been created by New York-based design firm Meyer Davis, and follow the yacht’s sustainable theme. Taking inspiration from the sun, sea and sand, Seawolf X’s interiors are relaxed with light woods, natural light and wide-open spaces, including a 100 square-metre lounge and dining area.

The on-board Rossinavi AI system is designed to enhance the guest experience by analysing vessel operations, anticipating guest needs, and promoting eco-friendly practices. It also monitors the battery pack to maintain optimal charge levels between 20 and 80 percent.

Entertainment on board includes a Jacuzzi, an expansive sundeck with plenty of room for sunbathing and an additional hidden Jacuzzi in the bow, as well as a convertible home cinema.

Seawolf X is available to charter with Cecil Wright and Partners with a weekly summer rate of €420,000. Her inaugural charter season will be spent in the Mediterranean before heading over to the Caribbean for winter cruising (with availability over Christmas and New Year).
